I love these old pocket computers. They coolest thing about them is that you could write programs on the device, unlike current smartphones. I learned BASIC on a Tandy PC-1 (Sharp PC-1211). In a time, where few people had personal computers at home, these were portable technological marvels.
It's so hard to believe that these were ever any use for anything with a tiny calculator display and no means to connect them to anything. I can't remember but imagine they would have been really expensive too, especially that last one. I bet the yuppies loved them 🤣👍
Love the video. You are entertaining as always. But these handheld computers will not be a part of my large collection of electronic games. For whatever reason, I just am not too interested in them. Still cool to see though! Keep it up!

Glad it is not just me who loves them. I used to program them too.
Love seeing these, fascinating despite the limited hardware and uses. Perhaps some Psions and similar some time??
Thanks Dan. Yes, and the Psion had Scrabble on it.
Cassette mechanism probably needs new rubber belts, they turn to mush after a couple of decades
Yes, I guess you would have to cut and re-glue one to get the right size, as would be impossible to find a proper replacement.
@@retrobloke might be able to, it might use the same ones as a dictophone who knows.
...Yes, yes they are!
I'm with you! I love them.

Yes, they're part of that yuppie scene aren't they, like pagers and brick phones. I like them a lot, but I get that they're not exactly game-ey

Thanks Ron, yes, I just get fascinated by these things, I guess this was the precursor to the laptop, though they never got built-in printers!
No nostalgia for these at all. Passed me by.
Fair enough, they’re definitely something of an oddity. Maybe I’ll hold back on my newbrain vid 😀
Not on my account 😁 I've never heard of those so be interested to see it.
