    I wanted to thank you: I was a bit rusted as I hadn't shot a wedding for a year, I came across your YT channel yesterday, right before heading out to a wedding. Your tip about linking arms and bumping hips was so useful! I got to try it, I think it helped people laugh and relax, and also it gave more movement in the shot. Your other videos gave me some good refreshers and I've also learned new things. Thanks Josiah!

    I tecently atended a family wedding and i felt sorryfor the photograler when he wanted to do a groyp shout of the gromsmen and bridesmaids he wanted to anan alternate steo shot ie male female male but couldnt do to thehieght diffetences. Each bruidesmaid was taller than the groomsmen , u suggested. Doing a v type posewith guys in one side and the ladies on the other side, his shots came out great

      @@JosiahBlizzard Your work is wonderful. I probably didn’t need to critique your images. I hadn’t had my morning coffee yet. I have a family portrait session this week, and your video was very helpful.

  • @lindseygerner4677
    @lindseygerner4677 5 років тому +2

    Great videos. I think you should keep your speed and direction as you are, but take an extra 30 seconds more on detail...or have your assistant watch for it. Group shot (13:00) You don't care or didn't notice that the last guy was the shortest AND at the end AND next to the tallest guy? or the 3rd guy was standing out like a soar thumb with his hands hanging down, facing you but not looking and the last guy completely sideways to you--practically dry humping the guy next to him? I like your casual formal style, but it should still be all uniform when your subjects are looking at you. The flowers should be uniform, too. We don't want our clients to look at the image of a formal shot and not notice the great image, but rather they see John Doe standing like he doesn't know what to do. When they aren't looking at you, is not a big deal...that's casual/candid. Just a tip...not trying to be rude.

    • @JosiahBlizzard
      @JosiahBlizzard  5 років тому +2

      Totally get it. I'm definitely not someone who is a perfectionist or insanely detail oriented. Sure, they should all be 100% exactly uniform, but I'd prefer to not perfect all the flowers, and if I don't catch that one guy isn't turned on the exact same angle as everyone else, it's not the end of the world to me and I've never, ever had someone complain about it. I'm far more focused on making sure the bridal party is having 1) a fun time and 2) don't feel like they're time is being wasted. There's also the personality of the bridal party members to keep in mind. You've gotten a quick sneak peek as to how I'm shooting, but what is missing in all of these videos is the communication between shooting and the understanding that some people just either aren't going to listen, or won't understand what you're asking based on their personalities. We've had easy-going bridal parties and parties that are just nightmares sent to us from Satan himself. I keep things like you said, casual-formal and as long as my bride and groom are having an awesome time and my bridal party feels like I have their best interest in mind, that's what I care about most.

    • @TheyCallMeRome
      @TheyCallMeRome 5 років тому +5

      That's the biggest mistake photographers make. That everything should be uniform. No one actually looks and cares except photographers. The people love the pictures. That's the importance. So what that the shortest was in the end? The attention is on the bride and groom. They are accessories in these images. I didn't notice nor did I care about the things you listed. And that's beautiful a perfect image. You see the feeling. You see the joy, you don't search for details.

      Unknown User for a casual pose, totally agree. It wasn't though. It's his style though and that's what I was asking.
