I am about to go do my first-ever couples photoshoot with strangers and I am beyond nervous trying to prepare for it. This honestly helped so so much thank you for showing us that behind-the-scenes directing I feel a lot more prepared! Wish me luck haha
@@Dakren12 It was actually pretty fun! The couple was pretty awkward and goofy so it wasn't as romantic as I was planning for but I was able to get some really cute photos of them! So I'd say it was a win :)
This is honestly my favorite video! I never really seen someone give so much direction and also have so much fun with it! I love this! I've learned so much from this video. This is what I've been looking for!
I have a whole new respect for people who do such personal photo shoots. You're amazing! You've found a way to get them to relax without ever telling them to relax.
I kinda started giving up on photography because I didnt think I had it in me anymore. I have tried and tried and cant get these beautiful pictures due to editing but a big one posing. I LOVED how you explained to the couples how to pose and how easy it was to understand. I want to thank you for letting me come behind the scenes with you!
This is an excellent behind the scenes video! You have a great approach to interacting with your clients. It's always interesting to see how other photographers capture authentic expressions in their work.
Um- I have paid a LOT of money for posing courses.. and this right here was gold!! I love all your prompts to get your couples to interact and capture those genuine photos we are all after! This video totally made me tear up and want to go redo my last engagement session! Thank you for posting this! I am not on to watch everything of yours I can get my eyes on! THANK YOU!! I am forever changed after watching this.
Watching you coach the couple during the shoot was very helpful. You really know how to talk to the couple resulting in great photos. Loved the sunlight and field. Thank you!
Wow the photos really came out very good! The light is just right and their poses etc. I’m so speechless! Great job for both couples and the photographer!
Won't lie. I just found you and this video made me an immediate subscriber. I was smiling a lot while watching this. This made me so happy and I'm not usually one to smile like a fool for a whole photography video. But your personality and way with people are amazing. I look forwarding to going through this channel and seeing more. Incredibly helpful vid. Thank you :)
Jason Bodden Dane here. I just stumbled upon this video and I’m so glad I took the time to watch. She gives great directions and allows them to be natural and not forced which in turn gives her amazing photos
100% just motivated me to do so much more when i take pictures of couples. did my first shoot this weekend of a couple and i wish i watched this beforehand! thank you thank you
I never comment on videos. Ever. But I HAVE to say THANK YOU. Your behind the scenes are the absolute most helpful and incredible content I've seen to help a photographer looking for better images out of their Engagement/Couple session. I've been photographing for about 8 years, and after watching this before a shoot the other day, I was amazing at how much it enhanced the: 1 - comfort of everyone 2 - the fun 3 - the natural-ness of the images 4 - the quality of my images. I will be using this awesome information for years to come. THANK YOU. You are awesome. Your work is incredible. Thank you
This video was SO informative! You did such an amazing job warming them up and capturing the right moments. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your BTS videos!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Oh my gosh, you are SO GOOD! Posing is the hardest thing for me and this just gives me sooo many good ideas of what to tell couples! I especially love how you just always told them to keep moving. Thank you!!!
Really nice video. I like the wide angle approach you took. Wondering what aperture was used to ensure both people were in focus. Would be neat to see some of those details on the images you share. Still great video.
Question- Beginner here: Where are you focusing when you have them walking towards you/twirling around/movement in general? Are you using a single AF point, or all of them? Do you need to use a higher F stop with a deeper depth of field to keep everything in focus?
I don’t think she has a high F stop since the final photos she shows in the bottom left definitely have some bokeh. Probably just a faster shuttle speed? I’m curious as well though!
Great video! One of the biggest problems I have is trying to remember poses, I totally freeze up!! This will help a lot! I will mostly like freeze up again, but at least I'll have a general idea of what I can ask the couple to do.
I'm doing my first engagement shoot tomorrow and this has honestly filled me with so much confidence! I've never watched your videos before but thank you so much for this one. You are AMAZING
Wow this video is fantastic! Very helpful to get behind the scenes on a photoshoot. Love how natural and fun you are as a photographer! Very inspiring. 🧡
Well captured, keeping stuff sharp when shooting shallow depth of field, plus irregular moving people is not all easy! Lovely vibe and directions, Becca. Very good results!
Lightroom tutorial for a shoot like this would be great to see how you were exposing and how to edit without losing the details of either the background or the subjects..
Only 10 minutes in and this is best BTS I've seen so far - saving this! Super super helpful for other photographers. Your work is GREAT and you interact so well with your clients. Thank you so much for sharing this, please post more and keep up the amazing work!❤
I am so happy I ran across this video- SO HELPFUL!! I love your style. I would love to see more engagement sessions and possibly some high school seniors if you do those shoots! Thanks again.
Do you use any type of lens filter? I'm so confused how you could get these amazing shots with the glare of the bright sun without a filter ??? I hope you are able to answer this question. Your amazing!!! Also do you use spot meter?
This video alone made me subscribe & like your video!! It was that good!👏🏼 So helpful for me as a newbie photographer! Would LOVE more of the BTS with other kids of subjects (seniors, small families, large families, baby’s, blogger shots, fashion shots, etc)!! So excited to see if you have more BTS vids!!😀😃
something that I really appreciate from a photographer when I'm modeling is when they show some of the photo's on the screen of the camera so that I kinda have an idea of what poses look good and which look kinda awkward.
Can you show a full photo shoot with a family! Your work is amazing. Also another quick question, when shooting into that harsh light how does it not bleed out the quality of your image? Thanks so much for sharing!!!!
Omg this is the best posing video I’ve ever come across! I’ve struggled to get my couples to interact naturally and make their sessions fun and after watching this, I am SO MUCH MORE CONFIDENT! Thank you for sharing! Can you please do more of these?! So good!!!
This video was AMAZING and so helpful!! Please keep them coming, thank you so much! I loved how you showed the photo with the moment it was taken so we could see what it looked like and what you were going for. Also loved how well you interact with your couple and kept them engaged.
This is truly an incredibly helpful video. Photographers like myself would pay good money for in-site like this. Thank you so much for this. I actually have my first engagement session (other than those of a few close friends I’ve done) this weekend and I was really searching for some tips on how to get good genuine smiles and movement from couples without being too over baring while also making them comfortable. This has given me so much peace of mind and inspiration ! Please please share move videos like this you are so talented!
OKAY WHAT?! This was extremely helpful & so sweet of you to share an entire shoot! I would love to see a behind the scenes video similar to this one on lighting. I struggle with where to place subjects during shoots when the sun is shining for best results!
OMG WOWWWW!!!!!! Hands down the best shoot and most helpful video I've ever seen. I can't even begin to tell you how much I learnt from this. You have an incredible gift, thank you for sharing it with everyone. Please do alot more videos like this they're amazing ❤❤❤
SUCH a great video thank you SO MUCH for sharing! Very insightful as I always have an idea in my head of how I want a session to go but then I get nervous and not sure how to make everyone feel comfortable I really love your approach.
Thank you so much. There really needs to be more videos like this. It helps me have that extra boost of confidence I need when photographing extra gorgeous couples!
This was a great tutorial on directing couples! Very fun and natural. I agree with others, I'd like to see more of these behind the scenes but could you also talk about settings and also do a post process of one of the photos at the end. You have an amazing style!!
This helps so much! I really enjoyed watching this and learning how to get everyone loose for the session. I can't wait to apply this into my sessions. Now do a challenge... Kids for family sessions.
This was so helpful to watch. Thank you for doing this!!!!!! I really enjoyed watching your ability to keep it fun and keep them moving so they don't get bored, tired and worn out. You have a great ability to make this flow quickly and easily for clients it seems. Keep more vids like this coming please!!!!!!!!!! I learned a bunch!!!!!!!
Girl! Your energy I love it! Super helpful video. Even before I saw this this is exactly how I am when I did two sessions with a couple and I felt like I was being too extra 😂 it’s good to see that I’m not alone. I’m a hype woman when taking photos and I’m always complimenting people and telling them what looks good and it makes them comfortable and open up. I’m doing a maternity session for a friend of mine, so I’m taking notes. I did her engagement photos last year so we will already know the drill and my vibe when shooting ❤🎉
Great Great video ... wish there was more information regarding the available light camera settings - I notice you didn't use fill in flash. I have trouble with available light in these conditions.
OMG! There're good videos out there filled will plenty of good info but yours is the best for sure!!! Very inspiring! for both - clients & photographers.
You're totally amazing with backlight photography and i love your editing style. would you ever consider making a backlight photography or a lightroom tutorial?
These photos are seriously so awesome! I was wondering if you'd be able to share the settings you use on your camera during your shoot (Shutter Speed, F Stop, and ISO). You do such a great job bringing the personality out of your clients and that's something you definitely can't really teach anyone. Thanks for making this video and sharing!
This is SO good! SO informative! I almost didn't click because I thought "I have seen every posing video I am sure it's the same as everyone else" but NO you knocked it out of the park - good job babe!

THIS!! Same Here!!
This was 100% the MOST AMAZING shoot I've ever seen. You have a phenomenal style.
Watching you direct and guide the couple through poses was amazing! You really have developed a great talent for creating incredible but natural poses
Your backlight photography game is strong!
These are freaking adorable!! Seriously the best posing advice I have seen. Thanks for sharing!
Can you please please do more of these!? This is so helpful!
Working on it for sure!
I’ve been a candid-style wedding photographer for 4 years and this still helped with my latest engagement shoot, love it!
Never have I seen such amazing tips. This was so great to watch and learn. The photos turned out amazing .
you should do some lightroom tutorials, they would be a hit
Andro'5 World agreed!!
Pleeeeease!
Seriously one of the best posing instruction videos I’ve seen
Also- I'd love to see a behind the scenes just like this, but with an older couple. Like a 40th anniversary photo shoot!
I have watched so many couple posing videos and this is the BEST one. It’s so helpful to see you actually interacting with them!

I can't wait to read Becca's reply!!!!!!
I don’t think she has a high F stop since the final photos she shows in the bottom left definitely have some bokeh. Probably just a faster shuttle speed? I’m curious as well though!
Whenever I do walking photos I always use AI Servo (for canon) Im not sure what it is for Nikon, but it helps when tracking focus for movement
AF-C ,its what i normally use..
I hope she reply’s soon
