In theory, the far focus point of infinity without diopter becomes 1 m with +1 diopter, 50 cm with +2 diopter, 25 cm with +4 diopter and 10 cm with +10 diopter. So you would need to hold it very close with +4 and +10 diopters, which are useless for vlogging. Maybe you could film some bee on a flower...

@@photorabz I was surprised that you haven't done a focus comparison between the two ace pro cameras, with and without the diopter. Would be a nice surprise if the new batch wouldn't need a diopter.
I have bought 2-3 weeks ago an Insta360 ace pro. I put a ruler in front of it, and it starts focusing from 20 cm (8 inch) with a pretty clear image at about 30 cm. Please do a video with the test. Thank you
@@mp7161 i had a cam from first batch that was totally out of focus all the way out.. i made a video comparing it to a new batch camera...then i sent back the old one.. and here it was with a used cam from first batch

The +1 & +2 are good. The others are too much. The distortion at the edges gets worse as you go up. Have you spoken with Insta360 about this? I'm not sure why they don't do a firmware update and fix this in a vlogging mode. They will probably wait until the AcePro 2.0, but they really should do it now on Gen 1. Supposedly they're going to add the Mic 2 Bluetooth connectivity back soon in an update. Does the adapter or the lenses come with a lens cap?
Hey there thx for the comment. I agree +1 and +2 are good. This close focusing cannot be adjusted via firmware at all. Dji mic 2 will be soon compatible with ace pro (in few days). This adapter did not came with lens cap but any lens cap 49mm will work i think i m gonna buy one.. thx for the idea

So, new batches has closer focus distance - did I get you right? Also, can you stack 2x 49mm filters (i.e. diopter and ND) without noticeable vignette (at max FOV and camera shake pls). Thanks
Thx for your comment. I never said that new batches have close focus distance. All i said that my first cam has a problem in focus distsnce but that does not mean at all that new batches are better.. you can see in this video i used a cam from the first batch and it is doing well even without filters. I don't have nds to try them btw but you can stack 2 one on each other in this adapter piece
@@photorabz Thanks for clarifying 👍. Would be great if you could maybe test with 2 diopters stacked if they show on corners (I'm aware it will be all out of focus, just for the sake of the test on the corners), or perhaps needing to go with 52mm filters in order to stack 2

@@photorabz Thanks for confirming. These adapters only seem to be presently offered for 49mm filters. I may have seen one for 52mm filters but then one has to source close up lenses of that size. One person 3D printed even larger diameter adapters and while that would have no vignetting at all angles, it would partially block the screen.
Yes and that will be risky, because a lens that goes out of the body and not tightly fixed can fall at the first bump

Normally no....but like the other camera manufacturers such as dji, there is a little % in the production line to have issues (which is in my opinion very common nowadays)
In the new batches they made sure to double check i think to avoid that
