I found your channel about three months ago and have fallen in love with you two. And at 67 years old, you are taking me on such a great ride down memory lane. As you discover for the first time such great classics, you pull me back into my past. Thank you for being you!
Well said Larry, well said
Same here except it annoys me how they keep pausing and interupting the songs.. I really wish they would leave their reactions and comments till after the songs have finished
Ditto! I am 74 and am having the same experience
@petejones879 ....they have to pause the songs, or they will be taken down by the artist or record company. They have rules they have to follow.
Yeah , I'm 55 years old soon. It's always a true pleasure to see younger people take in music from the past or our youth, no matter what genre it is. That's the power of music and arts, it doesn't matter what age people are. Just have an open heart and feel the vibes, than we can overcome everything in life ;) .
If you enjoy Neil Young, check out his song "Harvest Moon". Amber will love it.
Makes you want to slow dance, with your girl.
Great choice!
It’s a favorite!
I think she will love it too. Such a beautiful song.
NEIL’s best ever from the 1970s he reinvented himself with this 1992 disc. Ever song is a classic #NeilYoung is a #LEGEND
As a 64 YO woman, it gives me great joy to witness your appreciation of my beloved music ❤️
Neil Young is SOULFUL. He sings from deep in his heart and he let's himself be vulnerable. He's an original that nobody has tried to copy because you can't.
Very similar to Bob Dylan actually
@@tb8183 Both wrote/write great lyrics, however Neil has a much better singing voice. I prefer Dylan's songs song by other artists, Richie Havens, Jimi Hendrix others.
He's never dressed flashy, just looks like an average guy. But then you hear his voice and realize Young is special
I just love the two of you. True hippie spirits. He plays from his soul and it touches ours. One of the few with that gift.
Totally Agree! They are Both Very Relatable , Kind, & I Enjoy Their Enthusiasm For The Great Music I Grew Up On. ❤❤❤
"...and I'm getting old"
Neil Young, age 25.
It was a very smart song for someone of his age to write
From Algeria, i think Neil young isn't just a singer or musician but an amazing artist one of the greatest.
I grew up with this generation of artists (born in 1954) and hearing Neil Young for the first time was like he filled a hole in my world that I didn't even know I had...
In this song, the harmonica adds melancholy for me.
This is one of my favorite songs ever. You should hear "Our House" or Suite; Judy Blue Eyes." Amber-if you like hippy music, this is it! There is a song on the album about their time at Woodstock. It's called "Woodstock."
Neil Young is one of the greatest songwriters of the last 50 years.
That harmonica holder was invented by a genius named Les Paul. Les also invented the solid body electric guitar, multi track recording, echoe, reverb and pretty much everything you hear in music recorded after 1950. He was loved by ALL the guitar greats. He was also an incredible player. If you want to react to Les, there are many videos.
When I was a kid I saw it in the Mario movie and thought it was a gimmick, never realized it would be a big part of one of my favorite songs of all time
May I suggest Neil Young's Harvest Moon....great harmonica in that great song also.
One of my favorites. I think they'll like it better than the previous 2 they've heard.
Yes, this is one of my favourite songs by him.
Beautiful song.
YES!
It's a little melancholy, isn't it? I'd have to go with The Needle and the Damage Done. No harmonica, but a better song.
Never liked Neil Young or CSNY when I was a kid. It took me growing up and getting older to appreciate just how great they were and how Neil Young is magic.
The harmonica evokes emotion because it cries. Love that you love the music we loved so much back then.
Neil Young is a Legend. Great rabbit hole to dive into. Whether it’s solo or with CSN, he is special.
Or crazy horse or any of his contemporary groups
Now let Neil Young rock you!
“Down By The River”
“Cowgirl In The Sand”
“Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black)”
Great suggestions Brett G
Cinnamon Girl!
There's q lot of great Neil Young out there. He's got a new record out and his voice is still great.
Amazing rendition! He is one of the biggest stars of his generation, truly.
This song was number one on the charts in the USA and Canada in 1972. he was in groups like Buffalo Springfield or Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. He is one of the most influential artists in American popular music. He has released more than forty albums and has played all the sticks of music, folk, rock. hard rock. Recommended songs, "Helpless", "Harvest Moon", "Like A Hurricane", "Comes A Time", "Hank To Hendrix" "The Needle And The Damage Done", Rockin' In The Free World" etc. Saludos y me suscribo.
esas canciones son bastante tipicas, deberias haber recomendado southern man, ambulance blues o powderfinger, entre muchas otras que tiene el gran neil young, uno de mis artistas favoritos, fácilmente tiene 100 canciones que son obras maestras
Neil Young is an amazing artist playing equally well as acoustic and electric with a band. If you like his solo acoustic/harmonica, you'll love his album *Silver & Gold.* For electric, check out *Rockin In The Free World.* You'll see why he's called the *Godfather of Grunge.*
The way this man that can do guitar and hermonica is Amazon for sure a rare talint don't know any other band person that can do it
@@stewartmatthews1551 Bob Dylan is usually the first person that comes to mind for me, then Neil Young.
@@scapito that is true Bob Dylan I almost forgot about him man there are so many artest in the classic rock
Neil is a musical genius. I saw him in concert and he gets lost in his music and brings you with him on that journey. Please listen to Sugar Mountain, Down By The River, Cinnamon Girl, Cowgirl In The Sand.
And then to Joni Mitchell's "The Circle Game", which is an answer song to "Sugar Mountain".
normally don't care for live versions, but this was a knockout. so soft, but intense at the same time. He has a high timbre twangy voice that is uniquely him. luv luv this.
❣❣❣ *Neil Young's voice to me, has always felt like a cozy, warm blanket, on a beautiful autumn day* ❣❣❣
...under a Harvest Moon!
I saw him at Farmaid in 2002. A completely acoustic set with just Neil, guitar, piano and harmonica. One of the best concert experiences I’ve ever had… and I’ve had A LOT.
I am happy to had the chance to see him once in Köln(cologne) in germany several years ago. Man what an experience. What i realy liked, was the mixture of the people at the concert...
And yea it was a realy great experience....i happy to have seen several of those legends live...its such a good memory...
The songs he plays is personal to him and he transfers that to you so well.
I was a kid in the 70s and this song was one of my first memories. I was sitting cross-legged in our back sun room and it was playing out of the family stereo system. Dust motes floated in the rays of sunshine beams steaming through the window as I tried to understand the lyrics. It really takes me back. I loved that you closed your eyes and swayed throughout this performance :D
There is a version of Neil Young on a organ and harmonica, when he's playing "like a hurricane". It's incredible 🤘🏻🔥!!
He always surrounded himself with the best singers. Linda Ronstadt, Nicolette Larson.
Joni Mitchell, Cass Elliot, Crosby Stills n Nash
Also, James Taylor on the banjo and background vocals on the studio album.
@@MrJlc3366 yes James Taylor forgot about him
@@MrJlc3366 iirc Carly Simon also sang backup on the studio version of this one
Nicole the Larson was such a beautiful singer.
Neil Young is my favorite artist. There are so many good songs to choose from. Try Cinnamon Girl next!! :)
Hey Hey, My My is like the anthem of rock, even though it’s a slower song. “Rock and roll will never die!!”
@@futurereflections4097 I like My My, Hey Hey as well. The sped up, faster version! "Rock and Roll is here to stay!!"
Harvest Moon is a great song for you two lovebirds!!Love Neil!!
Crosby, Stills and Nash are a great group. They are even better when they are Crosby, Stills, Nash and YOUNG.
When I was in college I learned to finger-pick his song 'The Needle and the Damage Done.' Since I'm not really musical, I did it by memory with a friend teaching me. To this day, it's the only song I can actually play on acoustic guitar. You should definitely follow the rabbit hole. I don't think you realized he was in the Buffalo Springfield when you reacted to 'For What It's Worth' (hey, children, what's that sound ...). He was with Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young for many fantastic songs.
People sleep on his work in Buffalo Springfield: Mr Soul, Expecting To Fly, Broken Arrow, I Am A Child.
and yet another one of my favorites.. the needle and the damage done.. think I'm going to have to listen to that now too! Love these suggestions, bringing back memories for me!
..same, I taught myself that song, noodling around one day, I thought...' hey, that sounds like TNATDD from Neil, Voila! nimps. great tune to play, sounds so good.
Neil is Canadian songwriter, singer, plays harp, acoustic and electric Guitar 🎸. He is a throwback to folk singer, beat poet, protest song and evolved into a great rocker on his own and with Bands Buffalo Springfield, witn Stephen Stills, then to CSNY Crosby aStills Nash and Young. Listen to some electric like Mr. Soul. And all the CSNY and NJ their protest songs were big for me as I was teen college age when the came out about Political State of affairs especially in The song Ohio about the Kent State Campus shootings of 4 students by National Guard, or For What it's Worth with Stephen Stills lead singer . They performed great songs at Woodstock including the song Woodstock written by another Canadian Miss Joni Mitchell who is great songwriter singer. Ie Paved Paradise to put up a parking Lot, Big Yellow Taxi, many more. Neil Young with his band Crazy Horse wrote and played songs at a rapid rate in 60s 70s, 80s Neil then created different bands to other music but has always been a one man band, literally playing harp, guitar piano and drums with his feet. To a guest with great CSNY from folk, love, protest, blues, ballads, and Rock all of it. He was one of originals with Willie Nelson who started Farm Aid to raise money for farmers and Live Aid, Sid for several causes and countries when needed. He has to this day given to charity performed for charity. He can be temperment all, with those he has played with because he is at a genius level of music, but will play in public then run home to his ranch to hide out and write, but he is I think most comfortable on a stool in a circle of listeners gathered around him. Though he has played to millions in crowds with CSNY as well. He is a killer guitarist and piano player, banjo, etc. Like one of his songs ...Long May You Run...
Neil Young.. He is like a cross between Guthrie, Dylan, with Hendrix thrown in on guitar, can be hard edge, and yet sweet, on the front porch too.
Great history and great description of Neal Young!
Thanks 🇨🇦. Dig it! 🤠🇺🇸✌️🥞
Harvest Moon will melt your heart. Unplugged live version is a must. Enjoy!
I remember it was #1 on the charts for weeks and weeks, and the album was huge! Beloved Neil!
RSR family: His "Cinnamon Girl" and "Southern Man" are next for you! This song recorded was not long after his time with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Single released January 1972, before the album 'Harvest' came out in July 1972.
Eric Clapton's "Layla" on 'Unplugged' is terrific!
I just love his performance at The Last Waltz.
💯
Young wrote this in 1971 after he suffered a back injury that made it difficult for him to play the electric guitar, so on the Harvest tracks he played acoustic. Despite the injury, Young was in good spirits (possibly thanks to the painkillers), which is reflected in this song. The next few years were more challenging for Young, as he suffered a series of setbacks: His son Zeke was born with cerebral palsy, his friend Danny Whitten died, and he split with his girlfriend, Carrie Snodgress. Can you please react to Cinnamon girl by Neil Young
That is the heart and soul of American music. Well, North American. Absolute Masterpiece. How many people in the history of modern music can actually do that ? Sit down without accompaniment, play two instruments, sing, and it's THAT. Very, very few.
This clip is from Neil Young performing in 1971 live on the British Broadcasting Corporation. Neil Young has such a deep and varied body of work over the last 52 years, his first album was released in 1969. So many good songs to pick from: Down By The River, Cinnamon Girl, Southern Man, L:ike A Hurricane (my personal favorite), Hey, Hey, My, My (Into The Black), Powderfinger, This Note's For You. Check out his appearances over the years at Farm Aid. Neil's music varies from acoustic guitar songs like this live performance, to straight up country music, to guitar-driven hard rock.
Great recommendations. Let me also suggest After the Goldrush and +1 to Down By the River. Tonight's the Night is another one for the list. And also explore Crosby Stills Nash and Young (CSNY).
It may have been broadcast on bbc
But it’s recorded live at Massey hall Toronto 1971
Neil Young is a national treasure in Canada. 💯 He's also an electric guitar god so you have to play those as well. Any song on his 1969 album "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" will do. My favorite song: "Cowgirl In The Sand". The solos on this song will make you weak in the knees.
There it is!! My favorite Neil Young song EVER!
I was looking through the comment to see if anyone else would request it instead of all the played out radio “hits” people usually request, and you nailed it spot on!
“Cowgirl In The Sand” is just an awesome track all around, and really showcases his unique guitar playing for a proper rock song instead of another slow ballad (though his ballads are always amazing!) and much more pronounced than something constructed to be short and concise like “Cinnamon Girl” which is great, but as simplistic as “Wild Thing” by The Troggs.
Agree with Cowgirl in the sand. The whole of the album is excellent.
Cowgirl In The Sand, an awesome guitar ensemble. One of my favourite Neil Young songs
Neil isn’t just a wonderful artist; he’s a wonderful human
Neil Young is an incredible musical artist, songwriter and human being. He is still making great music today. The more you look into his body of work, the more that you will find your inner self as he touches your soul. I would highly recommend not only his acoustic stuff but also his electric stuff like "You are like a Hurricane," "Rockin' in the Free World," "Ohio," and others. In a quieter vein, check out "Long May You Run." You will not be disappointed. "Barn" is his latest album. Recorded in an historic barn that he restored in Colorado. I love the man and his music.
One of the BEST songs ever written!!! Neil Young has a relaxed old soul!!!! I remember when this came out....I'd lay on the floor between the speakers and just let him take me on a sweet ride!!! Love him!!!🎵🎼🎶🎤🎸🥁💜💜💜💜
Laid with your head between the speakers-took me!
Would love to hear you do some of Neil's more electric stuff, like Rockin' In The Free World.
YES😎❤!!!!
Especially with Pearl Jam in concert in Toronto😍🤯!!!
One of the all time greats........
One of my favorite songs by him is "Only Love Can Break Your Heart." He has a great LP !! ~ from the 'old hippie chick'
Try out Neil’s “The Needle and The Damage Done”. Beautifully heartbreaking. Another singer-songwriter you might want to check out is Elliott Smith. “Between the Bars” and “Twilight” are 2 excellent ones to start off with.
I would love to see an Elliott Smith reaction.
@@douglaschoe6723 oh hell yeah... so tragic and so gifted like many artists
One of my favorite voices. You need to hear his After the Gold Rush and then listen to Dolly Pardon,Linda Ronstadt and Emmy Lou Harris version unworldly
Dolly Parton…☺️
Great comment Liz.
Absolutely do both versions. The Trio version has a video on UA-cam from The Late Show March 24, 1999 that is fantastic. This one also features a really cool instrument called an Armonica, or Glass Harmonica, that was invented in part by Benjamin Franklin!
The harmonica part for this song is one of the easiest to learn. So pretty and immediately effective.
It is so exciting to see ya'll hear this song. It has been one of my faves of his for many many years.
Neil Young was also a member of Crosby Stills Nash Young. Helplessly hoping is a beautiful song.
"Helplessly Hoping" is a beautiful song, but it's from before Neil Young doing the trio. "Helpless" would be my recommendation from CSNY.
Neil Young has some harder stuff to. Rockin'in the free world and my personal favorite Cinnamon Girl.
React to Neil Young - Down By The River
64 years old, I grew up on this music, and Neil Young is one of my all time favorite artists. If you want to hear a more electric guitar oriented Neil Young, I recommend Cortez the Killer. Everytime it comes on the radio, I crank it up. This song had been covered by quite a few bands, and one of my favorite covers is Warren Haynes playing it with Dave Matthews at Central Park. I'm not ashamed to say that version tears me up as the guitar just screams with emotion. Neil Young's version, or the previously mentioned Warren Haynes version with Dave Matthews, I recommend either one.
"Melancholy" is the vibe that Neil adds with the harmonica. It makes his storytelling seem more serious and honest.
He's a stunning a talent. And when he plugs in Old Black, Neil is equally capable of blowing the roof off. And for what it's worth, Neil performed on MTV Unplugged. Another great singer songwriter with a dramatically different voice is the great Tom Waites. Waites and Neil mined their greatness in the 70s and Waites's Nighthawks at the Diner album is a masterpiece but I would encourage you to start "I Hope I Don't Fall in Love with You" from his equally masterful album "Closing Time".
Neil Young has some truly great rockers, too. Check out a live version of "Like a Hurricane." I would love to see the reaction to Tom Waits -- good call! Talk about unique talent.
''...and for what it's worth...'' see what you did there, nice.
Tom Waits is a great suggestion. "Heart of Saturday Night" is a good start. I also like his later work quite a bit including "House Where Nobody Lives" and "Hold On." As far as more Neil Young - "Harvest Moon" and "Cortez the Killer" among many more.
Totally! One of the greatest acoustic solo artists of all time happens to be the Godfather of Grunge too. A lot of folks reacting to Neil are completely unaware that this man rocks out with the hardest legends of all time too.
Tom Waites is awesome, AND he's an actor. 💜💙💗🌟
Neil Young "Harvest Moon" and "Unknown Legend" ❤️❤️❤️
Great one from Neil, who you can not categorize. Here are the songs showing his versatility and greatness; Like a Hurricane,Southern Man,Like a Hurricane, Harvest Moon, The Needle And The Damage Done,Hey Hey My My,And Mr. Soul. Many more by this legend among legends!
I Love Neil Young! Long may you run!!!
the harmonica here adds a melancholy feel to the song. this was part of one of the best albums to come out in the 1970's "Harvest". It is just one big hit after another. it included the song you reviewed "old man" and it also has a song most will not check out but it is a very important song called "The needle and the damage done".
My favourite Neil Young & Crazy Horse song is 'Cortez The Killer' which really showcases his ability to convey emotion with his electrified music and still shows his story-telling ability.
The studio version of Cortez the Killer is OK, but the live version from Farm Aid 2017 is better. It has superb-quality audio and visuals:

I really want to share with you, my FAVORITE reactors, how much Heart of Gold means to me. A dear friend of mine loved the song and we always played it when we hung out at our favorite little bar. He was a wonderful friend whom I claimed as a brother. Heartbreakingly, he found life too hard at 22 and left us. The day I found out was so awful and when my husband and I retired for the night, I looked to the next room and saw him sitting in my chair. He turned his head toward me and said, “It’s okay, [my name].“ This song is my eternal remembrance of him. I hope you found your heart of gold, my friend.
When he does his electric set, he is a beast.
Neil Young is known for his individualism. One musical path he explored for years that confused many of his earlier fans is when in the 80's he explored electronica including synthesizers, extreme feedback, and vocal processing. One of his more beautiful songs of his 'Trans' period was "Transformer Man'. It would make a great reaction video. The lyrics are pure Neil Young but hearing it performed in an 80's electronic dance music style is startling!
I love Trans! It's one of my favourite albums by him!
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I loved the Trans album.
Another one that threw people off was his rockabilly/doo wop phase with him and his backing band the shocking pinks. I loved it. Others, not so much.
@@armorer94 Absolutely love Wonderin' with the Shocking Pinks. Fun video. He had a lot of great eras.
I love “Sample And Hold “ from that album
The artists of the 70's, of all music genres, their voices had a special quality in them. An authentic, human, emotional quality. Maybe is was the climate of the 70's. No other era, before, or after, had this quality.
Well said...
Neil Young is a beast....one of the ALL TIME greats...you may not know he was one of the guitarists in a previous video you did....Buffalo Springfield...For What It's Worth.
I just listened to another video you did a while back by STEELY DAN, one of the most musically gifted Rock groups to ever assemble. Donald Fagen keyboards, vocals and Walter Becker (guitarist) were classically trained at the Peabody Institute where they met. PLEASE do yourselves and your fans a huge favor and listen to their song SHOW BIZ KIDS.....it's killer. Becker outdoes himself with a filthy slide guitar performance. They murder this....it's a real crime scene.
By the way I'm a 65 yo life long rock and roll fan.....you and Amber make a great team and together your comments are really appreciated.
Harvest moon unplugged! Neil Young. A Must! 🤠🇺🇸🇨🇦🐎✌️
The way he plays the harmonica here is haunting.
Love his music. It's funny to hear him say he just wrote this song. I'm 61 y/o and have listened to it most of my life! It sounds as good now as always.
Two Neil Young songs that always hit me emotionally are "The Needle and The Damage Done" and "Ohio" (with Crosby, Stills and Nash). Check them out.
'Ohio' is basically a Neil Young song with them as the band. Correct?
@@jasonsmith666 yes
Ohio was a protest song. Neil wrote if after 4 students was killed at a peaceful protest at Kent State, 1970.
I already knew that.@@hannejeppesen1809
For a Neil Young classic rocker, listen to the studio version of Cinnamon Girl. The studio version has great vocal harmonies and awesome hand clapping throughout, that a live version won't have. It's a whole other side of Neil Young, but still amazing guitars.
He is called The Godfather of grunge. Mostly because of his clothing taste. He is one of the most brilliant song writers
No. Mostly because of his hard-core grungy guitar style. At least use a smiley face when you say something like that. 🙂
Neil is probably the greatest chameleon of all. Actually y'all just did a Wiilie Nelson reaction, Neil and Willie have a duet called "Are there anymore real Cowboys".
This song hit no.1 on the Billboard chart.
3:53 We All Could Use A Little ‘Heart Of Gold’ Nowadays!! Neil Is Such A Considerate &
Kind Person…The Very 1st Lyrics “I Wanna Live..I Wanna Give” That Sums Up Neil Young..
He Gives So Much…Life Is Not Always Abt. ‘YOURSELF’ U Can Get So Much Gratification From Helping Others & Putting A Smile On Peoples Faces!! I Wear A Shirt That Says…
“Be The Kind Of Person..The World Needs” Life Is 2 Short!!
Bob Dylan plays harmonica in lots of his songs.
This is Neil Young when he's being nice. You should check out Southern Man to see another side of him. He's deadly on the electric guitar.
Love Neil Young
The lyric: I don't think what he's looking for is necessarily another person, or a mate. I think the Heart Of Gold is a kind of purity of spirit - like, integrity; the ability to love unconditionally; and the whole-hearted embrace of all of life. We look for that stuff in ourselves, as much as in others.
If you like harmonica, try more Bob Dylan, especially his early stuff. "Mr. Tambourine Man" is a good place to start.
I've always LOVED this song! :)
NEIL YOUNG "ONLY LOVE CAN BREAK YOUR HEART" & "CINNAMON GIRL"
First, GO BENGALS!!! Nice to see the sweatshirt (I'm from Columbus). Neil Young is a national treasure. I'd suggest hearing the title cut from his album After The Gold Rush. The album is poetic, artistic and downright beautiful. I saw a documentary on Rick James recently I believe on Showtime. Neil Young and Rick James were in a band together in the 60's and were signed by Motown. The band never really took off, but quite an interesting fact. Neil Young and Stephen Stills were also in a group called Buffalo Springfield and their song, For What It's Worth, is a definite must hear. Billy Porter released a cover of it recently, the anti-violence protest message still resonates today. I'd suggest checking out both For What It's Worth and the song After the Gold Rush, I think you'll enjoy both.
Neil Young is the soundtrack of the apocalypse, cold, haunting, tragic.
Amber, if you're into bluegrass, do you know Alison Krauss ? She's fantastic... And her albums with Robert Plant are great too
Neil Young is indeed a Canadian treasure, but I'm going to recommend another.
Leonard Cohen. He was a true poet who put his words to music. I could list a hundred songs to recommend. His entire final album was a work of art that brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it. I've decided on Hallelujah. There have been dozens of covers of this beautiful song, but none are quite like having it performed by the man who wrote it. Look for the Live in London video.
I promise, you'll fall in love before it's over.
Hello , I am German and watching your reactions here daily . This brought me back to my youth , it was one of my favourite songs then . I take this opportunity to say how much I appreciate your reactions and thank you so much to show your lovely family picture here , I wish you as a couple and as the sweet family you are a wonderful step into the New Year
Neil is certainly one of the best. After the Gold Rush and/or Sugar Mountain are sure to make you smile.
Neil Young is a national treasure. And a purely original artist.
Which nation?
Love love love him!!!!
The ranch Neil talks about is near a little town called Sky Londa in the Santa Cruz mountains of California. One of the best concerts I ever attended was Neil Young headlining a small auditorium venue in Santa Cruz during his harvest tour... Neil had broken off of his old group CSNY and fortunate for us all he put on a wonderful concert that included guest appearances by David Cosby, Graham Nash joined Neil for a couple of tunes (Stephen Stills was in England attending a wedding). I've attended hundreds of concerts in my time - from the headliners like the Beach Boys, Billy Joel, Joni Mitchell, the Eagles, Janis Joplin, Santana, Doobie Brothers, Bee Gees, Grateful Dead, Earth Wind and Fire to many of the lessor known bands like Dan Hicks, Paul Butterfield and Little Feat... and I would say Neil Young was probably in the top five. Thanks for the chance to revisit memory lane.
Yes, there's something absolutely emotional and human (related to your breath) about the harmonica. Aside from your listening on your channel, you should buy the album Harvest for yourself. Both Old Man and Heart of Gold are on it and the rest of the album is just as good. Great road trip listen.
Neil Young is an iconic artist. Please add Cinnamon Girl to your Neil list, it’s my favorite song!!!!
Neil Young, another great Candian!
Check out Neil Young "Helpless" from The Last Waltz with The Band, it is great. Robbie Robertson wrote in his book "Testimony": When Neil entered the stage at I knew no one at Winterland felt better than Neil". I will leave it up to the readers of this comment to guess the reason he was feeling so good.
The fact that Neil has outlived so many of his contemporaries is miraculous. The guy has almost every disease I've ever heard of and literally partied like a rock star in the heyday of rock.
I love his acoustic stuff, but really prefer him electric. Especially with his band Crazy Horse. Like a Hurricane from the live album Live Rust is absolutely legendary and a great example of his big guitar style.
Rich the Ancient Metal Beast

I Love Patti so very much. The first time I saw her first was at CBGBs mid-‘70s and then at least once a year until her long break to raise a family ... and then at least once a year after she returned to us. She’s still going strong, just like Neil (who is one of my all time favorite artists). She had to cancel (and reschedule) her birthday concert this week (and so did bandmate Lenny Kaye whose bd is right before hers). I’ve gone to about 8 or so of those celebration concerts at the Bowery Ballroom; the last one I saw was when she turned 70. End of this month she turns 75.
I LOVE that she posts daily on Instagram; has even read poems and sung a few songs. And I love that she often performs with her daughter and sometimes her son. Jesse Paris Smith and Jackson Smith are also active on Instagram. Especially Jesse (as MichiganManhattan; Patti as thisispattismith). Check them out!😏❤️
Also how his personal life has not effected his profession. He has a child with handicapable ailmemts.
You wanna see Neil Young rock out on the electric guitar try All Along The Watchtower live! That's a real banger! 🎸🎸🔥🔥✌🇨🇦👍💯
For me, his voice is somewhat of an acquired taste, but the man is, in fact, a poet.
If you have not yet reacted to the song Melissa by The Allman Brothers, there is an MTV Unplugged version that is exquisite.
Well u gotta listen listen more man.
one of my favorite songs of all time.. Melissa! Matter of fact, I had to listen to it just now.. thanks for the memories!!!
Can't hear the name Melissa without automatically putting "sweet" in front of him
Neil Young was singing about "getting old" when he was 27 years old when he released Heart of Gold on his 4th album Harvest. Such a beautiful song, timeless. Another Canadian gem, he is a unique singer-songwriter and his keening voice cant be copied.
All the girls thouse days LOVED neil young.........
