As a truck-dwelling nomad for over 18 years, I couldn't have peace of mind without doing three things: (1) set up a maintenance schedule for the whole year for my truck and forecast the costs, (2) create budgets for each month and determine projected savings. (3) Review from time to time my charter statement for why I live in my truck. I set goals for myself, and I try to save at least 500 dollars per month. I run my life the way most owners should run their business. You define what you hope to achieve and write down a charter statement. My charter statement for living in my truck is simply this: "To maximize fun, food, travel and entertainment while saving the most money possible." I use spreadsheets to manage my finances which helps ensure I meet my savings goals, do all the maintenance required, and live within my budgets from month to month.
Those are all great practices. I have not formally set up a maintenance schedule, which is more now that my car has over 100K miles
@@elizabethoffgrid Elizabeth, I do alot of professional work in my truck. I'm a business consultant. I've written several business documents for clients, and I've published several books - all while living in my truck. I used to go to libraries, Starbucks and Taco Bell to work on my laptop, but not anymore. In Oct 2022, I purchased a Jackery 290 Power Station from Harbor Freight for 302 dollars, and now I'm able to do all of my work in my truck - A HUGE time saver for me. Not sure if you have a power station. But mine proved to be a game changer and well worth the 300 dollars I spent.

@lewisvogel466 thank you for letting me know. Do you happen to make videos on how you use it for your home and business? I love learning these things, because the big campers and vans are way out of my reach.
Everyone has those night's at one time or another. The other night I couldn't sleep that well because I had to wake up early the next morning because the tow was coming early to bring my vehicle to a car repair garage because my vehicle was leaking fuel so, I completely understand , but just sometimes we all have those sleepless nights or waking up early the next morning.
Elizabeth, get one of those expandable wrist bands and put it on your keys. After opening the trunk, put the keys on your wrist so you won’t lock them in the trunk.

Well, none of us are perfect, it happens where you can't plan on doing something. I know I do too. Yes, I do budget my finances.
That's really neat. I'll have these certain charts or something on my laptop when I start my business. I have the ideas, some products, but it just seems like everything has gotten in the way.

I am so happy that you have your blood sugar under control. I am not diabetic, but my sugar a while ago wasn't very good. I haven't been checking it, but it's not serious, but I need to buy a meter just to keep track of it.
My A1C was 8.3 in late 2019. It has been 5.3 to 5.5 since then. No carbs (and no processed foods), 5 days gym, 7-8 hours sleep. I am 58. My Metformin dosage went from 1000mg twice a day to 500mg twice a day. Sharing it for motivation.
OMG those donuts are my number one sweet that I eat. I love them they’re addicting that’s funny I don’t really eat any other sweets.
Hi Elizabeth purchase some window screens for your car...they are life savers when you are hanging out in the car. They give some shade and keep the bugs out.

Can you give some insight on some places not specific, but some type of places that you stealth camp at when you’re in town?
In town I usually sleep in street parking, somewhere with good lighting and other cars are parked there (not necessarily sleeping in their cars/RVs but it is not empty). I like places behind or on the side of a business or govt building that's open during the day but closed at night -- no one is there at night so they should not care.

I do get bored quite a bit from time to time which is why I don't mind at all making this video that I mentioned up above. I do live in a tiny apartment but a tiny house is something that I'm seriously considering. I'm working hard on rebuilding my credit, so hopefully one day soon God willing, maybe my dream of a Tiny House will come true. If I can live in a Tiny apartment for 13 and now going on my 14th year, I believe that I can happily live in a Tiny House for the remainder of my life. Just me and maybe my other half only. No pets except for maybe a few small fish in a small aquarium. No animals, lol and no smoking in my Tiny House.
Only time will tell. I'm not asking for much. 😊
Do you take naps during the day? If so, do you think the library parking lot is a good place for a daytime nap?
I have taken naps at the park - I haven’t at the library lot mostly bc the parking lot is fairly full so someone would be right next to me, I don’t think I’d be comfortable with the window open and me asleep

How do you travel on the road for the cpap machine?Cause I haveone that's one of the things that I don'tknow howi'm gonna do that on the road
I have a power station and I have a travel cpap! It works fine (and can run the cpap for 4 night without charging). The big thing is the travel cpap because it does not have a traditional humidifier, so it draws a LOT less power.
