What a fantastic video. Very informative and interesting point of view. Sometimes it is very hard to get a good image on a crap day and still there are other options, you just need to look around. Cheers from Down under in Australia

Hi Kim just found you channel by chance. I was born in Scotland but have spent most of my life in England. Complete beginner when it come to photography, and wouldn’t know a composition if I tripped over it 😀. After watching this vlog I have picked up some really useful tips. Just like to say thank you so much for sharing 👍

Thank you for the video. You can watch a lot of videos on leading lines and other rules but there is always something extra to pick up with different approaches taken by different photographers. Some very interesting points here. I love seascapes and I am lucky enough to live on the North Devon coast very close to the Cornwall border. My problem is I hate getting my big tripod out when there are lots of people about, don't know why, and we have had loads of people here lately. I have just got myself a little Viltrox VX T60 tripod. It's solid, extends to 61 cm (tad over 2 foot) and breaks down to 8 inches so I can have it with me everywhere and it holds my Nikon D7200 with no issues. I now have another tripod option and I'm happy to use the Viltrox at busy times allowing me to shoot more often getting those lower images.

Hello Kim, great video with a good selection of photographs, also giving so much information on composition but also your enthusiasm and encouragement for us to get out and practice by shooting photographs. Thanks for sharing and remember to stay safe 😷.

Good presentation as always. I feel the rules are guide lines, to put your own touch into the photo.

Hi Kim brilliant video for the likes of myself ( a relative newbie) I will store these tips in what memory bank I have left ( getting old ). I will keep practicing as although i take photographs of what i would like to paint i still think they should apply. Until next time take care and stay safe

Thanks for a very interesting vlog Kim. I am undertaking a camera course at the moment and have just covered the compositional 'rules' as it were - but it's so different seeing it coming to life in a practical way - really enjoyed the vlog. As you say . . . practice practice!!! 🙂📷👌

As always, great tips and guidelines, coupled with inspiration! And so much of this applies to videos, which I try hard to employ in my drone cinematic videos. Thank you!!!!

Excellent injection of enthusiasm, many thanks once again Kim. One point tho', when you had the framing example and said it didn't work, my immediate thought was of a guy called Hiroshi Sugimoto, and what he might have done with the scene. To be truthful... I forgot his name and had to google it! Stay Well.

Very nice video Kim. I am so glad that you didn't take any photos using an ND filter.
It didn't look like it anyway. :)
