One Beatles song you've reacted to that was written and sung by George is "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Just amazing! I grew up on The Beatles but it took me until adulthood to really appreciate how talented and how gorgeous George was. Another solo song of his you'd like is "Apple Scruffs"! That was his pet name for the Beatles fans that hung around their recording studio.
George Harrison has become my favorite Beatle over time. Very underrated for so long. But he wrote so many great songs later on before the broke up. It's amazing the talent they actually had in that band
I will never take away from this song because it is so beautifully and perfectly done. Following his death, a number of well known musicians held a concert in George's honor. The concert included George's son, Dhani Harrison, on the acoustic guitar who is a spitting image of his father. This song was one of the songs they played with Billy Preston (you just reacted to "Nothing from Nothing" by Billy Preston) having the honor of being the lead vocalist. OMG! Billy did such an amazing job (as did the rest of the group) that I have no doubt in my mind that George was smiling down from Heaven. Even if you don't react to it, you have to watch the video. It will leave a positive and lasting impression with you.
George Harrison was the one I truly love of "ALL the Beatles." He was special to me and now I know why he was very spiritual. I use to sing to this, "My Sweet Lord."
Namaste! This was one of truly great songs of the 70s. This is more about a man's spiritual search. Harrison was the most underrated Beatle. He sings a list of Hindu gods. This is the song that sparked my interest in eastern religions.
Mr Harrison released this song 3 months after the Beatles break up. He had also converted from being Catholic to Hindu. That's why you have the combination of Hallelujah & Hare Krishna. His voice was touched by an angel 😇
I like that Amber even appreciated George's humming. I never thought about it before. I've been listening to this song for over 50 years and I must say I like his humming also.
As long as I can remember this song has brought me an abundance of warm, joyful, enduring feelings each and every time I’ve ever heard it. 💕 Thanks for listening to this one!
Followed closely by his 'Living In The Material World" album, which also topped the charts in 1973. His two best solo records. * I don't know about "All Things" being the best of ALL the Beatle solo albums though. Paul's "Band On The Run" was outstanding as well.
HUGE hit back in the 1970's. When it came on the radio while we all were driving somewhere to have some fun....the car went quiet. We were all sitting there chillin.
This was from "All Things Must Pass", George's first album after The Beatles. He was the first Beatles to have a number one song, and a number one album. Great song, and great album. Also George did all the harmonies himself. Amazing artist.
Truly one of the greatest singer, song writer, musicians of my generation. Listen to "Beware of Darkness" for an emotional journey. And of course "Something" (Beatles song George wrote and sang).
This song is all at once relaxing and energizing, especially when the full band comes in. It makes my heart soar when that happens. Such a beautiful man and song!!
The whole "Concert for George" is something to behold and to me, one of the top 5 live concerts ever put together. All his friends getting together playing all his songs. Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney on "Something" are just haunting together.
All Things Must Pass...George's solo album is one of the best by a Beatle and the Beatles as a group. He deserves more recognition than what he gets as a musician, artist and writer
As someone who's been seeking Enlightenment for over 40 years, this song expresses my love for God like no other. George Harrison was a wonderful soul, my favorite Beatle.
I seek no gods. But I find his simultaneous acceptance of another faith, while not rejecting his own, but rather incorporating it, to be so beautiful, generous, and kind. I don't seek deeper meaning in my life, but I respect those who do, and George is a champion of them all. Good luck in your search. Your journey alone, makes it worthwhile.

I see each beetle like this, George was the spiritual guy, John was the social activist , Paul was the lover and Ringo was the celebrity. And I love all of them because they are so true to themselves throughout their lives despite all the pressure from their fans and the media. Even though they couldn’t stay together for the world they didn’t stop after the Beetles . And that was the personalities I discovered when they separated that made me love them even more, I can’t even “ imagine “ what would have happened if they would have just stopped after the Beetles.
George was always my favorite Beatle even from pre- Ed Sullivan days. His music was ever bit as creative and memorable as Paul and John's. George's commitment to social causes was primary and he basically established the blueprint for the charity rock concert. How so much talent was wrapped into four your lads from Liverpool will always be an astounding gift to the world.
What a line up of players on this song. You can distinctively here John on back up vocals. You had Clapton. And Ringos actually playing the drums on this track. RIP George and John 🙏
Amber is very spot on, George's voice sounds very pleasant even when he's just humming and it happens also in interviews, I can listen to him talking or singing for hours and not only for his voice but for the message on his statements or lyrics. This song is a hymn of praise, transmits hope as well as Jay's words at the end of every video 'We love you, we thank you, we appreciate you, everyday is a blessing', all that rhymes very well with the song, and that's what the world needs, especially now with the current events, this song takes much more relevance than ever before.
A song that reflects Harrison's inner personal journey in wrapping his head around that infinite cosmic force that people often refer to as Lord or God.
The Hindu part of this is based on a style of deity worship called Kirtan. Chanting the phrases energizes different energy centers of the body and create bliss and connection to God and all. He was at his most "poppy" with an 80s hit called "I've Got My Mind Set On You" .. but he is perhaps the most underappreciated musician of the era... from being "the forgotten Beatle" to the calming, mellow sounds of his 70s music (influenced by his dive into Transcendental Mediation), to his more pop sound in the 80s with his solo career and one of the founding members of the Traveling Wilbury's... He's a Legend
Idk how to describe how great y'all are together, but you both have the perfect energy 💯 Your vids flow so easy and your both mad open-minded, nothing but respect 🤙🏾💯
"What is Life" - fact is that first real solo album "All Things Must Pass' is a treasure. George was always my favorite Beetle, I love the solo in :'Til There Was You" ... George was humble, down to earth, humorous and reserved but really was like the icing on the cake in the early Beetles -John and Paul would bring in a song then George and Ringo would just make up their own parts to it i.e. the guitar licks in "And I love Her" and main riff in "Day Tripper" were all George's input. That's the way most bands work. Plus "Here Comes the Sun" and "Something" on the last LP were among all the rest of the Beetles best catalog. "Something" likely the song most covered by other artist. Anyway, you'll find his fingerprints on many songs in the late sixties and early seventies under alias. As a songwriter easily on par with John or Paul yet George was so just one of the guys he rarely if ever flaunted his talent nor celebrity. "The Traveling Wilburys" - a band George pretty-much formed (created) out of happen-stance from 'Handle With Care".
If you watch the new documentary it seems like half of the songs that were on all things must Pass were worked out by the Beatles and they rejected them all..🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😡😡
There are so many great songs from George’s solo career that have been mentioned by other comments. Here are a few more. “When We Was Fab” is about the experience of being a Beatle. “All Those Years Ago” is his tribute to John Lennon. His last album, “Brainwashed”, was released after his death from brain cancer and has some great songs. I would highly recommend “Any Road”, “Pisces Fish”, and “Looking for my Life” from that final album.
Some may feel this song is repetitive, but it’s actually hypnotic. I’ve heard it’s meant to be like a meditative mantra. You can hear the references to Hare Krishna. Whatever you think of it, My Sweet Lord was a huge smash hit. I believe at the time, it was the biggest hit by any solo Beatle, which I find ironic since when the band was together, George was always overshadowed by Paul and John. George was a swell guy and he has always been my favorite Beatle. May he Rest In Peace. ✌️
This song was co-written with Billy Preston who also released a version. During the "Concert for George", Billy Preston performed an amazing inspirational rendition of "My Sweet Lord" with an Allstar cast on stage, all while Billy kept the secret that he had terminal, end-stage cancer and died just a few months later. That rendition should be watched, and felt, by you and your watchers.
Please supply a legitimate source for this opinion - that Preston co-wrote My Sweet Lord. Participating in the recording is NOT the same as co-writing.
@@alexhamilton9758 many people may not realize that the term Producer implies creativity in composition (writing, musical arrangements), Phil Spector said that while George Harrison wrote the lyrics, rhythm guitar and that excellent slide guitar work, Billy Preston created all the keyboard and Hammond Organ music (writing) and the band "Bad Finger" performed the rest of the instruments in the recording. In the Billy Preston version, Billy took more of a lead in Production, it has some differences in lyrics and composition especially to the back-up vocals as Billy wanted a more Gospel feel which George really enjoyed. The personal in the recording is the same. George let Billy release it first thinking it would be a bigger "hit" than his, but when Billy's version of the song fluttered on the charts, George released his version believing it would give Billy Preston the royalties and credit he deserved.

He was by far the most spiritual beatle. He started the whole group in their spiritual, self aware, and cultural respect phase. He was a great song writer as well as a great singer. He was an all around wonderful guy. He had a fantastic sense of humor as well. ❤️
He had a side that was less noble. He certainly was not a good husband. I love the guy, but I'm just trying to inject some reailty into the discussion.
He was by far the beatle most interested in spirituality, like myself.
I truly feel/think Ringo was/is the most spiritual.
But he rejected Christianity for Hinu religion, which is his right to do.
Awesome -- He is terribly missed.
@@marcjacobscontinued9411 john and george i thought were more religious but paul and ringo were less
Dani Harrison his son sounds like him goosebumps ❤😊
He was the most spiritual of the Beatles. He was into transcendatl meditation.
One of the most beautiful songs 🎵 ever ❤ 😍 💕
Hi, My Sweet Lord sounds good, but he's not singing about Jesus, but a false god, Harrison wrote "My Sweet Lord" in praise of the Hindu god Krishna, at the end when he says My sweet Lord, he says Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Harrison was in false religion, he wasn't singing about the Lord Jesus, but to his false god Krishna,
Even if your non religious it`s has such a feel good factor, it`s calming , relaxing and chills you out.
Love this song! It is speaking directly to and soothing the soul, which everyone has, religious or not. That’s the source of the calming effect, I believe. Have a great day! 🙂
I am not only not religious I am normally super uncomfortable w/ religion due to being in a cult as a kid. This song though has this innocence to it that puts me at ease
@@supergeeky7529Same here, I’m an agnostic atheist but this song just feels like a call out to the universe and a longing to understand and connect with everything.
Love a bit of George ,he may not of got the recognition John and Paul did but he was everybit as talented.
I’m so glad to see you appreciating George Harrison, who was often overshadowed by Lennon and McCartney. I love his distinctive guitar playing and that lovely voice. This was from his first solo album after the Beatles. He was a wonderful peace loving soul. 😇 He’s another treasure who is missed. 🌺✌️
He’s my favorite Beatle
My favorite Beatle as well!
What a song! Billy Preston, George's son Dhani, Paul, Ringo and others did this song as a tribute to George and it's absolutely wonderful!
AGREED
Yep ! Also totally agree 👍✌️
He was one of the best slide Guitar players ever.
George Harrison has become my favorite Beatle over time. Very underrated for so long. But he wrote so many great songs later on before the broke up. It's amazing the talent they actually had in that band
This song brings a peace of heaven to earth. Gorgeous George. ❤️
I love love love this song. Rest in peace, George Harrison 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Greatest concert ever!!
George Harrison was the one I truly love of "ALL the Beatles." He was special to me and now I know why he was very spiritual. I use to sing to this, "My Sweet Lord."
All the harmonies are Harrison's voices dubbed in layers
In the album notes, they are listed as the "George Harrison Singers". 🙂
@@TheDunestrider Yes, that is what it says👍
I've always loved the way this song starts, that 12-string guitar is just a wall of sound. Amazing!
That's because it's being overdubbed 12 times over my friend that's the Phil Spector way
Wasn't a big Beatle fan but loved George Harrisons songs and his solo work and Something OMG what a beautiful song.
I like that Amber even appreciated George's humming. I never thought about it before. I've been listening to this song for over 50 years and I must say I like his humming also.
Me neither 😊
George Harrison was very transcendental. Upon hearing this song, John Lennon admitted, George had me believing there is a God.
My Sweet George ❤❤❤
All Things Must Pass is another good George song.
This song is a literal cry out to God Himself, looking for a sign of hope in the darkest of times. It's perfect...
It is a cry out to a Hindu deity.
No, it's not!
As long as I can remember this song has brought me an abundance of warm, joyful, enduring feelings each and every time I’ve ever heard it. 💕
Thanks for listening to this one!
George's first solo album "All Things Must Pass" is a treasure trove of incredible songs. The BEST of all the Beatle's solo albums
All Things Must Pass is one of my all-time favourite albums. It's a masterpiece. Arguably the best solo album by any of The Beatles.
My husband has it on vinyl 3 discs !
Agreed , first one to reach #1 too. Just an incredible album.
This song always taps into deep emotions and has me in tears 80% of the time.
You could not have picked a better song from George Harrison's solo career. This is my favorite of his solo songs. This shows his spiritual side.
“Isn't It a Pity” by George Harrison is another one to add to the list! Beatles for sure!
Agreed! Such a lovely deep song.
Always been my favorite by George. And that's saying something.
That’s definitely my fave George song!
When the drums kick in?! Wtf!!!! A whole new feel.
The whole "Concert for George" is something to behold and to me, one of the top 5 live concerts ever put together. All his friends getting together playing all his songs. Eric Clapton and Paul McCartney on "Something" are just haunting together.
a beautiful wish and dream. Can bring tears if you let it.

He was not translating Hallelujah into different languages but was naming all the Hindu Gods, I believe. It was a spiritual song that many religions could enjoy.

The chorus is chanting the Hare Krishna chant, which affirms him as god. It's what they chant when they're meditating and/or praying.

Beautiful George, glad you love him too xx ❤️🇬🇧❤️
I see each beetle like this, George was the spiritual guy, John was the social activist , Paul was the lover and Ringo was the celebrity. And I love all of them because they are so true to themselves throughout their lives despite all the pressure from their fans and the media. Even though they couldn’t stay together for the world they didn’t stop after the Beetles . And that was the personalities I discovered when they separated that made me love them even more, I can’t even “ imagine “ what would have happened if they would have just stopped after the Beetles.
My favorite song by George is While My Guitar Gently Weeps
thanks george for your talent and legacy of your music to the world!
You should react to George Harrison's "Got My Mind Set On You". Absolute banger!
George, my fav Beatle!! My guitar gently weeps, is beautiful too!!
It touches your soul.
Such an uplifting song, spreading the word of God in his many names and religions.
😃🛐
All I heard was 2 religions in this song
Jai Bhagwan! Praise God!
What a line up of players on this song. You can distinctively here John on back up vocals. You had Clapton. And Ringos actually playing the drums on this track. RIP George and John 🙏
私の好きなStevie Ray Vaughanのシャツをきて、My Sweet Lordを聴く、最高ですね😊

It is the one true God (Psalm 83:18), not a "cosmic force"!
@@michaelelliott5760 ...you do realize that Harrison's "Lord" is the Hindu Lord, Hare Krishna?
More than any other ex-Beatle, I think I like George's solo stuff the most. "Cheer Down" is a great song, as is "Got My Mind Set On You".
Love "Got My Mind Set On You"
I love the song cheer down it. I first heard it on Leathol weapon movie.
The live version (from Japan) of "Cheer Down" is definitely worth seeing - lovely slide guitar by George!
… as well as “All Those Years Ago”. Still makes me😭
Thanks guys!!
Takes me back to 1970, high school!
Generally, George played lead guitar, so I always listen for cool guitar work from him!!
Oh wow, I can't say the last time i heard this song. ONE OF THE BEST.
MY LOrd Jesus great song !! With Respect!
The Hindu part of this is based on a style of deity worship called Kirtan. Chanting the phrases energizes different energy centers of the body and create bliss and connection to God and all. It's even more amazing sitting in a roomful of folks chanting the same words. Bliss beyond words. It's my Spiritual practice and I incredibly miss the group experience in the past 2 years.

My catholic middle school had a nun who played guitar. We sang this song in choir and during Mass a lot. Im not even Catholic but i loved my first experience with God.
Funny a catholic nun singing about Hari Krishna, or did she not understand who this song was about?
Forever wonderful.
Need to do George Harrison- Give me love it’s about spreading peace and love around the world and shows his vocals
Agree
"What is Life" is amazing!!! And "The Traveling Wilburys" are a great band...
If you watch the new documentary it seems like half of the songs that were on all things must Pass were worked out by the Beatles and they rejected them all..🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️😡😡
No, George was not your favorite Beatle. John or Paul was.
Don't forget "I Feel Fine" great guitar rift on that one!
God bless you, George
George played all the guitar parts and sang all the backups on this song. Such talent
Not all the backup vocals. He had some female singers in there as well, for the chorus.
5 acoustic guitar players clapton frampton for a start
He is my favorite Beetle, too.
George was the Man.
It's like chanting, a prayer.
I love his version from that concert. It is the absolute feel good song .
Oh yeah!
that whole concert would be fun to watch a react too, even the eastern stuff.
I think it opens the door to praise the God of your choosing in any form. Love thos song!
George Wow..still sounds so beyond or earthly lives
