You're doing the Lord's work, sir. It's awesome to see well-made and detailed videos on some awesome US made accessories for the HK416 platform. You really can't find much on how this stuff performs, so your videos are super welcomed.
Thanks! Do you have any pics or a video of that A5 gas block you have? That sounds really interesting. All the references of the actual A5 gas blocks I've seen just have the one roll pin. *Edit to add, I checked and found some photos of the A5 gas blocks with two roll pins that you're referring to. I imagine there was a rolling change or transition (wasn't able to find a date or more detail on this unfortunately) because the newest ones all now have one roll pin, like the Nefarious Arms.
thanks for the review, I hope production gets scaled up as well as availability in Europe. I'd be interested in one but 600+ shipping + EU import fees+ EU taxes is a challenge
Nefarious Arms did a run of A5 clone uppers like the one they sent me, which aren't complete uppers, but do have the most important parts. I believe they're all out of stock now but they'll almost certainly make more runs in the future.
Great, informative video Seeing as you have night vision, is there any flash coming from the gas block? I know on some piston rifles, such as the lwrc, you can see a flash coming from the gas block.
Side note or question man: What are some of the aftermarket polymer or alum. or any other material ejection port hole covers you use or would recommend?
I quite prefer polymer ejection port covers overall since they don't have memory (bend and retain a bad shape) like metal ones. I've used Strike Industries, UTG, Magpul, and HK covers, and I personally lean most towards the HK or the Magpul as a second option. They're both very easy to install and remove, but I've had the Magpul dust cover induce consistent FTEs on my AR (though this rifle is undergassed and the dust cover works on other rifles) hence my preference for the HK cover which works on everything I've tried it on. The rest of those covers I mentioned work well too, but are just a bit more finicky to install.
RUAG ammo is awesome and shoots great for me BUT I almost always get short stroke or failure to lock back in my MR762…never used the 556 ammo but couldn’t get rid of the stuff fast enough.. Also have been very interested in the Sig SLX suppressor for the 762 but am very disappointed in flash performance from this video..is this the SLX or H? Titanium? Didn’t expect this much flash/spark is this typical for you?
That's unfortunate but good to know their 7.62 has problems too. This suppressor is the SLH762 titanium. Usually the flash isn't as bad, but generally I use this on a 16.5" barrel which is why I think this suppressor just doesn't handle shorter barrels very well. I have a 10.3" barrel I intend to test this suppressor on in the future as well.
Hey I just got one of these, does Marvin want you to torque the screw down with the torque limiter he sends with this gas block? It seems like a pretty high torque spec for such a tiny screw.
I'm not aware of any torque limiter that comes with this gas block. I bought one for my MR556 and got the screw hand-tight (probably ~12-15 in. lbs of torque) and it hasn't backed out at all. Definitely don't want to over-torque this screw.
I'd like to do a review of the can at some point but currently I don't have enough experience with suppressors to draw much of a comparison to how well this one holds up. In the future I probably will though.
Man you should as it’s a GREAT clone of the ambi lower, FFL markings inside the trigger guard. I just installed the HK ambi bolt catch/release and mag release, fit is good. Just waiting on a suitable trigger and the v2 battle grip and then it’ll be off to the laser engraver.

Thank you, glad to hear you're liking the videos!
Excellent and useful info as always
Thanks again!
Excellent work, sir! Just had one thing to add here: I have an actual A5 gas block and it 100% has two roll pins, rather than 1.

I've been thinking about an 11.5 M27 RWK, was wondering if any of these were decent. Very nice
If they make a complete upper that would be awesome. I always wanted hk 416a5 especially 11 inch

Thanks! Yes, there's a bit of flash that comes out of side vent of the gas block when it's on the suppressed setting.

Thanks for the review. Very thorough. Do you think this would work with a 10.4 barrel with a can (worried about clearance).
It won't fit on a 10.4" barrel. You'll need a 11" at minimum for the gas adjustment knob to clear the rear of the suppressor.

@@Feldmutze Roger that. Thanks man I appreciate you.
So nefarious gas block > waffen burke?
I would say yeah, the Nefarious Arms block is way better.
@@Feldmutze Sweet. Have one on the way.
Works on mr556 platforms?
The video answered. Thanks for the video
Review of the can next?
I'd like to do a review of the can at some point but currently I don't have enough experience with suppressors to draw much of a comparison to how well this one holds up. In the future I probably will though.
@@Feldmutze excellent, looking forward to it
What is the website to buy?
You can either contact Nefarious Arms directly by email or Facebook, otherwise they're also resold through Haus Manufacturing's site.
Cost?
Currently $600 on Haus
Thats just for the gas block?
@joelove4512 That's correct, $600 for the gas block only. Nefarious Arms sells assembled uppers on occasion, too, which will be quite a bit more.
Get the sts tactical 416a5 lower!
I've been looking into those and I'm pretty heavily considering getting one in the future.
