LOL It was a whole story about Niko's parents trying to impress one of their bosses with a beautiful spaghetti dinner, and little Niko the dream master comes in and ruins it with her epic clacker skills.

Definitely go out and do what makes you happy! It'll make you a vibrant, interesting, attractive person. However, I would add... use dating apps, but date smart.
1. Use OkCupid, not Tinder (OkCupid is based on values, interests and life goals, not just appearance)
2. Be selective about who you actually go on dates with. Go on a date *because* you feel a connection not *to* feel a connection
3. Always have a phone with your date before meeting up. Texting chemistry does not always = chatting chemistry. Talking on the phone first will save both of you an awkward first date!
4. And just to contradict Angeline's and Niko's advice a bit... don't look for dates at events not intended for dating. It can be really awkward, especially for women, when an individual shows up at a game night looking to play Agricolo only to have a stranger hitting on them. However, if it happens organically then more power to ya!
So my parents announced that they’re getting a divorce the day I got into grad school (I’m 24....they were married 35 years) so I’m in this weird changey time of life and it’s making me feel weird about the holidays. But I just got engaged to my long time gf so I will get to be with her even if she works most of the day........I’m happy to think about next year and how much better it will be. Or in 2 years! And also days of our wives gives me the most life of anything ever
jayweasley Dang thats a lot of bad and good going on at once!! Huge congrats on grad school, that’s amazing!! My parents got divorced two years ago but it was a good thing in our situation so it’s a hard one to think about from other people’s shoes! I’m proud of you ❤️ the next 80 years of your life will be amazing and full of good and bad but mostly good and the bad will be learned from!! Go get that grad degree!

My friend and I always refer to this time of year as "hand-cuffing season" lol (which I think is a 'real' term she didn't make up.) It's when a lot of single people will look for relationships so they're not alone during holidays, then cut it off just after the beginning of January - and it's not always a conscious decision.

I found the first couple of years after I moved to Canada, whenever I got sick it took me a long time to fully shake it off. I think your immune system gets sorta localized so if you move to a new place, your body needs to adjust a little bit so it takes you longer to recover from colds. Anyway, I hope you feel better soon Niko!

We never go out for new years. I don't like people haha. But we always have it as a cosy us night where we watch films, have take away and be cosy and then at midnight we open the window and let the new year in (that's a weird thing mum does so I now do it haha) but I love it because it's just us together 😁

I divorced in May and since I separated from my ex I have been doing more for myself! I've been traveling (going to Salem, MA next week), going to the movies or dinner by myself and saying yes more often when I get invited to do stuff. I have done more in 15 months than I have in the 10+ years I was with the ex. It's a trying time for me, but I think I'm doing pretty good for myself. Thank you for the reminder!

Ty for talking about difficult situations surrounding holidays etc. I have soooo much trauma surrounding Christmas and I feel like every year I just dread it and I always have REALLY bad anxiety & panic attacks this time of year. I feel like... I can't celebrate a holiday I love and that I'm not allowed to enjoy it because of what other people have chose to do to me. It's so shitty to have to think like that. It's so nice and reassuring to hear that it doesn't have to be that way forever and one day it won't be something terrible and scary. I’m 21 and never been in a relationship, atm I’m kinda in between watching dramas and idolizing to be in a relationship and also thinking I don’t need no man lol (just not really caring that I’m not in a relationship) but I have no friends to hang out with and being kinda down about the whole situation but honestly wanting to take your advice just not knowing what to do that peaks my interest to go out to do (I’m also a homebody lol)
