    I am incredible thankful for all your posing videos Vanessa! I had to 'jump in' to take pictures of a couple on their wedding day, since they couldn't find anyone who had free time with a short notice. I did it, because I knew how bad it is to be worried about your happiest day, I don't want anyone that to happen. So anyway I am just a hobby photograph, - with other subjects than people- so I have been preparing a lot with your videos, super thankful for you being here for us 🙏😊My pictures turned out great, especially great for first ever wedding. ❤Greetings, Judit

    Curious to know do you shoot weddings manually or usually aperture priority? Reason being that must of the images are portraits. Alas, what’s the easiest wedding you ever shot with or without assisted shooters? What made so easy? Equipment or the couples?

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  8 місяців тому +2

      Manual. And the easiest weddings are always the one where the couple has a natural chemistry and overall pleasant demeanor. It could be the most physically taxing day, and I could have equipment failures all day long but if I truly love and enjoy the people and photographing none of the rest of matters.

    I’m Curious, I’ve seen a few of your videos and I have to ask, other than Versatility what is the difference in quality between the rf 50 1.2 vs the rf 28-70 f2. The reason why I ask because I’m returning my rf 50 1.2 for the 28-70 f2 for portrait work. I absolutely love the 50 1.2 for portrait in a controlled setting. I mean the pictures come out so sharp with beautiful bokeh and stunning colors and it’s breaking my heart to return such a fine piece of glass. Also In you’re opinion do you think the 28-70 f2 is worth the switch if you we’re only doing portrait work?

    To provide constructive feedback and contribute to the channel, I noticed that you often take photos from above, which makes your subjects, especially the brides and grooms, appear shorter (this can be seen in your photos). It's important to shoot from a lower angle to elongate the subjects. However, I really appreciated the tips; well done!

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  8 місяців тому +3

      When working with models or when fine tuning posing sure - but with non-models and emotion-based posing it’s better to shoot at a higher angle to hide potential double chins and enlarge the eyes and facial expressions

    • @oscavalcantefotografia8022
      @oscavalcantefotografia8022 8 місяців тому

      @@VanessaJoy I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. I am a third-generation wedding photographer, and I learned this principle from my grandfather early on. Besides being a fundamental rule of photography, shooting from above can make a person appear shorter. There are appropriate techniques to conceal double chins and other potential imperfections, which can also be delicately addressed in post-production editing. If the photographer were to deliver photos from my wedding that made me look shorter (since I'm not particularly tall), I would be quite upset. Please don't take offense at my observation; it's purely a technical point.

    Beautiful picture but that's the problem with them is that they are fake. Fake posing though look good is not real life or how people react in real life. Wedding photography should be without any posing and hope you capture a moment or moments when the bride and groom are not aware that you taking photos of them.

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  2 роки тому +1

      I’m going to guess you’re not a wedding photographer 😉

    • @andreiiasi
      @andreiiasi 2 роки тому

      @@VanessaJoy Not the kind that tell people what to do or how to pose because that would be FAKE, however there are times when I have to give light guidance especially when it comes to family photos at a wedding. Some grandmas don't really understand where to stand. Most newly weds react much better and seam much happier seeing photos taken without their awareness than at the photos that they're posing. I am speaking from experience watching them seeing the photos once they are edited and delivered. However there is a time and a place for posing. And that's mostly for a fashion shoot or for a magazine.😏

    • @rickrowell8465
      @rickrowell8465 Рік тому

      @@VanessaJoy Yeah I know, but it still a bit lazy on the part of the photographer I think. Their are so many ways and places the hands can go and still look natural and connecting. One of the photographers I studied with in the 80's was big on not having the men in the photos with their hands in their pockets. I guess that's where I got it from. I have sometimes let the groom put his hand partially in his pocket while still showing his thumb and or part of his fingers. But never the whole hand up to the wrist. Just doesn't look right to me. But that's part of the art of photography, it's all subjective. I do like your work very much and I enjoy watching your videos. I only do weddings once in a while these days. Most of my work has been in the television and celebrity area until just the last few years. Now it's mostly action sports from youth to pros and a wedding or special event here and there. Best of luck to you. ;-)
