It is not as horror as 20 years ago, at least nowadays there are wifi and even if you don't want to pay for wifi, there are still PTV and power plugs in economy, UA was an earlier airline that fly ultra long haul, from mid 90s they were already flying close to 16 hours ORD-HKG nonstop on their 744, there was nothing to entertain you in economy other than the pull down big screen on the bulkhead, you watch whatever is showing on the screen if not bring a book. There wasn't economy plus back then neither, so economy was cramped, 31" legroom and 17" seat width
I disagree. I am blessed and extremely fortunate that I am able to fly biz / first on my long haul trip, and personally I find that after around 7-8 hours, it starts to get long. Absolutely more comfortable and easier than doing it in economy though, forsure.
Hey Jeb! Quick tip for your next 787 flight. If your window is allowing too much heat in, ask for a cover! Its a silicone window cling that the purser has in a compartment near their 1L door!
I did this flight back in 2015 when it was on the A-380. I was assigned the back row aisle seat in economy. It was one of the best flights I have ever had. It felt quicker than my usual flight to LAX.
I remember growing up on the north side of DFW seeing the Qantas’ 747-400. And was there when to watch the first Qantas A380 at DFW. Growing up seeing those planes sparked my passion for aviation and can proudly call myself a pilot.
This is a similar story to mine I live 20 minutes north of DFW and have gone spotting there plenty of times. Now I am in flight training right near my home airport DFW.
Stunning window views Mr Brooks. Agree the shortage of bathrooms is a real issue on the Qantas 787 - especially when everyone wakes up and wants to change. No wifi i suspect is more Qantas penny-pinching - head office more focused on shareholders than customers. Agree the seats are excellent though.
Thanks so much for watching, Dennis! Loved the Qantas crew, but it was clear the company is finding savings wherever they can. Sorry we missed you on this trip, but excited to see you in 2023!!
The seats really do look good, especially at the footwells. Many business class pods have footwells so narrow that I can’t really turn over laying down. The worst I’ve ever experienced was on a flight from LHR to CAI on a BA A321 - I had a ‘throne’ single seat (I think the even number rows were double seats), but in lie-flat mode I had a feeling of panic with the tiny footwell and my body lowered to the floor between 2 solid walls. I think that’s when I decided to be cremated!😂
@@pacmanc8103 it's great to be average height for a woman in these cases. but it sounds awful for the guys taller than 5'7-8 dealing with that. i've never flown business and don't think i ever will with how broke i am, but watching videos like these i know there's an advantage for girls when it's time for a flat seat, to lay/sleep. i hope i have the money one day to travel business- first class like it's nothing, whenever i want. and pay my moms/sisters tickets too. for my dogs/pets as well. it's my dream to be rich, for them especially.
Living in Australia I have flown on the A380 a lot and I can say it is by far the best "ride" in the sky. All that extra mass smooths the bumps out an awful lot! They are also super quiet inside. I have flown the Kangaroo route, also through Doha and Dubai and to Dallas before they swapped it out for the 787.
This was such a timely review. We are flying from LAX to SYD next year. I spent weeks studying reviews for flying via Dallas or LAX, and on a 787 vs the A380. Ultimately I went with the A380 for a few reasons. 1) We are infrequent flyers and do not have the points to upgrade (or the money) so we went with the A380 as it appears the PE product was better. Next, I was struck by your statement you waited an hour in line for the lavatory to change. In numerous reviews, I read complaints about not enough lavatories on the 787 flights. On the A380, there's 60 seats for 2 lavatories, 30 seats per lavatory. Not only that, there's stairs at the back and you can always go down the stairs to the lower deck where there are 2 more lavatories...just in case. Of course, people could come up the stairs but still. On the Qantas 787, there's 194 people (PE + Economy) for 4 lavatories, meaning 48.5 people per lavatory. It's even worse on the AA 787 version, 51 seats per lavatory. So that convinced me to do the A380. Not to mention the A380 was always on my bucket list, having flown the 747 via Air New Zealand years ago.
I hope they don't change the aircraft for you, I booked LAX to SYD specifically for an A380 and a few weeks before the flight they changed it to a 787, this was about 3 weeks ago when I flew
@user-nm2bg8dc8t I'm aware the person said they specifically booked the a380 however, I've just booked a reward seat on the A380 for next year as I want to try a new aircraft type. I'm aware the seats are the same, the 80 is just more spacious I've been told
I love the A380. By far the best plane in the skies and I am so happy that Qantas is bringing some back. I have flown on Qantas A380 from Los Angeles to Sydney and British Airways A380 from Singapore to London,
Jeb you’re easily my favorite travel blogger of any kind. Really appreciate your gratitude and humbleness. I may never be able to afford the travel you do, so it’s nice to live vicariously.
Could you do one of your longest flights series from economy? I fully know it’ll suck more but for the common person most of us fly economy and it would be nice to see that experience
The Jazzguy13 does mostly economy which is what most people fly so we get an idea of what it will be like. I like videos of business class too but it is nice to see economy.
I did this flight in Economy + United to Houston, too. It sucks if the cabin is full, but it usually isn't. Out of a half dozen times I've only had someone next to me once.
@@canyonoverlook9937 not so much any more. hes getting those influencer rates, so hes in all lux stuff these days. should be labeled as sponsored content, maybe the irs wil go after him.
I love Qantas and Air New Zealand and I really wanted you to review them so I am glad you finally reviewed both and enjoyed the experience.I love this new series.Keep up the amazing work as you always do.
A few years ago while working on ships, I was lucky enough to call Sydney my homeport…but I had to get there first. American 737 from Miami to LAX Qantas A380 from LAX to Melbourne Qantas 767 from Melbourne to Sydney Awesome flights all around. Qantas service is amazing. The 767 was also a thrill. First time I’d seen a retrofitted classic with iPads hanging on seat backs to stream movies.
I’ve taken this exact flight on this exact airline in business class. In my opinion it was truly spectacular and I absolutely love Australia probably my favorite vacation destination of all times. I went from my home airport in Indiana to Dallas and then from Dallas to Sydney and then we made the return flight exactly the same. I’ve also gone to Australia by flying from Chicago to Seoul South Korea, and then on to Sydney on Asiana. It was also amazing. 😊 ✈️
Hi Jeb, thanks for a pragmatic review of this route on this aircraft. My wife and I have flown this route twice pre-Covid in Economy on QANTAS' A380 and had a great experience both times. Food was good and I was able to sleep which is hard for me. I think being able to walk across two levels in Economy was a great way to stretch our legs. The IFE was great back then. I agree with you that the flight maps are essential for long-haul travel. Access to the lavatories wasn't an issue either. We have also done the hop from Sydney to London a few times on the QANTAS A380 and had good experiences too. That said, often it is the little things that leave the most lasting impression on a trip, and QANTAS not getting the passenger to lavatories ratio correct on the fleet's most modern places designed for long-haul flight is a concern. if you had an issue accessing one in Business Class, what chance do the rest of us in Economy have!!
The A380 - I was one of the lucky Airbus employees to do the "Early Long Flight" tests before it entered into service. 12 hours , but from Toulouse to Toulouse. I still have the rather wonderful souvenir bag & contents we were given. I've since then flown London to Bangkok and back a few times on one. Always enjoyable, even in the economy seats.
Got to fly on BA A380 this year from DFW to London, and then on the return did the the BA A380 from London to Chicago. We flew in Premium Economy and it was awesome! I was concerned when the pandemic hit and the A380s started to be grounded that we'd never have a chance to fly on one. So I was excited when BA brought them back just in time for our trip to Scotland. I was amazed at how quiet the cabin was and how smooth the ride was!
I flew the A380 on British from Chicago O’Hare to Heathrow. I did it immediately after Covid testing requirements were lifted, for fear of never flying the A380! Fortunately, it seems that a number of airlines will keep them around for some time to come. I sat in economy on the upper deck. Super quiet, smooth ride! I would’ve preferred Emirates or Singapore Air, but the British was the cheapest and most convenient. The next time you are in Dallas, make sure you do some plane spotting at DFW Founders Plaza!
Had the pleasure of doing CPH-DXB on the A380, before they went back to the 777. Was an incredible feeling sitting by the wing, and just feeling the heavy body spending alot of time getting airborne. Very comfortable and spacious cabin!
I flew in an Air France A380 from CDG to IAD in business class. It was awesome to see it looming at the gate, knowing we would board it. We were on the upper level so that was a cool experience. But the AF business class at the time was a bit dated and, honestly, once inside it’s not dramatically different from other jumbo wide bodies. That being said, I am thrilled I was able to fly an A380. Now I still need to tick a 747 off the list before those all go away.
There's just nobody better on travel blog YT than Jeb. Have loved watching his channel grow over the years, and the post COVID travel bonanza for 2022.
Really enjoyed this video. I fly out of IAD regularly. I've been watching your videos for inspiration for when I splurge on a business class seat for my next international flight!
I cannot wait to see you fly this route! Another Ultra Long Haul flight on a QANTAS 787-9 Dreamliner! Woo Hoo! Last time you flew on a QF 787-9 if memory serves correctly it was QF9 from PER-LHR plus this time you’ve got Suzanne with you! I’ve only ever seen Paul Stewart take this route before… I haven’t flown on an Airbus A380 yet… I can’t wait to fly on an A380 on any airline! I want to try QANTAS, EMIRATES, ETIHAD & ANA’s examples of the jet! 🎉 I also can’t wait to fly on the Inaugural Project Sunrise QANTAS FLIGHTS! Maybe we’ll fly on it together someday! 🤞 Also QANTAS having NO WIFI especially even for a cost is very poor! 😂
I watch a ton of Noel Phillips videos to help with my flight anxiety. One of your videos popped up (Delta Hubs) and your personality convinced me to subscribe and watch. Keep it up.
3:55, Yes I have been on an A380, when I was 8 years old back in June 2017 when I was going to the UK to see family, I believe the airline I flew with on the A380 was Thai Airways since we made a stopover in Bangkok, Thailand from our starting point in Melbourne, Australia where I live to swap planes so we could continue onwards to London, and we were on an A380. What made it more special, we were in the TOP deck of the aircraft! I remember climbing up those stairs to the top deck, and as soon as we started taxiing, I automatically go onto the screen on the seat in front of me, and I watched Shrek, and as soon as the song heard at the start of the film 'All Star' ended, the plane was already airborne, and I knew this was the start of an amazing memorable childhood memory, flying on my favourite Commercial airliner aircraft, and in the top deck of it!
I've made several flights on the A380 in the last ten years and I can heartily recommend it as an airframe to aim for when looking at flights. I've flown it from Melbourne to LA (and vice-versa), and I feel certain I've flown it at least once between Melbourne and San Francisco... Because I don't have a lot of money to spend, I fly economy. I typically choose seats at the butt-end of the plane, thinking that people tend to prefer *not* to sit there for a whole mess of reasons. My experience on the A380, however, is a little different, and my favourite economy seats are actually on the UPPER deck. The last row in the centre is usually a 2-3-2 config (from memory) but the port-side end of the 3-seats is closed off by a bulkhead. 3 out of 5 trips I've had that row ALL TO MYSELF, which makes it a DIY SkyCouch! I find the WC to be a little more roomy and because you're so close to the galley - and because the upstairs flight attendants have fewer charges to look out for - food tends to be warmer and so does the service! (I don't know - it may also have a little to do with the Caramello Koalas I always share with the flight attendants!)
I have done this flight on a 747 when the route began out of Brisbane first, then a 380 out the DFW and SYD and most recently 787. Enjoyed the 380 the most.
I flew the same route on the A380 in business class in 2018. You even walked the same way to the lounge and to the plane, it brought back great memories. Their business class seats and food are just great, and had a good night sleep too, of course.
Pre pandemic, we flew Quantas from Dallas on an A 380 and back home on their 747, all business class. These planes are great for this very long flight.
With both Qantas and Air NZ now routing their New York services through Auckland I would be really interested in seeing a comparison of SYD/MEL JFK compared to the old route using the horror connection at LAX.
Did this route on the last A380 on this route in March 2020 flying back to Toronto before both Australia and Canada closed for good in face of pandemic. Miss this route and A380 on it. Also, Qantas restarted their MEL - DFW using Dreamliner, making it 2nd longest in their map, behind Perth to London. Can’t wait to be back down under and fly Sydney to New York via Auckland when the services begins next year.
I travelled from Manchester UK to Brisbane and back via Dubai in an Emirates A380 business class in 2020 just as COVID was kicking off. I had to return a week early missing out on New Zealand so I aheading back there early next year with KLM and Malaysia Air on the way out and Qantas and Air France on the way back. It means I get to travel with four new airlines. My favourite so far is Virgin Atlantic because the cabin crew are so friendly and helpful and the food is fabulous. Flown with them 3 times, all business class, so far and planning another flight in their A300-neo later next year. Keep the videos coming both of you, I love them.
I flew to and from Perth from London in the space of two weeks in Qantas economy last month, luckily I paid for the exit aisle which made it muchhhhh easier for someone like me. Not having wifi was tough but nice in a way to disconnect. If you're going to get the exit aisle I'd recommend the window seat, I was in the middle on the way there and window on the way back and since you're sat in front of the toilets you have people walking around by your feet so being by the window basically eliminates that.
I took this flight but the reverse way-Dallas to Sydney. And yes,,it’s a loooooong flight. It was my first time flying with Qantas and I was really, really impressed. Great, friendly service. In fact, I am a musician and band leader and I was taking my cruise ship band to go start a cruise ship contract in the South Pacific sea. Prior to Dallas we had flown from our home in London Canada, to Toronto, and then to Dallas where we had a seven-hour layover. By the time we boarded the last flight, we were legless with exhaustion, having been travelling for 18 hours or so-with a 19 hour flight ahead of us, still. Once on board and settled, I noticed an empty row of seats. I asked the flight attendant if I could move to it and stretch out. After explaining our travel day, she was kind enough to say yes. She said ‘I’m supposed to charge you $250 for that, but you have already had quite a day!’ and gave it to me for free. After taking two Valium (and a Jack and Coke) I stretched across the three seats, made a bed of pillows and blankets, and slept for 7 solid hours. And upon waking, I shared the seat with my band mates in rotation, who were all stuck in crowded economy seats. Add the free bar and great food service to this, and it was a much smoother flight than it could have been. Thanks, Qantas! p.s. It was also the first time I ate a Tim Tam…and now I’m addicted.
Great video as always, and a huge personal thank you for the little shout out showing the image of the Wikipedia article of the longest flights, as I am one of the main editors there!
I have been on an A380 once between London and Dubai. I was happy to be booked on one from LA to Auckland on Quantas, but then they canceled that flight. I was, however, able to do this route later in our trip as we returned to the states back in 2012. With the amount of entertainment available, I really didn't mind that long trip. I would do it again.
It’s too bad you have to put a disclaimer about being a critic of certain parts of the flight/service, it’s obvious you and Suzanne are passionate aviation enthusiasts and appreciate the miracle of flying on every trip. Keep the great videos coming Jeb!
A few months before COVID, I flew a Qantas A380 from Dallas to Sydney. Flying from Dallas to Sydney on the Airbus A380 was a remarkable experience. The engines were so big it was almost comical. Throughout the journey, the spacious cabin and attentive crew made it comfortable and enjoyable. The wide array of entertainment options kept me engaged during the long flight, Qantas is a great airline. I still have a picture of the A380 stairs on my phone, an experience I'll never forget!
Really great review, thank you both so much. Really like your style and how you show so much. Sadly l can’t afford Business Class but it was sure nice to see what it’s like and dream about it. Can’t wait to get back aboard Qantas and fly back to the beautiful USA! Will check out your other videos.
I've flown on the A380 on Qantas between LAX and SYD. It is a GREAT plane, a smooth quiet ride, and I love the forward-facing camera (too bad it's dark most of the flight). The biggest thing that struck me was how slow it seems to go when taking off and landing. (It's not, it just feels that way...) Would fly again!
wow what a fun experence. It;s so cool the 787s can fly that far. I enjoyed the video. I am thinking about one day visiting sydney. I also read that you need a vasa aong with a passport to visit austrillia is that true
I live in Dallas. I've never flown on an A380, but I'm sure it's a great experience. However, the post-Covid B787 change (from A380) by Qantas for SYD-DFW-SYD is probably a much better fit for the traffic. It's worth mentioning that Qantas now also has a MEL-DFW-MEL non-stop ... again using a Dreamliner. Neither of these flights are daily, but I think they will slowly pick up traffic.
It’ll be back, I bet that. Dfw gets Qantas flights to both Sydney and Melbourne and Brisbane is next. Dallas to Australia is a very busy route, so they’ll definitely bring the A380 back
Great video, Jeb. On my first trip to Sydney, I was on a Virgin Australia flight on a 777 - it was amazing in all respects in PE. The second trip was on Delta in First Class on a 777 - the lie-flat seat made a big difference. It was also amazing, especially the lead Captain who came back and talked with some of us. He had even done a very funny talk outside the gate before we started boarding. You're right - it's hard to find things to do on a 14-15 hour flight!!! I can't wait to go back and take my wife!
I've done this flight numerous times - both with the 787 service and with the A380 and back in the day when they first launched the SYD-DFW with a 747-400. I'll agree with most of your review. They should be another lavatory on the 787 Business Class. Of all the planes that Qanats has used on this route, I preferred the A380.
Good (Sunday) morning from New Zealand Jeb and Suzanne😊 I have been lucky enough to fly on the mighty A380 on 3 occasions, with 3 different airlines, though only in economy class, but still a pleasant experience each time. I flew Singapore airlines non stop Changi to London Heathrow, Qantas on the Kangaroo route you alluded to, though in reverse, London Singapore Sydney, though I had hoped to fly on the Dreamliner from London to Perth, but that flight was heavily delayed, meaning I'd miss a connection in Perth, so I was rebooked onto the Kangaroo route flight. The final time I flew on the A380, was with Emirates airlines, on possibly the shortest flight that aircraft operates, from Christchurch New Zealand to Sydney, barely 3 hours in the air. Those journeys were all pre covid, in 2018 and 2019...
Great vlog as always! When BA got their 747-400s they did LHR-SYD v.v. The flight time was about 18-20h and the pax was limited to about 200. It only lasted for one or two seasons. I want to fly the Donald Duck plane. The Dreamliner is still on my to do list. The A350 also. Keep up the good work. Be safe! I do not like lounges. It is more pax in them than in the terminal. Also the food has been luke warm/cold for hours. Then I buy my own food and find a quiet corner in the terminal. Thats me.
In 2018 my wife and I traveled to Rome via Frankfurt and flew the A380 from IAH to FRA (roundtrip) on Lufthansa. We were fortunate enough to grab seats in the upper deck economy section for both flights which has only 5 rows in a 2-4-2 configuration. There was even a flight attendant assigned to our little area which made the experience feel more premium. Years ago your flight from SYD to DFW was serviced by an A380. We used to stay at a resort/water park next to DFW, and we saw both the Quantas and Emirates A380's up close on their final approaches.
That’s crazy I literally saw your plane I flew in to DFW and saw the quantas land and was like that is a crazy cool paint job and a couple gates down was the beautiful British airways A380
Jeb, hard to tell on my phone but that UPS 748 in Sydney looked to be N633UP. That was the 5th to last 747 and UPS’ last new 74 delivered early this year.
Hi Susan and Jeb, glad I caught up with this review, because it is a true representation of what lucky people will experience post Covid on their way to the US in J . So thanks, but as you hinted, a similar flight on an A 380 on the upper deck to DFW to meet my young master in Memphis is just the best. You both please keep them coming, until my own flight out of Aus.
I miss seeing the A380s flying over my neighborhood north of Dallas-Fort Worth airport when Qantas used them on the SYD-DFW route pre-pandemic. I'd usually see these 380s between noon and 2pm Central time on their approach to DFW. The only solace is that we get to see a BA A380 around 4-6ish pm on their LHR-DFW (a route which used to see the 747).
Another great video, I would have picked the beef and fried chicken too, we're Southerners after all, lol... Frequent watchers know gin and tonic is your signature drink. I was surprised there was a line to access the bathroom to change in pj's. On Instragram, I was teasing you how white your hair appeared in the pic at the Sydney Opera House.
we flew from LAX to Melbourne and back on an A380 (Qantas)in 2018, it was great. have also done trips to Dubai on A380(Emirates) from NYC. can't beat that airplane for comfort even in economy. Hope you get to fly on one soon.
Sorry about Sydney Airport, there have been horror stories there for months. I'm hoping Brisbane is comparatively smoother come the end of March, when I finally get to go back to Japan after a three-and-a-half-year (mostly enforced) absence. I'm really hoping that the 787 is chosen by Qantas over the A330 Neo to replace the existing A330s - while the A330 was the first Qantas type to have the business suite that's now also aboard the A380 and 787, the Dreamliner has that great humidity control system which makes the flight more comfortable and less tiring. I flew to Narita from Gold Coast on a JetStar 787 in 2014 (in "Business Class", which is equivalent to Premium Economy on Qantas) and Business Class on Qantas from Brisbane to Narita in 2019, and I felt more refreshed flying the 787 despite being in the lower-class seat. I don't know enough about the 330 NEO or whether Airbus has anything like this in their newer aircraft, but on personal experience and all other things remaining the same, I'm more in favour of the 787. Though like you, I'm not a fan of the LED window shades - great for filtering light, but they just don't offer the same amount of shielding from the heat as a physical shade. QF have never shown any inkling of offering wifi on international flights, and given their current financial position, I don't expect them to any time soon. I'm okay with that, because I can deal with 8-9 hours offline. The absence of the legendary Schnitzel sandwich as a snack (it was missing on my last trip too) is disappointing. Though I am very curious about that fried chicken now. Hopefully it will be an option on QF61 to Tokyo.
Jeb, I thought I was the only one obsessed with flying commercially! I loved it as a kid and that feeling never went away. My family was laughing at me because I flew my wife and kids into an airport that was further away than necessary because it was an airport I hadn’t been to, ha ha. I wish I could do what you do for a living! I just flew key lime, air, a nine seat turbo prop out of Cortez, Colorado, very fun!
June 2017 I flew LAX to SYD, then SYD to DFW - both were A380’s then. I too flew the upper deck business class. My best flights ever - also most expensive.
We did the 16 hours from Dallas back to Sydney (Australia is home) back in October in economy. It was fine. Slept a fair bit of the way and watched movies. It was good to be home after an enjoyable few weeks in your neck of the woods.
Love this channel. Longest flight for me was LAX-SIN on the SQ A359-ULR in premium economy, 2019. Almost 17 hours. Flew the QF A380 LAX-SYD in economy in 2009. Back from BRE on the 744. Lucked out with empty seats next to me on both flights.
15 hours in a Business class is more or less easy. Sleeping 6 or 7 hours while lying is luxury. 15 hours or longer in the economy class is horror.
Depends. I did 14 hours on Qatar economy, didn’t have much fuss.
Try United or Delta economy. Paper thin seats

That’s my kind of research! A380 for the win! 🏆
I hope they don't change the aircraft for you, I booked LAX to SYD specifically for an A380 and a few weeks before the flight they changed it to a 787, this was about 3 weeks ago when I flew
@@jokerface20 both the A380 and the B789 have Premium economy
@user-nm2bg8dc8t I'm aware the person said they specifically booked the a380 however, I've just booked a reward seat on the A380 for next year as I want to try a new aircraft type. I'm aware the seats are the same, the 80 is just more spacious I've been told
I think the A380 option is the better one!!
I love the A380. By far the best plane in the skies and I am so happy that Qantas is bringing some back. I have flown on Qantas A380 from Los Angeles to Sydney and British Airways A380 from Singapore to London,
yes i have flown on the a380 last year from london to san francisco and i can say it was one of my best experiences in the sky with the 747
Jeb you’re easily my favorite travel blogger of any kind.
It's to scary to watch. LOL!
I love Qantas and Air New Zealand and I really wanted you to review them so I am glad you finally reviewed both and enjoyed the experience.I love this new series.Keep up the amazing work as you always do.
I think think it’s nice that you acknowledge how fortunate you are to do what you’re able to do…most of us would love that job
A few years ago while working on ships, I was lucky enough to call Sydney my homeport…but I had to get there first.
American 737 from Miami to LAX
Qantas A380 from LAX to Melbourne
Qantas 767 from Melbourne to Sydney
Awesome flights all around.
You must be rich.😅
Is only connecting
I also went out of my way to fly the BA A380 from ORD to LHR on the upper deck economy section last month!
SAME
I Flew on a A380 back in May. LAX to Dubai. What a phenomenal plane. Emirates airlines is truly special and an experience that I will never forget.
Had the pleasure of doing CPH-DXB on the A380, before they went back to the 777. Was an incredible feeling sitting by the wing, and just feeling the heavy body spending alot of time getting airborne. Very comfortable and spacious cabin!
Gotta say, the windows at night makes everything look purple and pink which is awesome in my eyes.
Thank you Jeb for yet more wholesome content, can’t wait for next weeks video 😊
I think i actually saw Jeb’s plane upon approach in Dallas! Keep up the good work jeb!
Great job Jeb! An international long haul on the 787 is on my bucket list.
Really enjoyed this video. I fly out of IAD regularly. I've been watching your videos for inspiration for when I splurge on a business class seat for my next international flight!
The First Class lounge is one of the best in the world, with a spa, restaurant… fabulous.
Great video Jeb!! I love winding down a long day with a travel video by you.
I’ve only ever seen Paul Stewart take this route before…
I haven’t flown on an Airbus A380 yet… I can’t wait to fly on an A380 on any airline! I want to try QANTAS, EMIRATES, ETIHAD & ANA’s examples of the jet! 🎉 I also can’t wait to fly on the Inaugural Project Sunrise QANTAS FLIGHTS! Maybe we’ll fly on it together someday! 🤞
Also QANTAS having NO WIFI especially even for a cost is very poor! 😂
Another great video, and not far away from 500k subs now! Well deserved :)
I’m a proud Texan seeing you flying from/to DFW again! And you should try the American Airlines route from Auckland to Texas!
Thanks for the video Jeb and Susan. Flew in A380 between Frankfurt and Houston. Best flights ever! So quite!!
As a regular steerage passenger, any 'pointy end of the aircraft' seems luxurious to me! LOL! Thank you for the video!
Would be nice if someone could review coach on such long haul flights. Want to know if it's truly doable.
It is. Just feels horrible for the 15 hours in the air and then 24 after you land.
Pleb class on that leg is murder.
Love Susan's happiness with her pj's
Did this route on the last A380 on this route in March 2020 flying back to Toronto before both Australia and Canada closed for good in face of pandemic. Miss this route and A380 on it. Also, Qantas restarted their MEL - DFW using Dreamliner, making it 2nd longest in their map, behind Perth to London. Can’t wait to be back down under and fly Sydney to New York via Auckland when the services begins next year.
Already flew a Lufthansa A380 in Business Class from JFK to MUC and an Etihad A380 from AUH to LHR.
So quiet and Majestic. Really love it 😍
I travelled from Manchester UK to Brisbane and back via Dubai in an Emirates A380 business class in 2020 just as COVID was kicking off.
Love Tim Tams!
That Business Class seat looks great! Definitely a luxury to spend 15 hours on it!
I really look forward to seeing your videos. Thanks to you and Suzanne!
Nice, informative video Jeb. I love Suzanne's subtle dig at the size of your wine glass !!!
Really great review, thank you both so much. Really like your style and how you show so much. Sadly l can’t afford Business Class but it was sure nice to see what it’s like and dream about it. Can’t wait to get back aboard Qantas and fly back to the beautiful USA! Will check out your other videos.
That's I beautiful sight out of the window early in the morning ☕
Never
I miss having the 380 on this route. I did DFW-SYD back in 2017.
Travelled on the A380 6 times. 2 with Emirates and 4 with Qantas. All amazing. You can never go wrong with a flight on the A380
Good (Sunday) morning from New Zealand Jeb and Suzanne😊 I have been lucky enough to fly on the mighty A380 on 3 occasions, with 3 different airlines, though only in economy class, but still a pleasant experience each time.
Good review! Business for sure. I can't imagine being in torture in coach for that long.
Thats me.
Hi Jeb and Susan, I'm a follower of yours, from Italy. Your travel stories are amazing!!
Hi Jeb! Great Video As Always. I am flying an Airbus 380 from JFK To MXP With Emirates. Keep up the great work with your amazing videos!
My new routine is watching one of these every night 😂
Thank you!
@@GreenerGrassyour welcome!
Ive flown the a380 Emirates Christchurch to Sydney! So cool amazing plane to fly on even though it was a short 3hr flight it was still great
Lol the Baz Lerman Elvis movie is the best possible use of lock screen advertising. Very America/Australia
I thought when I did lax-syd it was like 14 hrs to there and 12 back. Does this sound right?
That’s crazy I literally saw your plane I flew in to DFW and saw the quantas land and was like that is a crazy cool paint job and a couple gates down was the beautiful British airways A380
One of my Favourite Flightroute was the Air New Zealand Flight from Auckland to LHR with a stop in LAX
Thankyou for doing a Qantas video I really appreciate you repping aus
I love this channel. I plan on retirement in about 5 years. I am hoping to travel some. God willing I will get to fly on some special airlines
Love your reviews Jeb,always very factual without the gush of some others.
Jeb, hard to tell on my phone but that UPS 748 in Sydney looked to be N633UP. That was the 5th to last 747 and UPS’ last new 74 delivered early this year.
Like this video, it's fast/easy going. And all inclusive.
Yep, flew on QF1 A380 SYD-LHR but not the traditional route, in 2014 we stopped in at Dubai. Loved it.
Like the Tudor watch. I think thats one they released this year? Great video. You clearly like watches!
Qantas used a 747-400ER before their a380 took its place.
Singapore to JFK is the longest direct which I’ve travelled on , and also aLondon to Perth
The A380 is my favourite plane and have taken it 3 times- return flights pre covid from syd-dfw and then 2023 from syd-lax. So smooth
You put up really great videos very detailed keep up the good work
Jeb, I thought I was the only one obsessed with flying commercially! I loved it as a kid and that feeling never went away. My family was laughing at me because I flew my wife and kids into an airport that was further away than necessary because it was an airport I hadn’t been to, ha ha. I wish I could do what you do for a living! I just flew key lime, air, a nine seat turbo prop out of Cortez, Colorado, very fun!
great job jeb! keep up the good work :D😊
Ive flown Qantas A380's between Melbourne and LA return and one Sydney LA...all Pr e mium Economy...fantastic flights....love your channel...
Excellent trip report Jeb!😸
