Balance is banned because p1 can unload their hand and fast mana…then balance…keep their artifacts and enchantments and make everyone discard most or all of their hand. You say you want balance to come off…until everyone plays it and mulls for it and no one gets to play except the player who got to play it first lol

Narset, Parter of Veils, an Oathbreaker all-star which you brought up in this video alongside Hullbreacher 3. Sorin Markov, given that he's the first one people always bring up when it comes to Planeswalker commanders breaking the game 4. Aminatou the Fateshifter, due to the fact that it's already seen use in EDH in Sisay 5. both Ugins, which have seen success in Oathbreaker and might each have their own utilities (one for combos, one for control)
Great analyses! Karakas is tricky because while it is better in low-color decks, it's also better *against* low-color decks (since they're usually commander-oriented). And please GOD give me Yawgmoth's Bargain 🙏

I watched a few unban videos before but I think by far your unban assestment is the most fair and just to the current meta. Flash, Paradox engine, recurring nightmare and balance should be unban to spice up the format given that there are more broken cards like the one ring or bowmaster.
As someone who played pre flash ban, I think the ability for 1U to represent a win at any stage of the game shouldn’t be understated. A blue instant is easier to counter counterspell-wise, but also people are a lot more likely to allow a silence to resolve on an opponent’s main phase than yours. I think breach offers wayy more value, basically being extra tutors and removal in a can, but they are hard to compare as the ways in which they win are so different-compared to thoracle though, flash is so much stronger. It does give bant something to do though!

If CEDH intends to ban nothing, I think Leovold is a fine unban. It punishes the midrange-durdle-do-nothing decks relentlessly. I think the healthiest thing for the format would be scrutinizing as many of the “get rewarded for my opponents playing the game” cards as possible. Cards like Rhystic Study and Bowmasters, while format defining, also are exceptionally limiting to the format and reward not doing anything. It’s boring and unhealthy. That’s my unpopular opinion.
It's really a tricky issue as the cEDH folks have fought sooooo hard to be recognised as part of the EDH community and not as a separate entity... Changing this would be a rebuttal of all those efforts... However, cards on the ban list being absolutely okay for one end of the spectrum while being completely absurd for the other is a problem...
Give me back Prophet of Kruphix, Primeval Titan, Sylvan Primordial and I'll be happy. Channel is my favorite banlist card, but it would break the format completely and instantly become a top 5 format staple.
Karakas would be interesting. Forces decks to be less commander dependent, provides some help against your commander being killed. Might incentivize more land removal also.
@@LemorasCards the logic they applied to the primeval titan ban has to do with influencing other decks and its own to run clone effects. OBM and dockside are doing the same thing, but it's way worse than titan could hope to be
I'm new to cEDH and I built a deck that takes advantage of obeka and her ability to let me keep token copies around. I'm getter constant win condition draws in virtual testing on mox turn 4 or 5. Am I crazy for even attempting this in the real world?
You're not crazy, but I know some people have struggled with building Obeka for cEDH because of how many cards you have to run that aren't as good without her, plus generally those being slower than other decks in her colors and her not always providing the card advantage to make up for it. Definitely a Commander that has some powerful synergies and in good colors, just hasn't been proven in cEDH yet overall.
Pengine + The One Ring? Idk? Maybe too much. My biggest agree is fast bond. If I could unban one card that’s it no question. It’s a little bit insane but it’s not honestly better than dockside and it would make green better and we may actually see land fall strategies in cEdh 🤘😖🤘 Gitrog would get a bit better and Tatyova would immediately go up a bit and I’m 100% here for both of those things. It would be cracked in Korvold too.. also a positive in my view 👍
That was one I actually recorded my take on and ended up cutting it. Ultimately felt it was so expensive to do the main thing it would do that it seemed fine to me.

Captain Sisay has become better since Paradox Engine ban, but people unfortunately wrote it off because the PE ban.
Definitely still can do some work. 5C Sisay also steals a lot of the spotlight.
It definitely didn't help that after I won Ka0s 7 with Captain Sisay, none of the major channels talked about it since Mox Masters was the same day.

I do my best! OBM and Dockside existing definitely make it easy to point out that some ban list cards aren't all that scary.

I think eventually the community will need to have two ban lists, one for casual/general, and one for competitive.

Balance is probably fine, it’s legal in 1v1/duel/french, and it’s only ever used in _some_ control lists, and mostly as a 2 mana wrath.

I think it should be the other way around, edh needs a new banlist considering the current ban list is still geared towards cEDH.
