I also own a HK 416 10.4" it's one of my favorites, HK Haus makes a special screwdriver bit specifically designed for the HK rail also works on my 416 SMR rail if you don't wanna use your BCG.
Jason Beighley said on this very channel in an earlier HK416 video that the requirement for using the bolt lugs/group as a wrench was something they came up with when he was @ Delta.

M320 came from the G36 UBGL and L85 UBGL.
I had seen this been used by SBS on their Colt Canada Diemaco back in early 2000s before the 416 was developed.
Made sense to split the UBGL from the weapon to save bulk and weight if moving dismounted.
There was an amazing video of a US Army guy running between his M4 and the the stand alone M230 during an ambush in Afghanistan.
Such a great force multiplier.
This is the best filmed video ever. Mark 23, mp5, and HK 416 and down for the apocalypse. Would throw the mp7 in if possible.

Honestly my favorite weapon is the M203 and the M320. I loved anything that lobbed 40mm, including the MK19 but fuck carrying the MK19 and cleaning it. Being a Grenadier is dope af when you’re actually cleared to lob 40mm

I'd want a real deal full auto m249 w/ an acog/rmr combo as my main SHTF gun. I'd want a KAC SR16 11.5 inch w/ a suppressor, aimpoint comp m5, and NGAL to use as a night vision/CQB gun. I'd also want a 16 inch .308 battle rifle so either an HK 417 or KAC SR25 w/ an m203 and some type of nightforce mpvo w/ an rmr.

An 416D CAG, a Mk23 SOCOM, and a Mk27 (G19.4) for said scenario. The HK416D (10.4) used by CAG is the top-tier of tier-1 SOF combat rifles. It makes the Mk18 Block 2 and the URG-I (the unofficial Block 3 M4A1) look fairly plain and ordinary in comparison. The rarest cloner rifle that is exceedingly difficult to do, but is magnificent to behold when done right.
This is by far the best gun channel on UA-cam great editing and intros

From an infantry dude that has actually used this setup, mounting the GL on the rifle makes the rifle and GL essentially useless. We took them off and used them on a bungee cord without any optic. Rifle was a standalone with ACOG as well.

You say they’re durable but you’d be surprised how many soldiers break these damn things lol. You do have to keep in mind, a lot of soldiers don’t take care of their gear because they don’t own it.
Also my favorite way to see these guns snap is jumping out of a perfectly good airplane with them and accidentally landing on and snapping the rifle lol

In this video did you had any problems adjusting your K19 carrier that it sagged so low on your back or you just didn't adjusted at all? It looks like it sags. I'm asking because i heard from others about this "problem" where the K19 is sitting very low with the plates,on the back - out of position

Meanwhile the staying power and countries that have adopted the M16 family dwarfs the HK416, itself a derivative of the M16. As long as the HK416 is around it will be fielded along side an M16 of some type.
YMMV but a mounted 320 sucks to use compared to a standalone. That's how we ran ours.
Review a Caracal CAR816 supposedly an even more improved 416 by the designers of the 416.

UA-cam had some harsh changes at the start of the year and we had to take it down
Not a HK. It would be CZ pistol or a BCM, DD, or UGI m4 with a aimpoint t2 and 3x magnifier with a surefire light with a 11.7 inch barrel and a oss suppressor on it and a p10f for my sidearm

I'd probably run my 13.7" Noveske build. Runs like a tank and hits what I'm aiming at. I love their barrels.

I will, however, knock the HK416/MR556 and the people who have a hard-on for them. Why not buy an LMT? Seriously, why not? The MARS-L piston series of rifles are both American made and cheaper than an HK416/MR556, not to mention the DI guns are ~$1,000 cheaper than an MR556, and the end user can quickly swap between systems with a barrel and BCG change. They also make the New Zealand and Estonian contract rifles for those into collecting, or desiring to mount a bayonet and grenade launcher at the same time, they make the L129A1 Sharpshooter's rifle for the British MOD (available as the MARS-H) _AND_ their upper system is copied under licence by Colt Canada for the MOD's L119A2 rifle. LMT has even more cred than HK when it comes to AR-type rifles.

The 416 is a quality gun for sure but I would rather have the M203 on the rifle. Now the M320 I do like the sites and most importantly the ability to remove it so you can fire it by itself - that's how I'll carry it slung

@@1911syndicate No I don't personally have one but I did use the M203 plenty and I did fire the M320 four times on different separate trainings sessions but it was only two rounds each session. As of right now I'll still pick the M203 as a apocalypse situation because you need to go with what you know.

Only one big problem with H&K MR556 "H E A V Y" almost , nine pounds for a 5.56! I assume, in the Apocalypse, one would carry extra ammo, water, and a knife.
2 pounds more than a LWRC. LWRC offers suppressed gas block options, and 14.7 inch barrel with 2 inch pinned welded muzzle break, and shoots just as reliable, and shoots with less felt recoil. well.....
That is why I am getting rid of my H&K.
The H&K is over gassed, heavy, and offers no adjustable gas block. This is a killer, not a saver All American made, LWRC, fixed all these issues for less money. Only in an Apocalypse, there would not be any gun laws at which time you could modify your LWRC for full auto, something impossible with the H&K since Germany made certain in the way the bolt carrier group and lower receiver were made.
I would totally try to build a 416 if it didn’t cost 10k and weighs as much as a scar-h
