It was a part of a collection of laws established in ancient Mesopotamia to have a fair system put in place for all classes to abide by equally. But I'm referencing that quote in the sense of revenge because justice is (amongst other things) legit lowkey revenge for the victim against the perp. Lord knows our justice system doesn't follow it by hammurabi's standands..
      Satanism definitely has a shady past (what religion doesnt?) But ther intentions aren't to be self-centered..they intend to live life deliciously. And they get to choose, themselves, what is delicious. They believe that u are ur own God and u choose how to navigate ur own moral compass and not follow or abide by unrealistic expectations set up by other churches.

    I was at a job corps in Grand Rapids in the early 80s for diesel mechanics. One thing they didn’t tell you is that over 80% of the student body is there as an alternative to jail. This was very unfortunate to the other 20% who had no criminal records and who went there to better their lives- many of them had fallen prey to the gangs at these facilities. There were a lot of people that were there as an alternative to jail, but they all had a specific dorm to themselves and were seperated into different CP's from people who entered willingly. I am sorry your experience was bad, but I met some amazing people and met my wife there. I also got certified in composite tech, and make good money now. Sometimes it sucked, usually got 6 hours of sleep a night minus the weekends, but I think they have made a lot of positive changes since the 80's.

Being lured out to an isolated spot, suddenly realizing what is really happening, and then pleading with your killers for your life after they first attack you, only for them to proceed to slowly torture you for the next hour before you finally pass away. @KahlosHack That's where you're wrong. I was brought up by a psychopath - she caused congenital birth defects in me. Then, as I grew up she abused me - psychologically, physically, sexually. She tried to indoctrinate me with her obscene beliefs while I suffered constant medical problems that she created while I was in utero. I've been called everything vile and disgusting in the book. You can't even begin to believe the absolute garbage she wrongfully accused me of. I grew up to be a resilient adult, albeit chronically ill (her fault) - but I dealt with all the trauma and pain - I paid for any and all medications/procedures/dental implants/therapy (psychotherapy, physiotherapy) I needed, put myself through university and worked in healthcare. I give to charities and I've even donated my own time to help complete strangers in St. John Ambulance. So excuse me if I don't buy into your remark. At all. I think that's the problem here. People seem to make all kinds of excuses for themselves in life - instead of just getting off their asses and being accountable for their actions.

The reality of the consequences came crashing down of her, all the freedoms that she took for granted that were suddenly ripped away from her, knowing in that moment that the end of your road is near (even if it turned out to be otherwise), it all hit her at once. It's because of activist judges on their respective circuit court benches delaying it. Judges are lifetime appointees, so all it takes is just one ideologue who personally opposes the death penalty to gum up the works and slow down the process. And it can cuts both ways a lot of the time. I've seen staunch conservative judges devout in their Christian faith oppose it on the grounds of govt sponsored execution still being a violation one of the Ten Commandments just as much as I've seen the Left wing judges do it.

It would be cheaper to house them for life rather than allowing them appeal after appeal and lawyer time, etc.

      Death penalty sentences actually cost significantly more money than just life in prison because of the multiple appeals most death row inmates are entitled to before execution and America still ends up executing people who are posthumously exonerated. Plus the lethal injection medication is expensive and extremely hard to get ahold of now. It even gets in the way of extradition cases because multiple nations won't extradite to countries with the death penalty. Overall its just a waste of resources and carries undue risk. I say save money by lowering sentencing for non violent offenders (drugs, crimes of desperation, petty crime, etc) focus on rehabilitating those people and decreasing the barriers to reentering society. For serious crimes, violent crimes, and the sick fucks keep those ones locked up and don't waste the money on the pre execution appeals.

    I lived in Knoxville for 20 years and lived there when this happened. A friend of mine was an attorney who worked with Krista's attorney. He met her and said she was the most evil person he had ever met in his life. He was waiting in the area between the courtroom and where they kept the prisoners. He was waiting for her attorney while she was testifying for her appeal. She was speaking and crying and pleading that she was regretful of what she did. It wrapped up and she was still in tears. Once she hit that door and it closed her attitude changed in 5 seconds she started laughing and cursing and saying how she was glad she killed that stupid b*tch and she would do it again. Kristi Pike is an absolute soulless monster. Any remorse she shows is purely performance. If you are brave I'd love to see you cover the Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom Jr case. It is a really controversial Knoxville case and what happened to those young adults was absolutely horrifying. Channon died naked stuffed in a trashcan with her face completely taped and having been repeatedly injected with some type of cleaning solution. It apparently took her nearly a day to die in that trashcan. Knoxville is a lovely town accept when it's not--then it's awful. Also, check out the "Zoo Man" case in Knoxville.

    In cases like this, where the evidence is overwhelming, there shouldn’t be any opportunity for appeal. They should be bumped straight to the front of the line. Why waste the taxpayers and systems time and money over someone worthless like this.

    • @notme7770
      @notme7770 3 роки тому +8

      I don't think any appeal in cases like these have as much to do with total innocence versus absolutely guilty, more with an attorney not being aware of some law, or recent amendment of some similar case's ruling by the Supreme Court, any psychological findings and other details that have the possibility to find someone just a bit less 'worthless'. As the American "Justice" system is known to be bias towards money and influence, and as the mental health care in the US, as opposed to most all other comparable, modern countries, is not a tax payers (all citizens) provided care issue, which benefits the whole, but here are just allowed to suffer and do suffering unto others (all of us), as to become a source of income for prisons and jails, lawyers and judges, police and ER services. I rather "my" tax dollars go to helping who can be helped, as early as possible, than the innumerable burdens, pains and financial costs of our Government choosing to allow suffering of those and by those, to all of us, in so many ways, just so they can purchase another war machine with the "saved" tax money, to then also financially benefit in so many more ways once the mental sh*t hits the fan..

    I remember when this happened. My uncle worked in homicide for KPD and was on the scene the next day after Slemmer’s body had been discovered. He said they couldn’t tell whether they were looking at her face or the back of her head there was so much blunt force trauma to her skull, brain matter was clearly visible, just absolutely horrible. Pike and her boyfriend cut her all to pieces. It laid a 3 inch wide gap in her throat from where Pike repeatedly slashed at her neck nearly cutting her trachea in two. I’ve seen the autopsy and crime scene photos, it’s just horrible. When it shows the news clip of the reporter standing on the pile of broken asphalt, her body was found laying a little back and to the right of that pile. The reporter, from where he was standing on that pile of broken asphalt, could have literally looked to his left and down and he would have been looking right at her. She had no shirt and no bra on, just jeans and tennis shoes. Pike had no remorse for what she did.

    How could anyone NOT love Mike. He is such a cutie and his accent is awesome. I love listening to him and look forward to new videos. I really enjoyed this one because it's one I haven't heard of before. But, I watch all of his videos regardless if I have heard them before or not. Thanks again for an awesome video♡

    That Chapter is literally a one of a kind crime channel by how Mike mixes humor into such touchy heartfelt stories. Not to mention his cool intros and outros and his catchy phrases and accent in between. Don't know how long you will keep doing this but thank you for being the best crime show

    I remember this case being all over the news. People avoided that park (Tyson park) for a long time afterward. Another case from around Knoxville that is pretty infamous include the awful murders of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom. No one deserves what they went through. Seeing the devastation it caused their poor parents was soul crushing.

    This one hits differently since I actually attended a job corps here in Oklahoma and the place was literally Drama City. There wasn't a day without people arguing over something stupid. Nothing like this though, this is just crazy.

    "Knoxville, minus the "Johnny", Tennessee" - lol, love Mike's timing, subtle pop-culture references and jokes. It helps make this one of the few true crime shows that don't leave me too freaked out to go to bed.

    This is hands down the best channel on UA-cam. It's the only channel that I've wanted to watch every video more than once. Mike's the best host, he's funny, relaxed, and just talented really. I hope he continues to enjoy producing this content for a very long time!

    I went to the World’s Fair in Knoxville,TN in 1982. It was a very pretty town from what I perceived as a child.
