Hugely fun and informative on an invention I’d never imagined - so small yet makes such a difference! American ingenuity lives 🇺🇸🙌🔥
I saw that same IG ad, glad you did a vid. Super innovative and def a "why didnt i think of that" engineering moment.
TGC put this on my radar a few months ago but this is the first shooting I've watched. Looks like a good product. Thanks.
From one sot to another, I love the videos! Great quality stuff!
I watch a lot of UA-cam videos (I probably too many). This was one of the more interesting I have seen in a while. Thank you!
Duuude... about dang time. I'm glad someone is approaching the gas block problem from a different direction.
Cool product. The only thing I can think of to improve it would be to have a small rod/lever protruding from the cage that you could slip a cartridge case over to adjust it when its too hot to touch. Does that make sense?
Thats a great idea!
Yeah that would greatly improve it.
Once you go through the first steps to determine your preferred suppressed/unsuppressed settings there’s no need to continue to adjust it. Example: 14.5” midlength shop rifle we have runs on #3 suppressed and #6 unsuppressed. Now that we know that, we just dial to #3 suppressed and #6 when unsuppressed and no further adjustment is required.
That's a pretty cool concept. I imagine it gets pretty hot, something you want to adjust after just a few shots and not mess with for a while.
Retired law enforcement officer and Marine Corps veteran here. Never seen any rifle pause during full auto cycling like that which is seen at the 20:00 part. It's almost like there was some carbon buildup, metal expansion, or some other issue requiring a momentary pause for enough gas pressure to catch up or build up and continue cycling the mechanism.
As one would expect, the mic used and suppressor setup allowed viewers to hear the engine-like effect of the BCG pushing everything down the barrel ahead of the incoming subsequent round. Sounds like an old west cowboy movie with a train passing by.
Most notably to myself between the two suppressors was the volume of gas moving out the end of the suppressor versus the blowback at each setting of the gas control attachment.
Maybe it was due to the older suppressor being used much more, or due to another cause, but there was a noticeable difference in the amount of gas and smoke appearing all over the rifle and shooter during the segment with the older suppressor.
Must be such a horrible way to make a living! Oh how dreadful the mere thought of testing that which every true gunslut (such as myself) must be!
*#PureJealousy*
Dude this is rad. Thanks for all the top-quality info.
Looks good (aesthetically) and interesting approach to the design.
I'm digging it and it's kind of crazy nobody's ever thought of this before... Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
I thought of it years ago... kinda...maybe when I was upset at getting the Allen wrench through the slots on a M-lok handguard. Or it was later on when I was having Turkey 101 and thinking that "somebody should do something"...
👍
Honest, fair, informative!

Great information, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for reviewing this
It looks like the ROF on the Noveske was being affected by the spent casings bouncing off of the brass deflector and then hitting the bolt carrier as it was closing. One of them seemed to get between the bolt carrier and the front of the ejection port causing a delayed closing and it slowed down the ROF even more.
Looks like a well designed adjustable gas block I’d never buy at regular adjustable block this one looks more robust and reliable hope it gets more attention and testing
I would like a zero/off position for the occasional suppressed shot where you want no port-pop and are fine with manual charging. I really enjoy listening to how quiet your 300blk Ruger American is with some of the reviewed cans, and I would like that option on an AR.
You can set up your Gas Control this way if desired.
Now, that's a great device!!
So... A FAL gas block, but for an AR-15...
Pretty cool. But, not needed. I’ve got an OSS for gas guns and Pws and Lwrc for adjustable gas blocks. The W.A.R. Upper also works great.
Who asked you?
@@DinoNucci LOL
Saw this video and figured I should give this a shot on my 12.5 inch SBR. I was already running an H3 buffer on it with a Lantac enhanced bcg, so I’m curious to see how this will run when I throw my can on it with this gas block.
Very nice video. 👍
This is really cool
I love new innovative products!! Nice catch man! Keep it up! You guys are in Oregon aren't you??
I'm in Tampa FL
lol
Oh look, an FAL gas block system on an AR15!! :D Does it have a setting for rifle grenades, too? :D
Very cool
Should've shown the level 10 vs level 1 side by side or one after the other. You can definitely notice a rate of fire difference (at least audibly)
In settings you can have your slomo record in 4k 60fps. Its normally set to like 720p 30fps at default.
I'd love to see you compare the strike industries version to this.
OK, that’s innovative
Yes. They need to send you a test unit broski!
Hit us up 🤘🏻
@@riflespeed That reply just earned my business. Rock on, Garth.
Edited to add: freaking genius. It puts the traditional Stoner AR gas system on par with an external pistion.
Hold on! Back up! What brand of range bag was that you pulled out? The black camo with bright red liner...
Sweet right? That’s a custom bag from Lynx Defense. Check them out on Instagram. He built be a black Multicam with red interior. He offers a discount to my patron members too! 🍻😎🇺🇸
@@nfareview That range bag is damn sweet!!! I will take look at Lynx Defense.
@@mdx9286 they are good bunch!
I aint never been to a range that wouldn't loan me an alan key....I also have dedicated alan keys and screwdrivers in their own pouch in the range bag. These tools get used for nothing else. I'm not even a hot shot competitor, and I have this base covered. But if it's quicker, that's cool
I think they should add some way to adjust when it's scorching hot such as intervals to use a casing or tip of a bullet to adjust it, maybe some bumps/notches at intervals for adjusting without having to check the gas setting number, and maybe even knurling? Just some small changes I think would help give the end user a feeling of more "valued features" for what they're purchasing.
Also, I think this is a pretty great concept. Thought about the idea of a FAL-esque adjustable block for ARs that didn't involve using a screw or finagling the tip of a bullet through a slot in a handguard to change your gas setting.
This is great
The Zen of cleaning is not to be disregarded. I first found the Zen as a kid cleaning and polishing my first car. I’ve found the Zen doing all sorts of things since, some of them are: washing and polishing a floor; cleaning, preparing and painting a room; cleaning/maintaining a swimming pool; building a “hot” engine to drop into a project car. My best one was camping, waking up before dawn, walking up a mountain in the dark, watching the sunrise all alone in the world. I’ve found the Zen in strange places, at odd times I’ve found it while running, that’s the most intense form, almost out of body.
Lay off the peyote…
@@johnschall3013 oh ye of little faith, the Zen of everything will get you when you least expect it, not out of a bottle, or through a syringe or from a pill but from the act of living in calm contemplation.
I doubt you were all alone at the top of the mountain.
You know it’s serious when you bring out the oven mitt 😅 - Checked to see if I can run one, but all of them were X’d out based on my ar15’s measurements :(
I was expecting a $300 tag on it. Very nice!
Nice thanks
Insane!
Game changer
Holy shit, look at the fireball from the unsuppressed mag dump..... SO RAD 🤘🤘
My bit of critique: you know, in lieu of having a bad day, leaving the range all grumpy and kicking the dog on the way to the kitchen afterwards, it is a simple thing to stop at just about any retail store, hardware box franchise, even the neighborhood grocery store, and pick up several thirty-three cent allen keys for adjusting the gas flow. If it turns out to be a soft metal tool, toss it in the trashcan and use another. I carry a pouch with dozens and replace the cheap ones as needed while hardened tool steel not so much.
Pretty much what the FN FAL use to have back in the day
🔥🔥🔥 indeed
I just use an adjustable bcg, adjusted once and done
until you change ammo or calibers. Don't get me wrong, I have one. Just a bit of a pain.
@@Ripper13F1V understood, this bcg seems to work with Tula up to full strength .223.
Self cleaning, where have we heard that used in conjunction with the AR platform.......oh yeah, 'Nam...don't you believe it....
This is going on my fancy build
Silencerco 36M review coming?
I just had a set screw pop out of an adjustable gas block... it made the strangest whistle sound I've ever heard. I checked the chamber and there was the shell... I checked the chamber to make sure it was empty after manually extracting the shell by racking it and I stopped firing that gun because that range is super anal about doing any "maintenance" on the range, but when I got back home I removed the handguard and saw a gaping hole in the front of the gas block... It's not really "adjustable" more one of those "tunable" types. Initially, once I had got it where it was dependable; but not too gassy, I used red locktite and assumed it was good... after about 300 rnds it still walked itself out... This looks right up my alley... great review as usual.
Locktite is heat sensitive like super glue.
Heat is how you get locktite items apart.
@@willardlentz3044 Right, I understand stand, thus why I used red loctite, which as I understand, is solid up until about 700 degrees F. Also that's what was recommended by the manufacturer (Odin Works) and I wanted to be able to take a torch to it and make future adjustments to it as the gas port erodes. That particular gun is cooled via chamber cooler after each shot as my wife only uses it for group shooting at 100 - 300 yds. So were never mag dumping or heating the barrel to ridiculous temps. I considered rockset; but decided against due to wanting to have the ability to adjust it if need be... what would you suggest? Vibratyte maybe? Any feed back would be appreciated.
@@boss350z5 Most locktite type formulas are based on super glue.
The best is a tight fitting thread but you probably don't have the tooling to do that.
Vibratyte might work but I have very little experience with it.
It is also a superglue derivative but I think it has a higher temp rating. Check the label.
Somebody correct me if I am wrong.
Even small groups will ruin red if the thread fit is loose.
Sorry I can't help too much here.
Good luck
@@willardlentz3044 Yeah, definitely dont have the tooling for that. I'll try the vibratyte and see if that holds; but you're definitely right about the threads being loose, i got a replacement screw for it and it wiggles. I changed the block to a superlative arms adjustable and we'll take it out this Sunday to tune the gas. Ive never had issues with Odin Works parts before; but this gas block let me down for sure. Thanks for the info.
@@boss350z5 You are very much welcome and good luck with your block.
I have also noticed loose screws in other items but that is quality control and there seems to be a lot less lately than in the past
I wouldn't mind having one for my AR 10 because of the drastic difference in pressures between different types of ammunition. But I don't change my load often enough to justify the price.
I like tinkering with firearms a little, I had this installed in 15 minutes? I have a 16" with mid-length gasI hadn't tested it yet but i am Super Siked ! This Gasblock is made Solid and is Premium Quality Fellas! A little over 200 to be able to tune for Everything.... It is a Deal.
Have you been able to try it out yet?
@@jmoney4102 Yes,It NOW runs like everything I had hoped for. I am running a T-2 spikes Buffer and a 2 port muzzle brake and It runs fantastic, dialed it down to a perfect 4:00 pm ejection w/brass in a neat little pile 4ft. away! Seceret Sauce right here!
Not bad but ill stick to my trusty slr rifleworks adj. gas blocks. Ive used dozens and they are solid.
i have the slr ti. clamp on adjustable there sweet , i lube mine with hopes 9 , keeps adjustment screw from sticking . slr , awesome gas blocks !
I've been a fan of the strike gridlock but shit I ain't gonna argue about this one at all lol
Watch the plastic sided ammo box bounce during the Riflespeed upper slowmo.
Seems cool, but a little above my pay grade.. still definitely needs an adjustment tool! 😂 try using a hook wrench.
Damn another missed opportunity I have look at fal gas block many times wondering why someone didn't make a dial style adjustable block for America's rifle
How many rounds you got through that AAC can
I wonder if this would work with a 3 gun competition setup AR with a light BCG, are the gas adjustments enough to work with a lightend BCG? ...
You can buy different sized plungers which widen the effective adjustment beyond the 12 clicks with the stock plunger; i.e. a plunger that blocks more gas, allowing "lower" adjustment than the stock plunger, and vice versa. Still 12 clicks with each plunger, but some block more gas, others allow more.
Works GREAT
Is this good for people who will wanna adjust their gas but don’t have a weapon with a built in adjustable gas block?
Absolutely. You will replace your current gas block with this adjustable gas block, and you'll be good to go.
im not really familiar with suppressors but this is bad ass
what brake do you have on your mk18?
Looks like a great product for a multi use gun.
A very coo3 device if work's needed
Good product to see, did see gas though.
would be nice to see a .875 something for the big bores. like running 350gn and 500gn .458 socom
It's in the works. No ETA yet, though.
Considering this for my DDM4V7. 🤔
I approve of this.
Hello fireball 🔥
What inner diameter handguard will this require? Looks like a great product.
We’ve run it under a handguard as small as 1.225” ID. That’s the Midwest Industries Night Fighter Rail. Most slim handguards are 1.3” so there’s plenty of room. Thanks for your interest!
@@riflespeed sounds like it should fit my DDM4V7. 😁
I am interested. Pretty cool idea. No need to go over the benefits of a gas block or try and convince us of that though, this product just makes it easier to adjust by hand quickly, it doesnt do anything different in operation than typical gas blocks.
Thanks for your interest Jim! Our Gas Controls are completely modular which allows user-level maintenance, cleaning, reconfiguration and upgrades with no tools. There’s a huge potential to easily do things that are difficult (at best) with set-screw designs. Plus, with numbered and repeatable settings you’ll always know what setting you’re on and can easily go to another known setting without issue.
@@riflespeed Yes, it is readily apparent that the interface on this gas block is phenomenal, my point was just that this video spent 2/3’s of the time trying to prove that adjustable gas blocks make it more pleasant to shoot suppressed - something we all agree on already.
You should really put a ratcheting type suppressor mount on your weapons so they won't work loose !
Is it possible to add a suppressor to the Springfield Armory Edge EVAC? In 556?
@NFA Review Channel
Why wouldn't it be possible?
If you have a "budget" rifle that doesn't have an adjustable gas block could you use this as a substitute so to speak?
You replace your gas block with this gas block. This gas block is adjustable.
Yup
Hope they make a longer adjusting extension for pistol length gas 16” 300bo barrels. Definitely a great idea
Why
Yeah, why?
I’ve got a pistol length gas barrel and I like 13” to 15” handguards. The longest extension the make installed on a pistol length gas system is only 10” long so I wouldn’t be able to adjust it
@@jeffhuntley2921 you have a 16" 300blk bruh ... You drunk?
Where can buy this gas block system? 💥💥💥
The only product that is similar is the strike industries adj. gas block. I just can’t bring my self to buy it as it is a clamp on style. This peaks my interest quite a bit.
The two use completely different methods of operation. Thanks for your interest!
It being strike should be enough to keep you away
I have the strike industries one. It's a toolless pain in the ass.
Need to know were to by it. No link put it in video
UA-cam forbids gun product links. Just Google it.
Where can i buy one of those MP5 clones that are sitting behingd you on your left or right shoulder ??
Dakota Tactical makes a solid MP5 sear ready gun. I have two reviews up on my channel.
I've done some poor man's mods, drilled holes in my charging handle. I've drilled a slightly larger vent hole in my receiver extension and drilled a 3/64 hole in the bottom of the forward assist near the roll pin. These mods have reduced some gasface but I still get the occasional gas blast that stings your eyes and burns your throat if you managed to breathe in. Running DeadAir Sandman S.
Sucks that I had my 13.7 pinned and welded.
What’s better than a good excuse to build a new AR? 👍🏻🤘🏻
Piston
they dont' have one for the most common config of 16" barrel, midlength gas with 15" handguard.
Shoot them an email. I’m sure they can help. 🍻
Handguard length is the issue on that one. The model RS7558 is made for a 16” midlength, but the 15” handguard means you won’t have the recommended 1-inch exposure for the Control Knob (the numbered part you turn to make adjustments). As long as you can live with less than 1-inch exposure on the Control Knob then the RS7558 is your solution. There’s a pic of a 16” midlength with an RS7558 on our Instagram. That pic shows a 13.7-inch CMT handguard, but you’ll be able to see how the RS7558 fits behind the muzzle device. Thanks for your interest!
get a new handguard
@@riflespeed gotta say, I agree with OP. 16" barrel + 15" handguard is by far the most common setup ... Everyone gains if you accommodate it.
@@DinoNucci no one wants to accommodate more configurations as much as we do. It’s not up to us, though. If the handguard covers the entire barrel then there is no room to grab and turn the Control Knob. The model RS7558 is made for the 16” midlength. If you don’t mind having the control knob under the handguard then that’s your ticket.
I have an OSS suppressor. Never have issues with gas, and never have to adjust anything...
Yeah because you essentially bought a linear compensator
@@MrGible It’s quiet tho. At least from behind the muzzle. I only need it to be quiet from the shooting line anyway. And if it doesnt make me cry, good. Also very easy to clean
I have an oss 556 ti with a Bren 2. I still adjust the gas setting to suppressed for an extra comfortable experience. It’s not necessary with oss cans but there are still advantages
Isn't there a few AK's that already have something of this sort from factory ?.
Very cool product. Does it have an ‘off’ position?
Probably the largest number, but idk for sure.
You can use a longer Plunger to shut off the gas. We offer several sizes. 👍🏻
Looks like the end of that can has a couple strikes 15 minutes and 57 seconds in
its a great product, I like it alot, and I'll likely get one.. in a few years when they go on sale. At 199+, they can keep it. I hope they go mainstream and are able to drop the price due to volume.
Will this completely shut off the gas if desired? Could be cool to use it like a hush puppy style slide lock pistol
If u want that just get a adjustable gas block that you can fully close
@@icejjfish2191 no, the entire appeal would be the ability to do it on the fly like the Hush Puppy.
You can select a longer Plunger to shut down gas.
@@Super-Kuper you could try subs and hope it just doesn’t cycle lol
@@icejjfish2191 I don’t think you understand what I’m hoping to do. The whole point would be to keep the action fully closed to keep it as quiet as possible. Unlocking the action at all would defeat the purpose.
Will this allow you the shoot an AR10 suppressed with subsonic ammo?
I don't even think I've ever seen subsonic .308 ammo
@@thesickening0169 I just purchased 8 boxes!
@@davidpayne6385 Wow, thats crazy man. What manufacturer? I'll have to keep my eyes open for it.
If the gun won’t run subsonic with a normal gas block, it will not with this one (or any adjustable gas block). Adjustable gas blocks restrict gas flow, they don’t add any.
Atomic ammo makes cycling subsonic 308 ammo. There is at least one video of a Riflespeed customer shooting it through his Gas Control-Equipped .308 on UA-cam. Look for Urban Marksman Captain.
I run adjustable bolt carriers. No more adjustable gas blocks.
Does back pressure in the gas tube reduce longevity. That's why I haven't bought one yet. I figured more pressure in the gas tube would cause it to blow up when it gets hot especially.
Block adjusters just keep the pressure in the barrel which only helps projectile speeds. But has no negative effects otherwise
I havnt had any issues yet. I dont run full auto. But i do run it pretty hard. I use the bootleg industries carriers. Multiple length ar's. And they function flawless with little to no gas in the face.
Did this product ever take off? I have not seen it discussed since.
