If she was off duty, why was she issuing "verbal commands"?. She's a civilian at that point. This person was no threat to her. She has not right to see him as a threat, if he is not one. Off duty, she has no right to issue verbal commands, especially because there was no crime committed.

Also with that being said, I have taught my children that everywhere you go and everything you do doesn't just affect you. It effects all those you represent, rather it be your gender, your race, your religious belief system or any other belief system, sometimes even your place of work etc. So when people choose to act out of hate or love it represents others. It's never good to misrepresent your people rather it be gender, race, religious belief etc because that hurts them.
Most people of color I know are very kind, caring, loving people. Many of them are upset when misrepresented. If you hate whites, it's a free country you're entitled to hate whoever you want to hate. Wouldn't it be better not just for you but for all you represent to not hate a whole race due to the actions of a few. It's okay to protect yourself I'm not saying in anyway don't protect yourself. Hating a whole race of people due to the actions of a few can only harm you and those you represent why do that to those you care about.

Sheryll Beaty when a mistake cost someones life how can you rectify that mistake? If i mistakenly park in your parking space if could easy move my car. But when you mistakenly shoot and kill someone in their own apartment, that is not a mistake that is called MURDER.
When I lived in an apartment, tired or not, I knew my floor because of the look, smell the culture or the overall feeling of the environment. When I visit my friends who live in apartments where every floor looks the same, and perchance I so happen to go to the wrong floor, something eventually clicks to alert me that I'm on the wrong floor. I'm not trained in observation and I don't have the luxury of remembering details like a "trained PO is required to have. Even if she hand a million things in her hands her load wouldn't impede on her ability to see distance. So based on those two logical points, her story falls apart.
Also based in pics, once the door is open, light pours into enough space to illuminate enough area for her to recognize that she was at the wrong apartment and finally, if it was so dark, how is it that her shot was so direct to know it's a man, unless he spoke? And if he spoke, why did she kill him?
Are there any real scenarios where her story could be plausible? I can't think of anything.

Sorry lady, you may be a law abiding citizen. However if you were in that group of people protesting and got peppered sprayed then perhaps you and your fellow protesters shouldn't have been trying to get up on the interstate to disrupt traffic. That had nothing to do with you being black. The Police were there to keep the protesters from going up onto the interstate for your safety and the safety of those who are driving on the interstate. Disrupting Traffic like that is against the law.
They were waiting for the barricades, (horses you seen shortly after) that arrived a few moments late. What were the police to do allow you and the protesters up on the interstate to disrupt traffic because you want to make the news. Any of you could have suffered a lot worse than pepper spray if they let you guys do that. Someone or several someones could have gotten hit by cars and killed at the worse seriously injured at the least. It would have been your own fault for going up on the interstate.
If you and the other protesters have gone on the interstate and got hit by cars I wouldn't have felt sorry for you. I would have felt bad for the people driving the cars though because they would have been made out like a villain when all they were doing was driving then a bunch of crazy people got on the highway.
Tell the truth lady, the police didn't have a problem with you all protesting. They did have a problem with you all attempting to go up onto the interstate. Maybe by protesting you didn't break the law, you maybe a wonderful caring person. The moment you and the other protesters ignored the warning of the police and attempted to go on the interstate you were starting to go against the law. Had you made it onto the interstate and disrupted traffic it is a definite violation of the law.
Not to mention the protesters were trying to push their way through 5 police officers. Several protesters against 5 police officers. Give me a break... You weren't that innocent. If you had gotten on that highway and someone got hit by a car you would have probably blamed the police for that too.
Penny Ragan desperate situations call for desperate measures. The entire city of Dallas should have joined in the protest. A young man with a bright future ahead of him was mindlessly gunned down in his own home for no apparent reason. If you cannot understand that, then your humanity may truly have eroded and that can never be helped
misidee - I do understand that an innocent young man has been gunned down for no apparent reason. I also agree that desperate situations call for desperate measures. Tell me just how putting other peoples lives at risk would help this.
What I am talking about is the last lady that was talking about getting the pepper-spray in her face. I'm stating if she was in the protest where they were peppered sprayed that's not because they were protesting, or because they were black. It was because they were trying to get up on the interstate in which at the least would have disrupted traffic, in which was the intent in order to get the attention of the media. At the worst in which could have very well happen, she and her 6 year old son that she says she's trying to protect as will as other protesters could have gotten hit by a car from oncoming traffic, or oncoming traffic could have swerved to miss them and harmed or killed themselves.
Tell me how it's inhuman of me to not want to see these people killed or her six year old son killed because they wanted to get up on the highway to disrupted traffic to get media attention. Desperate means doesn't mean you put yourself your six year old child and others lives at risk.
I applaud her asking for help and asking what can she do. That's okay, That's understandable. If they want justice wouldn't it be smarter to realize that the family is the one that can seek justice for their son's death. Why not all get together and take up a collection to get a good lawyer with an outstanding reputation to represent the family and go to court. Open a go fund me account for the family.
If you're wanting this kind of stuff to stop then wouldn't it be better to. No. 1 work with the police force to try to find out the cause of these problems and come up with a solution. Going down to town hall and getting the attention of the higher ups yes is a good idea. I agree with that, I'm with you all on that.
But taking a group of protesters and placing peoples lives in real danger by going up on the interstate to get media attention is foolish.
So if it makes me inhuman because I can't support the idea of a bunch of people putting their lives and the life of ones own 6 year old child at risk, then fine I'm Inhumane. If what she is talking about is her and her 6 year old child at that protest, (I'm not the one on city hall I'm talking about the one on the street). If she was about to go up onto an interstate with that innocent child to make a stand and put his life at risk like that perhaps she's the one he needs to be protected from.
If there's an incident I'm unaware of where she got pepper sprayed in the face that didn't involve risking her child then please thus inform me.
Other than that, there are smarter, safer, and more effective ways to make a positive change.
