Hopefully you guys come to your senses. Keep that car together. Let Freddy find you another engine or he just buys the car back from you. It should be restored as is.
Because that transmission was originally mounted upside down, now the slave cylinder for the clutch is upside down and the bleeder is on the bottom instead of the top. So you’re not going to get all the air out of it the way it is. You need to take it off and turn it right side up so the bleeder is the highest point then bleed it and reinstall it.
gotta say im disappointed to hear the end of the vid where you all are gonna split it, was really looking forward to you getting this car up and running, think it would be a solid new series on the channel but yeah. enjoyed the couple vids we got. great work to get it as far as you did tho! props.
Same, I was really looking forward to this thing getting the Alex awesome treatment. I think that replica has it's own awesome story and clearly had a bunch of talent behind it's build originally. Sad to see it being torn down.
gotta remember it's a car that's been sitting for 10+ years out in the open and no car even in a barn runs and drives properly after that amount of time plus with the way it was setup it wasn't going to run properly to begin with so honestly better for them to cut their losses and replace everything rather than fight it and get nowhere
Unfortunately, the cost and time involved required to get it roadworthy, simply wouldn't be practical. That probably why it sat abandoned for so long out in the weather.
I agree with you. For a normal guy it wouldn't make sense to save it but LSC is all about projects like this. I hope the channel generates enough for Alex to take on projects like this.
Alex, don't let Freddie talk you into giving up on this car, please. What an awesome little car it is. It is one of those "one of one" cars you are always looking for. If you bleed it properly by taking out the slave and turning it right side up like many of the commenters suggest, it may get out all the air and start working. If not, even if you had to buy the $450 slave brand new it would be totally worth it IMHO. Your viewers love this car, please keep it the way it is and make it roadworthy.
Personally, kit or not, $35K for a replica that's rust riddled throughout and in such deplorable condition… Not worth it, and it does look cheaply made. I've seen the real thing and it's nothing like this replica. They did some things right, but cheap'd out in others. This car won't be worth the time and money it requires to make it a LSC quality build.
I had a buddy that couldn't clear codes on a 88 crx si 0bd0 and told him u can clear it with a jumper wire and he didn't do it sold it for 1000 and could have gotten 5-7 .long story short the kid that bought it did what I said and fired it eight up infront of my boy and cried watching it pull away .car ran no problem after ..don't give up small things make a difference
I built this car never got paid for the labor and alit of parts. This car sit outside and went to hell for 2 years. So many peopme have screwed with this since I seen it who knows? I had the transmission in and out 9 times when the manufacture was developing the adapter and trans set up.
Not gonna happen, it's even less likely to ever run again once it's been divested of its powerplant. This is the last time you'll ever see that car move out of the back of Freddy's boneyard.
Hey Alex one thing I noticed- the bleeder screw is at the bottom on that slave cylinder. It may not be getting all the air out of it. I wonder if it was flipped over possibly? I know that's not the actual problem, but definitely can make a difference in the feel. Also please drive this thing back home! Lol
I hope you keep it, Alex. I can just see it now… dial it in mechanically, total detail makeover, exhaust from OJ, dyno from cannonball, LSC Diablo plate 😎
I really like your process of diagnosis and repair - the main reason why your videos are so engaging and worth watching. Honestly, I think it would be a mistake to separate this car from its engine & transmission. There's clearly a reasonable amount of both body & electrical work, and also engine & transmission work, and I can imagine a great series of videos which addresses these areas and their problems, working with Freddy & Jack, and ending up with a unique car that is worth more then the sum of its parts, particularly in its place in automotive history - eg, the legal wrangles with Lamborghini.
Gotta admit, this is one of your cooler cars, American V8 power (and little problems) with cool Italian styling at a decent price! Thinking this deserves a complete frame off restoration. Then I heard it is going to be "parted out" sorry but that was a kick in the gut!
They probably have an actual Lamborghini engine to go in there. They've bought enough wrecks, there may be an extra one they can swap in there, maybe out of a newer car
@@bgee461 unless Freddy is going to swap in a more modern Lambo v12+trans and lets Jack rework the body, I don't see how that chassis becomes something better than what it was designed to be. At least the engine will get used. Freddy is just going to put that body in the back of his shop and let it rot, no point in wasting a perfectly good engine. Maybe one day it will be on the wall of Freddy's workshop next to the other non functional thing that looks like a supercar. I'll eat a hat of your choosing if that thing ever gets on the road again, Freddy's workshop is Hotel California for supercars, it saddens me that it's not going to Alex because he actually fixes things instead of pushing them to the back of the workshop for him to possibly pay someone else to fix. I doubt a fake Diablo is going to generate enough revenue to justify paying someone else to fix it, it's sad watching the funeral of a car that I've been following for a long time, especially when I was expecting it to get a new lease on life.
Having just dealt with a g50 transmission which is what I believe is in that, it has be bled using 20psi of pressure, open the bleed valve then slowly push the clutch pedal to the floor, let it sit for about 60 seconds at pressure then close the bleed. It’s a Porsche thing… haha good luck with it, it’s a pretty sweet transmission.
I know that it is time consuming, but I would like to see you fix the driveability issues and try the drive home and have a video documentary of the adventure/misadventures along the way. This would help all of us that consider something like this with any make/model year....but yours is truly exotic!😀
Such a shame you're giving up on the car, someone clearly put a lot of love in the car at some point i was hoping to see it restored to its former glory
For the first time in over a year I’m not getting to your video until Sunday night. I spent yesterday afternoon and then this morning doing a full paint correction and Avalon King Ceramic coat on my 2007 F150, man it looks great! I should have done this when I first bought it 18 months ago! Was very nervous but after watching your videos (and some others) I felt confident enough to give it a shot! Thanks @legitstreetcars, your tutorials and videos made it very easy Alex! Love what you do! Not far from you may need to make a trip up there at some point!
Man I really wish you'd keep this one and give it the LSC treatment. Would be an awesome series to see getting it sorted mechanically, detailed, a custom exhaust from OJ and top it off with a solid tune. Then at the end if it just doesn't fit right in your collection, you could sell it to a viewer or another enthusiast who would continue to give the car the love it deserves
Patience, perseverance, and your fine mind - a winning combination for success! I’m 79 and I watch your videos to remind me to exercise the 1st two…and because I enjoy the heck out of them. They also bring back many long-lost memories. Thank you, be well
Out of all the cars a guy has, this one, should be cherry-ed out and brought to it's peak level of performance to see if it can compare to the real thing.
The real thing is awd and way out of this hunk of junks league. 99% of all kit cars are just trash, especially second hand and in non running non safe condition.
Totally understand the ending. The way i see it is cars like that, with that much effort obviously invested, dont end up sitting because the slave is upside down.. theres far, FAR more needed to get that working properly and i think the slave is the thin end of the wedge. Look forward to seeing what comes of the parts on yours and Freddie's channels
I liked (like) the project. No accidents, working doors, proper roof carrier, and it really is good looking. Great job in the time you had. I noticed that when you got it running, the mechanics in the shop were amazed and impressed, and rightly so. I thank you again for providing an exciting, fun filled Saturday morning.
This is why I continue to watch this channel. Well done, Alex; amazing mechanic. Love watching you figure everything out. I cannot wait to see this power plant in a vehicle again!!
IIRC, VT stands for Viscous Traction. The Diablo VT was essentially the first AWD Lamborghini super car. It essentially used the same AWD setup as the LM002 which used a viscous center differential, hence the Viscous part of VT.
I would have like to see Alex get the whole car home and go hard! Make it run, drive, sound more like a Lambo and look more like a lambo by working on the details.
Alex, I think you're crazy for not continuing with the project! I was really excited to see the next installment! Would be such a fun build for the channel. It's so unique and the engagement would be huge! In any case, thanks for the great vid as always.
As a car channel, you're truly something else. You allow me to peek into a crazy world of cars I'd run from trying to repair. But here, safely behind my screen, I can watch the shenanigans. If I had the money, I'd pay $35k to NOT have someone 'give' me that car. Props for your bravery!
I think this car is worth having shipped to Chicago . Pull the drive train out and do a DeLorean style restoration on it. Do rust reformer and textured undercoating. Go through all the wiring and possibly even get a Fuel Tech or a Holley ECU. Touch up and paint the engine bay, clean up the interior and that nasty looking steering wheel. This is definitely a project us as viewers would be exited about. Not only is it a cool car but it's a smart business decision with story behind the vehicle and the hands it's been in. Hopefully we see this car get the full LSC restoration because it's already a good replica and with the LSC treatment it'll be the best looking one in the world.
Absolutely by far the best part of this otherwise depressing video about the last days of a car that I really wanted to see run and drive again for a very long time. Thanks for that bit of humor.
You should do an 06/07 Chevy cobalt SS supercharged build next ! Love those cars not super expensive to buy tons of aftermarket support ! The Diablo is sick though !
Alex at the end of the day you already put out so much great content you don’t owe us this car (or really anything). It’s unfortunate you couldn’t drive it back but it is what it is. Keep putting out the fantastic content, we’ll be here.
This whole lambo thing was disappointing honestly just can't bring my self to watch it .. I enjoyed his older projects because he use to finish them now he's all over the place
@@mikibajrektarevic2543 Slight exaggeration. Alex has finished plenty of projects. So a couple of them don't go to plan - that's because he's choosing some very dicey projects. But Alex's project turnover and rate of success is well ahead of most UA-camrs.
@@mikibajrektarevic2543 totally finishes projects. That's a hallmark of the channel. He did have to let the space van go, but that was never meant to be roadworthy in the first place. I agree this was a disappointing ending.
Need to see a collab with @LegitStreetCars and @ViceGripGarage First thought, a dual-car classic car rescue. Both rescue a vehicle in the same geographic location and then they swap the vehicles and have to drive the other's home!! I would love to see this. Love both of yall!
Derrick will have his newest project, the C10 in a car show before Alex gets the fake Diablo in one, . That's because Derrick will get his running and be happy where Alix wants everything fixed. Derrick would say the dirt gives it character and Alex would spend a week cleaning everything! LOL I don't know if you are old enough to remember "The Odd Couple" tv show. That's what you would have. I love them both.🤣
@@TurnThePage7800I think that's the itch I'm trying to scratch here! They both have such a great personality and genuinely love people, cars, history, and fixing things! That's why I suggested they have to drive the other's home and then fix it their own way again and give or sell them off to fans! Imagine getting a vehicle that both put their own little touches on? I would melt haha
If someone can do something serious with that car it is you, Alex, so take the commitment and make a full rebuild of the car just the way it came. I believe it’s gonna be a great build for your channel.
You should have totally fully repaired this. You’re a great mechanic. You could have gotten it fully dialed, and used as a track car. That would have been awesome!
Alex is a hell of a mechanic. I've never seen anyone do such complicated work with such a good disposition. He is my second favorite mechanic after Derek Bieri
i hope you keep this fake lambo together and fix it. it has been passed by a lot of youtubers and i think you are the one that can actually fix it properly. it might take quite a while to actually fix it properly but it will be a great series and i think, from what i read on some comments, we are all in for the long haul for this series with the fake lambo which i hope you call "dia-blue". cant wait for the next update on "dia-blue" and hopefully its in the legit street quarters!
I personally think the split idea for the car is a great idea. It fits both of your niches, and also allows Alex to continue working on the big projects he already has!
I’m like 50% with Alex, the AMG wagons are awesome, the trans am, the hellcat, all good stuff. But the Delorean, the space van, the LS Porsche, and now this bucket… not so sure
Just split it. Tavarish is more of an exotic kinda guy and you are more of a 90's Pontiac kinda guy. Do what suits you and we are here for it.❤ I would love to see more weird stuff from the 80's and 90's. There are already enough exotic car builders out there. Stay true to yourself.👍🏻😊
The issue that Ford Focus has is related to a loose connection/wire in the dashboard ! You have to remove the speedometer and check there. A friend of mine had that same issue and one guy that knows well the Focus model get straight behind the speedometer/dashboard and redo that connection. Seems weird but it worked ! You can tell Freddy that !
Im so broken up now.....i guess Italy is off the bucket list of places to visit because i can't get all the bread sticks that i want! 😂 That was such a great "throw in" on this video! I really enjoy your channel Alex! Keep up the great work. Shout out from NC.
SOOO satisfying to see Alex diagnose and repair these "simple" issues (ie. clutch hydraulics) that are holding up the whole project! Well, almost anyway. Next... As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇

Hopefully we see this car get the full LSC restoration because it's already a good replica and with the LSC treatment it'll be the best looking one in the world.
Really bummed that you're not going to take this car home and finish it. I was looking forward to you getting it all sorted and detailed.
NGL, the end news felt like a kick in the balls.
Now I know more about the comment I read earlier that said: Most disappointing LSC episode ever!.! AGREED!
I'd love to see you complete it as is
Dont give up on it! It matches your channel so well
41:43 🤣Max, I had to pause the video and take an 2nd look at your Jack / Alex N'Sync mashup. Perfection!👏
I like dropping little Easter eggs like that lol
Alex was nearly in tears laughing while watching that scene the other day during our final edit!
Probably the most disappointing ending to a LSC video I've seen.
too big of a project anyway, it would take forever to sort it out...
Need a tissue!? No whining
@@mikibajrektarevic2543 totally finishes projects. That's a hallmark of the channel. He did have to let the space van go, but that was never meant to be roadworthy in the first place. I agree this was a disappointing ending.
Need to see a collab with @LegitStreetCars and @ViceGripGarage
First thought, a dual-car classic car rescue.
2 completly different personalities…..probably end with a fist fight honestly!!!
Oh man, i was really looking forward to seeing you finish that car! That's a real shame 😮
i hope you keep this fake lambo together and fix it. it has been passed by a lot of youtubers and i think you are the one that can actually fix it properly. it might take quite a while to actually fix it properly but it will be a great series and i think, from what i read on some comments, we are all in for the long haul for this series with the fake lambo which i hope you call "dia-blue". cant wait for the next update on "dia-blue" and hopefully its in the legit street quarters!
I’ve literally been sat here waiting for this lot drop.
Thanks brother!
I personally think the split idea for the car is a great idea. It fits both of your niches, and also allows Alex to continue working on the big projects he already has!
Dude no! You're so close! I think we'd all love to see you finish it. This is the best fake Lambo made. It deserves to live!
6:24 I was 100% expecting it not to shoot off lol
Love how you dont have music in the videos....just non stop action no need for music love it
Nnnno don't give up @Alex , we all have faith in you to fix this car and make it look beautiful, you can do it.
👍👍👍
I’m like 50% with Alex, the AMG wagons are awesome, the trans am, the hellcat, all good stuff. But the Delorean, the space van, the LS Porsche, and now this bucket… not so sure
1000% - You and I cannot be the only ones who see it that way, I hope...
You Crack me up Alex.....spends 35k on fake Lamborghini but don't wanna spend 460 on slave cylinder lol
Slave is upside down, have to bleed right side up somehow!
Probably pressure bleed it by pumping fluid into the system from the bleed port.
Paraphrasing: "I think with three more hours and some clutch cylinders I could have driven it home, so I decided to part it out."
That’s too bad. I was really looking forward to watching this series even if you had to ship it or trailer it back to your shop.
It’s not that bad 😂
Gotta love Alex's Can Do, Get R Done, attitude and great sense of humor! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Sad to see it go.
Im so broken up now.....i guess Italy is off the bucket list of places to visit because i can't get all the bread sticks that i want! 😂 That was such a great "throw in" on this video! I really enjoy your channel Alex! Keep up the great work. Shout out from NC.
Please Finnish this. We're all invested in this now.
sad to see that you arent keeping it
SOOO satisfying to see Alex diagnose and repair these "simple" issues (ie. clutch hydraulics) that are holding up the whole project! Well, almost anyway. Next... As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Freddy headquarters... Fredquarters. You fumbled that one Alex.
34:35 Back to the future head butt was classic 😂
