If Ben n Ken were in charge of the world's health, we'd have a shortage of patients, not doctors.
And a shortage of meat. 😮
@@vincentcasolaro no shortage of meat. The average person on Earth eats between 5 and 7 pounds of food a day. You couldn't eat more than 3 pounds of meat a day because you would feel too full and satiated. No bloating and discomfort though.
There would eventually be fewer doctors too because there would be less need for them.
And meds
Pill factories would close.
I have almost kicked diabetes to the curb Frst of all, I must say erectile dysfunction no more My wife thanks you. I thank you Thank you bringing the carnivore diet to me. I started last February a year ago, February. In June I stopped taking all of my medications except for my insulin. I only take two units of humalog if needed and five units of lantus overnight if needed. I'm no longer on blood pressure. Medicines or allergy medicines are inhalers or I don't have asthma. High blood pressure. I don't have any kind of hypertension. I don't have any kind of anxiety and I lost almost 70 lb. I went in last August to see my doctor routine checkup. Tell them I stopped taking all of my meds. I just turned 60 years old in January the 29th this year and he said we'll see about your labs. Heads up all of my labs until I got on the carnivore diet. We're borderline high if not over. That's why I was on so many meds. I got my results back from that were taken in August last year. Low and behold. All of my labs came back very low on the low side. Nothing out of range. Everything perfect. My doctor could not understand. I'm also drinking the element. I drink half of my body weight in ounces of water a day at one time I was drinking 300 oz of water a day. Now I'm only drinking about 100 oz of water a day. I feel fantastic. My 39-year-old wife can't believe the energy. The stamina of the way. My skin glows my outlook on life. My health just is amazing. My doctor doesn't believe it. He can't understand how but he sees the proof is in the pudding. Once again thank you Dr. Kenberry and your wife Nisha for being so positive on my journey. You guys are amazing. Keep up the great work. I'll keep following you. I can't stop talking about you everywhere I go. People want to know how I did it and I tell them your name, your wife's name. I give them the website on UA-cam. And wow! Thank you so very much. Have a great day. Stay safe and healthy of course. Keep up the good work
I Love You All
Tell me more about the ED?
Yeah you can just get it OK 👌 awesome thanks from Honolulu Hawaii
That’s amazing! Kudos to you for applying this and sticking with it 🎉
🎉As Dr. KB would say HUZZA!🎉 Spell check please 😅
Ben's book, Why We Get Sick, is worth every penny.
I agree, and I have his new book on pre-order.
If I'm looking for an expert, then I don't want to talk to most doctors. I don't want anything to do with them anymore.
Amen! Same here!
Agree on that .
I understand that. However, the more doctors see the changes happening, the more will begin to see the light. The more that happens, the more the rest of things will change.
Nope

Carnivore for 5 months lost 25 lb no more metformin no more blood pressure medication no more xanax. Thank you.
My sister and I just did the glucose tolerance test with insulin (3 hours). She has been on keto for about 4 years. I've been on for about 3-4 months. The slam of that glucose drink about did us both in! Later in the day, we were both famished, tired and had intestional problems. Can't believe I was doing this to myself, day after day, for years!
I've noticed that I get hungry sooner after I eat more carbs in a meal.
Why would you do that test? Of course your body is insulin sparing. The pancreas learns what you do daily.
@@jobrown8146 “Being Hangry” about 4 hours after my previous meal was normal most of my life. Now a 14 hour fasting window ie easy since I got rid of Gluten and greatly reduced processed carbs.
@@mpoharperwhat do you mean by that, can explain in detail please
@@Primetime_dadsthe ggt test is not a good test when living with low carbs without doing a period with carbs. My fasting insulin is low and tends to stay quite low. My pancreas adapted to my lifestyle.
Thank heavens for the replays. The PHD site is great but my timings don't allow me to view many of the lives but the replays are just as good.

I am such a fan of Dr. Barry and Bikman! I help run the nutrition department at a Southern California college. The classes being taught drive me insane in that they push plant based propaganda. Im always sharing Dr. Barry, Bikman, Baker, Diamond, Mason, Seyfried , etc and many faculty have switched to Carnivore or Ketavore. Lives are being changed and saved!
When Dr. Bikman speaks, I listen. Thank you Dr. Berry.
This is something doctors could have learned on their own if it wasn't taught to them. We all did this. Doctors didn't. This speaks volumes about a doctor's true interest helping patients.
You're so right. My GP congratulated me for making the changes I have and went on to say 'most people don't bother.' I corrected her and told her "Most people don't know because Dr's don't tell them so it's only if we search and find out for ourselves." She couldn't deny that!
Ha! I wish i could have seen that.
Or willing to admit their very expensive education was lacking. Part if the God complex a lot of Dr's have had historically.
The cancer doctor who objected to "red meat" is likely looking at epidemiology studies that classified a whopper with a bun and fries as a typical example of "red meat". Some even count a pepperoni pizza with double thick crust as being a "meat" item. That data means we should avoid carbs, not avoid red meat or eggs.
Nah. Nice try. But nah.
That’s exactly what has happened. It’s bad data.
I love Dr. Bikmam. Thank you for having him on.
Absolutely 💯 on target! Only if physicians today would learn / be taught this. As an educator, I fight this battle everyday. Thank you BOTH for continuing the fight!!
Sorry, but some of us probably have a high degree of insulin resistance that takes awhile to correct. It took me 2.5 years to shift my blood parameters into 'good' ranges, however I had a heart attack soon afterwards. Previous to this, I went to a cardiologist who did an echo, EKG and scan & told me I was A-OK, 6 weeks before my heart attack. During my inpatient stay, I asked the cardiologist how long it took to get 'clogged up' & was told 10-15 years which would correspond to my adherence to the SAD with generous amounts of processed foods. So, I don't think Keto will cure everything so one's expectations should be tempered, but it's better than reverting back to eating carbage
This is a highly pertinent point.
Keto will not cure everything but carnivore will do.
5 years keto 1year carnivore
You can reverse your CAC score
I started the keto diet, no carbs, no sugar and a ten minutes exercise regime daily, lost weight, my last blood work my LDL increased, my doctor immediately prescribed statin, i was a bit worried but got the answer from Ben today, thank you
My LDL went up to 300 after I started low carb in October 2021. My weight has now stabilised, weighing what I did in the early 1980s. I'm due for another blood test so it will be interesting to see if my LDL has gone down. BTW my trigs have gone down, HDL gone up and I have a good ratio. I'm metabolically healthy backed up by blood tests and scans.
Same thing happened to me!!! Instantly prescribed a statin. Hahaha!! No way!
@@terri2718Even with a CAC of 0 at the age of 65 cardiologist recommended low dose statin. I said no thanks.
@jobrown8146 my HDL went up too but my triglycerides ,A1C, fasting blood sugar and my CRP all normal
I believe triglycerides to hdl ratio is a better measure, at best should be around 1?
Unlike other cancers, Prostate Cancer cells are fueled by testosterone not glucose for growth. What worked for my prostate cancer and should be helpful for all other cancers is: a water fast for 21 days with only electrolytes in the water and then only eating eggs, butter, fatty beef, water and good salt. My Cancer is now undetectable. So I'll be eating this way until the very healthful natural end of my life.
Thank you so much for another informative and helpful conversation. I am boarded in nuclear medicine & radiology. I am insulin resistant and your content is helping me to resist becoming a type II diabetic.
"Mal-Information" is what I dish out because my name is Malcolm and sometimes I give people information.

Dr. Bikman is precisely the expert I want to see!
I was having regular migraines. I found out they were due to C1 and C2 vertebrae in my neck being out of alignment. Osteopath has treated them with massage and excercise. Migraines are gone. Also I'm nolonger sensitive to bright light. It's great.
So right about centralization. Control, power, money. Thanks to all ranchers. We ❤️ you.
In the 1990s my husband was a truck and bus driver developed Wegners Granulomatosis (it's an immune condition, we all have it but our bodies keep it under control). When we saw the specialist we met another man who was also a bus driver. Correlation --> fumes. I know that correlation is not necessarily causation but I thought the connection very interesting.
This was one of the best videos that you’ve had.
Agree! :)
I think so too! I sent myself an email with the link so I won't lose it.
Taken a lot of notes during this (watching the replay). Thanks so much for this Doc and Ben! 🙏
How about “Ken n’ Ben”!! Good team.
@Amy Host The liberty of it all...
I too had gastric bypass, in my 20's, I was huge 310lbs
Dropped 100 + lbs but after ballooned back up to 258 by my 40's
Hyperglycemia, dumping syndrome, all of that.
I still get a glucose response if I have any sweetener in my coffee, from monk fruit to Splenda, Stevie or aspartame. Watch those labels in your foods and seasonings drinks, and Toothpaste. Mouthwash..
I had to swap from keto to carnivor to get rid of that hypoglycemic responce.
I hope that helps you, @Dr Berry and @DrBinkman.. Gods Blessings ❤
I'm 60 now.
I started PhD 1 1/2 years ago.
I thought the Splenda in my coffee was raising my bs ( I'm type 2). So went to plain black coffee. Same! It's the caffeine that is raising my numbers!
I agree that canola and other seed oils are risky. And that true lard is healthy. But beware that some lard on the shelves is solid because it has been hydrogenated for convenience, which always has a byproduct of some dangerous trans fats. The label won't say trans fats, but if is solid instead of slushy, it is likely because it was hydrogenated, and hydrogenation almost always makes harmful trans fats. So we need to avoid seed oils, but also avoid convenient solid lard. Food made by a farmer with his own pig's lard is probably very healthy, but convenience foods made with industrially processed lard is now also a trans fat risk that they don't even realize.
Yeah, I no longer buy lard because of that. I ask for all the pork fat trimmings at our local grocery stores & render it myself. I do the same with beef fat. So much cheaper, since they often give it away for free or about 0.25 cents for a few lbs.
Also depends if it’s suet or muscle fat. Suet is harder and often sweeter, great for soap. Any commercial lard should say if it’s hydrogenated. I save all fats, and bones too.
Whoa!!! The word "LARD" , is only ever animal fat from pigs. Tallow is from cattle. Butter from dairy. Crisco is hydrogenated seed oils. It is chemically highly processed to resemble lard so as to sell it to people but it chemically does NOT and will NEVER be a natural animal fat. Fruit oils like olive, avocado, sesame, shea, and coconut oils, etc have been around for centuries pressed by hand. BUT, they at their best are far behind animal fats nutritionally. Today even many of these hand pressed fruit oils have now been chemically processed to glean more oils. Chemicals used in processing such as Hexane can never be entirely removed. Therefore naturally rendered animal fats or cold pressed olive, coconut, shea, avocado etc are the best as far as plant oils go. The oils that we use today such as soy, sunflower, canola, etc, literally were nonexistent before industrial processing was invented because it takes heavy refinery processes to create such oils. These oils were originally brought onto the market to lube engines and other machines when the demands of war caused petrol to run short. I am a statician and machinist by trade. I run the Trades & Industry and Design & Manufacturing ( including Nutrition) Departments at a college in Calif. I love the Trades that have changed how humankind lives on earth but the Industrial Revolution spawned so many chemical processes that flood our foods today. We were never designed to eat ANY of the GRAS ( generally recognized as safe) chemicals that the Feds allow in our foods and, for the most part are never included on a food label. So why have chemicals been added to foods and not listed on lables? Think about all the machines used to process a food. These machines auto press, mix, covey, chop, blend, cook, freeze dry, freeze and can, bottle, box and package foods. As a machinist I would need to design, assist and maintain such equipment by adding NON FOOD chemicals to the food to allow my machinery to process and move that food along better. Our illustrious government made decisions to allow additives such as carageneen to be added so the food is thickened and easier to process. Carageneen is used in an endless list of faux foods today in modern food processing, to each item as a percentage. But it is in countless items, the average consumer is eating this every day multiple times. Example, Carageneen is used in scientific research to bring on inflammation so the anti-inflammatory actions of drugs can be tested. Now is this logical? NO. But when it comes to contorting all of the facets of manufacturing to fit the profile of For Profit Industrialization then humanity is going to be continually affected at every level of existence. As of now our very existence as a species is REDUCING. Our average life expectancy is diminishing despite innovative healthcare. It is not a coincidence that metabolic dysfunction....carbohydrate poisoning....is now the number one driving force behind Americas top health concerns.
I have stopped drugs for diabeties, need to have low carnavore diet, I was on glipizide and it was turning my mind, couldn't think of words etc, now understanding how bad that drug is.
I’ve just recently been introduced to Dr Ben Bikman’s stuff, and he’s incredible - so excited to listen to this!
Regarding the confusion about A1 @ 19:00 in this video, the person is simply referring to ApoB and ApoA1 measurements (which are available in routine blood testing). ApoB is reflective of LDL and ApoA1 is reflective of HDL. When you get those two test results, some experts like to look at the ApoB/ApoA1 ratio. Typically, if that ratio is 0.8 or less, that is considered to be "healthy."
Thank you, Dr. Berry, for having Dr. Bikman on. I really enjoy listening to each of you in all your podcasts.
Love listening to Ben Bikman, thank you kindly Dr Berry. I lost 65 lbs on keto six years ago with 50 g total carb and some fasting). I am going through some issues with oxalate dumping (Sally k norton), so I’m still keeping max 35 total grams carbs in my diet. 💥 Love reading your book Dr Berry “Lies my doctor told me” 👏👏 hello from Canada

Two of my very favorite people and experts. Why couldn't this have gone on for the better part of a day?
I'm 70 and have a strong family history of heart disease and I've been treated for high blood pressure and high cholesterol for years. I have eaten a lot of carbs and pastries through many years. Six months ago, I started eating low carb and cutting out baked goods that I love. My fasting glucose has been normal or slightly elevated and when I asked my primary to order a fasting insulin level, he refused, said he doesn't order that. All he's concerned about is my total cholesterol and ldl.
I was stage two hypertension with blood pressure around 145/105. No meds but another year or two I would have had to as it continually creeped up no matter what I did.
After about 6 months of strict keto it dropped to 105/65. I was new to keto and worried at the start it would go up eating all those things they say raise it, boy was I wrong 😂
I’d be looking for a new Dr
I've been looking since my last appointmen a month ago.@@toddlind9140
Yes when all they go on is cholesterol and all it’s time to find a new Dr if you can. It’s triglycerides that need to be watched nothing else from lipid bloods.
@@tradermunky1998 i have a tough time with strict keto, but I'm getting there. My bp and heart rate go up from time to time and still take meds for both.
I needed you so much tonight to tell me it’s ok. Thank you, living alone is hard, sometimes you just need someone to tell you … your ok, you can do this,
😢thank you 🙏
I'd love to be living alone.. My son and grandsons live with me, and they won't do carnivore .They just eat garbage. They bring all that crap home . If I lived alone, I wouldn't have to put up with that😅
@meatavoreNana It's your home. You don't have to put up with it. When my son at 28 asked if he could live with me until he could get another job I told him sure. I gave him 4 months and then he had to move out. I also told him "my house, my rules." No cigarettes, alcohol or junk food in my house. I cooked all meals. Tough love works! And 25 years later, we are best of friends. He said I did him a huge favor.
@sherrys.4595, I live alone too and it takes some getting used to. Thank God for cats and dogs. I also have deer living on my property, so I'm surrounded by companions. I have a pregnant female cat if you want a kitten, that is if I can part with one when they're born. I usually get attached to them and can't give them away LOL.
Doctors are clueless.
1. It was I who requested an insulin test.
2. To the high insulin level on my labs, she said absolutely nothing. Crickets.
3. My primary doctor friend told me that the quality of my life will soon decline by my refusal to take statins for high cholestetol. That advice will be ignored
3. My doctor friend told me that my high blood pressure is a part of aging that only medicine can normalize.
3. I have five bio markers for Metabolic Syndrome. My doctor said absolutely nothing.
Why do I even go to a doctor?😮 I go to get prescriptions written for labs and provide the diagnostic codes.
Well said. My HOMA IR score is great these days. Doctor just rolled their eyes at me.

I wear a CGM. Been using it for 3 months. I know my blood sugar. I have now tried Berberine from 2 different high quality sources. I tested for several weeks. 1500 mg. per day. Did nothing to reduce blood sugar. Everyone is different.
I test twice a day my glucose before taking metformin 1000mg. If under 100, I skip the metformin. Accordingly, I have not taken metformin since July 2022
At 66, pre diabetic on metformin 10 years, A1C was 6.3 now 6.0...I stay under 100 most days. I'd love to get off the Metformin

Weight loss NP as well as having Hashimoto’s and battled weight myself. I can tell how well my patients are doing with cutting starch and sugar by their metrics, even if they have lost weight, they don’t even have to tell me. Their fat percentage and waist circumference increases despite pounds lost. I can also tell which patients have a higher propensity to insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia before even knowing any of their medical history, labs, or medications. The biggest clue is that they have tried calorie deficit, only focusing on calories and exercise, and they either didn’t lose weight or they lose a little and plateau. Then as we talk, their medical history, labs, and medications reinforces what I have already seen - prediabetes, hypothyroidism, PCOS, family history of obesity and diabetes, and so on. When they take what I teach them about diet, the effect of starch and sugar on glucose and insulin, and the role insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia plays in fat deposition, they have real success. I’m down 57lbs myself and maintaining and couldn’t be happier!

A quick mention about canola oil. I recently saw a UA-cam video of villagers/traditional farmers milling gRape seed (without the g for UA-cam). It was cold pressed with stone mills and filtered and produced a natural oil. Canola is this seed rebranded. However industrial fabrication of the oil involves a number of chemical processes to get maximum product.
Two living legends. God bless both of you for providing excellent information. And the best part of it all it’s all free.
Excellent. My brain is overwhelmed with new information. Thank you.
I heard someone said in a video you get colon cancer if you eat red meat, if I eat red meat I feel so goed. So I’m eating whole foods that make me feel goed and give me energy. Awesome video. Thank you

In mexico we cook with alot of lard, but the seed oils are getting in the way of some cooks recipes, I can taste the difference. We need to teach people to go back to cooking with lard and educating people about the harms of seed oils.

Better tests than OGGT:
•Glycated Albumin
•Wear a CGM
•Or if you are required to take a OGGT, consuming 20-50 grams of carbohydrates 6 hours before the test will wake up the beta cell insulin production.
Not more than 6 hours.
Different in mums with T1D.
This is so important! I ordered some labs independently recently using the now available online lab services, and made sure to check fasting insulin; glucose and HbA1c both normal....insulin double of optimal range! Also, that fasting insulin range is wide, and still can be overlooked improperly.
What insulin level you got?
It is recommended to be lower than 8 mlU/L and the best at 5 or under 5 mlU/L.
@@alexandruturza7131 I was at 11.9.
So so so so helpful, thank you!!!!
I enjoyed thank for sharing with us.
In N Z the GP can' t order an insulin level test, you have to go to a specialist. But here I hear it is a better and more important marker. Have to do more research.
In US you can order a fasting insulin test yourself without a doctor. I just added it to my regular comprehensive blood panel after reading that it's a better measure than A1c.
Thank You.
So much learning.
