I love the 579 over the 389. Much more room in the sleeper. The only thing I’d change is the fifth wheel. It’s too low for hauling chemical tankers. But what a gem. Nice price too.
i have a 2016 Peterbilt 389 flat top sleeper which mine is colored black i been doing long haul for two years now and the pete i drive is amazing i also have a flame thrower kit which i love thats the number one special piece of my truck lol
Hay bro, no one cares about the chrome as much as you think we do. We want to see the sleeper in great detai. I couldn't even see the bed how small or big. All the space in the sleeper, the fregirator how big it is, and generally how it looks not from the sleeper to the cabin but from the cabin to the sleeper. Thanks for making the video. Please tell us your financing options too.
Thanks for the input bro, some people actually buy trucks form me because they are tired of monochromatic fleet specs and like some chrome to show pride in their ride. I will take your notes into consideration on the view and the refrigerator. Financing options are for good credit, 72 months, 10-25k down is common
Is there a specific name for that type of rig? I understand it’s a peterbuilt 579 but your rigs seem to have everything!! Smoke stacks etc.... thank you! Future owner prospect!
Sir Steve !!! Yeah !!! Great truck,,but what about driver comfort as far as an APU unit or Battery powered APU for sleeping !!! Idling ain't good for any engine !!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!!
Tastefully done o/o look....didn't think it was possible on one of these....well done...if only they had an upgraded less plastic/fantastic dash available in these
Beautiful! You wouldn't happen to have one equipped the same way, but with single bunk, in legendary teal inbound would you. I have a 2017 579 but would like the Cummins instead of the paccar.
With Kenworth coming out with the W990 utilizing this 2.1 meter cab I'm curious to see if Peterbilt will do a long hood model like Kenworth has done with the W900 line, hence the W990. Also heard something about as of 2025 no more air cleaners on the outside of the trucks.
When are you going to do one of these 579's up like that two tone chocolate tan 300" wheel base 389? Another amazing video. And another great truck. We have a few of these here in fort worth where I work at TNT Crane and Rigging but they are bare bones chop top coffin sleepers and cabs with 10 speed transmissions. I don't think anyone quite appreciates a stand up sleeper quite like some who is 6'4". Nothing but the best from Oklahoma
yep real cash out the window -run the true #"s and be honest- it truly costs but if your in a place where ego is big and your pocket book is too then go for it! 29 years OO
Peterbilt must not ask real Truckers on panel configuration. 1. Hazards switch out of view and low. We slap these on in emergencies when Brake Checks occur. Traffic suddenly stops dead on the interstate. 579 Steering wheel blocks vision of the switch. 2. Headlamps switch panel does not illuminate. Dark at night. 3. No tiny light to enlighten red and yellow parking buttons. 4. CB radio box does not allow ventilation for powerful radios. Overheating. Exterior dash or ceiling option is better. 5. Door dome light kill switch needed. In rough tough cities you let everyone know that you exited the cab. We like the clandestine ops sometimes. Darkness is our friend sometimes. 6. Turn signal lever too sloppy. I inadvertently turn on the bright headlights much of the time. Ya know, per bumpy roads-Peterbuilt designers? 7. Cup holders not sturdy and odd. Adjustable brackets are on my Dakota 2000 year. 20 year old Putt putt. Jeeez! Cup holders also squeak and rattle. 8. Radio speakers are as antiquated as days of AM radio. 9. Need USB ports around dashboard. 10. No red bulb pilot lamp options. For night driving. A dimmer switch for present 579s would be great. Ask a plane pilot. Aircraft panels are better. They hold the yoke with their left hand. They work radios and most switches with the right. Take tips from them.
Nice video! I have a question. I am a truck driver from the netherlands, and our release of the trailer(fifth wheel) is always on the shoulder side, as in, right hand side. Why is it on the left in America? (sorry for the possible not correct english, I am dutch,,)
Steve, Is it possible to get that cab with a single bunk and with more cabinets on the back wall? I need more storage when my wife comes along which will be very often when we retire.
Nice looking. I'm a OTR driver looking to buy my first truck looking around not sure if I want a all New or a Glider upgrade can you help with idea's. But I'm not to much for all the Chrome.
Michael Mohrmann, their are plenty of drivers like myself who don't want or trust automatics in trucks. Yes you can get an auto in a Pete, but I'd say most of us don't want them.
I'm in an automated now, i was so excited to try it out, this thing gets great millage 8.5-9 average but so many minor issues. Much rather have a manual
Josh Riles gotcha. I never knew they had limits on wheel base. Guess that’s why I’ve never seen any kw or petes pulling a prime box. Good luck with it driver.
Can this be ordered with the car hauler front axle? APU? Black with painted tanks to match? Smoked cab and sleeper lights? 3 door headache rack to match the truck? Swivel seats? 605hp/2050tq for pulling a 3 axle lowboy up and down the mountains without any hesitation?
I don't get why over the road guys order the 389, you spend so much time in the truck, wouldn't you rather have something with a lot more room in it like the 579. Or the 567, more room than a 389 but has a bit more of a traditional look to it.
Is a 275 to 280 wheelbase too much to still do doubles I don't want to be limited bet we can talk about other stuff to I am wanting to be able to do other stuff to
Clindon James Super singles suck if you ever go off the pavement, such as flatbed deliveries. Also when one gets blown out, it ruins the rim , and that costs even more $$$$.
Josh Riles I guess you mean they hydroplane. I can see that. Years ago, I had 44"x15" Gumbo mudders. Great flotation, bad to hydroplane. Thanks for your information. Much appreciated. 👌🏽
lucky vintage lock with DAF panels an buttons from 2011, funny Americans. I think the Panels came from the Paccar group, but ten Years rather in Europe
I drive a 579 company truck now, and love the space. This is beautiful and has me leaning this way as I plan for my o/o dreams.
Make it happen! Good luck!
Keep on dreamin...my husband just order his 2019 peterbilt..😊
I love the 579 over the 389. Much more room in the sleeper. The only thing I’d change is the fifth wheel. It’s too low for hauling chemical tankers. But what a gem. Nice price too.

Beautiful truck to bring in the 19's. The 80 inch looks great with this wheelbase.
I appreciate that Lloyd
Another Great one Steve! I wouldn't mind at all to see some more 579's.
The ones I build are just like this, 1 or 2 bed and a variety of colors.
@@SteveCarbone ikkkklkilkjjjygghyyy
How much are these roughly
My hubby order one..😊 single sleeper since his not over the road trucker..he watch your videos all the time..lol...😊
I want this truck and I'm not even a truck driver. LOL
me too
I'm not really a fan of 579s w/o a skirt package, but, your boys do a great job making them look clean and classy
We really like this set up
I love these 579's.
Do they ride good

Thanks!

Yes I do
That red is beautiful. And has a few different shades depending on the light.
its very pretty
Who ever has this truck is lucky...Very nice n powerful... Quien sea que tenga este camion es suertudo. Muy bonita y fuerte...
I love the 389 but the sleepers on the 389 and 579 are night and day!!
I need a beautiful truck like this😍
Te amo 😍
If this truck was a glider kit it would be the perfect truck.
In some peoples eyes yes
how can I see the paint if its covered in a layer of dust and dirt?

Whilei love the old school conventional trucks ....it's getting hard to argue with money in your pocket every mile down the road

I'm not a trucker, but I admire you guys. Can anyone tell me why 2 beds? If your a team, isn't someone always driving?
I bet it smells good to. Nice Pete.
New Peterbilt smell, look for my fragrance line coming out this fall!
Nice set-up 579.

Very interesting response. Probably a record in my 16 million views....
Nice looking truck love the color👍
Thanks so much for watching!
Would be nice if they can have a hands-free CB radio. That way the driver would always have his hands on the steering wheel.
That is a gorgeous truck!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
What a nice truck. I'd love to drive one.
Thanks!!
Why didn't you show the lower bunk?
Dunno
Tv set up where would that go and how much room is left if top bunk is left down?

What's the price difference between a 579 and a 389
If options are the same they are almost identical
@@SteveCarbone they dont make 379 no more?
+CHAVEZ the 389 is the new version of the 379. They're very close
@@TadTrueman thanks
I wanna see this in onyx metallic with Seminole paint scheme. beautiful dream rig
agreed!!!!
and the Pedals are from a 1979 Tatra from Tschechoslovakia ?
How do I get in touch with you. Would like to see what kind of deal you can do to get 5 of these in blue.
Steve, Is it possible to get that cab with a single bunk and with more cabinets on the back wall? I need more storage when my wife comes along which will be very often when we retire.
You sure can
I'm a company driver i drive 579 w sleeper by far best riding more roomy.
Good day - I'm new to the industry. How much horsepower does it have and does it come in automatic or only in the manual? Thank again.
I see it has four back up/hook up air lines lights on the back of the cab. Do you ever order with load lights instead?
Nice looking. I'm a OTR driver looking to buy my first truck looking around not sure if I want a all New or a Glider upgrade can you help with idea's. But I'm not to much for all the Chrome.
Can you get that sleeper without the top bunk and do the cabinet package on the back wall.
sure can
What does this model the way it is right now go for?
Can you get that with an APU and what would cash out the door be I don't do payments
with tripac ThermoKing 175000 out the door
Dang not bad will be calling verry soon
Here's a question: Has Peterbilt got any trucks with fully automatic transmissions? Thank you in advance.
of course its 2018 pretty sure everyone has an auto at this point
Oh really? Then please explain to me why I haven't seen any! >:(
He's done a couple videos with 389 that had auto shift
Michael Mohrmann, their are plenty of drivers like myself who don't want or trust automatics in trucks. Yes you can get an auto in a Pete, but I'd say most of us don't want them.

Thanks
Tiene palanca manual para frenar la traila? O no!
Can a 579 be built to these specs with a 230" wheel base with side skirts, just curious for when i buy a new one
Josh Riles that’s really really short.
BrandonPryorMusic it is short id like 245 but I'm leased on at prime(i know i know) but 230 is their limit
Josh Riles gotcha. I never knew they had limits on wheel base. Guess that’s why I’ve never seen any kw or petes pulling a prime box.
Good luck with it driver.
Yes it can, no problem
Can this be ordered with the car hauler front axle? APU? Black with painted tanks to match? Smoked cab and sleeper lights? 3 door headache rack to match the truck? Swivel seats? 605hp/2050tq for pulling a 3 axle lowboy up and down the mountains without any hesitation?
Yes nothing we can't do
Peterbilt Steve perfect well I’ll definitely will be traveling across the country to see you
@@SteveCarbone there is one thing you can't do: build a truck like nicholas gagnon he have over 2500hp
Thermidor le vrai or a GLIDER
Do Pete's have the option of a"drivers lounge" which is essentially table and chair like the cascadia 680 and Volvo?
not right now
Hey Steve, How come the 389s don't have the desk slide in the dash like the 579s,?
its just never been an option
Very nice looking truck. I'd love to see the black one.
Already sold

Can u add smart air or does peterbiilt have to do it
Will look good in front of a Tanker
Brett Booker perfect for a tanker you're right bro.
FOSHO!
Or anything else you put behind it, Brett!
Does factory have rap around curtains for the front?
I believe that it is an option I have a Kenworth it's a company truck and it came with the front cab curtains
No sir, not on the 389
Is a 275 to 280 wheelbase too much to still do doubles I don't want to be limited bet we can talk about other stuff to I am wanting to be able to do other stuff to
What happened to super singles? When I first heard about them, I thought they were going to replace duals. But, I'm no insider.
Beautiful.truck. 👍
Clindon James Super singles suck if you ever go off the pavement, such as flatbed deliveries. Also when one gets blown out, it ruins the rim , and that costs even more $$$$.
Bill 777 Thank 👍 you. I wondered about this, too.

Dr. Mark in Texas yeah they do
What automatic does Peterbilt offer in 579
A modern classic
Thank you
And idea of the mpg difference between the 389 and 579?
hi is it manual or automatic treansmision???
manual
What is the back of cab to center of trunion measurement on this set up?
Do you have something similar but on 13 speed? And how much is the cost for that truck.
Beautiful Truck
What’s the price difference between a similarly spec 389?
almost exact same
Do you still have this truck in stock i love it right wheelbase also
I have twins to it yes
Peterbilt Steve
Is it possible to get full minimizer fenders from the factory??
no sir
I'm surprised it's lighter than a 389, this having a larger cab,
Plenty of composite materials

whats the price on one around 160k or higher? id love to look at one.
PRETTY TRUCK
Awesome work brother
Thank you!
Would you ever do a ultraloft on a 579?
as soon as they become available, yes
What's the horse power again?
do you think because of the aerodynamic that this one has it will be more fuel efficient than 389?
I'm asking this because Steve said that the price is almost identical

Thanks Steve.

What’s the average price of one of these?
Where are you located
Can the 579 come with real gauges instead of nav screen
alex saftyuk yes
Yes but you get 20 virtual gauges!
without screen, 6 extra gauges.
So I'm assuming that the 2018 is already outdated
nothing changed
