As a little girl growing up in Paris, one of the first things I remember is my mom signing me up for ballet school. We eventually realized I couldn't pirouette without getting vertigo, so ballet was not the right career choice for me! However it left me with a consciousness of my posture throughout my life. @modtomodern it's quite a wonderful thing that you were not the parent of either of those 3 exceptional dancers and there are many. I really hope you aren't a parent - attitude like yours destroys children's hopes, dreams not to mention self-confidence. Do this platform & the world a favour - keep that toxic attitude to yourself 👎
Thank you for your comment about no distracting background music. I have found on occasion that the background music becomes more of the foreground. Too loud, and I struggle to hear what the presenter has to say.
I've never considered myself elegant or classy, thinking that pertained to the wealthy, the socialites, and beautiful models. What a surprise to find I've been aspiring to and practicing "elegant" choices for years. My inspiration was spiritual, gleaning character values from the Bible. A video on posture is a great idea! All this lockdown time - for me it's being hunkered over a laptop. Posture can look stooped in a few months. Good posture would be great training! First off, I'd suggest putting a sticker on one's full-length (maybe the bedroom) mirror. And check it out constantly during the day on your GOOD posture. That might help keep it forefront on one's mind. :)
Classy & elegance are always in vogue no matter your age. I wish I dressed like this in my youth (under 35) so I attracted the right kind of man. I’m now middle-aged & noticed that a very well dressed lady doesn’t attract low class men. Sorry if that sounds pretentious, it’s not my intention. It’s just something I learned as a wiser female. ;)
I would really appreciate a video on good posture... at 64 I've found that my posture has gradually changed and I would love any tips that would help me to improve it.
I enjoyed this video on classy outfits. At the end you wondered if people are interested in a posture video. I know I am as I can feel my shoulders and back are curved, or slouched.
NOTHING fits right on any woman not built like an ironing board these days. Prime reason why i'm learning to sew - I have a 'weird' body shape.. i mean it's not weird - i am perfectly human shaped, but i'm not some die-cut fashion template. i have a waist that goes in and boobs that go out and according to shops you can't be both. God help you if you have a swayback. Sick of forking for things that 'will do' because i've resigned myself to low standards.
@@ImTash omg we're so alike! I learned to sew for the same reason and my oh my, how it's revolutionised my entire wardrobe and look! Couldn't agree with you more :) hope you're enjoying your sewing journey!
I have 90 cm in bust and 76 waist - I was able to buy perfectly fitting white shirt in H&M, but it was years ago. Lastly I bought another one in second hand - it's from M&S. So miracles happen, but not so often ;)
I will often have my alterations lady put darts in my shirts that don’t have them. Not much money at all or I have put them in myself, very easy to do.
Yes to a video on posture - please do! Also, would very much like to see you talk more about manicures and I am generally confused on shoes, boots, heels, wedges and flats.
Would love a posture video, I was 5' 6" in 7th grade and very self conscious about being taller than all of the boys and most of the girls in my class. So, I developed poor posture. My mother was constantly telling me she was going to put me in a brace. To this day I have to remind myself to stand up straight, slouching is a terrible habit!
I love this video - look put together really makes a difference. There are many videos out there regarding styling - this one is more useful than any suggestions on what to buy😍
Qualified ballet teacher! RAD method? Very interesting. Many would benefit from a posture video especially since many have their heads buried in a laptop or phone.
Really enjoyed this video Gemma, thank you. And I’d love to see your help on posture too please. It was drummed into me when I took ballroom dancing classes but that was a long time ago so it won’t hurt to have some reminders! 👍😊xx
Oh dear! I'm a riot of colour and patterns, especially flowers. Yet, I do love the muted palettes, monochrome, and colour block looks. They are far more sophisticated than my childish, not quite stylish enough for boho, mix and unmatched separates

I'm still in my 30s, but this is excellent advice for anyone who looks to appear more classy and put together at any age, I think.
It’s just something I learned as a wiser female. ;)
Excellent. Yes on the posture video. We all need reminding now and then. Another sign of an elegant woman is her voice and how she speaks.
What ever happened to bust darts in those classic white shirts? A straight shirt doesn’t fit right on a curvy woman.
Hello, how are you doing, hope your staying safe?
Yes, we would love you to do a ballet dancers posture guide video.
Please.
Thank you very much.
I love this video - look put together really makes a difference. There are many videos out there regarding styling - this one is more useful than any suggestions on what to buy😍

@@bryancooker6399 hi, yes, sure
@@catharinacamenisch752 oh that good to know…..So where are you from?
Qualified ballet teacher! RAD method? Very interesting. Many would benefit from a posture video especially since many have their heads buried in a laptop or phone.
Really enjoyed this video Gemma, thank you. And I’d love to see your help on posture too please. It was drummed into me when I took ballroom dancing classes but that was a long time ago so it won’t hurt to have some reminders! 👍😊xx
Hello, how are you doing, hope your staying safe?
Oh dear! I'm a riot of colour and patterns, especially flowers. Yet, I do love the muted palettes, monochrome, and colour block looks. They are far more sophisticated than my childish, not quite stylish enough for boho, mix and unmatched separates

Love all your style videos, Gemma. Your style really speaks to me- so classy. I'm a new subscriber, and have binge watched many of them. I've learned so much from you: how to put together a classic, timeless look. I'd love a posture video as well. Thank you for all the effort you put into these informative, concise videos.
