In the Summer of 1992, Stevie was auditioning producers for her upcoming album, 'Street Angel.' Chris Lord-Alge produced three songs for Stevie: "Mirror, Mirror," "Thousand Days," and "Running Through The Garden" (the third song has never leaked from these 1992 sessions). This recording is the third of three known takes of "Mirror, Mirror" from 1992, complete with vocal overdubs and mixing.
Stevie chose to go with Glyn Johns as the producer of 'Street Angel.' However, she was greatly displeased with the mixes that Johns turned in as the final product in February 1993. Once he was gone, Stevie set out to re-record some of the songs that bothered her as well as having others significantly remixed.
Stevie wanted this version of "Mirror, Mirror" to be the b-side of the 1994 US single of "Blue Denim." However, someone at Atlantic Records grabbed the wrong Master Reel and a 1984 'Rock A Little' version of "Mirror, Mirror" would up as the b-side instead.
