- Vauxhall Movano same as Renault Master 2.3 dci
Customer states he's been to the main dealership around a dozen times but no resolution to the faults were made as after each visit the engine light came on and went to limp mode reduced power after driving 1-2 miles.
battery terminals and fuses had extreme corrosion and battery was defective.
glow plug module also defective.
I admire your tenacity by keeping digging until you got the problems sorted. Now if I was that guy, I’d take your video to my solicitor and show him how you fixed the problem when Vauxhall didn’t, even though the van was under warranty. Then I’d sue them for the expense of bringing it 250 miles to you to fix, not to mention the hassle of it all. Great job Jimmy.
Nice to find someone who knows what there doing . I've always said that most small garages know more then the main dealers when it comes to fixing vehicles. Ilike the way you check out the systems with the scanner Jimmy.
careful. I am an auto electrician mobile mechanic and theres loads of garages in Brighton which are small but also POOP
These are really great videos and speak volumes about good, independent mechanics. Putting the dealerships to shame. Terrible situation really when you think that this van has done just 8000 miles and the dealers cannot fix it.
Loving the daily content on either YT or tiktok. I really enjoy learning from your problem solving. You could teach 'proper mechanics' a few things
It really is shocking that the dealer doesn't seem to have the knowledge or care to fix an issue like this. Well done Jimmy, if you cant fix it, no one can. 👍🏻
Thanks
The difference is indi mechanics actually care - they're also generally more interested in going in with initiative rather than a script or throwing parts at a motor.
Must be nice to work in a dealer where you can pull items off the shelf and play parts darts.
It seems to be the case with most dealerships now including Mercedes. We had a crankshaft sensor fault on my wife’s Smart car at 2 months old. The light remained on for most of the warranty period because the dealership couldn’t fix it. At the end of the warranty period they were offering goodwill gestures. We took it to an independent garage. They fitted a new sensor, calibrated it properly and the fault has been cleared for over three years now. They call they’re staff Technicians because one things for sure, they’re not mechanics.
@@davemorris6747 Well said!
Same BS here in the US
Wow, well done for curing that, i had 3 vauxhall vans and had trouble with 2 of them with similar faults and even though they was all under warranty Pentagon was trying to charge me for forced regens so i took them to Arnold clarks and they was even worse for trying to charge, they both charged around £85 to diagnose and around the same to have forced regens which i paid, one of the vans ended up on side of road with a knackered engine and it took them near 3 months to put new engine and injectors in, when i got van back it had a flashing glow plug light so i'd had enough and got rid of all 3 vans, each time the vans were booked in it was anywhere up to 10 weeks wait, you can see why vauxhall have 85% bad reviews on trust pilot,
Thorough and methodical as always Jimmy! Well done ,no wonder you are unindated with volumes of calls 💪👍
Looks like it’s been fished out of the river. Top work
You’re like a dog with a bone - won’t let go and be beaten. Well done for getting to bottom of these faults when the dealers are just ripping off the customers.
Every time I watch a video I’m learning something.
Good one this Jimmy, must admit I had this one down as jumped with the cables buck to front. Seemed to have way to many faults, especially when the new battery didn't fix it.
Bloke has his van back to make money, great job and shame on which ever Vauxhall stealer he was taking this to.
Thanks Jimmy excellent,,i must say u definitely know ur stuff 💪
I appreciate that!
Love watching these you really are a good mechanic if I get issues I think I'd spend the extra miles to get booked in with you well done 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Maybe the glow plug relay, was shorting the battery power to either the glowplugs,, (even when the glowplugs were not requested to work), or a dead short in the relay, and eventually killed off the battery plates. Good video. Pity you cannot name, the dealership.
Hi. In another video you explained how the glow plugs were required as part of the dpf regen. However, I can't find it. Could you explain how the glow plugs are required/needed/used etc for the dpf regen.
The glow plugs come on to ignite the extra fuel being injected on the exhaust stroke to increase the exhaust temperature so the soot can be burnt out of the dpf.
With that much corrosion on the battery and fuse terminals it looks like it’s been in a flood.
Nice one for not giving up and doing the right thing jimmy
Great job Jimmy well done ☘️🥃💚👍
One reason why I don’t like taking any vehicle of mine to main dealers. They should know their vehicles but they haven’t got a damn clue. I can say that without fear of lash back because I went to a Renault dealer where my van had been for nearly 3 weeks and they couldn’t get it to start after fitting a new airbag module. The fuel system needing priming on the electric fuel pump for 2 minutes but they hadn’t done this. I went, primed it and it started! Muppets.
Ohh, this type of Vauxhall, Opel, Renualt and Nissan has a s... EGR system, they have a mechanical flap that detach from the EGR valve, and goes directly into the bi-turbo exhaust side, and in worst case the turbo has to be exchanged. Here in Denmark Opel has never heard about this, but Renualt say this is a common fault.😊😊
If he bought that from new its not fit for purpose, should make a claim for rejecting the vehicle and getting a refund.
Told him that. I know a friend gave back a 2 year old vehicle in exchange for a brand new one after multiple visits where they didn't resolve it
@@ORileysAutos Seems like a reasonable request, there's something iffy going on with that van.
stored in a field during lockdown for over a year
Possibly
Has that van been in a flood?
Thats a lot of debris for such a new vehicle.
very bad design behind nfs wheel has holes in tray allows water in but don't drain away this can be seen from 6moths old don't know but cheap £1 water drier might keep out condesation lots Vaseline on all terminals on fuse block and bat terminals renault cannot learn by their mistakes nearly 20 year old problem now going back to the battery between seats allowing water from underneath entering tray
@@martinsheanon3232 Thanks for the insight.
Did u check with a multimeter if the glow plugs were getting electricity after u replaced the glow plug relay? U probably did but forgot to say it in the video so Im currious ...
Yes. The glow plug module fault kept return after a drive before
Fantastic Job
How did that battery get in that state??????
Was there voltage at the glow plug after new relay?
I have similar electric issues on my movano 2021. "Fuel injection calibration for cylinder No 2 Signal hi" engine is knocking. I've changed the injector on cilinder no 2 but didn't do anything is the same issue. Can you help please. Thank you
What is the average grams of soot should sit at I have a 2020 master from new and has been back 4 times for regens and software updates it’s a nightmare mine was at 24g and they said that was average?
Pretty sure it should regen if it reaches 15g and come down to 0 to 6G
@@ORileysAutos ahh ok thanks mines currently sitting at 26g and it went to Renault yesterday and they said that’s average I thought that was a bit hi definitely after an hour motorway drive to get there ? They also updated the software about 6 months ago and said I should now get a light on the dash to tell me it’s mid flight of a re-gen don’t switch off that has never spy
I'd be sending the invoice to Vauxhall
From the look of the battery area, it looks like it has been in a flood....
Yeah wasn't sure if just a bad design where road splashing gets in there? It's not fully sealed in there
Will it be cheaper to drive into london with a bus
Hi mate what model launch do you have looks lot better than my one
Launch Euro Tab 3
@@ORileysAutos was it expensive

Nice.
I hawe on my vw caddy 2012 1.6 tdi a glow plug controle module error p0670 circuit malfunction
Is this a relay problem ?
Thank you
My dpf measures are oil ash limit 70g
Shoot mass calculated 5.7 g
Shoot mass measured 9.69g
High pressure egr closing 61.96%
Dpf imput temp 184.36 output 182.98 ⁰C
Oil ash reasifue 134.5
Have a great day
Great video jimmy you know your stuff like 👍
Thanks 👍
Really, vauxhall should pay for most of that
All of it
Hey buddy, can you tell us where are you based
All dealers know how to do is just clear codes and fit new parts.
Customer fell out with dealership and was forced to go elsewhere, can’t believe everything people say.
think mine has the same problem 2 times its been in the garage 2nd time today they just ran a re-gen it ok for a month
Amazing💪
Thanks 🔥
What DPF temp are you looking for, what's an OK minimum value after a couple minutes of revving for you to go - it's ok?
When up to temperature you should be able to get 300 degrees easy just by reving or driving the regeneration when working correctly will send it up to 650 degrees, if it stays around 200 there’s an issue
Just shows how poor some main dealers are trained 😢
Worst vans around now on my 3rd and nothing but problems has cost me more keeping the 3 vans on the road then it would of to buy a poshe
"Dealers hire shit ppl" they want you to come back. Or they wouldnt last.
You are a good diagnostic mechanic- ppl need to learn off you on how to troubleshoot
Always found Vauxhall Dealers to be pretty poor, Amazing the lack of knowledge at dealer level sometimes.
Probably because on this model it's essentially a rebadged Renault master. Vauxhall have now stopped using the Renault masters and their movanos are now fiat ducatos
Is that an iveco engine n2.3 ??
Looks like renault
These vans won't regen when oil degradation is over 11 percent so service light stops regeneration.
That van has been in a flood or high water..
🤘😎🤘
Jobs a goodun 💪 sad really, he’s spent a lot of money on that van for reliability and piece of mind warranty, although shit happens but all the time lost back and to at the dealers and still got no where, he then has to jump in it and drive all the way to you to pay to have it repaired because of the dealers incompetence. Good job tho Jimmy 👍
Thank you
Just goes to show Vauxhall Technicians haven't got a clue how DPF works
the last 3 words weren't needed
Main dealers just plug your car into a computer and the computer tells the "mechanic" what to do. They don't employ trained motor mechanics any more.
❤
Vauxhall quality control . They have a problem with NOT SOLDERING IMPORTANT WIRING inc. Battery posts yhat are heavily crimped and you wouldnt beleive no electric could not recharge battery from alternator but wiring oxidizes creating no recharge to battery. Astras and probably others
Bought a car many years ago with a fault they couldn't fix, was a over sensitive air mass meter only needed a new air filter wasn't rocket science read the data not the error messages
No Vauxhall in this van apart from the badge... It's a Renault through n through.
Diamond of death van 😂
💯 Diamond Of Doom!! 😅
@@ORileysAutos very much so!! 🤣🙈
Better to drive a few hundred miles and get the job done properly than leave it in a Vauxhall dealership garage for weeks on end with people who clearly don't have a clue as to what they are doing.... Another good job maybe you can go and teach Vauxhall mechanics😂😂😂
I think shoukd of just rejected this shocking behaviour from Vauxhall on a 2 year old vehicle.
just because its the "DEALERSHIP" dosent mean they know what to do!! here in the states we call them "STEALERSHIPS" its like they have no common sense / auto mechanics 101!?! anybody???
They just don’t build good vehicles any more jimmy
Don't buy a Vauxhall
It’s ok you can’t any more just Peugeot’s with Vauxhall badges
@@daveawhittleSo True. The reason I moved away from Vauxhall.
Suspect youve not seen the last of this one !
I have the same problem with a 2021 Vauxhall Movano .....this vans are junk
Sounld like the vax place don't no what there doing 😂😂😂
I sense a bit of BS here! 💩
If there was a glow plug module to engine comms hard fault the engine light would be on as this is an emissions related item and an EU6 complaint engine. It is all very well slagging off t dealer and representing urself as t 'knight in shinning armour' for YT likes but keep to t truth! Uv bn caught out! 👉
Belta 👍
Another piece of Diesel shite from vauxhall this time .
Renault actually 😉
