Hello everyone and welcome to Flat Earth Friday where today we re-visit Mr Thrive and Survive.

Instead of having this proposed "flat face" or whatever of the earth pointing at the sun.
It's like, "okay, you're arguing that the light covers everything because it's flat, but your diagram shows the light hitting a curved surface..."
You'd need a 3d diagram to really even try to use a disk and for 2d, you'd want to use a rectangle to represent that "edge".
It adds a whole other layer of incorrect-ness to an already disproved argument when someone can't even diagram what what they believe correctly.

Dude you don't even agree with yourself!
Well actually, to his credit, he's at least consistent in his stupidity. He thinks the moon is 70 miles wide because the umbra is 70 miles wide. His complete misunderstanding of how the sun and light and umbra/penumbra works makes him think that IF the moon was ~2,100 miles wide, then the shadow would be ~2,100 miles wide, which is not the case. Therefore the moon is 70 miles in his mind.
@@JohnSmith-xf1zu Yeah, but he got the 70 miles figure from a one specific eclipse. At 6:00 he mention partial eclipses with "no shadow". Where is logic there?

@@oftomatobypotato9513
You can test it yourself: take the flashlight and keep it on for a few minutes, then touch the edges and the sides of it (doesn't work if it's a low heat flashlight, get an older one).
You will feel that the sides head up. That's because the light is hitting it and bouncing all over the place until it gets out of it's confinement.
Think about it like this: if you look at a small patch of the sun next to the edge, you still see the sun, because it's emitting light from that point towards you (and towards all other directions). If you're looking at a patch of the sun on the opposite side, the same thing happens.
@Brian Waller the way he describes how light from the sun behaves is like a laser. That doesn't spread out in every direction.
The moon was projected in the 1920s thats why it is in black and white and not color. and when nasa faked going to the moon in 1969 it was still in black and white. but by the 70s they now could film in color. but for some reason the moon and all the footage was still in black and white. perhaps thats the reason they never go back ahem. because they would have to film it in color now. and we all know the moon as no color lol. always black and white .

Wrong, a flat sided object casts a curved shadow on a convex surface, so you prove nothing.
@@orange70383 this is what I am referring to, 5:46. At this point he is showing us the model that he believes supports his claim about shadows. In order to create a shadow smaller than the object, the light source would have to be casting light AROUND the object at a certain angle. That's wrong but that's not the point. The model he is claiming as accurate uses a round earth to illustrate his point. A model that would not work with a flat earth.

I always love it when they go on to trust their senses and then proceed to NOT do that -- and they also somehow bypass their brain. According to his sun/earth diagram, he should never be able to see a whole lightbulb because only a tiny fraction of that lightbulb actually is at the right angle to be seen. We do see, however, see the lightbulb in full - lit and unlit. So - either our senses are deciving us or - perhaps -- his model is missing something? Even worse - if he'd follow through with his "logic" of how things work, he would never see a round sun but only a strip -- even without an eclipse. So how come we see a round sun and why should this round sun all of a sudden turn into a strip during an eclipse? I guess his is the best result of one-dimensional thinking and the BEST argument why science has peer reviews.
