- After finishing chartering, I wanted to 'go with the wind' and explore. Given the direction of the wind, my options were limited, but I decided to go off the beaten path. This is only the first half of my week, but it was one of the best weeks of my life and I hope you can enjoy it with me.

Hey, I thought we'd pony up a bit more monthly so I hope it helps. Previously I mentioned making sure you are tethered and your response was appreciated. I raised two daughters who I treasure and who are taking on the world. Also, I am a retired Air Force fighter pilot so one extreme (diving) to the other (flying). Hang in there, there are a lot of us flying top cover for you.
I admire someone like you who follows her dream and strong enough to handle the trials!
I think it takes a very special kind of person to be out on the open seas alone. You are dynamic and ridiculously brave.

AS a person that boated or worked on them for years I have kept Plastic Ties (Tie Raps) of different sizes as well as long and wide one. There good for Hose clamps or quick repaires on lots of different. today there is velcro ties in different colors and lengths too. Just something to keep in mind is to have available for quick repairs.
I’m just getting back into sailing after several decades on land. I’ll be getting a smaller boat but these videos offer more than just a pretty girl on a sailboat. Thank you Miss. I’m realizing how much I forgot and need to know. On a positive note I already have the Cat💞

Another great video! So many people want to hate on Starlink because Elon has become the new boogeyman. I spend 3-4 months a year camping and surfing in remote Baja, Mexico where there's no Internet or cell service. Last trip, I met a few who had Starlink and it's awesome. I'll be ordering mine next month so I can get accurate surf and weather data when I'm out in the middle of nowhere! Stay safe and have fun!

Hello Lauren, about your autopilot. Check this setting and make sure to set to Normal.
Select Menu > Setup > User Autopilot Setup.
Power Mode
Sets the device power mode to normal or economy mode. Economy power mode allows you to set the percentage of power used to run the autopilot.

Did the same thing in my mid 20’s long before social media in the 1990’s. Lived at sapphire marina running day charters on my Newport 41 but also lots of fun sailing all over especially in the off season . Best of luck in your endeavors . You will be challenged as I’m sure you’re finding out already keep in the machine going is challenging at the least . Being solo the most important things are your engine and your auto pilot when you lose either one things start to become very unpleasant quickly.

Great video, creating you time. We have been Hydrovane since 1983, preferring the heavy weather setting in all conditions, steering a better course with the vane mounted off-center. Talk to Hydrovane about mounting options. They have solved a lot of installation problems.

The one invaluable asset you have is Mako. He'll keep an eye on you and look to keep you on an even keel emotionally. Cats are amazing at that. They know when things aren't right with you and be there to help. Also know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Fair winds and following seas sweetie...

If the hull is designed by very lucky people, and the sails are properly cut so you can trim them just right (and a real sail master is a miracle to behold) then you can learn to balance the boat on any point of sail, and she'll steer herself in any steady wind, with no one at the helm.
I've seen very few boats that can do that, one an older Bob Perry design, and when he was asked how he got it so perfectly balanced, at a time when hull design was all manual draftsmanship, he bluntly replied "I got lucky."
Yes, it is that hard, but a beautiful thing to watch a boat steer herself with just balanced trim!
You are the Queen of The Bahamas. The best guide today. There is value in this somewhere. You love it so much I think you should consider circumnavigating the Bahamas forever.

Not sure how your sailing video came up because I dont normally watch them. However, the more I watched the episode the more I realized your boat looks very familiar!!
Ive got a 1992 50ft Oceanis. Yours is a 1993 I think.
The best thing I ever did on my boat (Moonshadow) was remove the table in the cockpit. I purchased a portable boat table to use when needed (easy to set up and take down). Theres so much more room to maneuver in the cockpit now. Love it!!

Lauren, can you imagine what your life would be like if all the little issues on your boat were fixed? I guess when they are happening, they don't seem all that little. Great episode. I was along with you as you were sailing. Outstanding footage, both on the boat and from the drone. The only way it could be more real for me would be if I turned a fan on and occasionally splashed some water in my face. 😅😮😂 But seriously, I was glued to the screen and hanging on every word you said. Just got my issue of Latitudes & Attitudes yesterday. I have found it to be a great asset, because it has a lot of the equipment that is on your boat, in the advertisements, so I can visualize some of your trials. Honestly I was breathless watching this one. I have a house, 2 camps, properties etc and there will always be something needing to be repaired, thats just life, nothing last forever. My boats also, always something going wrong. Just keep on repairing and live life till the end.
You need to tighten the jib halliard. This will keep the sail from stripping out of the foil. It will have a better shape and not wrinkle when rolling up.
