- Suzuki GSX-R Not Starting, Repair the fuel pump on our Suzuki GSX-R 1000. We remove the fuel tank from the GSX-R so we can access the fuel pump, then we remove the fuel pump from the tank to diagnose the problem. We will show you a couple common issues with a fuel pump. clogged fuel filter and a bad electrical connection causing the fuel pump problems on this GSX-R. We’ll replace the fuel filter and repaired the pump wire on our GSX-R.

Awesome vid, my 03 750 was warming up then suddenly the idle started getting lower til it died. Now it won't start at all so after I check fuses, this video will be my next step. Thanks for the vid!

Two Wheel Rocco what would you recommend for a fuel pump that occasionally primes? Fuses/Relays or new fuel pump?
I remember doing my K1 600 ...pretty much the same... fuel pump was bad...wouldn’t tach past 4 grand....bogged An died..had bad to end up ordering one online.. after cleaning the fuel filter ...many times..and cleaned inside the gas tank ( much rust) I was just wondering about any tips to prevent rust again ? Great video...I wish I would of seen this back when I was working on mine...

Are you talking about the O-rings on the pump? You'll be all right you'll see it when you take it apart. They usually end up working. Man I'm pulling my bald headed hair out my gsxr 750 02 pump will not prime everything else is good I just replaced the pump and it still wouldn't start but after watching this video I my have cracked my lead wire it was old and I had to bend it to get the pump back in the bike I'll check tomorrow I dont have a power pro but in theory could I just use my 12v bike battery for that purpose?

Where did you purchase the rebuild kit at? I have an 03 GSXR 750 and noticed you have 3 wires but everything I’m looking to purchase only has 2 wires.
I purchased mine on eBay the two wire in the three wire. it's just a different gas gauge set up the two and the three will work back-and-forth, the main plug is three the fuel pump will be two or three it will work, Let us know how this works out. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Hello Sir. The lead you fixed, in your opinion, is it ok to just replace the whole wire same length with new leads because mine is so rusted that both leads were corroded? If yes should it be the same gauge wire? Thank you so much for sharing this very informative video by the way .

Two Wheel Rocco Sir regarding the heat shrink you used, was it gasoline resistant, or it doesn’t matter? I just found another wire with a cracked/brittle insulation wrapped around it is exposed. Wire is exposed to gasoline. Thank you

Hey hi! I have a question and maybe you have an answer, I hope! I was hardwiring a new rectifier in and arched off something, blew a fuse, continued wiring the rectifier, replaced the popped fuse but now the bike has FI on with chec on the readout and won't prime or start! What the hell happened??? Thank Yu for your help and dor suggestions!
If it's not priming that means your pump is not getting juice. Tried to bypass and get juice to your pump and then try to start. Let us know how that works out. Just as a test. Thank you for all your support and your sub Christian. Ride safe and have a great day.

How many wires does it come out from the main harness for your fuel pump mines only has three and a Gsxr 2002 600
Happy to help. Three wires in the earlier models. They went to two wires after 04. But you could check on eBay and and look at their used pumps for sale. Thank you for watching and your sub Angel. I ended up buying a used pump from eBay because my fuel light stayed on. the wiring is very delicate on the Suzuki pumps for the gas gauge. Hope this helps hope this helps.
How can I test if mine is working at all ,it's got power to it so not relays,IV removed it from tank now need test some how ,thanks for any help you could give

Happy to Help. That was three years ago. I would test it with a 12 V battery as long as the pump works you're in good shape the other wire will be for the gas gauge. What I would do is go to eBay and take a look at the used pumps of your year. See how the wire is laid out. shouldn't be that bad. Sorry I couldn't tell you exactly. I have a question. I was given a 06 Gsxr 600. I plan on picking it up this weekend. The bikes looks to be in ok condition but my cousin put a new pump on it and runs for thirty seconds then cuts off like it's running out of gas. I can go further in debt when I pick it up

@@TwoWheelRocco im pretty sure i need a new pump but dnt wanna risk the 800$ oem one after my older 05 became salvaged plus not guarenteed thats the issue. I purchased the 70$ quantum pump to attempt to fix it. Any suggestions on shitty cheap pump. Apparently some reviews approved it

What should I do when I check everything but the light still showing that it’s empty when it’s full
Happy to help. That would tell me you have a bad wire on the pump that energizes the fuel light. When you take a look at the pump, I believe there's three wires and they are very low quality do not disturb type wires that break real easy. they just don't make the full connection. when the pump was taken apart and replaced, there's a good chance one of those wires a cracked inside might look good but It is not sending the signal and that just makes the red light on.. @@TwoWheelRocco thanks Rocco the wires all looked great and intact but there’s only two wires on the pump one for the pump and one for the little sliver boba that it has on the side on your video you have two silver boba mines only has one that sends the Signal when it’s low on gas could that possibly be bad it’s not sending a signal and how do you test that if it only has one wire into it mines motorcycle is a GXR 600 2002 Any thoughts will be great

I did not get a code. It was an 01 bike.
