#BangerOfTheWeek - Авто та транспорт
If anyone has any great ideas for the civic let me know. Burning it is all thats coming to mind for me 🤣
Banger race it pal
Rebuild it as a project maybe or just scrap it
@@lukebradley986 I was going too say the same thing, Either banger or stock car.
Burn it immediately 😂😂😂
I had a 08 from new - the early models have clutch and flywheel issues as well , honestly just set on fire and upload the video you’d make more in ads than you would from that.
Shame as they are great to drive when not broken or in this case disintegrating
Calvin! I would love to see a video of what’s actually wrong with the Type R. Don’t have to fix it. Maybe a video at VRS or nearby garage confirming what’s causing the smoke and overheating. A repair bill Ed how much it’s gonna cost. Loved this video man keep it up
I can answer ur question :) it is a valve seals :) about 20quid if u like fix things :D
An absolute shed of a car - never seen an FN2 in such poor condition!!
This is what happens when people buy and own something without asking if they can afford it, then instead of spending what money they do have on maintaining the car properly, they spaff it on pointless "mods". I'm gutted this FN2 has been so badly mistreated. The spec is great, but it needs a bit of TLC to bring it back to the rightful condition. These may get a bit of "it's not an EP3 tho" hate now, but as the last NA engined Type R, I have no doubt there will be a sudden realisation that they've been overlooked and underappreciated. It's probablyy too late for this one, but hopefully there's lots more out there that have been treated properly.
Bolt on an eBay turbo and send it for the draggy times 😂
Ps - top the coolant up first tho ! 😁
Packed in driving a few years back...no fun on public roads ..but love Calvin's video. So honest and real .top bloke good luck mate
That is a banger of the week you ain’t wrong there calv 😂
Bruh...the previous owner literally gave 0 F@#%s
Where’s the 20-70 mph draggy times big man 😂😂 Loved this video. Made me laugh after just coming out of hospital after surgery. Keep up the great content 🙏🏻🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
A shed, nice one! Excellent video Calvin, your expressions tell the tale. Honda is a real trooper though.
Perhaps, get some cheap used parts, repairs for the MOT, make it a 2022 track car for BINCA outings :)
Calvin, you should do a build series/long episode on this on how you would go about fixing on a budget/what options there are to fix this. A lot of amateur weekend mechanics on this channel who I'm sure would love something like that. Probably a lot of people who a fixer series would resonate with as they're in the same boat.
I would love a diagnose, fix and then track day it Calvin. You love getting cars fixed up and modded, take this to the next level. They made a fantastic Touring Car.....
Had one of these in the same colour on a 57 plate about 10 years ago. Loved it and was super reliable but did feel a bit tinny and the paint wasn't best.
😂 love your videos pal keep em coming bro
Bloody brilliant video had me in stitches 😂
This makes me feel good about some of my bad deals 🤣what a banger mate
Not a lover on these cars but you made wicked content from it. Did enjoy watching it CALVINS WINNING OUT HERE
Would be interesting to know what it would cost to get it running and on the road again, an if it's worth it video 👍🏻
I had one from new great car 2 years no matter how hard it was driven never a single issue.. sad to see one so badly treated as they still need to be looked after
Turn it into a banger racer. Love to see you hitting the track in it
put a match to it, love the vids
Fantastic video with of course nice edits 👌😂
Calv it's worth WAY more in parts honestly, just part it out for a profit (depending on how much you got it for) and scrap the rest. But yeah, loads of desirable parts on that
The smoking and it smelling like fuel is likely because it's running lean and probably needs a new sensor
bangers of the week 🔥
That car has been beat on and abused it’s whole life. You can tell it’s lived a rough life but it’s still going. That’s a Honda for you. I’ve owned several of them and have put over 200k on every single one of them, lol!! They were all still running strong when I sold and or traded them. Hondas and Toyota’s are hard to beat when it comes to reliability and longevity.👌🏽🔥🔥🔥 This one prob needs a head gasket and will run just fine.
Problem been bounced all over the redline constantly haha 8 owners is a huge risk ! I had a mb6 vti B18c4 and that burned a litre in 250 miles pulled dipstick was nearly dry 150,000 miles no service history oops. Now own an Aerodeck vti with 89,000 miles no smoke
"Exhaust either sounds good or it's blown" loool 😂🤦♂️
😂😂😂😂😂
Cals reactions to the car made my day hahahhaha
Banger of the year Calvin never mind of the week, needs to be spares or repair.
Spares & repairs Calv, hope you did alright on the car they purchased - btw were u & family in Bournemouth end of Aug….I see you in the Gardens, wanted to come & say Hi as feel I know you as long time subscriber but thought better not!! 🤔
I currently have 3 of these .
2007.x2 and 2008 gt.
Not the quickest of cars but smiles per gallon are on point 👌
The main problem's I've had are snapped drive shaft
Vtec solenoid
Pvc valve
Suspension
Control arms
Drop links
Bearings on the pulleys
Hand brake like yours
Roof rust
. Bare in mind there getting old now so it's all pretty common.
This is a bit far gone.
Brake it.
£300 seats
£300 wheels
£750 cat
£1000 engine n box
£450 boot bonnet wings ×, trim
£120 front n back lights
And there more.
These cars are be being broke at a rapid rate because there just hitting that age a lot of the abouve will need attending to.
You might think you cba braking it but believe me you won't have a problem selling any parts off it very very quickly.
. For peace of mind I'd at least start to brake it to ensure no one ends up in the same situation as you. Who maybe less Financially fortunate.
Made me proper laugh when you tried to pull the door shut when you stopped to turn around👌🤣
So being a fn2 owner myself and having experienced ALOT of those issues the most likely cause of each is:
ABS sensor has gone and is causing the VSA and ABS sensor issue and the smoking and engine light is probably due to the rad being blocked or something however the temp going that high have probably done ALOT more damage now
White smoke is gonna be coolant in the combustion chamber. FN2 owner here too, damn I feel happy my car isn't that one ! 😆
A blocked rad will cause overheating mate.
Jesus Christ thats in bad condition!
Makes the one I sold a month ago look like it just came out the factory. Videos on the channel if anybody want to see one that's been looked after 😄
vsa light could be a stretched timing chain. that was the issue with mine when i had it. i tried cam sensors first but it wasnt that. if not kept on top of services, especially if driven after being stood a while these can stetch by half a tooth on either side. youll see the light come on before any rattle. windscreen rust is common, that sticker on the rear cluster is to cover the grime. also check the false floor under the boot, will be like a swimming pool in there
Double check Cal if the C.A.T catalytic converter ain’t missing it’s definitely worth something 💪🏽
It’s nearly bonfire night Calv, give it the send off it deserves
Does a Type-R stock exhaust fit on a 1.4 iVTEC Civic Hatchback 2010 Facelift?
Strip it for parts, if the engine is salvageable maybe keep it for a project :D
I think the engine is knackered buddy that’s the main problem
Hondas just really never break, even when the physics says that they should 🤣
Init I seen a honda running on only 3 cylinders and they still pull lol
Carwow guy ran one with no oil for about 5-10 minutes then ran it on Coke and Mentos for a bit more!
@@brianmcintyre14 yea I saw it it’s just Honda engineering
@@brianmcintyre14 its just Japanese engineering.
@@dubzuk3710 well the wankel engine is also Japanese engineering isn't it? You won't be running one of them on no oil for 5 mins 🙂
Funny guy those v tech days in the crx's the exhaust note sure nostalgic lol great content best thing is scrap it by that mot though piston rings deffo but alot worse I bet money pit Calvin GETRID BRO ✌
Banging tune on the intro cinamatics....
Yes Cal same would like to see you take the car to vrs or a Honda type r specialist it would be interesting 🤔
Before watching I knew the VSA and ABS lights would be on but didn't wanna comment til I saw it. My dad's 1.4 dsi suffered from that problem too and still can't fix it. That car's pretty much had it unless you go to honda officially to diagnose and replace parts. Just a tip for you Calvin lad
Sounds like the air/fuel mixture is too rich on it causing the smoke and the smell but there’s definitely more to it than that if the temperature is so high. Unfortunately you’re probably best off just scrapping it or selling it to a breaker
Got be head gasket gone with smoke and overheating
White smoke out the exhaust is basically textbook headgasket failure, further backed up by temps getting high which will happen if combustion gasses make their way into the coolant. Its an easy fix if theres no warping in the cylinder head, its maybe 1 up to a couple hours for a mechanic to replace it. The fuel smell is unrelated but it is an issue on its own, leaky injector or pipe, bad seal on the pump, could be anything.
I love my type r I've had it 4yrs i used to be a detailer but had a massive heart attack 2yrs ago so haven't been able keep on top off her she needs a good detail and deep clean inside.... Its the best car I've ever owned
Can someone please tell me if a stock Type-R exhaust fits on a 1.4 iVTEC 2010 Civic Hatchback Facelift?
Had mine now for about 5 months 08 plate 64,000 miles FHSH its shocking how bad condition is on this!! This car has been ragged around like most boy racers do!! Im looking after mine as they are slowly going up in value!
surely this is banger of the month! Worst one I've seen you buy, makes for good content tho!
🤣👌
Make some furniture for your waiting area out of the engine and seats. An engine table and a couple of chairs
The music this time was pretty good👍🏽
The car itself needs a complete overhaul from interior to exterior, then the actual heart (engine) needs a complete overhaul, head gasket, top end and bottom end building back up properly if you skim and take shortcuts itl smoke again not worth the hassle in my opinion.
Maybe no water in radiator, civics and jazz's handbrakes, rear calipers tend to fail/bind/stick,rust also an issue, usually on ep3s, also many fn2s were fixed under Honda warranty due to rust at top of windscreen,EML light maybe due to a decat.
Wow that poor type r is rough. I had one new in 2007 on 57 plate and it was a cracking car for the 3 years I had it
Your a legend mate 😆👌
Well you certainly brought your selves a Yorker there, piston rings gone over heating? was there water in it? did make a great video, what to do with this car is banger racings :-)
many be velve seals have gone sound like it needs a propa sirvice with the smoke tegiwa would sort you out the bits to repair
I'll give you scrap money for it 😂 oh, I need it delivering to Peterborough too. Cheers Calvin!!
Any chance we can have a fixer upper series like the old days?
It's bonfire night soon Calv 🔥😂
Do you still have the mitisubishi gto Calvin? Thanks
Don't understand how people can let cars get like that. No respect.
White smoke is normally steam from water / coolant getting into the cylinders.
Maybe a blown gasket.
Not worth spending time on it, unless you feel like it could be fun for UA-cam content.
I reckon auction as is, is the best move.
break it for spares cal if you've the time lol .... great video bud
lol that is a banger mate, looks like its spent alot of time near the coast as thats probably whats caused the corrosion
Did the lads use it in top gear..... Hilux sea water test.... Looks like it was the same for the civic
The amount of rust, it's like it's been at the bottom of the sea for a while! Banger of the decade!
My guess is the previous owner ran it without oil and the engine got f#@ked as a result
Honda will fix the roof rust. They did mine
I know its the least of the problems
Our of warrant now pal. 12yrs on corrosion. Car is a total binner anyway.
Not a fan of the type R but would be good to see what they are capable off
8 previous owners with 125k miles Calv. That to me screams, village bicycle. Smoking could be valve stem seals, did seem too have a slight blue tinge to it in the video. Could also be HG if coolant is disappearing.
Probably just needs a new O2 sensor or its burning oil or probably the engine coolant temperature it's putting more fuel in because it has no data but the head gasket is definitely blown
Random question but what's the best way to get that adhesive off the windows 😁
Yes calv
Set fire to it Calv.
Insure it and set fire to it...lol!!!
Smoke on acceleration is piston rings, on decelaration is valve seals...
Had some hammer that mate🤣
Banger race it lol then make some furniture for the binca waiting room from the interior, scrap the rest lol
Change the PCV valve probably sorting out and put a com test on it The only way you’ll kill one of them engines is To run it out of oil
I was actually laughing out loud at this video and your face was a picture once the smoke came inside the car
I think you should dedicate 1 video a month for "banger of the month"
Would like to see u fix it up and bring it back to it full glory they are quite rare in south Africa
Good project car for the channel
It looks like it's been sprayed with neat traffic film remover every day of its life 🤣
Just try oil or if there’s already oil drain and it and put better quality stuff in
Keep it !
Just put it through a mates rate MOT 🤙🏻
Do a track car project on it!🤣
What's temp gauge like
@calvin that cst is from dundee Scotland
Should’ve done Draggy time by pushing it off a cliff 😂
0-125 in 5 seconds
Head gasket failure.. night aswell get a full engine rebuild and while yiu at it stick a nice turbo on it and full bodywork and re spray... or the only other option is scrap yard or sell for parts 😅😂🤣
It’s a sad day when you see a Honda in that state. Shame the structure is corroded as otherwise would be a decent fixer upper for someone, just not really economically viable for the everyday person with the repairs that would need.
Maybe get the engine out and find a nice little hatch that’s begging for a k swap?
I know what your saying I have that car in silver same age and it has no issues with corrosion and in in fact none of the issues this one has so just glad to have a nice example of one. I undersealed mine and it was already really clean underneath.
Stop flapping and turn the heaters on full blast. Thar helps keep the temp down. Probably head gasket related.
Had the exact same car Calv. Mine was concours compared to that 😭😂😂
Keep rolling rolling rolling lol 🤣
It would be interesting to find out exactly whats wrong with the engine. Being they are supposed to be bulletproof could be something simple as no coolant or a faulty water pump
It's overheated and blown the headgasket + god knows what else, scrapper.
It's a gt spec type r and that's factory optional extra sat nav
Now you can pay £125 for that sat nav on ebay
I own deep bronze pearl fn2 type r gt
2008 and my roof was resprayed by honda in its Early days
Fn2 came with so meny optional extra
Also back window on mine are blacked out privacy tint so I'm guessing old owner tried peel it off
Seems like a head gasket. White smoke is coolant burning in cylinder and high temp shows loss of coolant.
Fix it up and sell it love to it all fixed and looking good it’s a future classic
Boost it! Poor car has had a hard life and needs some loving. They still look up to date with today's cars imo. Great fun to drive aswell
