I flew premium economy via Singapore to Sydney and back from Perth and was so impressed. Worth every penny I paid. Had a really lovely seat neighbour on way to Singapore, we spent a large part of the flight laughing and watching movies. Slept so well on all the international flights. If available, I’d always fly Qantas!
My father tells the story of being on Qantas in the 1980s. It was a massive 747, and he was the only one in the steward's section. Every 45 minutes, the steward kept offering my father a beer. He became rather insistent. "Sir, are you SURE that I can't offer you a beer?" Not wanting to put up with it every 45 minutes all the way across the Pacific, he caved. The steward gave my father a beer, then sat down next to him to have a beer, himself. Apparently, it was Qantas policy that you're not allowed to drink on the job, but you're also not allowed to let a customer drink alone. The steward REALLY wanted a beer.

Great comparisons. You really should have included the cost of each leg of travel and comment on whether the difference in price is worth the price difference.
I’m glad he doesn’t show the price because at the moment they can fluctuate madly within hours. I booked two premium economy seats for Melbourne Australia to LAX return a couple of months ago with QANTAS, while I usually fly business I couldn’t justify the costs of the ticket for a 14 year old. Today I was able to upgrade for both of us to business for AUD$1200 each in addition to the original booked seats. Outcome thousands less than it was when originally booked. No one really needs to shower on an airline but we all want a decent meal and a comfortable seat. Truly outstanding travel vlog - thanks for all the work taken to film, edit, and post. #ThePointsGuy
Nice! though the 1st class looks like SQ business class...these days the competition on the LHR - SYD route is strong - you've got Emirates, Qatar, Singapore Airlines, Etihad? - all of them offering a superior first class and business class product. More space, more privacy - which is the key really. If I was going to Austraila, it would be Singapore Business Class all the way - an amazing hard and soft product.
As an Aussie I am so happy to FINALLY have one of these videos on Qantas. Also I’m happy you had a great experience. Qantas gets absolutely battered for their onboard experience so I’m glad to see some good reviews of it (I find they also have a good onboard product). I can’t wait to be flying with them to London next year on the a380 in premium economy. It looks excellent!
They get battered? That surprises me, flown with them a number of times and I honestly couldn't fault them, some of the best meals I've ever had in economy!
Just returned from the QF1/2 on Premium Economy. His review is on point. I have noticed the quality of the meal has dropped over the years. Its still good, but just dipped. Otherwise, Qantas PE is a nice comfortable way to travel. Edit: worth noting... for my London-Singapore leg, is was in the bulkhead seat, row 31, and the entire rows screens had no audio. The row rehind row 32, was empty, so after takeoff i popped back a row. The row was empty because those screens were broken. So i read & slept my way to Singapore. I asked about changing my Singapore to Sydney seat. I was given an apology, and comp'd some FF points, and moved to 32F (same seat Liam had). On that flight all six defective seats were sold to unlucky customers. I was disappointed to see Qantas knowingly selling those tickets.
Well done on showing the full product on the ground as well as in the air. So many UA-cam reviewers will ‘review’ an economy seat and spend most of the video in their first class lounge pre flight 😁 thanks!
I was so excited for this one, and I’m a fan of Qantas even these days with all their recent controversies. But! This video just came across as one gigantic Qantas ad. My guy even gave big ups to the economy headset (next shot he’s wearing his own) Guy was allowed on board before anyone else, crew were ready for call bell, it was all just a bit rigged. Don’t get me wrong, I like Qantas and I like this channel, but this was nonsense.
Great review mr, cheered me up ! Love the 4 class comparison, and a great product. I have flown Qantas to Bangkok ages ago (and trw in 1997) and already then rated them very high. It would be more interesting with 2 or 4 colleagues on the same flight, but , this is a ghgo review. The food in PE was as you said business class level.
I saw u in the plane 😂😂😂 because my dad was the pilot 😂 and because u flew it once takeoff I get to sit on the cockpit floor and watch from the cockpit if your plane has a bitter day thanks to me❤ Thanks for flying quantas fly again
There is a trick with the pillows in PE. There is an opening on the back of the pillowcase that is the length of the pillow. You can slip the back of the pillow case over the wings on the headrest. This way, your pillow won’t move or fall down. Also, for the aisle seats, the outer wall can drop down, so you can turn & put your feet into the aisle. Makes it easier to get up & down out of the seat… reduces the need to ‘pull’ on the seat in front of you for leverage.
To all those criticising the Economy review for being unrealistic… Qantas is the only airline that has ever brought me business class amenities and business class food back to economy as a regular passenger just for being nice to the FAs. Qantas service can go a long way with the right crew. Plus with surely he would have Oneworld status to get on board first with the first class passengers
Premium economy looks great I really appreciate your video as you actually show the functions and seating which is really the reason most people pick it. I'll be travelling on a long flight with my kids so couldn't afford premium or business but if I could business and first class looks amazing and my god the comfort with kids would be amazing.
SO EPIC! Cannot wait to see the review! After watching my only thoughts! WOW 🤩 JUST WOW 🤩 Talk about an INCREDIBLE and INDULGENT EXPERIENCE that’s for sure! Cannot wait to try QANTAS and their A380 hopefully someday from LAX-SYD maybe in Premium Economy as that’s all I could ever afford! 😂😂
You missed the best part of Sydney Flounge - Nestor at the entrance! Being based in QLD, hadn’t flown ex Syd Int for 3 years wth Covid shutdowns, and he still remembered me my first flight back could months ago.
Glad to see Qantas provide an excellent service to you Nicky. Everything they use is environmental friendly. One thing I like from Qantas whether I am in which class is the sense of Home. The cabin crew treat the passenger like part of the family. Especially, the cabin announcement. Nicky if you wanna try something else from Qantas, try out their Domestic flight. It might be a little different but the service are the same.
@@AnneMB955 yeah my experience and many other Aussies. Qantas has been on a downward spiral for a while now. It was really bad for a while over Covid. Had my flights cancelled and they did not even refund me until this year (tried giving me flight credit refunds of the amount I paid but flight prices have risen since so if I was to book the same flight I would have to pay the flight credit refund plus nearly double in actual money).
For the first time in ages, I've actually thought maybe QF long haul could be ok. I've never really had a great experience with them in the past. But glad you have great flights.
I recently flew from London and saw the Quantas A380 next to our BA’s A320, and was literally mesmerised by this beautiful giant. I hope I get to fly in an A380 soon. 😊❤
It’s funny, I’m from New Zealand and you know that our airline is competing with these guys all the dang time, however I really like QF and they have the edge! And I’ve always found the premium economy food amazing! Always have a look at the website after booking as there is usually an exclusive meal you can pre order 😊
@@Tmc3580let’s be honest, all airlines in Australia are unreliable. I’ve had more experiences with Virgin cancelling or delaying flights than any other airline in the last few years.
I've flown premium economy many times over the years Qantas is one of the better offers out there, up there with Singapore and Emirates and the seats are definitely improving. For someone with back issues and my 6 foot partner it's great to have the extra seat and leg room without spending the big money on business.
Nice A380 review. To get the real Qantas economy experience that the masses have to endure you can do 10 hours Sydney-Tokyo in a cramped ageing A330 with no legroom and a bulky inflight entertainment screen that is 10cm (4 in) from your face when the person in front reclines which they always do. Give me JAL or ANA any time!
When you were talking to your homies from Yorkshire your accent changed mate! I lived in Australia for 11 years and flew QF often domestically and quite a few times internationally, including Business class to Vancouver and back and LAX economy. The domestic flights were always great service. On the North American flights the cabin crew were often in their 50s and you could tell they were over it.
He was smart: did economy and premium economy on the shorter legs, and business and first on the longer legs. That mixed it up in the video as he presented by class rather than leg.
Maybe its just me but I will go out of my way to fly Qantas. I literally just got off my return flight from HKG-MEL (Business) and yes it had a 3hr delay on they way up and a 2hr delay on the way back but the service was impeccable and the seat was super comfy and just overall was a great experience and flight.
Impressive. The last BA Club Class flight I took (Tampa to LHR) would have been put to shame by Qantas Economy. BA's recent announcement that it is aiming to regain its (distant) title as the World's Favourite Airline means it has a mountain to climb, and then some. Hard to believe that any carrier could now better Qantas.
"Hard to believe that any carrier could now better Qantas." Have you been living under a rock? Qantas pales in comparison to ME3, SQ, CX, Asiana, Japan Airlines and many more
Flew from London premium economy with Qantas and the couple in front got on in Singapore. They were British and flew BA to Singapore and were shocked at the difference in premium economy on Qantas, they said they wouldn’t fly BA again.Asked us if it was a one off and we assured them we had done it six times always the same experience.
Great you did all 4 classes as that hits everyone interest, I usually fly economy with Qantas for work and tick near all the boxes. First class seat needs a screen/ door like Emirates etc etc as that would make it in top 3 I think 🤔
The reason that there is no wifi on international Qantas flights is because they are currently working towards being able to provide free wifi for all passengers on those international flights (just like a large chunk of their domestic flights). Hope this answered that! 10:34
Very nice to see the recline moves the seat squab forward so it doesn't intrude too much on the person behind. I've seen a nasty trend in recent years for premium economy seats to recline more and more, to the point where it's genuine intrusive for the person behind and can even make getting in and our of their seat problematic. This moving squab system should be the standard.
I am travelling First Class every time I fly.....ohhh OMG I just woke up... I am truly looking to go to London and looking at every clip and every hint I can find...It will be a bucket list trip for my wife and I and maybe only a one off...The problem for us is that we live on an island and that means we have to travel to Australia...another set of flight costs, Hotel costs there and back. Then pay for the rest of the trip to London and back. Do they have room in Baggage? Cheers mate for your vidoes.
That was great. I’ve only ever flown in economy Sydney to LA return & Sydney Dallas return. I’m flying to LA again on the A 380 in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait, even though it’s economy
Flew London to Singapore in 1996 on a 744 in economy then on the Brisbane with flight number QF52. 747-200. The service was amazing then with real porcelain main course dish, metal cutlery, menu cards, Australian crew that were so down to Earth and friendly. The seats were also a lot more comfortable in economy back then. Still have the menu cards after all these years. There was no individual TV screens but the crew handed out playing cards and games and there was a movie shown on the main screen., for anyone interested. The crew came round every hour with drinks and you could ask for Tim Tams, biscuits and alcoholic drinks without judgement. What an airline Qantas used to be. Today I dread to think.

That looks great! Thanks a billion for sharing! I will take a flight next month to SYD🇦🇺 :)
Nice! though the 1st class looks like SQ business class...these days the competition on the LHR - SYD route is strong - you've got Emirates, Qatar, Singapore Airlines, Etihad? - all of them offering a superior first class and business class product. More space, more privacy - which is the key really. If I was going to Austraila, it would be Singapore Business Class all the way - an amazing hard and soft product.
Ohh.. finally got to see the real point guys ...😊
Let's go🎉
As an Aussie I am so happy to FINALLY have one of these videos on Qantas.
@@ryanwilliamson9578you haven't experienced much then or need to tru other airlines as well to see your money is not worth it with them.
Fly 10 hours Australia to Japan in a cramped A330 instead of an A380 to see a crud Qantas onboard product.
Anyone who batters Qantas is just a serial naysayer. Been travelling with them since the 60s. Nothing but comfort and professionalism.
Well done on showing the full product on the ground as well as in the air. So many UA-cam reviewers will ‘review’ an economy seat and spend most of the video in their first class lounge pre flight 😁 thanks!
Getting decent coffee in Australia is an understatement.
We have great coffee🎉
The thumbnail shows him having a blast in economy and premium, while he seems so formal in business and first 😆
as an aussie i have been waiting for you to fly out of sydney with Qantas (the best airline ever)
I was so excited for this one, and I’m a fan of Qantas even these days with all their recent controversies. But! This video just came across as one gigantic Qantas ad.
My guy even gave big ups to the economy headset (next shot he’s wearing his own)
Guy was allowed on board before anyone else, crew were ready for call bell, it was all just a bit rigged.
I saw u in the plane 😂😂😂 because my dad was the pilot 😂 and because u flew it once takeoff I get to sit on the cockpit floor and watch from the cockpit if your plane has a bitter day thanks to me❤
Thanks for flying quantas fly again
There is a trick with the pillows in PE. There is an opening on the back of the pillowcase that is the length of the pillow. You can slip the back of the pillow case over the wings on the headrest. This way, your pillow won’t move or fall down. Also, for the aisle seats, the outer wall can drop down, so you can turn & put your feet into the aisle. Makes it easier to get up & down out of the seat… reduces the need to ‘pull’ on the seat in front of you for leverage.
Your video presentation style is spot on + the video editing makes watching a joy. Well done.
Really love this short comparison, please do more like this!
That was amazing! I live vicariously through y'all! 👍🏻🫶🏻
Tell you what, I bet Liam is cursing the fact he didn't get that gig! I was impressed, particularly with the Yorkshire cabin crew!
they were fab!
That’s the wonderful thing about flying Qantas, the familiarity of home. 🇬🇧 🇦🇺
Very informative flight review, well produced and presented.
Premium economy looks great I really appreciate your video as you actually show the functions and seating which is really the reason most people pick it. I'll be travelling on a long flight with my kids so couldn't afford premium or business but if I could business and first class looks amazing and my god the comfort with kids would be amazing.
This video was very entertaining. Quality content, never considered flying Qantas till now !
Qantas get a lot of criticism but I think they do a great job always had a pleasant experience with Qantas
Glad you are flying the flag carrier of Australia
That's if they don't cancel the flight or lose your baggage mate.
Not necessarily, as the domestic flights are operated by other regional airlines under QF branding.
@@mattybaby1116When does that happen? Just your experience?
@@AnneMB955 yeah my experience and many other Aussies. Qantas has been on a downward spiral for a while now. It was really bad for a while over Covid. Had my flights cancelled and they did not even refund me until this year (tried giving me flight credit refunds of the amount I paid but flight prices have risen since so if I was to book the same flight I would have to pay the flight credit refund plus nearly double in actual money).
I loved it when he squished the bread in economy class and the squeaky sound came out 🤣
I’ve been waiting for this for ages! Let’s gooo
BA narrow bodies fry from terminal 5A. 5B 5C are for wide bodies. How was the Quantas next to your A320?
Just curious
@@charlesjay8818 I think it was T3 and I was flying to Sofia or Bucharest. The A320 was tiny as compared to the A380. I was mesmerised 😍.
It's QANTAS not Quanta's, seriously 😒
@@JBLegal09 Is that all you noted ? Hold your horses… It’s a typo !
It’s funny, I’m from New Zealand and you know that our airline is competing with these guys all the dang time, however I really like QF and they have the edge! And I’ve always found the premium economy food amazing! Always have a look at the website after booking as there is usually an exclusive meal you can pre order 😊
They are on the edge of the edge of being the most unreliable, untrustworthy airline in Australia.
@@Tmc3580let’s be honest, all airlines in Australia are unreliable. I’ve had more experiences with Virgin cancelling or delaying flights than any other airline in the last few years.
Air NZ are excellent, i used premium economy and was very impressed. I would choose them over Qantas any day.
@@Arrwmkr Wish Air NZ would do domestic Routes in Australia.
Love the Air New Zealand ads. Will get there one day, for the 3rd time. 👋🏻
One of the best airlines in the world right now
Definitely would have done the economy on a shorter leg....
He was smart: did economy and premium economy on the shorter legs, and business and first on the longer legs. That mixed it up in the video as he presented by class rather than leg.
Oooh zero carb doc. How do you manage food on flights? I am zero carbs too.
The fact that you had a row to your self in economy. Count your self lucky
I will too, but there seems to be this thing, where hating on Qantas is all the rage.
Yeah and it's quite sad 😢
@@JustinWatson23When I hear naysayers, I’ll ask them when they flew last. No-one so far.
Premium economy SYD-DFW coming up..looking forward to it! Thanks for sharing! And especially being able to get up to the snack bar!
I can’t stop watching it
I love flying home to Australia. When we fly into Aus airspace it’s the best place in the world 💚💛🇦🇺
So understand your thought processes. Hearing an Aussie accent as we head home is so comforting.
I love the business class on qantas A380 I took business class to Moscow and it was great but think that business class is better
I wonder who decides the ranking. Those who are the most easily influenced with handouts? 😉
When will it happen ?..
@@simonf8902 They're hoping by the time the Project sunrise flights start commercial service, or a bit after that.
He is getting all the benefit for free to promote the Arline !

I've never had to wait any longer!
Thank you sir, last time I travelled on Quaint toss as many called it back then was in 1998. Looks like they have improved a lot.
Brilliant watch as always 🙌
Qantas has the best boarding music of any airline
This makes me want to fly Qantas 👌🏻
I am travelling First Class every time I fly.....ohhh OMG I just woke up... I must have been dreaming...Now heading back to Economy....oh wait I can't even afford that. 🤣🤣Thank you for sharing this video.
Save up, it’s well worth it. ✈️
Love how he adopts a northern accent when talking to northerners...
Excellent video, thanks for sharing.
I really loved this video. Great to see all the classes. Just subscribed to your channel. You are absolutely fabulous
Awesome video, more soon, please 😊
That was great. I’ve only ever flown in economy Sydney to LA return & Sydney Dallas return. I’m flying to LA again on the A 380 in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait, even though it’s economy
YAY Nicky!! Love Mr. Pro-fessional
What I do not understand this :Ialthough my flight is booked for March ,next year, through a T A ,on economy (it is part of a special cruise deal, which include flight and accommodation) I cannot upgrade it to business .I have quite a lot of points.and I can pay for it…no I have to go back to my travel agent to deal with it…but the travel agent said no you have to tell Qantas…This time it is QF flight, both way to Narita…I had the same problem in 2023 trying to upgrade a flight to Dubai with QF code share with Emirate…Qantas:”check with Emirate…Emirate:”check with Qantas…did not get anywhere…IAM 85yo…and handicap…no empathy none at all from Qantasand furthermore Qantas club life…😢😢😢😢
Qantas is my fav airline my opinion
Mine too. Tried others and they do not stack up to the friendliness and the feeling of home.
I would love to see more of the outside of the Plane and wing views, etc. in your videos :)
You should do what you did with United, American, and Delta. Economy, Premium Economy, and Business + first with British Airways, Lufthansa, and Air France
This is the best channel
