Stevie wrote her song "Jane" in September 1991 soon after completing the TimeSpace Tour. Stevie was inspired to write the song because of the works with chimpanzees of naturalist Jane Goodall. Stevie performed "Jane" live at the International Tribute to Jane Goodall in Dallas on October 25, 1991. The two live photos in this video are from that night.
Stevie recorded this version of "Jane" in October 1991 at the Goodnight Dallas Studio, most likely near the time of the tribute when she was in Dallas.
Sara gave me this tape in 2016. She said that Stevie got very emotional while performing the song at the tribute in Dallas.
This is my favorite version of "Jane" as Stevie is very emotional in many parts, particularly near the end. Also, it was recorded in my beloved city, Dallas!
The cruise photos in this video were also given to me by Sara in 2012. She said that they went on the cruise near the end of 1991 after all of the promotion for TimeSpace was over. During this cruise, Sara says, she was hired to be a backing vocalist for the upcoming Street Angel album.
