A number of people asking why the Red Bull pieces are overlays, and not part of the printed templates. The Red specified by RB is a semi-fluorescent colour that could not be achieved (at least cost-effectively) in the print, so it was necessary to overlay these elements. Also; it has a matte finish, where the rest of the wrap is gloss laminated. The red material was supplied direct from RB.
Seeing your comment and watching the duration of the install. Can honestly in my way of thinking. It’s an intricate car with intricate pieces. Where a normal wrap is usually printed on large sheets of vinyl put on as a single piece. I can imagine it’ll be a massive pain to fit around all the curves and squared edges… still an interesting video to watch.
@@ROSE-by5su lol it doesn’t bother us! The wraps come to us regardless so we’ll be ok. I just love seeing our work on tv! My kids love it too, gets me some extra points lol

I can’t even put a sticker on my kids toys straight, crazy how good these people doing wraps are. Also thank you MSport and Redbull for not running the same livery on the car every single year
Props to the guy for being able to do such a good job under those poor lighting conditions just for the video. Thank you very much for uploading RBM! This was very cool to watch.
Massive respect for people who wrap cars. I do it in video games, which obviously is not even close to real wraps but I know a thing or to of how much patience it takes. I can’t even begin to image how much patience you must have to prepare, plan, measure, adjust and eventually stick the inlays on every panel. Hats off!
Fantastic video! The amount of precision when wrapping is obvious...but essential! The mixed ending shots with changed lighting is 😍.. Thanks so much Red Bull Motorsports...😎👍❤️❤️❤️
It's a testament to the wrapper how much time and care he puts into the wrap despite the fact that the car is going to end up dented, damaged, scuffed, bruised and probably (at some point) wrecked. Nothing but respect for this guy - anyone who thinks this is easy has never tried to do it themselves!
I learned something new, all this time I thought the main background colors are painted and the only stickers are the sponsors logos. Very beautiful car livery... Another well done job and hopefully we will see it more often on podiums this season.
@@muhammadshofwan5309 it seems not, paint add weight to the car and the further you move away from the white color the heavier the weight due to density. That is why aircrafts are mostly painted in white: lighter hence less fuel consumption.
@@auth7046if you are talking about aircrafts then you are partially correct, one reason is weight (I worked for airlines as well as sold aircrafts) and other is heat. Same principle applies for cars in general with emphasis on weight as the heat is dealt with through more none passive methods.
This is the kind of stuff I have literally no reason to watch and pay attention to it, I literally could be sleeping rn but I'm here watching a video about wrapping a Rally Car that I will probably remember for years Thanks Redbull for this, I like it
We had our Semi Trailer (not the prime mover just the trailer) wrapped for a travelling educational facility here in Australia and it took 6 guys most of the day and it was mostly flat panels so I can appreciate the work on this car with all those curves. Great job and fantastic design.
That wrap artist is already a professional ofcourse and don't know how many edits were there but doing a precision wrap in that kind of lighting takes finesse.
AHHH! Rally is my favorite thing right now, I'm totally obsessed, your Rally videos are out of this world! Props to this man for excellent sticker sticking, really good stuff, and props to Red Bull for being absolutely sick and not letting Rally die out!
I've been working for printing company that involves sticker wrapping in certain jobs for almost a year, up until now i never have the nerve to apply the wrap dry, i need to soak the vinyl into soap solution first. This guy did it dry without so much problem, Pprofessional wrapping really is at different level.
I always thought that the car had the blue paint and the vinyls put on the paint. But even the paint was part of the vinyls. It's pretty cool and funny at the same time. Awesome video Red Bull
Thank you for showing us this art! Grew up laying old school vinyl with my dad and we got out of the business, as screen printing and wraps were getting bigger in our area. Only ever get to see this in time lapse format without editing.
The boys used to do this to the RB F1 car, the only thing that’s actually paint on the car is the yellow roll hoop area & the yellow the front nose.Newey always insisted on the car been wrapped to save weight & improve aero 👌
It's amusing to see how much of the car is made in carbon fiber. Long gone are the days when rally cars closely resembled their road-going versions, the WRC guys are driving absolute beasts these days👌🏼😁 Cool wrap job, Red Bull!
Thank you for this interesting insight into how a wrc car gets wrapped☺️! I am curious to know why the Red Bull stickers were separate? I believe all other sponsors were already on the first layer🤔☺️
Amazing how it looks like a kit car without the wrap. Also, let's forget the wrap for a second, am I the only thinking that I would love to drive this thing once my life?

A question since you have the experience: Why Redbull bull is a seperate sticker rather than printed on the first layer?

I think it depends. Many teams in F1 are using painted background and the stickers only for sponsors

Hi Ramon.
The Red material is a semi-fluorescent colour - as specified by RB - and therefore had to be overlayed as it couldn’t be achieved in print.
