Tears will not make you appear soft, they make you authentic. Do not change that! There would be way less conflict in this world, if more people were like you. You two are amazing together. ♥️
This was written in 1982 at the time of the Falklands War between Britain and Argentina, the backstory is of a soldier dying on the battlefield, he is thinking about his life, his comrades around him and won't leave him, it has become a sort of unofficial anthem for servicemen in that you never leave anyone behind, you bring your brother home, the song highlights how senseless and wasteful war is, a huge thank you to all men and women for their service, deepest sympathy to those who have lost someone ❤
For me this is an ultimate anti-war song. I consider myself as one of the oldest Dire Straits fans. Since 1980, when I heard Sultans of Swing for the first time and I didn't even know who they were, it took me almost half a year to figure that out. And they are still one of the greatest bands ever. The rest is history.
Do you also know a song called Eddie about a soldier that came back from the Falklands ..it was on the b side of a single. I don't know the artist. Don't remember the A side
First the goosebumps then the tears lol One of my favourite tracks of all time MARK actually makes the guitar cry. Music is supposed to move you in some way. IMO a masterpiece
NATO as a US tool has used brothers against brothers again. The song was written about Nicaragua but the same methods are employed by the US, bloody coup, arming fascist thugs in Ukraine and make them kill their brothers and neighbours.
Andre you are a sensitive man with a big, kind heart. We see it in your face, we hear it in your voice, and know it from your words. These are characteristics that we should all have. Embrace them. I can see the Dominica is proud of you. That is all that is important. Thanks to you both for sharing your genuine reactions. ☺✌❤, PJ
I was once hurt in a relationship but seeing you two honestly makes me realise that opening your heart and making yourself vulnerable is truly worth it great reaction and even better couple hope your having a great day if you see this

You have now discovered the two guitar players who can delve deep into your soul and emotions like nobody else ... Mark Knopfler and David Gilmour . The next Dire Straits track has to be Telegraph Road Live from the Alchemy Tour . Its remarkable .
Honestly if you didn’t have tears that’s not a sign of being tough it’s a sign you haven’t got a good heart or a humane personality , your tears are a strength of a good character , great reaction to an amazing piece of music
This song is written from the point of view of a dying soldier saying goodbye to his comrades. Everything about this is fantastic mark is a songwriter and guitarist of the highest order.
I'm a 62 year old man, this song still brings tears to my eyes, so don't feel bad that you have the same reaction as many people it shows empathy, thank you for your reaction video. ❤
These are not ordinary songs. You're being given songs that stand out for any given reason. That's why we offer them to you. You give them the respect they deserve.
I've watched three reactions to this song tonight and my eyes leaked during every one of them. Having an emotional reaction to music is what makes us human!
I'll let you in on a secret. This song makes me cry every time I hear it. And I've broken horses, bathed with gators, jumped from planes and swam in oceans. I played and coached American style football and wrestling, I've tracked down fugitives, climbed mountains, etc. I don't think of myself as soft because this song gets to me. You're not soft.
It's incredible what music can do to you. I think somethings are so beautiful to us, that our tears start running. Unexplainable, beautiful and touching.
Dire Straits is one of the few bands that can really play with your emotions either happy or sad. It doesn't matter because they pour their soul in to their music and narrating/ singing, he's really a story teller and the guitar is the emotions. It's good to see it makes us cry because it's a sign it's a masterpiece and also that we're all human.
This song was written after the capture of the outer Falkland Islands, including the Isle of Goats, where SAS soldiers surprised a group of Argentine army fighters. It was a violent battle, where many men were sent to their eternal glory. This song is in tribute to them, including Lt. Green and Sgt Batchelor. RIP.
Crying is a good marker to determine a great work of Art. I also cry a lot when encountering something that "speaks" directly to me. We usually have barriers with which we protect our "thin" soul strings. But when we eet with a masterpiece we take those barriers away and let ourselves loose some water.
Don’t be ashamed to cry my friend- be proud. You have the soul to be moved by beautiful music. And the theme of this song should make us all cry, for man’s inhumanity to man, and in a positive way for the spirit of brotherhood We’re here because you get it, like we do. Walk tall friends- your hearts are pure and I love you for it
Softness, kindness and empathy is not weakness my friend. It is the strongest thing in the world. It enables you to help people in the worst possible situations and spread happiness in the world. So please, don't be ashamed of your emotions. Makes you more human then most. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
The two of you are just so beautiful here. Andrei, don't be ashamed that this music moves you to tears- believe me you are not the only one. And Dominika , it so lovely to see your love for Andrei here. Thank you both for sharing this.
I just came across your reaction. I love your raw emotion.......his guitar weeps/cries....the silence of just listening to his guitar has so much emotion (silence is powerful & has a deeper meaning sometimes) that it makes us take note & reflect on Life.
I served in the military and love this song, it's so profoundly deep and hearwrenching making my emotions well-up for my brothers that gave so much and those who gave it all.
Music has a way of touching the soul...and sometimes it unleashes a flood of emotion (both happy and sad)! Dire Straits & especially Mark Knopfler tapped into this emotion with this track! I can't make it through without getting at least misty eyed, or full-on crying. The lyrics speak of the futility, stupidity & senselessness of war - "We're fools to make war on our brothers in arms". It doesn't matter the 'side' - there really are no winners or losers in war. Most soldiers don't want to be there - they just dream of a peaceful life. Mark's guitar lines put that longing on full display here. And that's what taps into your soul. Beautiful song, great reaction.
Beautiful ! dont ever change you sincere immediate reaction because that in itself tells you all you need to know about the sheer talent of Dire Straits ! well done !
It's no shame to cry to this song. Every time I listen to this masterpiece of an anti-war song, it goes straight to my heart, my soul and the tears flow. I appreciate the honesty of your reaction. No more war.
In my opinion, if this song doesn't get the tears flowing, I think you may not be human. This song is powerful in how it evokes feelings of compassion and comraderie for our fellow human beings and ALL of the soldiers who served their countries
"We are fooks to make war on our brothers in arm" sounds extra true these days. Don't try to be a tough guy, André. You are a sensitive soul and you are loved for that. Your emotions are beautiful.
I keep watching this reaction, your response to this first listen makes me wish I could listen for the first time…… your heartbroken silence as you looked at each other when it finished says all I need to hear
Music like this removes the blocks we have created covering our hearts and puts us in pure connection with ourselves. This is part of where the tears come from. It's the same result as meditation. Love your reactions, as always. Do yourself a favour and listen to the album version without the official video it's about 2 minutes longer and has so much more delicious guitar.
Hi Guy's don't ever stop being you, you are 2 very good Souls, I have seen this many times but the Tears still stream from m eyes, Heart felt, ATB From an English Brother Wayne, UK........
It is nice not only to hear music but also to feel music. Whether laughing or crying, both are part of it for me. Unfortunately, many people have lost the ability to express their emotions. You two haven't lost that ability yet, thank God.🤘❤
Thx reacting in such a respectful manner. I spent almost the entirety of the 90s in conflict zones. Everyone having the experience of forged bonds and losses from wars feel deeply about this song. For me it means the World. Thx again.❣
It is so beautiful to watch you break your hears whilst I am here in tears. No one wanted British or Argentinian men to die for a pointless war. All men know they grow to be killed when their state calls. Love to you both. liked n subbed.

Hi Andrei, nothing wrong with songs who can touch you. In the past I listen thousand times to this song. So good. About soldiers and stupid war I listen also to ‘Christmas True’ of Sabaton, with Floor Jansen at the end ( I thought you already react on this song). But some leaders in the world don’t listen to this music, they like to ‘play’ with young soldiers. Poor boys.
This song was written from the heart so it touches our hearts and it is natural and human to cry when we are touched by sadness...never apologise for feeling....if we all felt more then maybe we could unlearn war ❤
When music hits you when you're left speechless enjoy it because it's rare. Mark Knopfler plays in a way that hits the core to your nervous system. Dire straits still give me goose bumps 40 years on.
Love this reaction! Some won't understand - but some people just listen to music, some really like music but some people really FEEL the music and Andrei is one of those people. There's a line in a Gary Jules song, "They never tell you, 'There's strength in vulnerability', They only tell you Not to cry"
I'm a 66 year old man. I've been listening to this song since it was released, and I get weepy every time.
Don't apologize for feeling something. 👍
Same here my Friend. I am 65 in May and the one thing that is so important about this is that The Sun always shines in The End 🙏
