- I bought this super rare Mugen Honda Civic Type R FN2 200 from one of my subscribers. The honda Civic Type R is one of my favourite cars of all time, i seem to buy a hell of a lot of these cars and i'm very proud to have this rare fn2 championship white mugen civic type r in stock.

Mugan has round tips
Mugen 200 is a bodykit only car with 198bhp (officially), the Mugen M20 is a 240bhp modified variant with only 20 made. One of those 20 was turned into a 2.2 by a company in Northampton and produces 260bhp. The only other Civic Mugen 8th gen is the JDM FD2 Mugen RR which has the same engine mods as the M20 240bhp FN2.
I prefer this shape civic than the newer shape its 10x more appealing

The FK8 shape is awful
The older gen before this one looks better in my opinion , in my opinion the civic got took bulky when this model was relessed

I know the reason for the engine start button
The older cars were so quiet whilst running that sometimes you’d try to turn the car on again, whilst it was already running which would result in the awful ignition scream 😱
With the new setup you can’t make that error.
If your press it and it’s already on, no drama and you won’t be turning the engine off in error, when you thought you were starting it
if you want it off, use the keys to turn it off 🤩
Love the FN2 R, so underrated.
The temp controls on the passenger door are cos it has dual zone climate control.
Lets them configure their temperature independently from the driver's when dual zone is enabled.
Calv, I've got an old Civic. Just had the spark plugs replaced and the car feels so much more responsive. If they've not been changed in a while it could be worth looking into.

Either needs a remap to adjust for the mods or put back to standard. I guarantee there is a significant loss in torque due to that exhaust 🤦🏻♂️
Also regarding performance, as you and someone else stated, it probably needs a map. The K20s are beastly engines but they're also fickle beasts. If you add intake/exhaust flow it can hamper the engine both with and without a tune, as it needs to be optimally balanced.
I'd throw it to VRS or better yet the boys at @Dynodaze deal with these all day long so you get the most of this FN2 both performance and monetary. 👍

GOD IT SOUNDS SOOOOO GOOD, I would have thought the bigger wheels affected the acceleration but it also might need a tune 🤷♂️

Class car. Always thought this edition corrected everything wrong with the standard FN2. Love the spoiler.
It's often said not to decat the FN2 without remapping the ECU to go with it. Wonder if that had some kind of affect to make this model slower. Also depends what exhaust it has too, it sounds like it has more than just a decat and may have a thinner restrictive exhaust.
This exhaust sounds dud to be honest and ruins the car imo … but hey
It’s the balance shaft. The ep3 didn’t have the ballance shaft but the FN2 did and it’s heavy

I drove one ( think it was the first one red one about 2009 won a competition )next after the stig drove it ...he knackered the discs big time .. loads of vtec fun brapbrap

What's good man hope you are well fam. I've never been a Honda fan bruh but wee little boy racers where I'm from fly around in them must admit they fast yokes man.
I think engines like the one in this may still be a bit tight. I bet that it was parked up for months at a time and driven infrequently with mileage like that at that age and I always think engines perform better when used consistently and with a few more miles

That mugan is beyond special actually 220 hp with a lsd and a superb aerodynamic kit that actually gives the car added wind resistance smh many don't actually realise just how epic theses cars are forgot your euro stuff this is a REAL touring spec level machine that brings the best out of the driver the more u push the better it gets that alone should tell what this machine is about anyway great review from calvin thumbs up for sure
It has the same 197bhp as the normal FN2 has, it's an M200 (it's basically a Championship white edition but came with a Mugen bodykit and 19" Mugen lightning alloys).

The mugan he is driving is the same engine as the standard type r not 220bhp. They also released a full blown tuned mugan with a fully reworked engine, among other things. This car however cost around £38,000
Ahh I see hmm? Always thought the jap spec made a little bit more than the version we received in the uk regardless such a wonderful feat of engineering one of reasons honda is my favorite eastern car along side the r32 skyline gtr truly awesome

You mentioned it was 17 degrees C that day, so maybe the warmer day also had an affect on the draggy time.
Take it to dynodaze. Get them to fit a better exhaust and filter, then custom tune. Will much improve the performance

The blue from the early 90’s is also a very nice colour.
LSD Were standard on later models. The passenger side climate control button is standard on the gt models, not an optional extra
Did you film this before the 197 calv? Just the draggy leaderboard doesn’t have it on their when you showed what the previous championship white ep3 did.
They should have supercharged or turbocharged these.. given them a little more power but a great collectors car.❤👍👍

I think you should get it mapped and see what you can get out of it
K20s shouldn't really be decatted without mapping, it can lead to engine knock unfortunately as I've seen before and read about it as well. It's happened enough times that people on groups are advised not to decat long before mapping, or to go exhaust manifold/decat pipe and then map it right away.
@@javali6027 such an interesting engine the K20, it can be either so reliable that you can't fault it, or it can fail you with the simplest of things. Btw good luck with the turbo build, I recognise the name off the groups :)

Im guessing its sold now, Looked at buying one of these a while back but very few on Autotrader now days.
The first type R civics were 200bhp new out the factory..
But people make them upto 1000bhp, which personally because of front wheel drive, you’re never putting 1000bhp to the tarmac, so 5 -600bhp is more than enough

The LSD is the main difference and you mentioned it last. The extra 2BHP isn't even noticable.
you need to have a Euro R Accord on the channel.
Proof that you’ll actually be down on power with a pipe and filter without a remap
All the Championship white fn2's had a limited slip diff.. There was 600 of the fn2 with white alloys triangular exhaust tips with 198bhp ( I had one for 4 years.. didn't think much of it coming from en EP3 which I had for 9 years).. There was 200 of these M200 with these silverish/black looking alloys with round exhaust tips also with 198bhp, and 20 of the M20's which was about £40,000 when they came out.. 2156cc engine producing 237bhp NA, which was then uprated to 256bhp NA which id the daddy of them all if you can find one?? 🤔

27mpg must've been doing a lot of motorway and not hitting vtec haha. When I had a type R I was getting 15-18mpg or at least.
EP3's tend to lead much harder lifes than FN2's.
In my fn2 type R I've just done a 400 Mile round trip @ 38.9 miles to the gallon. In cruise control at 75 mph.

I’d say the AC didn’t work when you said about putting it on. Had 3 fn2 civic and the AC didn’t work in any of them. So many failure points in the AC system it’s a lottery.

Nope. You're thinking of the mugen RR FD2. Japanese special. M200 had standard 198bhp like the rest of them :)
@@checkyourself164 Honda released 20 “Mugen” type R with better internals, brakes, suspension, lighter wheels etc and made 238hp and then also released another 20 with a 2.2 that made 260 ish HP in the FN2, not to be confused with the much preferred FD2, which looks way cooler than we got!

I'd say 26 -27 MPG would be about average MPG for non motorway driving.
Yeah I have a Milano red fn2 and average about 26 mostly city driving

Only one 2.2 made ever by a company in Northampton, that's why. Even the M20 2.0 version is worth stupid money, it's a collectors car. Looking at like £50k+ if you can even find one.

First of all ....You have the M200 . this Mugen has no more extra ponies than the standard. (Its not the M20.)
Second...you have 19 inch rims , which is a larger rolling diameter than the 18inch ones on the normal type R..so , you are not gonna be as quick 0-60 .
Third...you cant launch that car for shit...you are boggin down...send the revs to the soft limiter and let her go from there dude.
