I really get quite upset when people think of ASMR as weird. As someone with ADHD who has a lot of sensory overload issues related to that, ASMR to me isn't even getting tingles from tapping makeup brushes or crinkling tissue paper like it is to most people. I like ASMR videos that are just like any other video but they're whispered and calming and soft so it doesn't hurt my head. Not to shame anyone who likes ASMR for tingles or anything, that's perfectly normal too, but my point is that there's a trillion reasons someone could like ASMR, and it's silly to generalise the whole thing as weird or sexual or creepy! If I wasn't able to retreat to a bathroom and put on some ObviouslyASMR or ALB after being in a crowded area like school, I'd be having anxiety attacks on the daily! I just wish people saw ASMR as something more three-dimensional than they do right now, it's really quite frustrating to have to keep it a secret.
