I especially love how thorough you are. You do such a great job teaching how things really work. I started my lumen 2 weeks ago and my first metabolic score was an 18. Between my keto mojo and lumen I have my am blood sugars down from 405, 472 & 569 fasted on 3/28/2024 to 97, 86, and 87. Such a nice change. My ketones are no longer high and they are still strong between 1.3 to 3.3. What really helped too was upping that fasting window from 16 hours to 20-22 hours. When I use ro fast my glucose went up, now it is going down. Ty for your passion and commitment to educate us older women ❤
Hello Barbara here😊thank you for this interesting video … I tried to fast for some years now… and I have ketones and glucose monitors but I found difficult to control so I recently bought a Lumen(and I found you in the same time ☺️) !
Thank you for this video. I had never heard of GKI before. This all makes sense. Now I know why I haven’t been losing weight even if I had .6 ketones…my blood sugars have been too high.
thanks for this. just ordered a lumen so wanted to get the skinny before I start using it. this all seems like common sense but common sense can go out the window in the face of the instruction pamphlet!
Thankyou for this video! Woke up a 4, 2 after fasted workout, 3 at 20.5 hrs fasted with a GKI of 5.2! I know its my sleep that makes me a 3/4 in morning! Have been working on that for years.
It is good that you know it is sleep. If everything else you are doing is working for you give yourself some grace. It is not about perfection. It is about being happy AND healthy.
July 22 graduate (yay first time saying that). Excellent video, I learned so much about the Lumen now. Going to make the Lumen work for me now. Will definitely be watching this a few more times.
Love your content and that sweater! Where did you find it? Brand? So much good information and you answered many questions I've had about my Lumen readings. Thank you!!
I have a lumen. I've been long dry fasting and I'm not budging in weight or clothing fit. Keto more carnivore. Zero carbs. I'm absolutely sure I'm insulin resistant. I'm disappointed by my metabolic rate...it's tanked. I'm post menopausal, 5yrs. I walk everyday. I don't go too crazy with my Lumen. I am at 20 hours dry fasting. I'm so frustrated. I'll try to not freak out....I'll look into getting a glucose monitor.
Hello, I’m new to Lumen. I have not opened mine yet because I wanted to done little more research. I’m post menopausal and in my early 50’s. I’m not sure if I can follow the macros recommended as I cannot consume say, 100 fat grams or more than say, 30 grams of carbs (if the Lumen recommends these numbers.) How do I get around this?
I am new here and my issue is only getting weight off to be who was before COVID lockdown. I have done 2 days of 20+ fasting and hoping that by as the week ends I get .5 to 1 lb off. Is this a reasonable goal. And I have been stuck here for more than 1 year and strugg;ed to move the needle! The Lumen is on order and should be here in a week. I eat Ketovore and exercise daily.
I’ve been using Lumen for two weeks and so far it’s saying I have good metabolic flexibly. What product do you recommend for the additional testing for ketones , too?
Hi DyAnn, I am past graduate. So I just brought one with your code. Thank you for that! Question, your prior video on Luman you recommended spending first two weeks finding out metabolic flexibility. In this video you say you aren’t interested in that. Is that because you are no longer beginning? Just a little confused how to start. I am getting back on track with IF and clean eating, Thank you!
Yes, just do what you are doing for the 1st two weeks to build a foundation to start from. Once you have things down I recommend just going day to day!
So if you keep fasting after seeing a “3” in the afternoon, could it still be a 3 two hours later? And if yes, should I keep fasting until it goes down to a 2? Or just eat anyways? I was wondering why I had a 3 an hour after having a 2. I had just fasted for 20 hrs! Got super frustrated and just ate.
If you are eating out of frustration that is an emotional response and not a nutritional one. I don’t know your body chemistry so I can give you personal advice. For me, I fast until I have reached my fasting goal. If the Lumen goes up and I still want to fast I fast.
I have had bariatric surgery, so IF doesn’t really work that great for us because we can only eat small amounts of food at a time. Do you have success working with BS clients? Thank you!
Is it normal to wake up with glucose above 100 , then it drops into the 80's before I break my fast. Still seems high but I can't get it down. Also , I have never hit a 1 on my lumen. I fast 20 hours a day but not sure what I need to improve to hit a 1 and lower that glucose. -Trina March 2022 Graduate
Trina, normal no! Common, yes! It might be a sign that you haven’t really drained the tanks yet. Google Dawn Effect or Dawn phenomenon. Your body is just dumping glucose during your sleep. Just stay consistent and things will come down.

This finally makes sense .i use a lumen and are pre diabetic. Im using fasting and clean eating to correct it
Good for you. Keep us posted.

I’d love more videos about how to best use the lumen with our 20/4 lifestyle!
I coach more on that in the MLMSS group!

Old Navy several years ago.
New water fast journey. Not testing yet, but think it's a great tool.
Welcome.

I don’t follow dry fasting or carnivore. Just know it takes a while for your body to adjust and it is more than just food and fasting
Have a lumen and trying to fast daily 20 hours
Boom.

If you haven’t used it yet you have no idea what your macro recommendations are! This will take the guess work out.

What about a Libre or Dexcom for testing?
What about it specifically??
@@DyAnnParham well will those in place of .pricking fo.gers

I use this and love it: bit.ly/2WQiCG3 get the Promo Bundle so you have plenty of strips.
Thought about purchasing one but so glad I didnt after watching this as it seems to just make things more confusing
There is a learning curve for sure.

August 2022 grad yay me!! So if you do 18 month track, what happens after the 18 months?
I’m using the Lumen and I can’t get all my macros and I’m gaining weight!! Super frustrating! I would fast for 16 hours
I have lumen - where do you find all these numbers for glucose etc?
The Lumen recommendations?
@@DyAnnParham yes - the part where your showing your glucose/ketones
@Debsimmco2 the Lumen numbers are found in the app! If you speaking about specific glucose and ketone readings that is a different measure.
Lumen would be great but it’s too expensive!
There are other ways to reach the same goal! Fast long, feast well, and train smart.

I cannot afford one and cannot justify spending that much
No need to purchase something that does not make sense for us.
I use a Lumen
I love it! How are things going?
What is your email address, I would like to ask you a question Thanks!
