- ❄️🧅✨🥔🕯🧄thanks for coming to my winter kitchen! find my guide to eating seasonally in winter down below as well as the full recipes from the video :)
🍶while it is not always specified in my recipe or directions, please know that it is my recommendation that all ingredients are sourced organic, non-gmo, and local when possible.

sunbutter cookies: www.blissfulbasil.com/soft-an...
potato soup: www.calicoandtwine.com/librar...
pumpkin chocolate chip muffins: www.calicoandtwine.com/blog/p...
pumpkin pierogi: i don't really follow a recipe for this except for the noodles, it's more of an intuition based recipe but here's what i do...
sourdough noodle dough: mix roughly 1 cup flour with about 1/2 cup of starter, adding a bit of water if too dry. ferment for a few hours before making.
filling: i make homemade garlic mashed potatoes and add in nutritional yeast, salt, pumpkin puree, and sage.
pierogi: roll out the noodles and cut into circles, adding filling, folding and pinching the edges to close them up. boil them for 1 minute and remove.
to serve: caramelize sweet onions in (dairy free) butter and herbs, and add in the pierogies to fry up and get crispy in more butter. top with kraut and some sort of mayo or sour cream. yum!
mushroom alfredo pasta: for the "alfredo sauce" i used my classic plant-based cheese sauce recipe: www.calicoandtwine.com/blog/v... but i ommited the carrots to give it more of an alfredo vibe
veggie broth: i loosely followed this recipe: wallflowerkitchen.com/gut-heal... but really just added in whatever veg i had on hand :)

"A seasonal and gentle lifestyle" will henceforth be my goal.
Well I feel like humans have lost their connection to the world God created for us! I feel like we have lost are ability to food we eat as well , since we don't pick it for are families anymore! And obesity is on the rise!
It's such a beautiful goal!
Amen.
I really really appreciate you talking about how it's not possible for everyone to be 100% self sufficient. So many otherwise nice and helpful vlogs/blogs/articles are ruined by the overwhelming entitlement and snobbishness people seem to feel because THEY have the ability to be 100% sustainable, so anyone who does any lesser is therefore terrible. People have disabilities that make it near impossible to garden very effectively, or financial issues that prevent them from buying the supplies they need to start, or a myriad of other issues. Your vlogs are so nice and cozy and don't presume anything of or on the viewer, no forcing products or ideas onto them, simply documenting a life and giving advice or explaination where helpful. You're now one of my new favorite vlog channels thank u
skylerdoesstuff lmao this clearly shows your negative mindset. I have never run into a video that was “ruined by the overwhelming entitlement and snobbishness” what a joke. People who are kind enough to share there self sufficient life aren’t there to run it in. Grow up and get your shit together.
Evwryone can be self sufficient. You just need to want to
Jessie Sarchet ironically your comment is overwhelmingly entitled and snobby.
I appreciate this 💚 I try my best to do whatever I can but with the health issues I have I never help to do big or strenuous tasks or I'll pass out cold and get hurt
Plus supporting we each other as a community is great 💛 maybe I don't have the stamina to maintain a big enough berry garden to supply what I need for the year's jam supply, but the farmer down the street does and will give me and my best friend a discount if we help pick them
And I can trade jam for eggs to someone else who has chickens
No man is an island
I would start small by building your canning jar collection . maybe once a month pick up a case or post online that your looking for jars . Then find yourself someone that knows how to can . Some farms will welcome the weekend help in exchange for produce . You wouldn't believe how many farm stands shut down because lack of help . Just be honest and sincere with your intentions . If you cant do manual labor then offer computer skills that you might have . believe me most farmers would love the extra help in that department . start there because if your looking to get into poultry or cattle or even goats ( you never stop learning ) you will to find people again to walk you along with the animals . That's a ton of work . lol all my stock are pets . Start a seed collection for your garden (seed swaps on facebook) When you tickle the earth with a hoe it will laugh with a harvest. I know corny farm joke . good luck to you start now your future self will thank you
Would you consider doing a video about how to plant and maintain a garden I’m clueless.
Ashley ooooh I’d love that!!! That’s a great idea 😄😄😄 have a wonderful day🥰 bless you
I agree, that would be really great! 🌻🌷🌻🌷👍
I totally agree I think she should do one
Plenty of videos about that on UA-cam LOL Why asking this girl to do something if all you need is search?
I have a playlist made, it has some productivity and good feels in it as well. I would also separately recommend Justin Rhodes (farmer/vlogger, has a full blown self sufficient farm now), Back To Reality (they focus on back to Eden, and organics.), The Rusted Garden (good garden information and seedlings), Gavin Webber (organics, fruit trees, raised beds, etc.), and last but not least, your own practice and experience.

I pray with all my heart to one day get just a small little house on a small piece of land to call my very own. I want to live just like this, all natural and gentle. I want to be self-sufficient with my own chickens for eggs and I'd love to make pottery and art & carpentered pieces for others. Such a blessed life of perfection, a dream life.
I want the same.
I wish you will make this dream happen one day
That’s my exact prayer everyday. Struggle with my thoughts on doing what I need to do and trying to make this happen (single mom life). Good luck to you!
I just want to know....can UA-cam channels be nominated for an Oscar? She has my vote! So relaxing and enchanting at the same time! Living here in LA, at this time with what's been going on the past week....I needed this! Thank you for giving me some peace today! I love and enjoy your channel! God bless!
Journey with Char watch Ondo, onuk, hyonyeo, etc..basically majority of Korean vloggers does this style of vlogging. And now that I found her, she's the first english-speaking vlogger that does this style. Subscribed immediately.✌🏻️
@@giomammina8965 You are so right, I already follow so many ( Rhea Y, haegreendal, Ivy Kitchen, nyangsoop, Wife's Cuisine and more) I enjoy this style of content! It is so beautiful and relaxing and just simple! Thank you so much, I will check her channel out!
Journey with Char Yess! Same here! I'm following them too. My stress reliever.
The 3 people I've mentioned btw are city girls though, but still loove them.
Kimi lives in countryside, check her out if u don't still.
I live near Los Angeles as well
It is like I have stepped back in time to Little House in the Big Woods...with the abundance of pumpkins and winter vegetables, your apron and dress, the simple crockery and wooden cutting boards...it is delicious and nourishing to the soul! The simplicity and depth of this slow and gentle living with nature and the seasons is absolutely what we need. Thank you for sharing your recipes with all of us. Everything looks so beautiful. I was delighted to see that you had a new video up tonight...thank you for adding magic to my evening. xo!
Indeed! Reminds me somehow of Anne of Green Gables ♡♡
ahhhh! this is so kind and the absolute best compliment! thank you so much ✨✨
girl in calico 🥰❤️❤️❤️
Yes to everything - if ever we needed this, it is in this dystopic bizarre society we live today.
Ah man, I was raised on those books, as well as poverty, so we grew food and canned. My dream is to be able to grow, cook, and craft anything I would need for comfort survival.
I live in the suburbs, just a small 3 bedroomed house with an average front and back garden...this Summer my little garden has provided at least 80% of our produce. We still have potatoes to dig, corn to harvest and tomatoes coming on. We grow as much as possible and preserve a lot too. It's a lot of work but so worth it. Nothing beats that taste of homemade...Blessings 😊
I'm from Poland and I used to make pierogi with my grandmother as a child. It's a shame to admit I've never tried to do this by myself, it's time to try! :) All the best ;*
Once I have finished my degree I will move back to my home "village" and move into a cottage in the woods and I will maintain a lifestyle just like yours!
How lucky! I hope you have fun :)
Your aesthetic gives me life! I can only hope to have half as much of a visual style on my channel. Keep going you’re an inspiration!
Gleaux Fits ❤️☀️
I am suprised that you actually call dumplings correct as a pierogi, not as a pierogies as a lot of people do. Love your aesthetic and as a Polish gril - good job with pierogi. They look amazing!
aww! thank you!! ✨✨
In russian it is "vareniki". The filling may consist potato, cheese, cherry, strawberry and so on. Boil vareniki in hot water. Eat sweet vareniki with sour cream or honey.
Bon appetit!
I bet the fruit filled ones are delicious!
Your video making is becoming better. Truly is healing for the mind and heart. I come back to your channel to center my soul again, since i lose myself so easily in every day life. Thank you for creating and sharing x.
Cooking stresses me out, but you make it seem so peaceful I kinda want to try again.
Nothing sounds more joyous and rewarding than making meals year long from vegetables you've harvested from your own garden..
fun fact:
whenever you put the song you used in description box i download it. and when i am in my peaceful time i played it. it's really help me so thanks so much ♡
Lovely... Everytime I watch your videos, I am genuinely fascinated by God's creation, you're such a blessing - the way you reveal HIS beauty. Thank you so much !
You’re so gentle, and encouraging… Couple that with the music and I am in a deeply relaxed state...and restored.
I love the mix of a voiceover and subtitles. The muffins look delicious!
thank you!!
Your videos give me the will to live!!
If you are looking for ideas then you could to a garden tour/tips video because I am looking to start one this spring ☺️🌻
it's currently summer in australia and i really struggle to find motivation to work on my garden in the summer heat. this video has reminded me that putting in a little extra work now will pay off in a huge way come winter
Merci pour les recettes, la vidéo, pour l'odeur d'hiver....
C'est trés vrai... merci beaucoup :D ♡♡🌼🌼
Gentle Lifestyle - that is a phrase I'm going to continue to use this entire new year of 2020 :)
Love how your food look rustic and authentically shown is homemade. I love shopping at farmers market and I hope I could corporate my own garden someday.
Your videos heal me on a spiritual level
oh my gosh the Bible quote at the end just made this even more perfect :0.
This video thawed my soul. loved it :)
Wisely said....doing the best that you can with what you have.💕 I started out much like you and can now say I’m happy that I did. I’m now feeding hungry teenage boys who appreciate homegrown/homemade food as much as my husband and I do. They’ve helped me in the garden & kitchen since they could get on a stool and reach the counter.😋 Praying there are young women out there ...like you... for them as they become old enough to start families of their own. It’s somewhat of a lost art & I’m happy to see that you are resurrecting it. Blessings for a continued bountiful and peaceful winter. Thank-you for sharing your gifts and talents with us😊
Your videos are such a peaceful time of my day. Love watching your bunny too. I had one till 3 months ago when he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Living a gentle, simple lifestyle is the best!! Blessings to you! ❤
Thank You for your hard work in creating these videos. Your channel really inspires me to have a Kingdom mindset and to continue to seek. I look forward to your videos and cannot wait for the next one. May your every step you take, be a step from Glory to Glory! Praying you Channel reaches the hearts that need it.
amen!! thank you so much for your prayers and encouragement ✨
So happy to see someone using the celery TOPS ! That’s where all the flavor is. !!!!!!! You and your videos are lovely.👍
i feel your videos always find and touch me right when I need. Just so much visual peace.
i Love how you express you old life styles & also your Faith! your voice is also just so soft, and calming. and the music makes me want o fall asleep, i Love playing your videos when im getting ready to go to bed! or when im working out in the garden! God Bless you, and keep up the good work! ❤. ✝🕊
I am from Poland I can't even make Pierogi, shame on me 😳 anyway, I love how your videos made me feel, like home I've never had but always dreamt of...
I'm Polish, so I can say that your pierogi looks fantastic. I'm enchanted by beauty of your video :)
I gotta thank the UA-cam algorithm God's for this one 👌🏼
Just when I think your videos couldn't get any better, they do!! Thank you so much for reminding us all that there is such beauty in simplicity. Much love from a Canadian who appreciates the beauty of winter!!
Winter is coming in the southern hemisphere! I'm watching this looking forward to the very warm and cozy meals I will make this year 😊
My polish heart is melting ❤️ pierogi with cabbage, oh i love you even more ❤️❤️❤️
You do such a wonderful job at such a young age! You should be very proud of yourself!☺️ It’s really very refreshing to see a young girl embracing womanhood so gracefully! I’m twice your age and I love ❤️ my kitchen days and I’ve also learned much from you! Please continue on with this as I can tell you have a real passion for it! Also if you haven’t already would you consider doing a home tour? The simplicity and beauty of your home is probably amazing!😊 Thank you for the wonderful video! See u next time!
I second that! A home tour please!!
Home Tour Please
How old is she ?
A home tour would be wonderful, please!
I was a hot mess in my early 20s. I have a lot of respect for this girl.
Polish cuisine is full of seasonal food, preserves preserved in jars, memories of summer in anticipation of the new season.
Thanks for calling dumplings PIEROGI ✨ and not ravioli. Those in your performance look delicious. You should try pierogi ruskie!!
It's very welcome to hear that not being able to grow all of your food doesn't mean you haven't done enough. As someone who is disabled I am not able to help my husband as much as I'd like with the physical aspects of the food gardening once the plants are out of their starter pots and into the ground. Sadly a lot of our first attempts failed last year due to various weather issues and we bought some things from a local farm to freeze and get us through. It's nice to know that we are not the only ones who have to do that. I'm also looking forward to trying to make the fermented noodle dough.
The moment you publish a cookbook, I’m purchasing!! 😍 Love it all and SO wish I could pull up a chair. 😊❤️
I just discovered your channel and I absolutely love it. It’s so calm and beautiful and one day I hope to have a life similar to this. Unfortunately I can’t be totally off the grid, nor can I be completely self sufficient because I have some health problems and idk how that will be down the road. But I can only hope that I can take care of my health right now, so that I can achieve living a life like this. Because in the end, this is what I want and I intend to get it, one day.
This video nourished my soul on its own, I can't imagined how I'll feel once I'll try all this amazing recipes ! God bless you and your amazing artistic job ! xx
Love your voice and how peaceful this video was. Subscribed. :)
Another beautiful video Kaetlyn! Thank you for sharing your slow living with us :)
We had a bunny for 10 years, she loved the fresh produce I gave her! Even now, as I cut things up I think I need to set some aside for her! 😻❤️🐰
Just a thought for your rabbit. Grow sprouts or microgreens that are full of nutrition and animals love them. No special lighting needed, just water. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing your life with us. 💕
I just love you! You have inspiried me to start a garden this year with my children. My life is half over (I am 41) but maybe I can instill that joy into them. Watching you make bread today on Imbolc was heartwarming. My kids are keto so bread making today will be tricky.
it turns out that winter food is just polish food :)
pumpkin soup, pierogi, sauerkraut and even bread looked like polish one
True.
This is such a soft and gentle video. I hope the people snapping at each other have calmed down and can understand we all have different circumstances. 🙏
Thank you for encouraging us to enjoy winter in a sweeter and simpler way ❤️❄️❤️
There is a season for every purpose under heaven.😊❤
So I'm new to this channel. It wasn't until 1:58 that I realized that this young miss was not speaking metaphorically lol I'm sitting here like "Wow! She dropping some real gems of wisdom on us!" 😅
Thank you for sharing your winter kitchen and lovingly thought of recipes.
Just discovered your channel. My daughters (4 and 2) and I are in love! Your videos are so calming to watch! Thank you!
Just found your channel and I love everything you have done. It is like stepping back to a simpler time. Peaceful and wholesome. Can’t wait to see more things on your videos . I love all the this and the lifestyle you have chosen.
After watching most of your videos I have started a slower morning routine; well slower on the weekends. My Monday thru Friday routine isn't as slow as I would like but slower than before. So thankyou
Thank you so much for sharing your winter kitchen with us! It's definitely so calming and soothing to watch and also hear your voice. 🤗 I'm definitely going to try the veggie broth, I didn't know you could freeze them, what a fantastic tips to learn. Thank you, Kaetlyn!
A sweet life! Your a gentle soul. Love your channel. I have only watched you for a short time. 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
This gluten free polack misses pierogi SO MUCH! Your preparation looked so delicious!!
My grandparents house it’s just like your kitchen and that he walked into the house from the back yard and there was the steps down to the basement in front of you then you would turn to your left up a short flight of stairs and be in the kitchen. I love your videos, your filming is so beautiful- the colors in the music and especially the scripture! thank you so much!
I am so grateful for what you share with us, and the time and care that you take to do so! I appreciate you sharing how everyone can do little things in any lifestyle to live a more simple lifestyle. I especially appreciate your use of plant-based ingredients too, and of course nutritional yeast!
thank you so much!! ✨
I love the idea of using jars to store everything, but I haven't tried freezing for fear of breaking when they come out. I might just be paranoid.
Only use canning jars
Don’t fill but leave 2” headspace
You’ll be good to go
This is truly the life I wish to have.
A slow living life that is determined through the seasons and the weather and what I have. I can't quite do this just yet, I can't wait for the day I have my own home on my own land to live this way.
Thank you so so much for this video!
Your videos are by far the most beautiful videos I have seen on UA-cam... every of them gives me such a warm and gentle feeling. I love it 🤍🕯
Yours are becoming my most anticipated videos on UA-cam. Beautiful in every way.
Thank you, Kaetlyn, for sharing your slow and simple videos and creativity ♡
I love the phrase "gentle lifestyle" that was in this video. that is a quote to remember :)
I made the potato soup today and it was delicious!!! Thank you !! 💘💘
Hey girl, your videos are always so heart-warming and I am just smiling all the time during the watching. Love your slow way of life and thank you for all the recipes and guides, how to improve myself in this way of life :)

My cousin sent me here,,, love it so far!!!
It is always a joy to see a notification for one of your videos in the morning, and you never disappoint in the quality and content. You are a blessing to many (including me). Thank you so much for what you do, how you do it, and for sharing it with us.

Seasonal eating is a huge part of living in harmony within ourselves! Love this video, thanks for sharing 🤗
Your life style is my cup of tea 💆♀️
LOVED this vid! I have arugula growing close to my lemon tree. I planted one big flowering plant last summer and now It’s growing like a beautiful carpet around my lemon tree😍That vegetable broth you made reminded me of a similar recipe I found called mineral soup. It had those veggies and I believe it was nori or another type of seaweed plant. It was so delicious. Right now I’m into pickling😜I’ve pickled red onions and dark beets. Baby steps😃
I’ve learned so much from watching your videos for the past few months ! Keep doing what your doing!
From the very start of this video. I loved it. Thanks for posting.
I just discovered your channel & ❤️ your videos!! I am a city girl who has been blessed to live a rural country lifestyle for the past 20 years. I’m still learning to slow down and live a simpler more sustainable life. Thanks for sharing your videos.
I'm from England in the UK and I have just found your channel. I was bought up on Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons. You take me back a bit and make me feel good. I love your calm voice and common sense xxx 😊🌹♥️
I’m so glad your channel popped up in my recommendations. As a lover of Little House on the Prairie and Anne of Green Gables, this is heavenly to me 😊
Your videos one of the best things that happened to me this year ♥️♥️
Thank you for sharing your beautiful plant based meals wit us ! Everything is so meat based on utube videos usually . It's thrilling to see your plant based diet , and how delicious ,and simple it all looks !!
I’d love to see a recipe for how you make your bread 💕
I agree!
YES! PLEASE 🙏🏽

I am OBSESSED with your channel. 💗 Just thought you should know
you and @TheCottageFairy are my fav youtubers. i feel so relaxed and happy watching your videos
I so enjoy watching this! Learned a thing or two as well, thank you. 🥰
Heavenly Winter Kitchen.
I just found your channel and you've change me in 2 minutes
I'm really grateful for these kinds of video's. We happen to live on a farm, and even though it is living out in the country. It is still very busy and noisy much of the time , especially with the tractors and cows when the call for food in the morning. I long to live deeper in the remotest part of the countryside with a few acres of land outside my cottage. Living a life like this where I am self sufficient as I can possibly be. Thanks for the inspiration to keep on dreaming.
It all looks SO delicious!! Can't wait to be in a place where I can begin to live more seasonally as well!
Loving your videos! All the food looks amazing 💜 thank you for sharing!
Love all the calm vibes❤️
