I'm guessing not, but are you going to make an update on this now that Mike posted a guitar playthrough of it? It looks like the main riff is different
Most likely not. He plays the riff slightly different but the notes are still the same. Some have commented about the slide in the riff, but the notes are the same, just sliding in from a smaller distance. All my covers I learn by ear so there is going to be small variations between how I play it and how the bands play it but the notes should be pretty accurate. Yeah, I did this by ear before Mike released the guitar playthrough. Note for note it’s pretty accurate, I just play it slightly different 🤘🏼🎸
How do you get those 5-7-10 chords in the chorus to not get lost in the distortion? I lose the tone and it's just a distortionish mess lol
I definitely recommend palm muting that section and to articulate the notes. I keep my guitar on there bridge pickups and the amp is dialed in with a little more treble. You can also try a noise gate in your chain if you just have too much feedback. Hope that helps 🤘🏼🖤
@@ronriffs thanks, I honestly think it's just my amp sim. I love some of the effects from the Neural DSP Petrucci but I can NEVER get a good tone out of that thing. I have smaller hands so the stretch is hard on those but I just tune my 7 string to Drop A and use Neural DSP to drop it down to Drop F#. So the strings aren't noodles.
@@TheRedAnvil40 I do the same thing. I think my guitar was tuned to drop G# or drop A and I tune down with my fractal fm3. I haven’t tried any of neural dsp plugins. That’s surprising though, I’ve heard great things about them. Although, I would never switch from fractal. It’s a beast and I prefer a physical unit.
