I'm impressed. I clicked on this to waste a few minutes, expecting more of the same; you know the sort of thing, a pelican on a pier with long exposure water around it or such. Instead I learned a technique I've not tried and saw some stunning images that well exceed my own abilities. Thanks for making the effort Michael.
I live near the ocean and have been trying to take up seascape photography. Were locked down right now but this was a terrific relaxing and inspirational film to watch. Thanks for posting.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the photos starting at the 5.55 minute mark. I like the Pano better but cropped in a bit on the left hand side to remove that huge rock or at least minimize it a bit, but to keep some more of that yellow in the sky compared to the wide angle. The small rock on the left hand side border is lovely though.
I'm really enjoying this stuff... especially the exhilaration of 'getting your feet wet'. I was waist deep early this week - Golden Hour and just off the shoulder of an offshore rocky outcrop - when the somewhat larger one came. I've got long arms and thought I'd got away with it, but weather-sealed or not, I'm down one camera body now. Worth it though - these are shots that deserve to be taken, and that also provide a quite unique sense of participating in the environment you're shooting. And yeah, that last image is really interesting for a variety of reasons. All the best from New Zealand.
Simple wide frame because it gets to the essence of the image similarly to your last image of the seastack. The crop you show us at 12m41s has the main subject sandwiched with a pleasing balance of the blue sky and sea and warm pastel hints of the sunset. Most soothing. Thanks for this calming video that I enjoyed on the other side of the world at 5am with a cup of peppermint tea :)
I like the simple wide frame better, but both are cool. It was great to see how many different kinds of images (IMO all you have shown would be keepers) you got on one evening.
I find I often like some of your compositions that you have with your video camera when you're filming yourself :) e.g. @ 8:18 into this :) Beautiful photos Michael! Thank you for sharing how you see and your passion :)
I prefer the single shot over the panorama. It is more calm and simple as you said. The rocks framing the scene in the panorama add some disquietness to it. The telephoto shots from the wabes in the beginning are really cool. Need to try that when I'm by the sea next time...
Such a great set of photos from the waves to the end with the sea stack. I like the wide angle shot of the bridge more than the pano but both were excellent.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest photographers that ever walked the earth, you're photos inspired me to start me with photography, thanks for being such an inspiration, you are such a nice person, god bless you sir.
I love capturing waves!! 6:00 Holy Moley, dude! The slower shutter speed and the amazing results. Love the images you captured. Such an inspiration. Great video. 👍 BTY: Get the feet wet, get the feet wet!!😃😎
Michael, I personally like the simple wide shot better than the panorama. The simple wide shot not only has cleaner composition and elements, but the water on the left extends outside the frame and gives breadth to the ocean. At least that’s what my brain imagines when I was looking at that photo. By the way, the 3 photos that you took with relatively long exposure (1/4s) with you tracking, your first one is my favorite. It shows calmness but at the same time conveys motion due to the basting waves. Well done!
I enjoy watching your videos; your tips are helpful, especially to a newbie photographer like me. I’m heading to the beach soon, it’s windy in the north east of England, we’re expecting big waves. Enjoy your day and thank you for sharing your passion.
Amazing video another fantastic video period from one professional photographer to another I can't tell you how much I learn from you and how much I enjoy your amazing photos
Hello Michael. A great video again. Both pictures are very well. There it is hard to say what is the better one. I like the second one a little bit more😍.
The single exposure for sure is my fave. I like that is is more simplified in terms of the composition. In the pano, I was not as keen on the rock on the left. I know it balanced with the rock bluffs on the right side of the pano, but it was just too confining for me, even though it was a wider perspective. The single image allows the viewer more imaginative freedom in my eyes. Nnice shots both of them, though! Thanks for sharing Michael.
Really enjoyed that one Michael. You got a good variety of shots. Also, I would like to thank you for not swearing in the videos, unlike some do. The slow manner of speaking, not trying to cram too much in works very well. less is more right. Good job.
Lo e the simple wide frame. love the way the wave is dancing down the back of the rock on the left. Love how the rocks lead you to the Bridge. Beautiful! The lone seastack at the end. Sime, clean and the pastel colors are beautiful. Great shot
The non-pano wide shot… wow. Stunning! I found your channel recently and your images are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing! Love the wave shots too. Could imagine giant prints of those hanging in a lot of California homes.
I prefer the simpler version for two reasons: - The diagonal line defined by the stacks pointing to the bridge really drive you view to the bridge in a very dynamic way - The texture of water
I like the simplicity and the spray on the rock in the single frame better. That said, I do like the pano as well. And was wondering how you dealt with the water? I mean, they were different waves in different frames... Oh and the first and last exposures were lovely as well. Definitely a wonderful set. Thanks for sharing it with us!
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, so many wonderful shots! I liked the ‘simple’ photo over the panorama, and the cotton candy sunset shot of the bridge was the best👍
Love the non pano version. What absolutely fabulous conditions...When real life looks like a film set! Also love the Wave shots great for large prints!
Wow, very strong set of images. I preferred the single shot rather than the pano. But I think my favorite was the very last shot. Loved the softness of the light and the patterns in the sand. Cheers!
Im diggin the single wide frame shot over the pano, but thats just me lol. I definitely want to try some of those different techniques shooting waves sometime !!
The pic at 13:28 was/is superb. 👌 I liked the 'pano' but the next shot was better, in my view. In this 'wild and angry' world I find your narrative so calming, good job buddy 👍
I prefer the simpler shot too but I liked the earlier waves and the last the best. Nicely done.
Thanks Michael, Beautiful film. In a world gone mad, these few minutes of escapism is just what we need to keep our spirits up. Fantastic images.
Thank you so much! Really glad you enjoyed the video :)

Loved that pano and the one immediately after. Be cool to see a perspective blend where you magnify the bridge so it has similar weight to the stacks.
Thanks man, hope all is well!
Very peaceful video. I think I prefer the non-panorama, simpler shot of the bridge.
I live near the ocean and have been trying to take up seascape photography. Were locked down right now but this was a terrific relaxing and inspirational film to watch. Thanks for posting.
Simple wide image is my favorite, but hey, they are ALL amazing!!

the panorama of the Golden gate with the rocks leading into the image is great

Timely is everything to get a great sea shot.
Simple wide one! The waves were pretty cool too!

Magnificent shots! Especially like the longer exposure wave shots.
Beautiful images! I liked the simple single shot of the bridge and not the panorama.
I like the "Simple" wide frame better, i like the textures and stream from the water on the rock. awesome image Michael.
Thanks! :)
Ditto
Sublime
like the video! Like the simplicity of the single wide angle shot. The final long exposure/minimalist shot is stellar! Excellent work.
both beautiful. I prefer the more simple shot. Makes the bridge mor important.
I think those waves images are the perfect antidote if you do find yourself in a creative rut. They were truly beautiful...
Liked the single exposure more..
Because simple is beautiful

The simple wide frame for sure! Great video Michael!
I like the single image over the pano. Simply beautiful with the water cascading down the sea stack.
That image you caught on your way back! The long exposure version also looks like a mountain peak coming through the top of a bed of clouds.
Such a great set of photos from the waves to the end with the sea stack. I like the wide angle shot of the bridge more than the pano but both were excellent.
Love the pano. The other one water looks like ‘soup’’
Great video and my favorite subject to photograph. Yes, I too could do it all day. Every day! Thank you. You are a photographic freak!
Undoubtedly one of the greatest photographers that ever walked the earth, you're photos inspired me to start me with photography, thanks for being such an inspiration, you are such a nice person, god bless you sir.

Thanks so much Larry!
Nice! Getting out of the box always pays off!
Thank you, Michael. I wish I had watched this video 2 weeks ago when I was shooting in Big Sur! I love the wave photos!
I like the wide frame. Great color in both.
This is so beautiful you're making me cry
I love all the pictures but I love the panorama more
I like the single wide angle image way more.
But those tele wave photos i think are epic!!
I definitely like the close up better. Both were awesome though.
man, what a stunning photos! I loved the 2nd single shot.
I enjoy watching your videos; your tips are helpful, especially to a newbie photographer like me. I’m heading to the beach soon, it’s windy in the north east of England, we’re expecting big waves. Enjoy your day and thank you for sharing your passion.
I really love both of them but the single wide angle image just has a stronger impact on me so I would say the second.
The last but one is just amazing !! Love it !!
Amazing video another fantastic video period from one professional photographer to another I can't tell you how much I learn from you and how much I enjoy your amazing photos

Great shots Michael, the last one beautiful.
Love the balance of the pano and how the wave texture wraps at the base of the rock stack.
I love the more simple image and it's the best picture I've seen of the bridge.
I love the diamond shape the rocks make in the foreground of the pano.
The pano shot looks great to me. Thanks Michael.
Really enjoyed that one Michael. You got a good variety of shots. Also, I would like to thank you for not swearing in the videos, unlike some do. The slow manner of speaking, not trying to cram too much in works very well. less is more right. Good job.
I keep all my swearing for when Adobe Premiere crashes on me :P
The wilde shot was👌👌👌Michael but also the vlog 🙋♂️
Nice shots, Michael. I like the panorama more.
I like the wide frame! Excellent blog! Very educational! Thanks!
They are all pretty amazing. I like the 16MM single shot the best. So beautiful.
Loved them both but preferred the framing of the pano. So look forward to your vlogs 👍
Nice video Michael, love the light on those wave shots. I hope I can get close enough with my 200mm. Panorama shot is awesome too !
love the long exposure on the waves!! I enjoyed the single exposure compared to the panoramic...Thanks!
Great video. Super sunset shots. Thank you for the waves shots and mini tutorial.
Lo e the simple wide frame. love the way the wave is dancing down the back of the rock on the left. Love how the rocks lead you to the Bridge. Beautiful! The lone seastack at the end. Sime, clean and the pastel colors are beautiful. Great shot
Simple wide frame would be my pick
My preference is for the simpler wide angle image - it feels more balanced, less 'hemmed in' which allows the image to breathe
Wide shot for me, a single moment in time that will never be replicated. Sublime image!! 👍
Thank you so much Richard! :)
@@MichaelShainblum no worries, keep up the inspiring stuff 👍
Like the simple one wide frame.
The non-pano wide shot… wow. Stunning! I found your channel recently and your images are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing! Love the wave shots too. Could imagine giant prints of those hanging in a lot of California homes.
Thanks for sharing Michael. Will try these techniques at the local beach this weekend.
Nice to see many different kind of photos from the same place and same evening.
the simple one was my favorite
Simply stunning images Michael 👌
Wonderful images.
I wish I had such ab beautiful place in near of the sea. Thank you for sharing your fotos and content.
Excellent photography. I feel very inspired by your photography.
Every shot was amazing but my favourite was the 30 second long exposure, such a feel.
You make it really tough to pick a favorite, Michael. I liked the last wave only shot most. Superb video as always.
Simple and wide for me. Great video - really enjoyed it.
Very well done video. Love those beach strolls of yours.
I prefer the simpler version for two reasons:
- The diagonal line defined by the stacks pointing to the bridge really drive you view to the bridge in a very dynamic way
- The texture of water
Wonderful images. I like the simple image better.

Thanks so much Chris!
Thanks a lot for all your advises and your creativity ! You have an amazing eye !!! Take care !
Very nice seascapes. Good tips, use the long lens and zoom in with the motion, simple wide frame my favorite.....
New subscriber. Very relaxing viewing. Love the simple image. The light, composition and capture of movement make an awesome image.
Im diggin the single wide frame shot over the pano, but thats just me lol. I definitely want to try some of those different techniques shooting waves sometime !!
Stunning images Michael, thanks for sharing.

I like the simple version. Thank you.
I love them both, but the panorama is just so impressive. It’s something that I would love to see covering an entire wall inside a house. Great work!
Beautiful, Michael! I prefer the single wide shot over the panorama.
Amazing photos and ideas. Lately your usage of the telephoto lens is an eye opener for all of us! Thank you.👏
I liked the simple but they are all great shots
Single wide image for me, very good video too
Thanks... I prefer the wide angle to the panorama shot. Yes, watch those waves!
Your post processing never ceases to amaze me. Bananas good.
Michael, the wide-angle of the bridge was amazing.
LAD! your images are epic!
