Loving my Go 3S camera at the moment, and need to experiment with the Interval recording - think you've highlighted the 2 weaknesses in my opinion: 1 - Not being able to set the overall time. My use case is I might be away from the Action Pod for 3 hours, but only want an hour to be recorded. 2 - I'd like to be able to override the setting by recording just from the camera rather than placing it in the Pod to do this. (circa 10:30 in the video) Thanks for the video though, really helpful 👍
Great video! I’m using this for cycling. Question for all: can Interval Video be initiated with just the iPhone app? I see Interval (photos) only and it takes a photo every so many seconds, but the app doesn’t seem to have Interval Video. Am I missing it? I’d love to initiate from my phone. Thanks!
Hi Sarb, been enjoying your videos since the original go! I also enjoyed the interval recording function on the original go. I jad the go2 but no interval there so it's pretty awesome that it's back. Is it possible to record another video in between the intervals when it's not in the pod?
is it possible to interrupt interval without putting it in the pod? like im walking around and seeing something cool to record and i just press a button to have it do a quick record that just becomes part of the interval recordings?
You videos are the most informative out there ! You really go in depth in the topic, try different combinations of settings, give different usages and even find the flaws 👏 I sold my Go 3, partly because it didn't have this video interval settings that I heard about in your early videos about it. I not sure I would still work with Insta360 since my experience was pretty bad at the time but I definitely like to keep up with what is happening on the market and your channel is a gold mine in it's field 🙏
Love it thanks for this video i traveling next month and i was wondering the best setting for it and you explain the way i am ready to use it! Thank you
Tried this…worked great. One question…On the Go3 I think we had a small amt of ability to reframe “provideo”(freeframe). I do not see that ability anymore in the insta360 app (have not tried studio as I want to do editing on my ipad pro). Do you know anything about this.
I feel like the original interval feature was better. Getting 30s every 5 minutes vs getting 30s every time I experience something worth shooting. I realize just start stop can work, but it was cool to not worry about it powering off on its own
I know - just so many lessons from the Original GO just waiting to be learned. Took them this long to even consider getting intervals back, but missed this biggy!
This is hands down one of the best features an 'action camera' can have, I'm really surprised that DJI Action 2 doesn't even have this feature for a small format device. With size of the 3s and the various ways of mounting the camera, the Interval Video has become one of my most used features. One thing I haven't been able to find out, during the interval video recording, can you over ride the recording and will it continue interval after. ie. while I'm using interval, i want to capture something that moment before the next timed recording, can I press the record on the 3s, then stop and does the interval continue after that? I might test this out. Update: Yes, just tested it out, it does work. You can interrupt the interval recording with manual record, once you stop, the timer will reset and interval will continue running. Pretty cool.
Yes you can, as you have discovered. This feature was in the original Go and got taken away in the updated versions. Until now. I’ve been nagging them for years to bring it back and made videos about it! Glad it finally came back and they made a big deal feature about it. Still lacks the ability to set a time limit to switch the interval capture off though.
I've used the Go2 camera in the past exclusively with the hat clip, and used the vibration feature (when the camera starts and stops recording) to know that the recording has started and/or stopped. I was checking the Go3s settings earlier today and realized that the Go3s camera does not have a vibrate feature. I checked the settings in the Action Pod as well as the Mobile App but could not find the said feature. Is there a setting I'm missing or does the Go3s camera stand-alone just outside the action pod does not vibrate?
How does this affect battery life? I know the camera outside of the pod will record for around 33 minutes but if I set this up to shoot 15 seconds every 3 minutes will the battery last for 33 minutes total recording time?
I want you to wear a karate gi so you can go from beginner to expert like a martial arts movie. Just throwing out an idea :-) Okay, I am running out of comments. great as always
Hello, I have a few questions about my Go3s camera. I changed the auto exposure settings from portrait mode to matrix mode and noticed short, unexplained noises being recorded. It sounds like someone is tapping the camera and occurs at 4 or 8 seconds. I was using the camera alone, outside of the action pod, when this happened. The sound is short, less than a second long. Also, when I set the camera to interval mode and turn off the action pod, the camera's LED light blinks blue. Is this normal? The LED continues to blink until I remove the camera from the action pod. Finally, I have disabled the LED lights in the settings, but the camera module still shows a blue LED light right before taking a picture. Is this normal behavior? Thank you for your assistance.
@@PocketCams Thanks. I have two Go 3s. Both cameras have the same defect symptoms and they tell me to send the cameras to Hong Kong. Because it costs a lot of money and time, I just want to know if there are other users with the same symptoms.
How to transfer the video sir to the camera galaxy a55 because I was editing on mobile often than laptop..thanks
Definitely going to give this a try during street photography! Thanks for the video!
Cheers!

my pleasure! yes, still waiting for overall time fix to happen - if it happens at all!
@ 11:09 does the interval timer restarts after you done with interrupting with a forced recording?
it does!

has Go3s allowed the duration setting for interval recording? It's on my wishlist too.
Excellent info, thanks Sarb. Do I understand it correctly that I can still do photo intervals on the GO 3 while video intervals are only on the GO 3S?
Cheers Richard - and yes, that's the way I understand it

I'll have to check when I have time. Hopefully I'll post a comment here in the next few days
Thank you. It’s very helpful video 👍
How long does the camera battery last at these intervals?
Cheers - and sorry, I haven't measured that
Do you have a tutorial on how to edit the video when free frame was activated?

Will we see the interval recording mode on go3 as well. That's a pretty handy feature
I’d like to hope so - a bit like AI Warp. But I don’t know…
Love it thanks for this video i traveling next month and i was wondering the best setting for it and you explain the way i am ready to use it! Thank you
This is a vert useful feature. While on this mode, how do you turn on the display on the Action Pod, so that you can see what its recording?
Thanks for the video!
So no freeframe video in interval mode, but only normal video right?
Yes, that looks like the only option for now.
Very useful thank you!
I'm glad you found it useful! Your support means a lot.
Hello 😊, can we record vertical in interval mode
Thank you
Any idea can we interrupt interval recording without putting the camera back into the pod?

Yes - I believe you can't do that any more. I've tried to long press to keyframe, with no success.. Which is sad :(
@@PocketCams this sad discovery is killing my enthusiasm for my brand-new go 3S.

Hopefully, a 'total recording time' option will be added
Just testing this now. Lack of limit to number of intervals is painful and seems so obvious i wonder how they missed it.

😊Thanks for reviewing the modes in detail! Can already claim a Master degree for using the Go 3S.
LOL :) Thanks!

Hi, is this available on Go3?
No it isn’t
@@PocketCams I wonder why? I thot Go3 should be able to have this feature too.
@palmcrazysg it was on the original GO. Was cut with no explanation until the GO 3S.
Thank you for you video. I like Interval Video and hope Inst360 will put this feature to Ace Pro and X4 as well.
Not sure they will, but it would be great!

Does invisible selfie stick work with 360 GO 3S ?
As a software trick? No - just for Ace and Ace Pro
IF i go on a 7 day holiday, how can I manage WITHOUT bringing a computer along to down load the files.
CAn the reader connect to external SSD etc?
Great, thank you!

How long does the battery last on 4K 30?

Can anyone answer this question?
It’s just me here not a team. And it’s the weekend! You may want to talk to insta360 about this. I’m not familiar with this issue.
@@PocketCams There was no response, so I asked another viewer. Thank you for at least replying.
Sure. Hope you get a response. But I still think asking insta360 would be a good avenue for you.

How much can you record a 4K 30 movie on 128GB?
Will depend on bitrate you select. But I haven't tested file sizes
@@PocketCams Ok, but when you select the settings, how much is shown on the time display?
I will give this a try while hiking say 30s every 10m for up to 4h
Excellent - hope it goes well!
Taking pictures with this thing sucks. It always comes out blurry or looking fake.
Pictures are not something I take with this camera unless for starlapses
