the fact that they still used locktite & torque wrench while moving at such fast pace is super impressive.
right!? I get yelled at by other techs at my place for using locktite and torque wrench for wasting MY time, they all just impact it in and call it a day.
@@gwot Not everyone understands the importance of bolt preload. Those people are just assemblers who are clueless of what they're doing from an engineering point of view.
thats because this is m-sport lol not some random dick head mechanics. wrc is srs bznz lol
This is a rally car it goes under enormous stress mechanically. Torque specifications are immensely important if you don't want your driver to die. I should also say these guys aren't your normal mechanics, these guys are specialty technicians who can drop a gearbox or engine in a matter of minutes.
I gave a hearty chuckle when they started bleeding the brakes. Like of course you have to, but i didn't expect it for some reason. This whole thing was mad impressive
Dudes be out there changing basically the entire drivetrain in less than 10min 🤯🤯🤯
Quicker than boiling water and cooking rice. Jeez.
@@thebibidu Wow, it takes 10 mins to boil your water?
@@halcyon7111 nope, about 2 mins, but rice is about 10 isn't it?
But the cars are also largely re-designed from the road car persuasions to make it easier and quicker to work on and change parts and assemblies.
@@thebibidu correct, unless you're one of thoe pussies who make "instant rice"
If Dirt Rally had these animations between stages, my playtime would be 10 times higher.
right. what if you could play as a spectator and just watch everyone work on cars between stages. Game of the year right there
Colin McRae rally 3 had these kind of animations... a game from 2002!
They're too lazy to do that, they just want easy money...
@@LinkinPark4Ever1996 V-Rally 3 also had these repairs
@@arteonyx is it considered to be repairs? I think its a tune but whatever
That's the 50% of what I like in WRC!!!
The service park with all that spare parts and the mechanics working like a Swiss clock ⏰
What's even more impressive is the drivers balls to trust his team and push that car to the edge and back.
Or the co-drivers that needs to trust both the team and the driver.
@@ProAverageGuy And this is actually much worse for your brain - being in danger but its not in your hands.
So I changed my oil today.
Do a sparkplug, and vid it
Takauchi Nishika mone are actually really easy lol. Takes me like 30 minutes.
I topped the brake fluid!
*sends resume to WRC
your oil?
X)
would take my dealer about 2 years to do this job
Nope, they'd try to convince you the car is totaled / not worth repairing and they would happily sell you a brand new car... maybe even an upgrade to something a little flashier.
@@guardrailbiter they do that after 2 years
Believed me if im pump ,and i am working with a good partner that knows what he doing ,we can do the same job , show in this video in less than 3 hours.
The ordering of parts takes most of the time
Am I the only one that’s thinks that red bulls Motorsport division should know what a transmission is and how it isn’t a dif?
This. I began to question if rally-spec cars have really tiny transmissions...or if that was simply the rear diff 😅
very high probability its a transaxle.
@@legendarygaming8011 nah it'll just be the differential. the trans will likely stay the same as the ratio between gears will likely stay the same as it'll be matched to keep engine in it's power band. they'll change the final drive ratio as there will be higher top speeds on tarmac vs gravel. that and there's no way a transaxle is a small as a differential.
ben don't get all transphobic
clive ramsbotty so sorry I now know it can identify as any car part it wants.
IT WAS LIKE WATCHING DOCTORS DOING SURGERY. AWSOME VIDEO
Crazy part of that transmission is it's actually a diff
Gearbox still same ratio, but Diff is longer on tarmac than on gravel
@@takauchinishika4701 not longer but more locked. - blocked.
@@zepter00 well that too but it still has a longer gear ratio for tarmac
@@cursedcliff7562 it dependent only on which rally. It is completly diffrent on rally Cyprus, Turkey or Acropolus and Rally Finland or Rally Poland ua-cam.com/video/giGYJOUYZ9k/v-deo.html
Guys im pretty sure the original comment was making fun of them for calling the transmission a diff. He wasnt actually talking about the properties of said diff... weirdos.
Nice! Pure natural sound without music. This is actual action in the operating floor.
To be an engineer on a rally team would be a dream come true. Look at all those lean mean processes!
Hero's behind every rally car
Behind every racecar. I've seen full engine swaps done in less than an hour, all racing team mechanics are incredible at their job and should get more praise
Look up the definition of hero. You're way off calling these guys heroes.
@@wr6392 dictionary.com definition 2:
"a person who, in the opinion of others, has special achievements, abilities, or personal qualities and is regarded as a role model or ideal"
Additionally, definition 1 arguably fits these lads. They're the second-to-last line between a working car, and one that kills the driver.
Makes me think how fast F1 red bull managed to repair Verstappens suspension damage in 2020.
These are the kind of videos I want to see!!
Is it just me or do you guys love these videos to?😍
We're glad you like them, did you see the other one from the Rally of Germany?
@@RedBullMotorsports of course I did! It was awesome💪

Mainly Scottish.
It works though
Ooyy ya busted..
@@pokoknya no..it’s oh ya bastard..
Totally awesome, at first i thought it was going to be changing the wheels and suspension only, but it turns out to be changing almost all the undercarriage parts, always love to see a tarmac set up..
RESPECT rally car designers because they have to accomplish both compact and maintainability
Serious question. Are the tolerances on the suspension setup so tight that you don't need to carry out a wheel alignment on the car once changing all the suspesion over. I'm guessing all the alignment is set on the new suspension before it's fitted to the car.
they have electronic adjustment of the suspension. the adjustment is always unequal and happens automatically only by balancing the weight distribution on each wheel. the direction is also adjusted automatically by the data provided from a resort while pulling "left-right" a few times at cruising speed. the computer manages the forces to be equal. it's not "wow, high-tech!" 😛

I love the sounds of the parts getting changed for some reason.
That's the kind of video that i love to see.. So interesting thanks to Red Bull Motorsports and M-Sport to provide us that kind of content.
Now if only my local mechanics and jiffy lubes work this quickly...
this quickly? oh they can... but to this completion and accuracy? no
Yes they can..if u pay enough money🤣
Pay 5x the labour and 8x more workers, they'll do it if you pay up
Local mechanics are happy to work that fast, but they will NOT respect the torque specs (just over-torque with their impact guns).
jiffy lube dosent even do the damn things. sells you shit they don't touch
I have so much respect for everyone who is involved in a racing team. Everyone does such a good job. And everyone has nerves of steel, huge respect.
used to do this for a living back early 2000s.. i miss the smells and adrenaline but dont miss being away so much and cold and sometimes muddy and wet lol.
And just one more solid reason Rally has been my favorite sport since 1988!
This literally is art. One day when machines take over we humans will look back at this magical time 🙂
I keep on falling in love with this sport more and more everyday
Great teamwork, shoutout to this wonderful team!
Reminds me of being 13 again, sitting in different cars in my dad's garage, pumping the brake pedal on the orders of my dad's mechanics, while they were bleeding/airing out the brake lines.... Good times!
I'm back into rallying period because we don't get to see it too much in the United States. But I got a new appreciation for these guys. because I watch a lot of sports car racing. And I just recently saw. The the John Morton story against all odds. Racing the Datsun 510 and he was working on his own car. These guys would be at home. Working on a F-22 raptor. Because they're all a big team yeah I probably seen some scraped knuckles. But it's all worth it
great video, no one in front of camera (obscuring refs, etc.) and mechanics point of view camera shots, fantastic view, wish more of these videos were done this way, keep up the good work :-))
A bliss watching a favorite team😊
Beautiful work
A beautiful powerful machine being skilfully built , in front of your very eyes ! It just shows that no machine can outdo the Human skill& intelligence. Fascinating!⚘🥀
This is why i love rally.
And here I am waiting for 2 weeks for my mechanic to fix the front right brake on my picanto...
Great video guys!
A tarmac transmission? This is on another level.
Wooow its a amazing editing made,good job🍻
As i am a mechanic. It is very satisfying to watch to heart content
I love this so much. More please
Gravel spec or tarmac spec... what's your pleasure? 🤔
thank you, i never saw anything like this
Gravel spec
Gravel and or snow!
Gr★★★
Both are amazing to watch
So damn beautiful ... almost brought me to tears
This is such an amazing work being done in 10:30sec
You guys of Motorsport are just awesome.
Unbelievable
That was so quick to charge the whole to from Gravel to Tarmac more particularly changing that transmission
My mechanics will take 3 days just to do the whole day and on the 4th day that's when I will my car running.
Rally cars are built to have their parts swapped in and out as quickly as possible.
Awesome lighting speed Service .very nice Team good job 👍👌❤
Que vídeo show, muito bom passar os passos a passos. Valeu Red Bull.
Excellent job well done!
Amazing work !!!
All the procedures done on the car has been rehearsed dozens of times back in the garage...every member of the team is assigned a task and no one interferes with the other...if you notice, the team of mechanics allowed to work on the car all have a yellow band on their ankles, some other WRC teams wear these bands on their arms..the band indicates who is authorised to work on the car and their tasks...no one else is permitted to touch the car during these time limited service stops...when their task is completed they move on to cleaning the exterior of the car to prepare it for the next stage it will tackle after it comes out next time..
thanks for the tips. AM okay now to switch to tarmac with my car :)
So clean
GOOD JOB GUYS!
Must be a hell of a pressure... GG!
Battery impact wrench double as hammer 😂
I love the fact that they're working on the ground crawling under the car, just like regular guys working on a car.
Awesome stuff. MSport still the best in the business.
So many would deny that, but considering the 1/20th (or LESS!) budget they have to work within vs. the other mega million$$ teams', yeah, they ARE 'the best'!! 😉👍
Nice video & angle, credit to Redbull..
This is my ultimate dream job. Damn it
Good work
Excellent
Rally cars, support crews and drivers are the most interesting out of all forms of motorsport.
And probably the biggest balls
Great work and beautiful Fiesta WRC 👍
Legends!
This would take me and some friends 3 months

Danke für dieses grandiose Video. 🍀
Ist es ungeschnitten?
Die Geschwindigkeit der Reparatur ist atemberaubend.
Meisterhafte Teamleistung.
Muchas gracias a Ford por el video
🙌❤🙌🙌🙌🙌👏👏👏👏👏
Just another dream job.
impressive
so cool
now this is a dream job
nice video
I always play this video while I am waiting at my local workshop. Give them a speedboost in fixing my car.
👍👍👍👌👌👌......I'm impressed....👍👍👍
i dont even watch a Rally, but damnnn this is nice
Dreamwork..........
Sshh this is
*A S M R* 😍
Goes to show the fight is both on and off the road :)
i just want that kind of jackstand system lol
Me too lol
It takes me 10 mins to find the right spanner size for a screw
I wish my construction company labourers worked with such pace, precision, quality and tidiness.
Same here 😂
Their pace would be very hard to keep up for 8+ hours a day lol
Pay them what these guys are paid, and they will.
Remember, they have to switch the tyre. Change differential value, change ride height, damper, suspension alignment, etc. Now that's impressive work
ten minutes amazing dude
When you do something all the time , you get quicker every time, and having mechanics on each corner makes time even quicker, im a mechanic by trade and iv removed and replace a clutch kit in a 6 speed vw golf in an hour, thats because I was that use to doing them I knew the size of the bolts, where they was, what rachet to use, what sockets to use ,extension bars
They don't say "Practice makes perfect." for nothing. 😉
Incridible... at 3:12 he using impact like hammer... that's super fast worker solution... ;)
This is impressive.
(And makes me extra guilty to crash a shiny chariot to scraps in DiRT)
great!!
Where do they get those tool trays they are using ?
1:01 gravel transmission? That's the rear subframe with suspension and differential. No transmission there...
Differential is element of transmission
@@Eddy_Hammer frick off
LinkinPark4Ever1996 why should he
@@harleypickin217 they changed just the differential and rear axle shafts, while "transmission" includes everything from the clutch to the transfer case, gearbox, drive shaft, front and rear differential and front and rear axle shafts in these 4wd cars
@@LinkinPark4Ever1996 i thought awd does not use a transfer case but a center differential
What brand of impact drills are those?
Nice to see you boys using a Snap On torque wrench!
I don't believe it, a redbull video that isn't 95% boring interviews
Where do they find those tool trays ?
@4:58 -
*pushes arm too far*
"ahhh you bastard"
lol
very impressive. so no wheel alignment is required? what controls the toe and camber preset? someone worked out the static ride height and arms length ahead of time?
Preset in the factory
Gravel spec
What kind of impacts are they using , I'm not familiar with it .
How are the brake hoses hooked up
Great! Where can i get one?
Where can I get brake parts cleaner for a garden sprayer?
No wheels alignment adjustment? Rely on PRO driver?
Proper Marraslavians on the spanners there!
