It inspires me that these guys who do not need UA-cam money will take the time to share this level of invaluable information for nothing more than helping fellow humans. What a good thing this is!
I have used allulose but stopped due to gastrointestinal issues. It’s too bad for me, but is what it is. I have removed all sugar, starches and grains and it has changed my life for the better. Who would have thought?
Bah, that sucks! I was hoping there would be at least one sweetener that doesn't spike insulin that also doesn't mess with the gut microbiome. Oh well, guess I have to get used to not having sweet things.
@@scoobydoozoomMe too! I was enjoying Allulose /Monk fruit blend. Loved it! Now just using monk fruit but it is expensive and takes too much. I am sure that I would be better off just cutting out all sugar and sugar substitutes!
"Allulose may help to increase the abundance of beneficial bacteria, decrease the abundance of harmful bacteria, and improve intestinal barrier function" Maybe you just need to introduce it more slowly?
I don’t have a continuous glucose monitor, but I do the standard finger prick two hours after I have a meal and this is how I keep track of it and see what happens. You can’t measure it too soon after you eat- you’ve got to give the glucose time to get into the blood. Typically your blood sugar peaks about an hour and a half to two hours after you begin eating. It’s not just what you eat. It’s the way you eat. I have found that if I have eggs and bacon some avocado, in the morning with one or two Wassa crisp breads with butter, (these were recommended by Dr. Atkins years ago as a replacement for bread)-And then I will have one or two small homemade cranberry muffins with cream cheese -no naked carbs here. This keeps my blood sugar within a good range -I try to keep it between 70 and 130. Usually it’s less than 120 whenever I eat. Erythritol destroys my gut. I’ve purchased some monk fruit with Allulose. (Lakanto brand). I’m going to try it but only in moderation. I may try a half a teaspoon or so in my coffee although I do like black coffee -that’s not a problem for me. I may try it in some baked goods just to reduce the amount of standard table sugar, and reduce the carbohydrate content. I’ll have to see how that works. I also try to reduce the carb count by reducing the amount of flour and substituting with a quantity of almond flour. Godspeed to all of you out there who are trying to figure out what works best for you. Just one other thing --the comment about some doctors not wanting people to have continuous glucose monitors because then people will just worry too much. This is what’s been happening in the medical establishment. Medical knowledge is no longer the monopoly of doctors and nurses, and a lot of them don’t like that. But what they should realize is that they have contributed to this. They are gradually going to put themselves out of a job because they stopped being independent critical thinkers doing what’s best for every individual patient and started practicing algorithmic medicine. And this is because in the 1980s, the pharmaceutical industry began taking over medical education. This is not just for people. This has been happening in veterinary colleges too. While there are exceptions, most doctors have become nothing more than drug reps for the pharmaceutical companies. -they have become nothing more than prescribers. The doctor is not supposed to dictate treatment. Their job is to educate you, present the options and you decide what treatment if any you will adopt. So the responsibility now is on everybody’s shoulders to inform yourselves and go to your doctor armed with information and questions. Don’t go there like a submissive child, -don’t be afraid to respectfully challenge them and hopefully you can encourage them to have a one on one adult discussion with you instead of treating you like a child who should just obey.
Wrong. With the finger prick 2 hours after you eat, you miss the spike! My diabetes kept getting worse, the dr. Just kept increasing meds. I switched Drs and bought CGM because my insurance wont pay for it. Finally, reducing carbs, BG numbers going down as well as weight. Finally!
@@kelliez9991 So happy for you that you switched doctors. This is exactly what I was talking about -the doctors who just want to prescribe. Fortunately, I am not diabetic. I have found that for me if I take it an hour to two hours after I begin eating, I catch the highest level that’s what I’m looking for and then it starts going down after that. Godspeed.
@@kelliez9991 I am sure you know that with the continuous glucose monitor there is a delay because it doesn’t measure the blood directly but the interstitial fluid so one still has to do a finger prick periodically to check the accuracy of the monitor. That’s the other reason why I decided not to use one. But I am so glad that you finally decided to reduce your carbohydrate intake. When you were with your first doctor, did he tell you that or was he just wanting to use meds?
Where I've found allulose useful is in BBQ rubs. In standard rubs they use sugar to help the bark formation because it caramelizes. Allulose caramelizes like regular sugar so it works great as a substitute. Even though the amount of sugar you would get from your meat's dry rub is probably incidental I still prefer to keep my sugar intake minimal.
PBS's Nova needs to put this on their program. The entire world needs to hear this, understand it and IMPLEMENT all these critical measures to stop the food manufactures in their tracks. Please, get Paula Apsell's attention at NOVA and get this critical message out to EVERYONE. This is the 2nd time I have listened to this and light bulbs are going off in my brain with every concept. When I took my graduate level pathophysiology class for med school, we never heard any of these facts. I feel this alarm going off and too many people have horrific health that is so preventable. My whole practice was Primary Prevention but it was always dismissed as some pie-in-the-sky ideal that was unattainable...when it is NOT. THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.
I am a diabetic, diagnosed in 2003, and the information provided in this video is the first explanation of the function and critical necessity of insulin production and control I've ever heard. This video has been an eye-opener! Thank you, Dr. Perlmutter and Dr. Bikman, for taking the time to produce this valuable presentation.
Medical industry doesn't want u knaw that main problem of diabet is poison which gets in body through wrong food. If we ll know it , then med., pharma and food industries ll have bankruptcy
You mention the inflammation in the body. I accidentally came across a video where Clint Ober was interviewed. He is the one who brought grounding into the forefront. He and others have done scientific studies of the effect of grounding on chronic inflammation in the body. He developed grounding mats that could be used by people that can't get outside to ground with the earth. I bought one on Amazon because I had several things in my body that I could not get my regular doctors to help me with. I had swelling of my ankles and feet on and off for several years. I was told by a cardiologist just to wear compression stockings. I wasn't satisfied with that bandaid. Also since July of this year, I was having pain in my soft tissues from the waist down. It hurt anywear to touch my lower body. I wondered if I had fibromyalgia. So after using the grounding mat consistently for a week, all the swelling in my ankles and feet went away. The pain that I was feeling from the waist down totally disappeared. Plus my hemorrhoids have shrunk down dramatically. Grounding works for many disease and degenerative diseases. Check it out!!
@@richgl31 Insidious marketing pitch? Clint Ober has a whole documentary on UA-cam with the benefits of grounding. He only sells the mats for people who cannot naturally ground outdoors.
@@DivinelyBlessed718 Then he has a way of advertising his wares without bombarding on comments section. It is so obviously written by someone selling the product (hence the “insidious”)
@anastasia444 Thank You for that information. I just want the basic, to the point, Information. I wish Everyone did as You did. It truly does Help many of us who are Not Doctors and just want the Bottom Line. Thanks Again🤗
I’ll second and third that! He’s so accomplished, intelligent, well-spoken, good at explaining complex concepts to his lay audience… and on top of all of that, he’s so gracious and humble. And I love that he always stresses that he’s a husband and father, first and foremost, despite the academic and professional feats under his belt. I’m so grateful for having found Dr. Bikman and that he takes so much time to spread such valuable information that will help-or even save-so many of us. 🙏🏻
I Please understand `I am asking respectfuly is your comment because of brand names? I hope not because all products have a brand name . Or because of the Dr`s information and opinions? I just think we all need information to make better decisions concidering how sick humans are getting and even animals from sugar often times. I think this info is really helpful. @@dahof2789
Yes For Sure...! 😊👍 I experimented and figured a way to make a GREAT substitute for Häagen-Dazs Vanilla using Heavy Cream, Whole Milk, Egg Yolk, Vanilla Extract, (a pinch salt - optional) and Allulose... -70SomethingGuy
@@jarichards99utubeMe too: I have to have a little ‘Talenti Vanilla Bean’ gelato each day. Now I make my own. I put the cream mixture into candy molds and freeze. I have Vanilla, Blueberry, Peanut Butter and Chocolate, Banana and Caramel ice cream bites. Eating one hits the spot.😊
Ice cream with allulose will never be too "icy," but also it won't freeze hard enough for me. I'm going to try adding a little honey and see if that changes.
I love that these fit, healthy men share that they too struggle with food cravings and also admit that once they cave to the bad food cravings they have a hard time stopping. So thank you for sharing these things. Those of us struggling with weight loss and constantly battling any weight gain often feel like fit people have it all figured out and can't relate, which is probably untrue for most of them as well.
Smaller in stature doesn’t equate to “fit”. Also, I’m a slender person, but I crave chocolate like crazy. Sugar makes me so super sick because of the insulin resistance and inflammation that I avoid it, but I still crave chocolate items everyday. I even went a year without eating chocolate.
@@IamParalegal I use a tablespoon of 100% baking cocoa powder in my coffee every morning. I think it's good for me. It has no sugar added and very low carbs with lots of good things in it. I add a tablespoon of coconut oil too it also. I sometimes stir in a square of 85% bar chocolate. It has oil in it.
I used 1 cup of Alulose with 2 Tbs water,1 stick of butter and 1 tsp of maple walnut flavoring in microwave for 1 min and it made the best carnivore pancake syrup! When it cools, it thickens slightly like real syrup. My husband loves it. End up with about 12 oz.
This sounds delicious! I'm going to try this recipe as a substitute for maple syrup in the Master Cleanse. I enjoy doing the master cleanse but my blood sugar spikes so high from the maple syrup & I'm a diabetic.
Very interesting conversation, thank you both. I started buying allulose to use in my low-carb ice cream. It helps keep it from hardening into a solid brick. I will definitely be switching over to using more allulose in my coffee and other sweets. I am also thrilled that you covered so much on insulin resistance. Which is a subject most of my healthcare team looks at me like a lunatic for insisting that too much insulin is the root of my problems, and adding more is NOT going to cure anything! And thanks to you gentlemen, I know adding allulose to my coffee should help me restore my insulin sensitivity. I will be sharing this, to help educate my doctors. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! BTW, I have dementia coming at me from both sides of the family, so I like that allulose can help my brain use ketones and function better. I've spent 40+ years with fibromyalgia. The last thing I want to have happen is to have my brain stop functioning, like my mom's seemed to do from something like Alzheimer's disease. Again thank you for this very useful interview!
If you've never tried keto, but are open to the idea, may I recommend a 4-week stint. When I did that, I lost twenty actual pounds, saw food cravings vanish, and my sweetness receptors found processed foods overly sweet. This made it easy to transition to low-carb & intermittent fasting, helping me lose another twenty pounds over the following six months. To be clear, weight loss was not my goal, but a welcome side effect. Dietary changes improved my health considerably, improving or "curing" numerous chronic ailments. My feeling is thar we are overly and unduly accustomed to sweetness, and crutches like allulose are not helping. After recalibrating my taste buds, and sweet treats are no longer a daily thing, I find that I appreciate them much more.
see Dr Ken Berry's vids on Proper Human Diet and Ben Bickman's vids on insulin resistance . strict keto/carnivore can definitely help improve your brain functions... personal experience!
I started using allulose in my morning coffee after hearing Dr. Bickman discuss with Dr. Berry.... I could not finish my steak today... I've felt full the entire afternoon (I eat my one meal around noon). I also bought Dr. Bickman's new book. I am DEEPLY grateful to everyone who is working to improve metabolic health & champions education through their work. ❤ 🙏
I was very skeptical regarding allulose but feel much better now after watching your most excellent interview. Thank you for continuing to help us find the pathway to longevity and a better quality of life.
You two , just thank you! I have been eating a ketogenic lifestyle for 8 and a half years and I had wieght loss surgery 17 plus years ago, had i known about keto or low carb lifestyle before that surgery i most likely would have chosen differently at this point. I do have nutrient absorbtion issues but I am dilligent about what I eat and my husband also follows a ketogenic and low carb lifestyle as does one of our sons whom told me about it.I have met my perfect BMI for years now and that is my health goal and will be as long as possible, it is not about size but i think most people focus on that and not overall health. Im not trying to be rightious . I just miss those i love and have seen so much diabetes in people and animals too. I have noticed resentments for success and not eating junk when offered. Would one offer alcohol to a child or heroine to an addict ,I believe sugar is a main reason so many people get sick and inherit diamentias. Sadly both my parents had diamentias and passed away from complications there of. A very long goodbye ,I just see it ( diamentias) as a 3rd kind of diabetes. I have experienced much judgement and snarcastic remarks about not eating sugar anymore. Ironically i have been many sizes and shapes and get it that anyone gets to choose how they eat. But seriuosly i used to be a baker and wedding cake maker and i love to cook .There is a whole food world out there with low carb and ketogenic foods and replacements and wonderful recipes. I don`t understand the resentments about learning food replacements and newways of eating.just take for instance Wieght Watchers , it`s a different way of eating and learning curve ! I hope with information like this we can as humans be OPEN to awareness of what we are experiencing and we can own our part in our health ,even healthy fats and different sugar replacements for better health . My health is important to me and my money and time and self care is too. I don`t want our kids and grandkids to watch us fade away from diamentias if we can help that. You are helping with that awareness so thank you both.
Many people in my family passed away from complications of diabetes, all too soon. As a child it was very hard watching those you love succumb to to a disease that may have been prevented. They all were sugar addicts, obese, had horrible diets. I’m in my 60s and see my weight going up and have cravings for carbs that I never used to have, red flag, I know. Don’t worry over other people’s reactions to your success, that’s their problem, not yours. I would just avoid the food pushers as much as possible.
DRUG Sorcery PHARMACEUTICALS!!!! Especially in Revelation reveal this deception! Gal 5:19 Now the works of the sinful nature are evident: adultery(also with the eyes and mind), sexual immorality (child molestation, rape, incest, fornication, bestiality, homosexuality, lesbianism, LGBTQ, pornography, foreign pagan lineage, incest, prostitution, etc.), impurity, lustfulness, Gal 5:20 idolatry, PHARMACEUTICS [DRUG SORCERIES, witchcraft], hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, rivalry, dissension, divisions, Gal 5:21 envy, murders, intoxication, drunken riots, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of Yahuwah. 1. Sorcerers(taking pharmaceuticals) will NOT NOT NOT inherit the kingdom. 2. Let thy clean nutritional fruit, vegys, nuts, seeds, and cold pressed oils, be thy medicine like Daniel did. “And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their drug sorceries (chemical pharmaceuticals), nor of their whoring, nor of their thefts.” Ḥazon (Revelation) 9:21 For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, for by your drug sorcery (chemical pharmaceuticals) (medicines) all the nations were led astray.” Ḥazon (Revelation) 18:23 ONE SORE? THIS SCRIPTURE Sounds like a vac’s to me! ..... “And the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and an evil and wicked sore came upon the men, those having the mark of the beast and those worshipping his image.” Ḥazon (Revelation) He killed Asa for going to a doctor. “And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his disease was severe. Yet even in his disease he did not seek יהוה, but the physicians. So Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.” Diḇre haYamim Bĕt (2 Chronicles) 16:12-13 TS2009 He says He is our Rapha EL! And the disciple Luke never gave out chemical pharmaceuticals or shots which is sin. Without taking the mark of the beast……We wont be able to buy sell or trade without having it....or have a job or go shopping...n etc... The vac’s is definitely doing this and even the masks, which compromise our health, did this. Exodus 7:11 alludes to the mask and the hidden agendas and hidden people behind the agendas. Secret hiding. Lahat is enchantment and it means to veil or mask it, covering that hides what is behind it. Similar to a lizard with camouflaged capabilities. Hasatan is twisting around and seducing with materialism, money, food, drugs, sex, whatever way he can to get people to stay away from the covenant or to break covenant. He always has. It’s not something new like we think. Some just are like Amalek and won’t repent, also like Pharaoh. And also the others who are the “giant” leaders or kings like Solomon that allowed his head to be turned away, by the daughters of these pharaohs ( adams/men), and he never repented. And Solomon overtaxed and sacrificed his children to molech. They also did in like manner with their enchantments - The word להתים lahatim, comes from להט mor lahat, to burn, to set on fire; and probably signifies such incantations as required lustral fires, sacrifices, fumigations, burning of incense, aromatic and odoriferous DRUGS, etc., …as the means of evoking departed spirits or assistant demons, by whose ministry, it is probable, the magicians in question wrought some of their deceptive miracles: for as the term miracle signifies properly something which exceeds the powers of nature or art to produce (see also Exo 7:9). Deuteronomy 32:31-33 n 42 Gall is Roshe, which is opium n was cultivated by Sodom n Gomorrah. Which was likely the drug capital of the world....Seducing and raping. Gal (which Is the short of Galgotha, which is dancing on the head Messiah and all His believing people to destroy Him which they try but they ultimately can’t) So it’s one of the venoms n sin n evil spirit that strikes the heal but HaMashiach will stomp its head! They were likely enticed by more than sex in Numbers Chapter 25, drugs were surely involved. Even so it’s all sin that destroys. Also Gall is what they gave HaMashiach when He was cursed on the Tree for us and He rejected the drug! He is the wave offering and He conquered sin and paid our citations for disobeying the law, and throws it as far as the east to the west, that is…IF we repent and love His covenant with a circumcised heart. Obey Torah/TaNaK) (which is the SCRIPTURE Messiah said they were erring in) and desire to be His unblemished bride, Hebrew(crossed over)YsraEl! Set Apart! satan reminded HaMashiach with revenge at His suffering to His death, with the Gall of Sodom and Gomorrah and how many were destroyed by the drugs but HaMashiach will have the final victory! And even if it were just vinegar like some say, Messiah was taking a Nazarite Vow and would not drink it anyways because of His vow not being ended yet. He is High Priest and will do a sacrifice ending His Numbers 6 Nazarite Vow and come with blood already on His vesture of the sacrifice to end His Vow. He is not drinking of the grape, He is not touching the dead yet and He is not cutting His hair after His hair was taken out. We will also do sacrifice n the Holy Days in the 1000 year reign. Read Zechariah 16-21 Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food! Amen! Every herb is highly medicinal seed bearing straight from YaH! And stop eating off satans table. Obey the Scriptures. We must Obey YaH and His Holy Word! We must not be lukewarm and lawless or we will be spewed from His mouth!
Im a sugar addict. Keto never took away the cravings. Id have to fight them. Im now carnivore with NO cravings. Its so freeing when your mind isnt obsessing about food.
You've probably read that carnivore is not an effective long term strategy but great in the short term! My food compulsions stopped after I started eating sauerkraut daily. Fermented foods change our microbiome for the better. Try it and see if it works for you too?!
This was vastly enlightening and a wonderful time spent increasing my knowledge base. I do use Allulose but did not have this comprehensive list of benefits. As a retired RN, I will be better equipped to utilize this information to enhance my and my husband's health. I appreciate the information regarding the Ketogenic diet, something we have been working towards. I agree, Dr. Bikman, with your concerns regarding mental deterioration. Thank you, Gentleman, for this gem of a video. And to all those commentors regarding ice cream, it has been my lifelong hook and it is nice to know I can make some that will not destroy my health.
@@Kathleen, yes, homemade ice cream is wonderful!! I typically eat it every day. 😊 🍨 Carnivore Ice Cream * 1 quart heavy cream * 4 egg yolks * 1 cup allulose (optional, but it keeps it scoopable in the freezer and sweetens it) * 1 TBS vanilla (optional) * 4-6 TBS cocoa powder, carob powder, etc. (optional). Blend, then let spin for 25 minutes in an ice cream maker until it’s a soft serve consistency, then freeze. If you don’t have an ice cream maker, blend this until it thickens, and then freeze it. It will be icy instead of a creamy texture, but it will still taste good. I definitely prefer the creaminess though of putting it in an ice cream maker!
Thank you for this enlightening interview. After reading, and rereading, Dr. Perlmutter's books many years ago, I changed over to the ketogenic diet and had such wonderful results. Big fan.
I watch quite a few metabolic interviews. I have to say this is an outstanding interview. My hat is off to both of you Dr. Perlmutter and Dr. Bikman. The content is outstanding and the rapore, cadence and production is spot on.
I recently was diagnosed with severe high insulin resistance. I am a very small built gal and after a stroke I had started gaining large amounts of weight. My eating had stayed the same which was basically Keto. I have a lifelong eating preference of carbs. It has been easier to digest food with my IBS issues. Once I had the stroke my body gained 50 pounds in record breaking time (for me at least). That was 2018 and since then I tried to get help from my GP but they just tried different diets which failed. Fast forward to this last week I was sent to an Endocrinologist which saved my life. We thought maybe I had Cushings, but it turned out to be severe high insulin resistance. My dad was type 2 my brother at the age of 50 turned type 1. Tonight, I watched UA-cam videos my Endocrinologist told me to watch about the resistance from Ben Bikman. Dr. Bikman answered 4 main questions I was struggling with. You both brought up a new sweetener I had not heard of Allulose. I am interested in learning more in regard to losing weight and also keeping my appetite down as well as my insulin levels. I was brought up on the pink packet being my dad was type 2. I still use it today along with drinking diet MT. Dew. I don't have the food associated to my soda so I remember Dr. Bikman saying that it would be passable due to no food intake triggered. Dr. Bikman, will you explain what positive things I would receive by using Allulose? And if you could use nonscientific language, I would appreciate it, as I am no longer able to understand much of the descriptions or use of the words. Do you have a favorite BRAND? I thank you very much ahead of time for any attention you give my inquiry. Renee Lund

Just got to try the Allulose after hearing all the benefits of including it in meals when I feel like something sweet. Well.. I have to say it works as Dr Ben describes! I made brownies and made chocolate jello all from scratch, ketogenic recipes. I have been on low carb diet for over a year, loving every minute of it! But the Allulose sweetened meals definitely make you full almost immediately. One brownie with like 10 gm of Allulose in it goes the trick. Wow. Thank you for doing great job educating community on doing good things for our bodies ❤❤❤
I discovered allulose - Rx sugar at Walgreens. My craving is ice cream in the evening. I put a packet over berries and whipping cream. It works. Even with ive cream in the refrigerator, I was able to eat no ice cream despite stress, when I ate allulose over berries with heavy cream in the late evening. Instead of ice cream, that is !! 36:11
I was having severe medical problems and my husband was also have hormonal and sleep problems. I decided to get a CGM even though my fasting glucose was always fine. I was absolutely SHOCKED how much I was constantly spiking my blood sugar. I then decided to get a fasting insulin test and, no surprise, i was borderline insulin resistant. Because of being able to wear a CGM, I was able to see the wall before crashing into it and becoming diabetic and I was able to bring my blood sugar way down and drastically improve my health. Needless to say, I also insisted my husband get one and HE TOO was insulin resistant and was able to turn his health around (we both went super clean keto, heavy on meat and protein / fat) and are now healthier than ever. Thank you so much for this information. I just wanted to share this story to back up your information as I have personal experience with everything you are saying. Thank you!
If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Fix your sugar addiction instead of giving it a substitute. Lots of allulose positive side effects were brought up here but what do we know about the long term negative side effects?
People eat and drink plenty of shit that they know is harmful in large quantities, including aspartame and MSG. Because there is no toxicity data being reported on allulose, it's worth the risk for the time being. I ate solid blocks of transfat margarine as a kid. I'm not fully aware of exactly what harm it caused, if any. But I quit using it after 50 some years. You can always quit using whatever is of no personal benefit.

As a layperson, making sense of it is challenging and often overwhelming. Please bring back Dr. Bikman again for another video as soon as possible.
I go back and forth as to whether I want to try allulose. On keto for 2 1/2 years and cured my food addiction. Although it’s difficult at family and work events … but I’ve had 50 years of carb and sugar addiction, and I tell myself I’ll backslide if I start the keto breads, ice cream and cookies, shakes etc etc
If in ketosis, does it make sense to take ALPHA LIPOIC ACID 600MG to help maintain optimal cell metabolism and energy production and particularly to promote GLUCOSE uptake by the cells.
One thought for promoting CGM for more people is to treat it even like a game. Have people competing to get the 'high score' or lowest area under the glucose curve for the day and see how the entire population all the sudden becomes super healthy while having fun doing it. Managing metabolism could easily be achieved just by gamifying glucose monitoring.
Im a 66 year old with 30 years of type 2 diabetes. I am new to allulose, i have a gallon jar in my kitchen. I started it when i heard it could help mitigate my daily bloodsugar rises. So far im pleasantly surprised! Now to get my carbohydrates lowered!😊
We kicked the carb habit by eating lots of fatty meat & homemade ice cream~ made w/allulose, super easy & best ice cream we've ever had. Extra fat -without carbs- is a great way to lower blood sugar & satisfy cravings, while also shedding unwanted extra body fat. Alulose also makes an amazing cheesecake, low carb breads/cookies/cakes/pies~ point being, you don't have to give up a lot of favorite foods if you don't want to. At first, we were concerned w/low to no carbohydrates being too restrictive, yet we've found the opposite to be true. All the best to you~The Whitson's in AZ
I refused to take Metformin for my Type 2 diabetes. Instead, I slapped on a continuous blood glucose monitor, started a Keto diet and also intermittent fasting for 16 hours a day. Sometimes I do one meal a day, sometimes two. I use small amounts of Erythritol in tea a couple of times a week. I’ve reversed my diabetes, my insulin sensitivity is improving and I know what spikes it and a few hacks ie; eating a salad first if I’m having carbs, exercise like walking after eating and apple cider vinegar. All these hacks help to reduce your glucose spike. It’s working and my doctor approved it.
Most commercially available allulose is synthetically made from corn.Feb 10, 2021 You can find allulose for sale online and in some retail stores. Because it occurs naturally in very small amounts, the allulose you find packaged for sale isn’t its natural form. It has been created artificially by food, what food... You tell me now.
I’d be curious where it’s manufactured too. Remember, there was a big push for xylitol, and then looking deeper it seemed like the studies promoting it came out of China, and most xylitol was also manufactured in China , and now the negatives of xylitol are coming to light
I'm sceptical of sugar replacements. I'm type2 diabetic. Years ago I noticed using Splenda seemed to make me hungry. Ran across a study by Duke University where they started looking at Splenda and then looked at all of the artifical sweetners. Seems that all of them have the same effects. Stopped using them and products that contain them. Felt a lot better.
I substituted XYLITOL for regular sugar and developed severe gout in a few weeks. A study I saw AFTER-THE-FACT showed that xylitol can promote gout up to 800%. Looking forward to trying ALLULOSE.

Americans take a lot for granted. I'm in the uk and my mother is now type 2 diabetic , my brother has been type 1 diabetic for nearly 20 years and my grandfather was too. When I spoke to my doctor before covid i asked shouldn't i test my blood for this? His response was that we don't bother doing that anymore. You assume the whole world has their fasting blood sugar tested 'once a year'. In the UK we don't have to pay directly for our healthcare, but we still pay for it. However, we don't have a system where we can present ourselves and ask for what we believe we should have to manage our health. It works like this: 'I'm ill can I see a doctor?' no, tell us what is wrong with you and then if we need to see you then you can come in. It's better that nothing.
There’s nothing keeping you from buying your own blood glucose meter and checking your blood glucose levels for yourself. You can then calculate your HbA1c. Check out the UA-cam channel Beat Diabetes! It’s how I got my prediabetes under control. Thanks for the info. I’ve always wondered how much input an individual is allowed in their healthcare in nations that have universal public medicine.

Drs Perlmutter and/or Bickman, Please provide links to the studies on Allulose. Also, what dose of allulose is used to see the effects you describe (delayed gastric emptying, etc.) Thank you!
You do not need fancy expensive "non-stick" cookware. You just need to learn to cook with regular stainless, aluminum or cast. For non stick, get your pan hot first. It's that simple.
Don't cook with aluminum. Teflon, aluminum foil, iodized salt or other foods that use it as an anti-aging agent. It causes Alzheimer's. Steel, cast iron, diamond/granite, or copper are ok.
Wow! I have long been a close observer of research on artificial sweeteners. Of course tracking the funding is critical. Allulose is my current favorite

Thank you for the plethora of information. I will buy allulose in the near future. I saw a number of video's on the subject yours was by far the most scientific. The sugar disposition up front and on the backend was very good news as well.
I made a cocoa blend with coconut cream powder allulose and cocoa to take care of my night cravings and it worked. I didn’t know why but now I do. I am very sensitive to dairy and always loved a cup of cocoa at night and am so pleased I can do this again.
I am amazed that when using liquid allulose in something, nothing will make it solidify not even freezing. Great for icecream but terrible for anything else you want to freeze. It is very very expensive. 🇦🇺
Not approved for import by our overreaching government in Canada, so a bitty tricky to get it. Accessibility would be worth the cost for me. Also; I heard somewhere that the price is expected to drop :)

If you have been under 20 grams total carbs, fasting alot omad and extended etc, will allulose still help lowee uric acid? Been keto, fasting, about 70 days. Dropped 52 lbs, exercising alot. Discovered i have a uric acid level at 11. I was also eating a ton of sardines, had just substituted my brkfst bacon to sardines. So maybe over a week 11 or 12 tins in water . Only one week of that.. thought toe hurt from the 4 hr walking at 280 lbs per day. Then learned about sardines and gout. Went and checked, mild gout , serious uric acid problem.. no more sardines, at least 2 meals a day and im thinking stop keto so the ketones arent competing with uric acid for excretion. So now its get just enough healthy carbs to prevent ketosis for a while, purines under 300 per day, eat on an 18 6 schedule etc.. interestingly, 1 can sardines has significantly more purines than an entire 18 pack of light beer. Also spinach has more purines than sardines. I started drinking coffee to help flush it. Wasnt missing sweets at all, but recalled dr bikman mentioning allulose and his rats uric acid changes and also his anecdotal evidence that his normal uric acid levels would dropwhen he was using allulose and went back to notmal when off.. so now im looking to sweeten my coffee with allulose both as medicine to help uric acid excretion.... learned some important things regarding uric acid and bipolar 1. Uric acid levels are significantly higher for bipolar people than people on average, to the point where it can be used as a marker for bipolar when someone presents as clinically depressed the first time. Uric acid levels go thru the roof during mania. Big inpatient studies for mania show that allopurinol to treat the u a.. significantly improves all metrics of mania.. meta analysis of like 5000 people.. i got a rash from colchicine, it cleared the gout fast, but i might be allergic to allopurinol as well. Ive been manic 14 times. I just discovered all this and have know idea what my u.a levels were but they are borderline dangerous right now. I go back in to discuss it allwith my doc. In the mean time, low purine, lots of water, coffee , allulose ??? I guess i should eat a few carbs to stop ketone production..
I have finally convinced my primary care provider to write a script for a cgm. Insurance doesn’t cover but I w found Costco sells them for 40 bucks. With my history of gestational diabetes and subsequent prediabetes A1c of 5.9. I’ve lost half my body weight ( now 125 lbs) and an a1c of 5.4. My toleration of carbs is still dismal. I needed a 2 hour gtt to assess some peripheral neuropathy and it was like pulling teeth to get my pcp to simply add on insulin levels with the glucose draws. Sometimes it’s really hard d to get the care you know you need.
When did you get one from Costco? I went to their sight and they don't have them. They blood pressure monitors but no Blood Glucose monitors, at least as I could find.

The only issue with allulose is that there isn't much of it naturally occurring. So if we eat a lot of it, that might be an issue. A teaspoon in the coffee might be fine, a cake with 2 cups of it every day may not be.
Only tiny amounts occur naturally in figs, etc. But the allulose you can buy is not made from figs, it's usually fermented from corn or rice. It's easy to obtain. But it is not as sweet as sugar, and if you're trying to replace sugar in a recipe, you have to use about one-third more allulose than sugar. I find it works well for some things, not as well for others, and best when you add a tiny amount of another sugar, such as coconut sugar, date sugar, honey, or some other sweetener. I don't use "sugar substitutes" (stevia, monk fruit, erythritol, etc.) because I find they all have a bad taste. Then again, it's very good to learn to eat things that are really good while not being very sweet. I no longer sweeten things that I was taught to sweeten. Coffee is deliciously bitter, Greek yogurt is deliciously sour, etc.
I normally avoid sugar but if I want a mug of cocoa for example I sweeten it with glycine. I might try allulose instead but not sure if it’s healthier than a teaspoon of glycine?
Nope not for me I stopped eating anything with corn in it. I just stopped eating most carbs, grains and dairy. My insulin has never been high Thank God. But I only eat 2 meals a day, sometimes just 1. 16- 8 eating is the best. Fast for 16 hrs eat during the 8 hrs only. Sometimes just fasting 24 hrs can reset your body.
I am so in tune with this as I have come to a point in life that even carnivore causes gout. Gout is so complicated a disease and IMO its not good to blame it on one hormone or fructose etc. For example I had limped around for a full year and tried many things. I went pure pasta diet, chicken as only meat source and gave up alcohol for 4 months straight. Nothing changed and I was ready to give up when a lady from work started in on my diet soda consumption wherein she would say stuff like "your drinking soda!?" as soda in her culture was considered so bad and when she moved to the states she was just amazed. This went on for a month until finally she said "that soda is probably the reason you limp around like a 90yr old" and my response was "its not soda, its diet soda!" Two days later after work and before I set foot in house I stopped off at 7Eleven for my daily big gulp diet soda. This was after my typical 3 20oz diet sodas which I drank during the day. I got home and went on couch and placed my foot up on coffee table and laid back with my big gulp in hand and it hit me like a brick....she was right. I went and dumped out the soda and stopped cold turkey and 2 days later I was gout free and this lasted for 10yrs. Gout free even drinking 2 days a week but 3 days I usually got an attack.Nowadays though just one day of drinking and my gout never wavers. Its not a full on flare but the foot is just painful when I walk around and this is on carnivore. The purines are the culprit nowadays and I get relief when I eat more keto aka higher fat and lower the proteins but find it a pain as when I start a steak I don't want meal to end until at least a pound of meat is consumed OMAD. 4oz ribeye with a ton of butter is just not sustainable. EDIT; just as I posted this I remembered my huge theory held for decades that I have severe hyperinsulinemia and lo and behold it coincides with the thought that its not the protein or rather its not the purines but the still too high insulin. And I forget to mention I have reduced kidney function so I also have to deal with how insulin plays a role in the kidney holding onto uric acid. AND I was diagnosed at very early age with essential hyper tension with my BP as high as 180/120 though THAT was from massive sugar intake and nowadays it runs 140/100 as normal and for 40yrs. academic.oup.com/ajh/article/9/8/746/286813
Have you tried seltzer water with a tiny squirt of stevia? This has become my substitute for kombucha. I like fizzy drinks, but soft drinks are sickening sweet, and I needed to lay off kombucha for a while. This might help you.
@@nevillegoddard4966 gout is not caused by one factor as I said in my post. I cured myself for decades just by giving up diet soda of which I limped for a year and tried everything from no alcohol to pasta only to chicken only. Diet soda cold turkey and 2 days later I was pain free.
Allulose gives me terrible headaches, even at pretty low levels. Is there any way to build up tolerance to it, or is this something that you either can tolerate it or can’t?
After watching one of the Professor Bikman’s lectures I ordered allulose sweetener. Put it in my morning coffee along with the butter and making it really enjoyable. I’m carnivore, so no carbs. 2 grams in allulose is ok 😆 I can live with it …
I heard about Allulose a few weeks ago and wanted to try it, but it's not available here where I live in Australia yet, so I found some on iHerb and ordered it. I'm currently using Stevia and Eyrthritol, my package from iHerb arrived yesterday, so I will be mixing it with what I have left and switching over. I tried a little, and found it's not as sweet as sugar, or Stevia, so will need to use more, but the taste is better. I'm wondering how it compares regarding health benefits etc. with other alternatives.
My understanding, from limited research, is that allulose glycates proteins much like glucose and fructose (since allulose is an isomer of fructose). If this is the case, then allulose probably increases A1c. Anyone know of a study on this subject?
The A1C test can only measure glycation caused by glucose. Glycation and damage can still occur from other forms of sugar, such as fructose and lactose, but currently there is no way to know for sure as there is no test that measures these different types of glycation.
Allulose is also used by the good bacteria inside of your gut. I love to combine a little bit of starch with allulose to feed my microbiome. Surprised neither of you guys mentioned that.
It is my understanding that the body can't absorb allulose and that your bacteria don't interact with it at all. I heard that it all passes through your body and basically has no nutritional effect one way or the other. Have you heard something different?
Wikipedia says it is similar to fructose. I don't know if I have the energy to watch 50 minutes. I have a question: since fructose is said to be as bad as ethanol for your liver (fatty liver). Where does allulose lay in the regard for your liver?
@@wan2852 It's possible. But according to Dr. Bernstein, the likelihood of getting GP as any diabetic turns on how grossly your BG is elevated and for how long.

I found a lot of results from my desktop with Google: [ quercetin blood sugar ]. I've also found that Google is incredibly inconsistent, these days. But, there appears to be good data out there. Anecdotally, I think I've seen benefit from supplementing with quercetin, which is something I *rarely* say about any supplement. In my case, I'd speculate it has prevented some unhelpful inflammation, perhaps by sealing my gut.
I’ve been an advocate of yours for many years now Starting with Grain Brain. Thank you sooo much for sharing your expert findings which have changed my life in a great way.
This is cool. Among the only semi-healthy sweeteners, aulos, Stevia, leaf monk, fruit and erythritol, aulos I find is also the best for cooking in some cases, it thickens, and also sort of caramelizes. From health standpoint, that’s not a big deal, but from a cooking standpoint, it is, the other ones just basically stay like water And they work for putting sweetness in but for glazes and texture in cooking aulos is the only one that works. I’m not gonna pretend it’s like sugar but it’s the closest for sure. I’m not sure that any of these sweeteners are really good for you completely. The truth is even the taste of sweetness can trigger insulin because mentally your body thinks it’s eating sugar and prepares by releasing insulin so you still wanna be careful not to make things too sweet And I would still suggest people use these rarely. But it’s undeniable that sugar is productive to our bodies and especially when you’re used to eating carbs, your whole life, it’s incredibly hard to get used to not eating a lot of foods and having sweet foods and replacing it with Allos or Stevia leaf can make that process a little more bearable Though, I would suggest that people get healthy get used to not eating the sugar and then start to back off on these things and sweet foods in general as part of our regular diet. The brain still interprets these taste or sensations as if we are eating sugar and will still dump insulin And that’s OK occasionally but should be avoided, I try to eat the sweeter tasting foods along with regular meals, I found that snacking throughout the day, especially with sweet tasting foods can still be a problem in dealing with insulin resistance so if you combine it with your meals, then it’s releasing at the proper time and less frequently
What about allulose causing glycation of proteins, producing harmful AGEs? See study entitled "Microwave glycation of soy protein isolate with rare sugar (D-allulose), fructose and glucose"
They conclude: "To conclude, D-allulose was found to be more reactive than fructose and glucose on the glycation of SPI and reactivity of sugars could be ordered as D-allulose > fructose > glucose."
A very interesting discussion. I just met with a Bariatric physician and have started my keto journey. I met with the dietician and asked about allulose as a sugar substitute. She said she did not know of allulose and suggested mung fruit. I will have to suggest this episode to the dietician and physician. They suggested that maybe my well controlled juvenile onset tonic clonic epilepsy could be controlled by keto. Eww..I would rather stay on meds, having seizures is not fun. Thank you for this informative discussion.
This is, without question, urgently important information. I intend to make as people as possible aware of it. Thank you Dr. Perlmutter and thank you Dr. Bikman for your impresssive work.
I recently bought some and just started to use it.I would like to have it available for myself before eating. I would like to carry it with me but in the form of hard candy. So if I turn Allulose into hard candy will it change how it affects my GLP 1? Or should I just carry it as powder form ?
Excellent video. I like my coffee sweet as well, and I've been using allulose exclusively for almost a year now. Now I know what contributes to my lack of appetite. Thx.
Would love to honestly know about the taste. I've tried nearly every alt/sweetener out there for the one cup of coffee I have in the morning & they all have had a funky & noticeable (to me... like a diet soda would, bleh.. could never drink 'em) except.. Liquid splenda. Still not the same taste as sugar or a sugary type sweetened flavored creamer (which I no longer use, for years now) but close-ish. Just don't want to spend the $ on yet another pricey alternative IF it has that taste. Even monk fruit sweetener everyone raved about, I was like.... 'meh, no. Thanks.
HI, I use allulose in baking. Great interview but I wish you would have told us what it is? Its a fiber I think, from what plant etc. Also, how to use it. In other words some basic down to earth info would help put your convo in context. Thanks so much
Allulose is a form of fructose that is twisted. It is a ‘rare sugar’ naturally occurring, but has a 3d configuration that is not easily metabolized by the gut. It acts more as a signaling molecule as was discussed by Dr Bikman. It has reduced calories not no calories.
It inspires me that these guys who do not need UA-cam money will take the time to share this level of invaluable information for nothing more than helping fellow humans. What a good thing this is!

@@scoobydoozoomMe too! I was enjoying Allulose /Monk fruit blend. Loved it! Now just using monk fruit but it is expensive and takes too much. I am sure that I would be better off just cutting out all sugar and sugar substitutes!
Was it pure allulose or blend. Could have had erythritol in it.
"Allulose may help to increase the abundance of beneficial bacteria, decrease the abundance of harmful bacteria, and improve intestinal barrier function"
Maybe you just need to introduce it more slowly?
Great read.... thanks
Monk fruit has an off taste I think...the allulose is more like sugar in taste.
Good to know. Thx

I also bought Dr. Bickman's new book. I am DEEPLY grateful to everyone who is working to improve metabolic health & champions education through their work. ❤ 🙏
I was using monk fruit sweetener in my coffee but just switched to Allulose. It’s so good.
Both Doctors do their homework and can backup what they say from my experience. I’m very grateful!!!
DRUG Sorcery
PHARMACEUTICALS!!!! Especially in Revelation reveal this deception!
Gal 5:19 Now the works of the sinful nature are evident:
adultery(also with the eyes and mind), sexual immorality (child molestation, rape, incest, fornication, bestiality, homosexuality, lesbianism, LGBTQ, pornography, foreign pagan lineage, incest, prostitution, etc.), impurity, lustfulness,
Gal 5:20 idolatry, PHARMACEUTICS [DRUG SORCERIES, witchcraft], hostilities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, rivalry, dissension, divisions,
Gal 5:21 envy, murders, intoxication, drunken riots, and things like these.
“And they did not repent of their murders, nor of their drug sorceries (chemical pharmaceuticals), nor of their whoring, nor of their thefts.”
Ḥazon (Revelation) 9:21
For your merchants were the great ones of the earth, for by your drug sorcery (chemical pharmaceuticals) (medicines) all the nations were led astray.”
Ḥazon (Revelation) 18:23
ONE SORE? THIS SCRIPTURE Sounds like a vac’s to me! .....
“And the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, and an evil and wicked sore came upon the men, those having the mark of the beast and those worshipping his image.”
Ḥazon (Revelation)
He killed Asa for going to a doctor.
“And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his disease was severe. Yet even in his disease he did not seek יהוה, but the physicians. So Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.”
Diḇre haYamim Bĕt (2 Chronicles) 16:12-13 TS2009
He says He is our Rapha EL!
They also did in like manner with their enchantments - The word להתים lahatim, comes from להט mor lahat, to burn, to set on fire; and probably signifies such incantations as required lustral fires, sacrifices, fumigations, burning of incense, aromatic and odoriferous DRUGS, etc.,
…as the means of evoking departed spirits or assistant demons, by whose ministry, it is probable, the magicians in question wrought some of their deceptive miracles:
for as the term miracle signifies properly something which exceeds the powers of nature or art to produce (see also Exo 7:9).
Deuteronomy 32:31-33 n 42
Gall is Roshe, which is opium n was cultivated by Sodom n Gomorrah.
Which was likely the drug capital of the world....Seducing and raping.
Gal (which Is the short of Galgotha, which is dancing on the head Messiah and all His believing people to destroy Him which they try but they ultimately can’t)
So it’s one of the venoms n sin n evil spirit that strikes the heal but HaMashiach will stomp its head!
This was vastly enlightening and a wonderful time spent increasing my knowledge base. I do use Allulose but did not have this comprehensive list of benefits. @@Kathleen, yes, homemade ice cream is wonderful!! I typically eat it every day. 😊
🍨 Carnivore Ice Cream
* 1 quart heavy cream
* 4 egg yolks
* 1 cup allulose (optional, but it keeps it scoopable in the freezer and sweetens it)
* 1 TBS vanilla (optional)
* 4-6 TBS cocoa powder, carob powder, etc.
I have been using allulose for years now. I love it!
Glad they revealed their connection with RxSugar, an allulose brand, at the outset.
Traders Joe's have dark chocolate chips with allulose.
Thank you for this enlightening interview. After reading, and rereading, Dr. Perlmutter's books many years ago, I changed over to the ketogenic diet and had such wonderful results. Big fan.
I love people who are as honest as Dr David. I think that honesty helps others who struggle with sugar craving..
Renee Lund

It's too bad they are so expensive!
I love allulose. Thank you for the time and care you've taken to bring this definition. How do you think honey affects insulin resistance?
Thank you!
I so appreciate the knowledge and integrity of these two men. Great teaching. Thank you!
If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Fix your sugar addiction instead of giving it a substitute. Lots of allulose positive side effects were brought up here but what do we know about the long term negative side effects?
My sentiments exactly!
@@HuFlungDung2Exactly! I am very sensitive to MSG, and it’s various related forms like Maltodextrin, Citric Acid, and others zi g ne and I get a bad case of restless keg syndrome.

Thank you both very much. This video has been wonderful in so many ways including - particularly - tying the threads together (for me) of all of this new science of nutrition and health.

I like allulose for its propensity to brown baked goods and keep keto ice cream scoopable
Would love to know where Dr Bikman purchases those little Allulose chocolate bars he mentioned consuming after dinner.
You could probably make your own. Just find a fudge recipe and try the Allulose instead of using sugar.

Won't be long an we will be in the same boat.

The only issue with allulose is that there isn't much of it naturally occurring. So if we eat a lot of it, that might be an issue. A teaspoon in the coffee might be fine, a cake with 2 cups of it every day may not be.
Please don't eat cake every day, no matter what sweetener is in it 😉😅.
Maybe eat only a small piece of cake at once that contains around 1 tsp of sweetener/sugar.. and have no sugar in coffee. Problem solved😁
The issue is the cake, not the allulose.
I normally avoid sugar but if I want a mug of cocoa for example I sweeten it with glycine. I might try allulose instead but not sure if it’s healthier than a teaspoon of glycine?
Allulose is made with gmo Corn in many products .Allulose is an epimer of D-fructose isomerized at the C-3 position.
oh shoots.
Nope not for me
I stopped eating anything with corn in it.

Thank you very much for this discussion.
This went on for a month until finally she said "that soda is probably the reason you limp around like a 90yr old" and my response was "its not soda, its diet soda!"
Two days later after work and before I set foot in house I stopped off at 7Eleven for my daily big gulp diet soda.

@nevillegoddard4966 good point I forgot about that
Can someone recommend a blood sugar monitor? I'm not sure what I should be shopping for.
This was a really great, informative discussion.
Thank You DR. BEJAMIN BIKMAN and DR DAVID PERLMUTTER for the education we can all use.
I made a cheesecake with allulose. 50 minutes after having dinner steak and shrimp, and dessert glucose was up 2 points to 98! Wow.
What about over the next few hours, it might not spike but stays higher for many hours so the total area under the curve ends up the same.
@sunnyBLR the next morning Glucose 87 ketone 2.1 dinner and dessert didn't make a big difference
Was this a cheesecake that you bake or is it a recipe that you just refrigerate? I have been thinking of making one. It’s my favorite dessert.
@Keep-on-ok it's a "favorite recipe" NY style cheesecake but I used Allulose
No, but it hasn't increased my A1c at all, and I use it daily.
The A1C test can only measure glycation caused by glucose. Glycation and damage can still occur from other forms of sugar, such as fructose and lactose, but currently there is no way to know for sure as there is no test that measures these different types of glycation.
Thank you ❤ I love that there some alternative for people who are insulin resistant to at least have some desserts sometimes during the holidays
I have ice cream every night made with allulose! 😊
REALLLLLLY enjoyed this one - thanks doctors!!! 😊
I heard about that study. Have not looked it up yet.
Good point
It can also cause gas and bloating.
some allulose has 10% fibre in it

Wikipedia says it is similar to fructose. I don't know if I have the energy to watch 50 minutes.
I have a question: since fructose is said to be as bad as ethanol for your liver (fatty liver). Where does allulose lay in the regard for your liver?
I can't stop falling asleep while listening to this....
What an excellent interview! Thank you for the precision and explanations. Information packed! Very practical.
Long term diabetics usually have gastroparesis. Does Allulose ADD to the gastric emptying delay and exacerbate the problem and perhaps constipation?
That is a great question - would never have thought of it, but it seems like something affected T2Ds would want to know about any food.
Type One's are more likely to be affected/afflicted with gastroparesis.
@@wan2852 It's possible. But according to Dr. Bernstein, the likelihood of getting GP as any diabetic turns on how grossly your BG is elevated and for how long.
Quit sugar, reduce or eliminate carbs is much cheaper method to gain maintain control over your insulin resistance.

Exactly.

Great analogies about a glucose monitor m. This is exiting technology!! I love it. We should all have this device. The knowledge and education about food and what spikes insulin in our body. One of many devices coming that I’m really hoping will help us become healthier!

Dr. Perlmutter, please elaborate re: Quercitin? Many thanks, didn't realize any blood sugar implications.
Huh? Quercitin causes rise in blood sugar?
I’ve been an advocate of yours for many years now Starting with Grain Brain. Thank you sooo much for sharing your expert findings which have changed my life in a great way.
@@Handmaidenofyeshua Grain is for birds & animals, not humans.
As for being in ketosis, is there anything wrong with taking supplemental ketones?
What about allulose causing glycation of proteins, producing harmful AGEs? See study entitled "Microwave glycation of soy protein isolate with rare sugar (D-allulose), fructose and glucose"
They conclude: "To conclude, D-allulose was found to be more reactive than fructose and glucose on the glycation of SPI and reactivity of sugars could be ordered as D-allulose > fructose > glucose."
THIS. How exactly is allulose removed from the body or does it all go into AGEs???
Thx.
. .does allulose contribute to your weight loss ? thanks (in advance) for your reply 🍃
