Any reason for this? Salt, sea enviroment? Recently Lanoguarded the Aygo's sills, entire under-body, arches etc. and regularly keep previous said locations clean when washing the car?
Keeping it all clean and protected best possible helps, but our roads get salted which doesn’t help. Reason this one has failed is that it’s where the cat has been repaired in the past. It wasn’t a bad repair either.
IMHO, you did a nice job, turned out well. Much better welding than any of my efforts. The filler was a tell tale, not standard lol I have Mot in a couple months, hope no rust found
Superb video. I presume from the precise results that it can only be a TIG welder? Reminds me of the time when we “fixed” my mates car to get it through the mot with dustbin lids cut to shape and held in place with filler. Keep up the top work 👍
Thanks mate. I did the similar to the other c1 on a more recent video on the channel with a plate and some rivets. It’s ok if you repair it before the MOT tester sees it haha. A mig welder is generally the type to use on car bodywork even for more precise results. I’m not sure on price to be honest. This is a rough job though, if you look through my other vids there’s a welding job I did on my bmw which is much better than this quality wise
The joys of the UKs roads and salt I'm amazed a 09 plate bug is suffering with corrosion my old 05 wagon r was a solid shell with some under body surface corrosion but the rot set in on the cat flange and ate it away rendering it scrap for the price of the part 🤣

Fair play pal. I didn’t use any filler on the bmw I did a few weeks ago but this has been repaired in the past and without cutting the sill off a lot further forward, the steel is a few mm in behind a layer of filler anyway.
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Over here in Northern Ireland all repairs have to be seam welded and left bare for inspection at the retest ,, I did my 107 last week and the tester was set to fail it again as he couldnt see a repair , just a clean piece of sill , lol ,, thats where the repair actually was done , truth be told I was just showing off .
