Definitely this song and “Frayed Ends of Sanity”. I think Kirk’s solo in this song is one of his most iconic solos and James harsh vicious vocals are amazing.
@Stephen that's right wing garbage. Contrary to popular belief liberal progressive and Communists are not the same. There are very few communist actually on the left.
If it was about the 50's they wouldn't have sad witch-hunt modern day. they would have said witch hunt old times. It's a song about the evils of censorship and censorship happens in all aras
We really need to take time out to appreciate Lars' incredible mindblowing drumming and of course, Kirk's phenomenal solos on this album!😎♥️,they really stand out
I heard them play it in 1992, Orlando Citrus Bowl with John Marshall playing rhythm (James was in a cast from the pyro accident in Montreal and just sang). Sounded fantastic.
A few people are saying The Frayed Ends Of Sanity is their favorite song on that album, it's my favorite song on this album as well. The whole album is very good. I like it because of the heaviness and aggressiveness of the songs
I was 15 in 1988 when this album came out and Justice was the first Metallica stuff I heard thanks to an old school friend back then. It just blew me away. I was used to the likes of Maiden, Sabbath and other classic iconic bands like that, but Justice was the first time I'd heard something so aggressive, angry, dark, pounding and un-nerving. I went on to discover many other heavy bands after this such as Celtic Frost, Voivod, Napalm Death, Godflesh and many more, but if it hadn't been for Justice from that old mate of mine, it may never have happened. Shortest Straw is still one of my faves from this album. Such an underrated track. We all know of the bass issues with this album on the production, but the pace, ferocity, time changes and that killer solo from Kirk still blow my mind 35 years on. My only niggle with this album is the bass problems. Jason deserved better. I'm also a huge fan of Tool so I get how different an album would sound if you took away important bass lines.
Shortest Straw definatly my favorite as well. Almost all the songs on that album were top 10 for them. They got soft after that but now they are trying to comeback to metal.
Underrated song from this album, a speedmetal masterpiece. Lyrically it's quite in keeping with the album's theme, some who happen to fall through the cracks of justice: the shortest straw has been pulled *for you* -- i.e, no choice in the matter. I think "Channels Red" just has something to with seeing red, finally, after so much injustice...I could be wrong. One song from this album? Probably Blackened, or The Frayed Ends of Sanity...savage, precision speedmetal.
I would definitely choose To Live is To Die for my forever song, but I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite on the album. Such a fun ride with you on this one!
This is one of my favourite Metallica songs besides "Disposable Heroes" and "Harvester of Sorrow". Those china hits in the second chorus always give me a great feeling.
....And Justice is my fav album by Metallica. I was 14 and a freshman in HS when it was released and have been listening to it ever since (I am now 49) 😁. Never gets old.
They had away of telling like it is! And still true today. My favorite song on "Justice" is "Dyers Eve", but "Kill em' All" is by far their most aggressive album. You need to hear it after you finish "And Justice For All". "Whiplash" is my favorite Metallica song.
IMHO Kill Em' All felt like a junior Metallica compared to the three albums that followed. I love it, don't get me wrong, but you can tell the maturity and overall control over their dynamics and playing in the three albums after it.
I love your Metallica reactions because you're concise and to the point with your reactions. I was 11 years old when this album came out. It had a huge impact on me especially at that young age, so seeing your first reactions is gold!
I always enjoy your deep thought connection reactions. "Blackened" for me. That song still gets me emotional sometimes. "See our Mother put to death. See our Mother die" Can't make a plea much more prolific than that.
Yeah! This song is a jam! You’re right LJ, the drumming is killer! Funny story: My fiends and I call it “Soda Straw”. Lol. The soda straw has been pulled for you!!
Everybody saying they’ve coming back to their own self with DM and on. Musically maybe but lyrically this album is the ultimate level. And after 92 they somewhat become a part of the establishment so I don’t think we will hear something nearly like this
After this album, check out Load and Reload. They aren't thrash, but they are a different side of Metallica. The Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Fixxxer, and where the the wild things are are gems.
Well hopefully she does the Black Album. "Sad but true" I agree with you. I know those albums get shite on but they still have great songs "Bleeding Me is one of my favs as is Fuel off Load
There is a video of Lars playing this song on Guitar Hero: Metallica and when hes done playing he basically falls off his stool and says “dont ever fucking make me play that song again” 😂
Lilluy, have you noticed in every reaction you've done your eyes light up with each Hammett solo? in my years as a METALLICA fan he has drawn the women in, & i"ve been a fan since 1983 when I was 9.
Love the channel Lilly Jane, interesting interpretations! I'm a 50 year old metal fan so I find it fascinating what younger people think of music I listened to when I was a teen. Keep em coming. Try some Venom if you dare!
Such a huge difference if you compare James snarling vocal delivery and depth of lyrics from this song to something from the Black Album and beyond. It's like two different people.
AJFA was my "my first Metallica album" and my first introduction to long songs. AJFA is almost 10 minutes I was used to shorter radio fare earlier like 3 to 4 minutes. This didnt get me into ,metal though that was Sepulturas "Arise".
The way that James is phrasing his lyrics in this song is so remarkable. He is bending and twisting every word in a way that is totally unique.
The best in metal. This one epic lol
The song from and justice for all I'd listen to for eternity would probably be Dyers Eve. I just love the aggressive riffs and the crazy solo.
Have you listened to the demo version? I prefer it by far.
@@locsbcn The riff after that beautiful intro makes me fired up
Definitely this song and “Frayed Ends of Sanity”. I think Kirk’s solo in this song is one of his most iconic solos and James harsh vicious vocals are amazing.
I would choose 'To Live Is To Die' to hear for eternity.. This song is just brilliant. Cannot wait for you to react to this!
That would be my choice as well
The middle section has imo the best 4 measures for acoustic guitar period
This was going to be my choice as well. didn't think to many people would say to live is to die but first comment I see it
This is one of the highlights of the whole album here.
The frayed ends of sanity is my pick for song to be stranded with. Love your reactions!
The song's lyrics deal with McCarthyism, the blacklisting of American politicians with alleged ties to communism during the Red Scare of the 1950s.
@Stephen that's right wing garbage. Contrary to popular belief liberal progressive and Communists are not the same. There are very few communist actually on the left.
The song is about censorship in any ara
If it was about the 50's they wouldn't have sad witch-hunt modern day. they would have said witch hunt old times. It's a song about the evils of censorship and censorship happens in all aras
And all their songs conveniently relate to today....history doesn't repeat, that 💩 rhymes. Yeeeeeeaahhhhhheyyyyeaaaa
McCarthy was right about everything he said.
Underrated song. One of my favorites of theirs.
Absolutely phenomenal and epic track. Classic Metallica. Truly incredible video lilly.
One of their best albums of all time, very underrated ❤
We really need to take time out to appreciate Lars' incredible mindblowing drumming and of course, Kirk's phenomenal solos on this album!😎♥️,they really stand out
Lars is really drumming inspired on this one
I'll agree with Lars' drumming. It's incredibly creative on this album.
This is my favorite Metallica song of all time! Glad you got to enjoy it. It’s so difficult live it’s one of their least played songs in concert
I love your insight on these metallica lyrics 👏🏽 my favorite metal band of all time
Yasss……! Love this song . Wish they’d play it more live . ❤
It’s peak thrash perfection
They could have easily made 5 songs out of that 1 song
one of my favorites
@Lilly Jane Reacts, Dyers Eve is such a great song(my favorite) Can't wait for you to hear it🔥🤘💯
Possibly my favorite Metallica song. And my favorite Metallica guitar solo. Glad you got to this one! Great reaction!
Very technical song, great lyrics, hope for more Metal albums check out ❤

I was 9 when this came out
Gave me goosebumps watching you react to it .. And I’ve heard this song hundreds of times …
My song would be
BLACKENED 🤘
On the Rushmore of guitar solos. F*cking epic
To live is to die is my favorite from this album, it just gets me in the feels
Shortest Straw definatly my favorite as well. Almost all the songs on that album were top 10 for them. They got soft after that but now they are trying to comeback to metal.
Re listen to death magnetic. It's awesome.

A still young, angry, mourning Metallica. I love this album.
To Live is to Die is a masterpiece.
Epic album overall, but I love "The Frayed Ends of Sanity" from that album
Eye of the Beholder❤
Can't wait for the next reaction to to live is to die it's an amazing instrumental made in loving memory of Cliff Burton
The next song coming up is Frayed Ends of Sanity first.
To live is to die is not just my fav from this album but one of my favourites from metallica of all time.
The exact song that introduced "nadir" to my impressive vocabulary...it means "the lowest point"!!!
And Justice For All just might be my favorite album of theirs (at least from the pre-Black albums).
Also I think it’s one of the most underrated Metal songs, still to this day I listen to it a few times a week
I really like your facial expressions. The whole range of emotions 😊
There is a live version of this song in 92 you must check out. It will blow your mind. Shortest straw...
I can’t wait for you to hear dyers eve it is non-stop crazy from start to finish!!
Check out "To Live Is To Die".It's their last instrumental for quite awhile. The spoken word passage was written by the late Cliff Burton.
RIP CLIFF 🤟
Don't forget suicide and redemption my friend haha
Great song
One of my fovourite
This is one of my favourite Metallica songs besides "Disposable Heroes" and "Harvester of Sorrow". Those china hits in the second chorus always give me a great feeling.
I love this effin song🤘
Best album ever !
After One this my next fav then Dyers Eve sounds like Lars is going to bust the sneer drum
My favorite on this album and top 5 of theirs. The live in Kansas city 2019 is a good recent one to watch . I was there.
....And Justice is my fav album by Metallica. I was 14 and a freshman in HS when it was released and have been listening to it ever since (I am now 49) 😁. Never gets old.
Great reaction Lilly Jane!
This whole album is great, but it is 10x better listening straight through!! It all flows together so well.
That’s what I hate about reaction vids, these albums back then we’re made to push play and just let it go.
from Justice album definitely i choose To Live is To Die !!
This is the first one my mom called "shark music" when she heard it coming of my bedroom in the 80s. Couple years later she bought me a Fender. 😂
The best thing about this album . is the guitar tone and the bass is not there to ruin it. Cool reaction by you🙂
They had away of telling like it is! And still true today. My favorite song on "Justice" is "Dyers Eve", but "Kill em' All"
is by far their most aggressive album. You need to hear it after you finish "And Justice For All". "Whiplash" is my favorite Metallica song.

Yeah, Girl! Keep sending it!😎😈👍💪🍷🚬 Hard to pick a fave on this album, but I'd probably pick To Live is To Die.
I love your Metallica reactions because you're concise and to the point with your reactions. I was 11 years old when this album came out. It had a huge impact on me especially at that young age, so seeing your first reactions is gold!
“Frayed ends of Sanity”should be next!!

There’s a reason they’re the goats
This is one
I would listen to "One" for the rest of my life if i had to pick just one song from this album.
The until now released songs from the upcoming album are a flashnack into glorious Justice for All and Ride the Lightning days.
These next three are going to blow your mind! Dyers Eve especially!!!!
Thanks Again for 'And Justice For All...' Reactions - 'One' is definitely the Epic Song of the Album, but 'To Live is to Die' is also very excellent!!
ABSOLUFUKINLUTLY AMAZING BAND AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!!!💀🤘💀"ONE" MY SONG.
Good shout out for leper Messiah and as always, great reaction.
My favourite from AndJustice! - First track from side A of record 2.
There is a video of Lars playing this song on Guitar Hero: Metallica and when hes done playing he basically falls off his stool and says “dont ever fucking make me play that song again” 😂
AWESOME 😎👍💯
You nailed the lyrics in the end. It's about McCarthyism.
You'll never unhear "Soda Straw" :)
Best song IMO
One of the best, for sure. The solo, tho... 🤯
Lilluy, have you noticed in every reaction you've done your eyes light up with each Hammett solo? in my years as a METALLICA fan he has drawn the women in, & i"ve been a fan since 1983 when I was 9.
In Flames - Bullet Ride!!!! TRUST ME!!!!!
i know you like the lyris in songs please check out rush lyris are alwaya intelligent 2112 and carress of steek hemmispheres
If I listened to one song from that album, it would have to be *One* 🖤🤘
Nice job gurl!🤘💜 Either this or One.
"To Live is to Die" most definitely
Love the channel Lilly Jane, interesting interpretations! I'm a 50 year old metal fan so I find it fascinating what younger people think of music I listened to when I was a teen. Keep em coming.
Try some Venom if you dare!
I think this song has my favorite solos by Kirk.
Such a huge difference if you compare James snarling vocal delivery and depth of lyrics from this song to something from the Black Album and beyond. It's like two different people.
Blacked and Shortest Straw best on album, would've loved to heard it with Cliff
Yeah me too... but Cliff was gone so would've been nice and fair to have heard Jason's input.
to live is to die is my favorite followed by Blackened
You will love dyers eve lilly!
Can't wait for "Dyer's Eve" :D
I still have my “The Shortest Straw” tshirt from 1990 by pushead (the artist)
My song for the rest of my life would be One.
next up frayed, its gonna be fun
AJFA was my "my first Metallica album" and my first introduction to long songs. AJFA is almost 10 minutes I was used to shorter radio fare earlier like 3 to 4 minutes. This didnt get me into ,metal though that was Sepulturas "Arise".
The drums for the whole album are actually really easy. It's a good album to play for fun
The guitar solo felt like a race between Kirk and Lars to see who could play the fastest.
i love his snare lars is under rate
My all time favourite Metallica song.
Heaviest riff on 'tallica repertory
They wrote the book on progressive thrash metal with Justice....
ALL but if i had to choose from this Album Dyers Eve !!! or Frayed Ends of Sanity or One :)
Justice was a warning that too few heeded.
The last song "dyers eve "so agressive guitar riffs 🤟🤪
My older brother always thought he was saying soda straw.
