Medic and amateur fighter here. Left hook hits liver, right hook hits pancreas. If you aim lower and to the left of the solar plexus you can hit the pancreas pretty square on which is one of the most sensitive organs in the body. Ruptures incredibly easy in comparison to the liver and will very quickly crumble people if that happens. Bas Rutten had an amazing fight where he TKOd someone with a palm strike that ruptured the other guys pancreas.
The pancreas does not rupture easily, its a pretty rare injury. It usually takes a MVC or significant fall. The pancreas has to compress pretty hard against the spine and that takes a very fast deceleration of a very forceful object. The liver and spleen are much easier to rupture.
Good to hear input from a medic! Never felt a painful pancreas or spleen shot myself. It’s not common in boxing to see someone get put down with a right hook. When it happens, it’s rare and from a very powerful shot. The only example I can think of at the moment is Roy Jones Jr vs Virgil Hill, but of course that was going to hurt! The man got a rib fracture from that monstrous shot.
@@coachpillowfists the spleen shot is definitely very rare. The liver is kind of a huge organ that takes a lot of space so there’s just more of a chance to hit it with proper setup.
This video I made for beginner basics was 2 years ago but should put you know the right track: Boxing Basics: Stance, Footwork, Jab for Beginners ua-cam.com/video/uZaXgfweGyw/v-deo.html
Honestly you need to join a decent gym. I spent some time learning off youtube but when I came to a gym, I had a ton of bad habits that takes good coaches to recognize. Plus a big part of boxing is real experience moving around while training even if you are new hitting pads with the coach
Something i was super curious about was how about for southpaw vs orthodox since it's not just the mirror but the body is also asymmetrical and how about if its a right handed aouthpaw
I posted a response to this, but idk why it's not appearing. UA-cam is glitching out 🤔. But basically my response said that if I'm an orthodox fighting a southpaw then I definitely have a better probability at hurting the southpaw with a right hook to the body. it will not be as prominently successful as a left hook, but either way I strongly encourage to utilize the right hook to the body. Even if it doesn't directly hurt the opponent, it will surely open up opportunities for other punches.

I thought right hook hits the spleen? Either way right body hooks can be really painful and I’ve seen dudes get dropped and TKO’d to that punch.
@@PartyCrasher04 you are correct.

Yeah people not fighting anymore. They have a different way of aiming nowadays.
🤷🏽♂️
no, man. I hit many guys on that right body side and they still go down. You just have to use 3 x the power, than to the liver. They go down too.
Aim for the pancreas
