Gett'n Down N' Dirty: Boat Jobs in Exotic Places

The thing about owning a boat is there is always a laundry list of projects to get done. Some are more urgent than others and some you save up for a rainy day…literally.
This week are digging deep and pounding out all the big jobs we have been putting off for months so we can get off the dock and start exploring Grenada properly.
When we left Carriacou and started heading to Grenada our windlass bit the biscuit. I know we probably could have figured out a way to lower and raise the anchor manually, but that wasn’t going to happen. After tirelessly trying to repair it we had to come to the realization that the only thing left was replacement.
As you know our 25hp Yamaha outboard is Josh’s baby. Keeping it up and running is super easy as long as we take proper care of it. So, it’s full service time. Do you Yamalube?
Nobody likes going up the mast, well on this boat anyway. But sometimes you just have to get in that chair and go for it. We have been without a wind instrument since we went up the ICW in 22. To finally have our Garmin GWind installed is going to be a game changer and make our sailing experience so much more enjoyable. At least on our necks from looking up the mast constantly.
