    I'm so depressed that I need to share a little bit with you about my situation. I live in Brazil. I dropped engineering for personal reasons. I always liked painting and I decided to face the project. I met the Idaho Painter channel and immediately became a fan of his work and dedication. I even bought a titan 440 impact in August last year. I have not been able to find a job since. I've tried every day looking for one. Brazil has been a very hostile place for entrepreneurs lately, it has practically become a communist country. Even so, when I feel very depressed, I always watch Chris's videos and somehow regain my willpower not to give up and to move on day after day. You are an inspiration to me Chris and bet that to several other people in conditions similar to mine as well. God bless you, sir!

    I've been painting for the past 15 years, with that said I would recommend wood putty on the interior and keep Bondo on the exterior. Now as for Liquid Masking, I would diffidently use Liquid mask if you were having to do multiple muntin's/sashes or door windows in excess only because it saves taping time. I deal with million dollar homes in Florida soo it calls for many panes to be protected, but liquid Mask come's to the rescue everytime! I've been watching you're videos and getting tips from them but I think you could get tips from me as well.

    • @MichaelWilson-ib9ns

    Two questions:
    1. Double extension on gun for ceilings, how do you control spits? Are you using a Graco Clean Shot prior to tip?
    2. Camera? The clarity is awesome, what's your setup? HD? GREAT JOB! Congrats.

    Awesome video, you guys obviously know what your talking about. I agree it definitely more cost effective to spray high ceilings then rolling them and you better have huge traps and good shoulder muscle and neck muscles to roll out the whole house ceilings. Spraying trim nice if you have a lot of it. Chris don't feel bad on using Proclassic not sure which one you used but the latex tends to run or sag if you put too much on heavy body and not fast enough dry time to prevent that. I like to use the latex Proclassic enamel, urethane thin too but not much body. I actually prefer using Duration for trim and doors comes out beautifully doesn't have a hard finish but the finish and look is beautiful. Keep the videos coming good to see real professional painting.

    I'm curious how many man hours went into masking everything off and how many man hours go into spraying in total. I don't paint professionally but I've been using a roller and brush and I find that I can just jump into painting almost right away with minimum masking. I do own a sprayer and I know I need practice and tips since my biggest gripe is the hilarious amount of overspray with a 515 tip.

    I like the all purpose adhesive idea. Faster than tape. Great videos. I've been painting for over 20 years I enjoy your tips and videos. Do you only use deglosser on oilbase products? Latex bonds to latex pretty good. Or do you just used it on high gloss surfaces regardless of oil base or latex? Seems faster than priming and sanding. Priming is a proven bonder I'm unsure about the deglosser

    Sprayed indoors for the first time yesterday with magnum 5x. Horrible experience with the overspray, any tips on preventing overspray?

      It's part the paint you're using and the tips. Like he says in here, a HEA will have less fallout. I haven't attempted this yet but I feel like thinning the product (within spec) will allow you to turn down the pressure a bit. Higher pressure = more overspray as well. But general rule when you're spraying is to cover everything you don't want dust/paint on. Getting air moving is also very helpful so setting up a duct and air ventilation system. It's all part of the learning process. Don't be discouraged.

    I went for spraying after a long deliberation and I could have done it soo much faster by just rolling it. Masking is a negative activity in my psychology. Masking means trying to keep something off something instead of every action you take creating the thing you are after, which is a positive (accretive) activity. So in my mind even if it took the same amount of time I'd rather roll. Now if you have a ton of detail to paint and the amount of masking is not that much then spraying makes sense. Plus it is better for the environment, less plastic and tape use and less paint use - and less crap in the air. I say I have a sprayer for sale - please give me back my roller.

      That's what I think as well. By the time they spent masking all that stuff off we could have painted half of it.

      I think it depends entirely on just how much masking and otherwise covering of things you have to do. I actually like painting with a brush more than a roller, and I like that more than spraying. So if given the time I would likely just brush and roll. If I need to hurry though, I would spray if I can get away with just minimal masking and using a shield.
      I was so resistant to spraying because I perceived a LOT of masking involved. Once I tried it though, man I could fly through that job. At least 5 times faster for me, WITH the masking.

    Is there any pressure adjustment that needs to be made using that long of an extension?

    • @WhoWouldWantThisName
      @WhoWouldWantThisName 5 років тому

      Zack did say he was using round 2200 psi and I'm assuming he was referring to that setup with the extensions, since he was talking about ceilings when he stated that. Maybe he would dial it down without all that extension.
