    According to a well known online subscription based garage tool the sump plug is 50nm and the oil filter housing is 25nm. It hold 8.9L inc filter.

    Cracking video of how to do something relatively easy so we can learn and save money.
    I just love regional accents too.
    Keep posting for the Renault Master 2.3dci please, good van just put together with Pounland bits in places😢.

      Trade accounts aren’t worth a wank anymore. ECP is the worst offender. Ring up to get a price. They say it’s £150 but £110 trade. On the website it will be up for £80 🤦‍♀️
      Not only is it an arse trick, but it makes mechanics look like we’re “ripping people off” when we quote prices on parts based on what we’re quoted from the suppliers and then Joe Public can get the same thing from the same place for less than we can.

    Wow, I just know Ill love it ,,, I was working at Belfast Pride earlier today , lots of trans there too , mostly looking an oil change and a good service too.
    Todays tip ,,, well from me anyway ,,, when doing an oil change first thing to do is to pull the dip stick out of the home position ,, [ if it has a dipstick] and then proceed as usual ,
    if you get called away , or someone else steps in etc etc etc , it means you wont close the bonnet , or start the engine , forgetting youve not put oil in it . Its simple , but effective.
    I think I saw the subliminal text ,, something about a standard hand pump , we used to call it by a different name altogether though, rhymes with banker ..... just saying.

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  Рік тому

      Not a bad idea about the dipstick tbh

      @@StupidBlokeStupidVideos if its standard ,,, did it need pumping , or is that a special interest section ,,,
      lol
      the dipstick thing is simple and daft , but after a long day its easy to forget i you put the oil in or not , the dipsticks just a visual reminder.

    If it's a copper sump plug washer you can anneal it by heating it up red hot then drop it in some cold water. Apparently it's science and it makes the washer all squishy again.

    I've red that you need to change oil every year even if you have many km's? i only drive like 2000km yearly, it seems stupidly expensive to do it yearly

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  9 місяців тому

      A lot of service schedules are milage and time based, so even if you don’t do the milage the schedule will often say every year or every other year anyway. Manufactures are stretching service intervals too long these days and it’s causing all kinds of engine problems. For what the oil and filter costs, I’d at least change the oil and oil filter every year even if doing low miles.

    • @marcviej.5635
      @marcviej.5635 9 місяців тому

      In my previous van I only changed oil every 3 to 4 years, had it for 25 years, never had an issue, only got a new one because of emission regulations, I don't get it, those fancy high tech synthetic oils can drive 20.000 to 30.000 km's but after a year they break down and go bad? Thanks for answering and for the video it's been very helpful

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  9 місяців тому

      @@marcviej.5635 nah leaving them should be fine, the problem is that if you’re only doing 2k a year then chances are you’re doing mainly short journeys. Short journeys are specifically hard on oil. The engine is running rich when cold which creates more carbon deposits, and also your DPF will need to regenerate more often which dilutes the oil with diesel.
      If I had one of these brand new vehicles with the ridiculously long service intervals, I’d replace the oil myself between services. I strongly disagree with these long service intervals. They cause lots of issues with many different makes and models.

    when you change your fuel filter don´t just pump fuel in! on the top you have to open the valve which looks to the side, this way you bleed the filter from air. pump till there is no more air bubbles and close the valve

    • @StupidBlokeStupidVideos
      @StupidBlokeStupidVideos  7 місяців тому

      On an old rotary injector pump it would be needed but on a common rail you usually don’t need to. I had one snap off on the past and don’t like undoing them unless I have a spare or really have to.
      I remember vaguely doing a Volvo V50 2.0d, was a 2007 Peugeot or Ford engine if I remember right. It was pain in the arse to bleed up, pretty sure it had no bulb pump and no in tank pump which is pretty dumb idea. To bleed it up I had to undo the nipple and force fuel in with a syringe! You can supposedly get them going by running them on ether until they pull the fuel through but I’ve always refrained from doing that as you’re potentially running the HP pump dry of fuel, and the fuel is the lube!
