After watching about 5-10 FDP videos, I’ve found myself selling all my toys and projects to get another 6.7 lol I really like the way this channel is technical and fun but also serious at the same time!
two things, I love lavons enthusiasm for trying to find the limits and break other peoples trucks also... hows the built 68 doing on the street at the power level of andys truck? Love the content guys!!!
These new CGI block engines appear to be a good platform to build upon. Forged rods from the factory and a nice strong block. I'm just wondering how the hydraulic roller lifters are going to hold up long term. Changing them out with the engine in the truck must be extremely difficult if not impossible unlike the original flat tappets.
On the subject of air filters, have you done your own comparison of aftermarket filters? Wondering what brand or kit makes it worth spending the money. Ultimately, what filter to avoid using on a daily driver.
I have a S&B intake with the oiled cleanable filter that comes with it and I go offroading all the time no dust or anything gets past the filter. 06 5.9
@@mvcg-cl4cr hell yeah they do, I've got a 2012. Can't believe people are going out and getting these 80-90k trucks!!! The next truck I get will be my absolute last
Could I come out and have you build My 5th Gen to similar specifications? I’m looking at building a very close setup with the same turbos and cp3 pump along with some engine components
Ive only seen lifters mentioned in the comments...are the stock hydraulic lifters still in this motor or has he had the conversion done? @Firepunk Diesel
The Cp4 failures are all caused by lack of lubricity in the fuel causing the roller the slide on the cam inside the pump, creating small metal contamination that wreck the internals. If you add Hotshots secret LX4 or EDT product, it will add enough lubricity to protect the internal parts even if you get a questionable tank of fuel.
What do you offer as far as in tact tuning for Aisin equipped trucks? I’m interested in small performance and tow tunes for a 2016 3500 that tows heavy.
Wait, was the motor completely stock internally? was anything done to the top end? what other support mods did you need to do to safely meet those numbers?
Lavon might be small but he makes up for it in being a bad influence.
Last time I was this early Larson still had hair.

Makes me finally wanna get my 5.9 out the side yard and fix the pos
5 years ago everyone said a 68rfe wouldn't hold power. Now you got guys like you and revmax putting 1000+hp through one of them units.
Pretty sure it was the same story way back with the 48s

"Bring A Bucket" tune! You usually need a shovel to go along with the bucket!
i also have a stock 19 ram , i cant wait to stop by there i need mines done too.

you seen the power driven diesel filters?
@@specializ20 if only you could get one.

Looking forward to this. Might be reason enough to go and get a 2019 lol.
Shit. Take that 80k and build a 2nd and 3rd gen! Those new trucks cost too damn much

@@tonyturner779 I had a 2019 3500 limited, my ex wife took it and my house in the divorce......

Awesome job guys. Need you to get my 2021 in for some tuning

email me at lavon@firepunk.com, we'd be glad to discuss options with you.
I have seen a new 6.7 with a rod through the block in stock form.
Ive only seen lifters mentioned in the comments...are the stock hydraulic lifters still in this motor or has he had the conversion done? @Firepunk Diesel
Go ahead and throw the moon tune at it!
I'm curious if you guys have been able to compare the drivability vs longevity of the SO vs HO and earlier 6.7's with an 800hp+ compound setup?
That is impressive! Do you see less failures with the aftermarket cp4 vs the factory cp4?
The Cp4 failures are all caused by lack of lubricity in the fuel causing the roller the slide on the cam inside the pump, creating small metal contamination that wreck the internals. @@FirepunkDiesel Do you recommend doing a CP3 conversion on a 2020 ? I have the Assymetrical CP4.
@@FirepunkDiesel thanks for the information!
Pretty crazy on a bone stock motor.
Omg I thought it was gonna come off the dyno
What pusher style intake horn you running?
What a beast wicked did you modify the rail at all
no, completely stock rail.
@@FirepunkDiesel very cool you guys are rocking it

The things that you are talking about in this video, roughly how much would it cost to do these mods?
What compound turbo setup is this? Where can I get it for my 5th gen?
what size are the turbos
Trucks very quiet for 1100hp what gives? Doesn't have that mean cummins sound?
How does it spool compared to the single?
I was honestly hoping it’d blow up lol
What size turbos on the compounds?
Is this the stock trans still?
No we built the 68rfe
@@FirepunkDiesel stock trans won't hold 1200hp?
Lol
What all was done to the trans?

Is that the 6.7 HO Cummins ???
It's a 2500 with SO
@@danielkelley9730 that explains the high compression ratio of 19:1. The HO is 16.2:1

Added arp 625s, otherwise completely stock longblock
@@FirepunkDiesel are they the same size as 18 ? Got a 21 arp not saying yes or no
What are those turbos specs in the compound setup?
472/87/1.0 t4 over 493/103/1.15 T6
@@FirepunkDiesel cool, anyway you can get a video how that drives ? (I currently run a S464/S475 both T6, thinking about going bigger like S472/S488)
Yes it makes boost easily and has a smooth and easy power curve. We can make a video
@@FirepunkDiesel that would be awesome thanks! Keep up the great work!
Awesome !
Poor 68...🤣
Is that CP4 less likely to fail?
More likely
