I do this every year using Vactan before the mot, an hour rakes care of the rear beam and front crossmember/ suspension. If it shows rust the it get coated. My bugs 14 and as good as new so it'll probably see me on the scrap heap first. 😊
I’ve been impressed with it over the years too. We use 3 different ones at work, Putoline , ACF and XCP. They’re all good in their own way, I think the neatest is the Putoline, the best protecting is the XCP and the ACF is the middle one that’s not too messy and gives decent protection
My MkI just failed her MOT due to front subframe corrosion. I tried valiant to coat the underside between the advisory last year and failure this year, but alas. Hope this protects yours!
Was using some acf50 myself when I might have found the perfect rust prevention. Took a sticky label off a red and crusty drive shaft and behind it in the exact shape of the label was pristine silver metal. Never been changed, car is 17 years old. So bought a roll of foil tape and that's the weekend sorted 😂 But seriousness aside, bought the bottle variant of acf50 - the one that comes with the sprayer. Had to apply most of it by hand with gloves lol. Looks like it'll do some good though 👍
This is brilliant, gonna get some of that! Any chance you could make a video about how to get a shitter onto those ****king ramps - every time I try they just get ejected from behind me at great speed! 😩

I did consider lano but it’s deeeeeeear bro. I asked them for a price and was knocking on £100 for the kit and they told me it degrades after a year. I’d still love to try it though and reckon it probably does protect better than this method, but saying that I have seen ACF work wonders keeping bikes in good nick so I’ll just see how it goes with it
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideosdude, you’ve got essentially a million subs (give or take). Surely those Lanoguard people can sponsor an episode. That way, they’ll give you a promo code to hand out and we’ll all get a massive discount off their stuff. I’d buy some. Win/win 😊
Excellent videos. I think your the C1 God so need to ask a question, My Power Steering ECU has started clicking when the ignition is off (it clicks rapidly), just wondering if you have had this issue and know a fix ? (Pulling the plug that has a fat white and black cable I think it is, the one on the end stops it but connect it again and it starts again) Thanks
I’ve not had that issue but they are common for failing and people seem to replace them pretty often on the groups so I reckon it will be an issue I’ll get one day. Also though, check voltages. Modules can do weird shit when voltages are a bit low
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos thanks will do, I saw a video before by I think a repair company and they were replacing the relay inside the power steering control box, will give that a go sometime but for now I was thinking of maybe fitting a switch to that end connector to save unplugging and plugging it back in... the easier and cheaper fixes are always the best :-)
@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Thanks, yea saw some of them but then also read they need programmed to the car, I have a cable and software that I used to program a key so wonder if that could do it as well. Voltage at the wires is a steady 12.6v Yea the relay route is probably the way as it is a relay clicking noise and they sell relay fix kits for it..... only thing is the company that makes the relays discontinued them so it seems to have bumped the prices up and also unbranded AliExpress ones are floating around with the Omron brand stamped on them Going to see if there's any updated or alternatives before trying the ebay relays It's actually not to bad driving it without powersteering anyway
@@fremenondesand3896 I saw that video too! It’s a decent channel isn’t it. I’ve used diesel in the past and it has worked well. Before dropping the oil, we used to put a litre or 2 of diesel in the sump old lorries that I used to work on at my old job, and would bring a lot of crap out.
We should have got a video of you trying to get on the ramps I’m fairly sure there’s an opportunity missed! And also you missed that the surrounding road area will most likely never rust..ever see very environmentally friendly 😂 A good post thank you 👏

Admittedly I wasn’t being as careful as I usually am and just thought fuck it, and went right off the end 🤦♀️ The other side sill got a little more damage, but we’ll see that in another vid in a few weeks for some seamless repair work 🤣
There's some bungs under the carpet in the boot that might be worth removing, to coat the inside with. They seem to have a habit of rotting as well at the rear beam mounts where the spray with the tube could get in and slow down the process. Good video. Will slow it all down for sure.

Maybe lano lasts longer than I thought then. I was told by them it needs doing every year, which put me off at almost £100 for the kit

Is it just me or are the ACF50 cans generally shite? Great product but it never sprays well.
