Travis Pastrana and David Higgins strap into the fastest cars ever made by Subaru Rally Team USA for the legendary Climb to the Clouds hillclimb event at Mount Washington Auto Road. With over six hundred horsepower and no co-drivers, the drivers are on the limit. One car will go faster than ever before, one won’t make it to the finish.

The narrator makes me feel like I’m watching a cheetah chase a gazelle on National Geographic
Hahaha that's very funny but very true indeed 😎!
Hahaha i feel same too
The Americans must overdramatise everything. It's almost childish.
I waited if at the end they'll thank god and sing their anthem at the end.
Damn near the human equivalent tho lmao
@@iqnill lol
"It's one of the scariest things you'll do in your life"
@18:40. Still has time to wave to bystanders.
He is so skilled at everything he does.
Eye of the tiger, go fast, don't crash...oh, a fan!
travis is a boss
Respecting the fans is as important as being a good driver.
I don’t see a difference between steering with just a one hand because of greeting a crowd and shifting a gear.
"I find the limit by crashing"
I'm sure Subaru was THRILLED to hear that lol
It's not like they don't know that. There is no other way in finding a limit if you don't exceed it.
He was just being humble
Colin McRae did the same thing, possibly with even more intensity, both of them absolute legends... Subaru... why do you not make a Hill Climb edition, even @ 400hp, you would sell out in minutes...
I was like "me too bud, me too" 🤣🤣
@@Manysdugjohn if you are over the limit you are already losing time :D and being over the limit doesn't always mean crashing.
8:08 look how much rubber he laid down just in that turn
Wow, that's a good catch. Astonishing stuff!
These guys are amazing at edditing and keeping the viewer engaged
Thanks! We try!
So damn good. The flyovers, static cameras, 50 GoPros, narration, and world-class editing help capture these events like never before.
vitaliy Tekmenzhi yeah no kidding; motortrend needs to sit back and take notes. Their editing sucks balls these days
I know right! I already knew what was going to happen, and I still got chills.
BootsInShoes I feel u
That pressure on Pastrana must be spooky. A guy with a bunch of experience on your team crashed, could have possibly even died if that was a different corner, and now you have to do the same thing without failing.
Something tells me Pastrana thrives under pressure.
Georgio Henderson ตา?ๅ
you could see from the on board how much quicker his team mate was . both amazing though
WTF???
This is where the difference between"the boys" and "the men" come into play! Bravo
As an Evo owner I’ve never EVER imagined tipping my hat to Subaru and having this much respect for them until now.
Well well done Subaru Rally Team, USA.
Absolutely surreal.
i always said they both made amazing machines like the 22b and the older wrx sti rally cars and they keep coming up with something ridiculous and mitsubishi's old lancer evo cars
Dr.Dylan`s game Absolute respect for the 22b for its era. Though, I have to say the Evo X from 08 was still capable of competing with the 2015 STI. And once they discontinued it, the Subi team stole the show!
Hahahah
currently own a 01 WRX but I'm trying to get my hands on a Evo 4 or 5!
Tanner Williams I live in Atlanta and someone was trying to get rid of JDM RHD evo 4 because the dude was heading overseas. I met him at a meet. They’re very rare, especially decent shape.
Rally is such a beautiful motorsport, such a thrill to watch.
And that folks is why I own a Subaru. Not cuz of this or that, just cuz I love the brand, the product, and their work in the community and all the envelopes that they push.. Great job.
8meals same here bro! Flat fours for life!!!
👍👍💪💪 Saw a tricked out forester the other day with a bumper sticker in the back saying "The Earth is Flatt!" And two opposite facing Cylinders at the bottom.. Totally made my day. Greatest pun ever.
8meals I owned 2 Subaru and still have one and love both
Haha that's awesome. I've owned all kinds before as well, everything from 93 WRX in right hand drive, straight imported from Japan, to newer American ones and currently my DD is a nice 09 Forester that fits my whole family. Ive had others and the closest ever came a Lexus RX SUV, that one I liked too, but all other didn't even come close in my world.. 👏👏💪💪
8meals that alsome I had a 00 gc8 on coilovers and loved how it hug the road. Look for another one
Will never understand how this isn’t more popular... it’s so badass and especially with the Poster Boy and Poster car (Travis & Subaru) leading the sport it couldn’t be a better time for this sport to popularized these last years....
Rally has a massive following in Europe
World is in 'fuck boy' culture mode since Big Bang in Korea hit off, where now 2/3 of audiences don't have a spine. So these squids associate their identity with the likes of caked up kpop males, F1 dick measuring by the millimeters, highly paid FIFA MEN that are so dramatic and faking injuries like a Karen. Rally sport is like American football and Aussie Rugby compared with a serious doll party.
Without a co-driver in a powerful car like that and on such a road, 2 plays a major role. The memory of the driver and looking far ahead the road, the moment the curve's scanned, the eyes looks forward to the next one while entering the already scanned curve, driving without blinking an eye. Combining all those together comes the skills and the fast reflection of the driver. Rally, what an outstanding motor sports.
I love how Travis called out Ken block!! More pro production cars would be amazing to see on the hill climb! Can't wait to see it next year. Great job Subaru. Boxer for life 💪💪💪!!!
at 18:41 did he waive to some people?? insane!
MoonShadow Cafe
Yep...He sure did!!! That’s crazy!!!
Because that dudes balls are huge. 😂😂
Obviously another subaru. thats the subaru wave
hi hows it going....just setting a record lmao

You got balls of steel Pastrana 🙏...Bravo 😎
This channel always makes me miss the EVO vs SUBARU days. I'd love to see a documentary style show like this covering an actual rivalry.
19:35 left hanging hard lol
poor guy
Good eye LOL
He ain't even get shit after when those dudes came by hand-shaking and high fiving them, lol.
Went from "High 5, anyone?" to waving "Hi, guys?"
Hauahauahaha
I’ve been up this auto road quite a few times. They tell you to keep the car in first gear to prevent overheating, so you’re going quite slow. But even at slow speeds, driving along the edge can be very sketchy. They aren’t kidding when they say the road is narrow. I cannot even fathom going up this mountain at the speeds in this video. Must be exhilarating and nerve racking. True professionals
Haha I love this guy - Travis racing around dangerous corner and still has time to wave to the crowd!
Travis praising David is just another reason Travis is awesome. Saying he has to be as crazy as possible on track to have a chance at beating him. Though he has the records and accolades, that's some kind of humble right there.
So humble and awesome at the same time, Travis Pastrana is fantastic!
pastranas guardian angle must be stressed out to the max lol
LOL!
Definitely getting paid well for overtime haha
After failing to backflip that monster truck, his guardian angel probably has a stroke every time Travis sneezes
Such a humble guy... he is giving credits to everyone one before relishing his win..i would like to be a person like you.. Worthy winner...
For me - F1, Indy, NASCAR, Rally, Drag, Drifting - each demands different driving skills, each has different types of risk and excitement!
Never stop making this series. These videos make more proud to own a Subaru every time I watch them!
Pastrana is such a great guy, so grounded in his view of his talent and skill, I love listening to him talk about him and Higgins
Travis Pastrana is one of the REAL legends of our time. I mean, look at this man.
To appreciate how wonderful that road is you have to drive it , amazing experience.
the production value of these launch control episodes are second to none......but this episode is in another level. I already knew the outcome yet I was still at the edge of my seat. Kudos to Higgins for going flat out, he didn't finish...but man what a run for it.
kudos to the guy who cant control his car and crashed, he did a great job of crashing!
bryan nonya stfu
@@bryannonya9769 Dude if you don't like crashing, stay put of racing, especially rallying.
Higgins crashes at a time of 4:01 and Pastrana passed that spot at a time of 4:02ish....damn that was close! Would have been insane to see the split had Higgins finished!
Would be good to see what his brother Marks time would be
Higgins must have been slightly ahead on time because he lost it ( and therefore bgan to slow, at 3.57) if he had spent those 5 seconds on the throttle he would 4 mins or less to the same spot.
"I find it by crashing" this cracked me up
Pastrana is my second most favorite rally driver right after Collin. R.i.p. collin!! I'll never forget the xgames I last saw these 2 race in. Still gives me chills till this day!
How do I get the narrator to do my eulogy when I die? fantastic TV voice
I'll never understand why the U.S. makes such a big deal about Nascar (at least from what I've seen), when THIS has existed.
*Year later edit* Y'all took this shit too literally, which I guess also proves my point about Nascar and it's fans (coming from an American), lol. Never imagined a rhetorical statement would be refuted by explaining how Nascar is more marketable, than watching people drive by you one single time as they drive dangerously up a hill. Like yeah that's super obvious, but you figure Americans would be more about the much more dangerous sport of Rally than watching people go in a circle. But at the same time, I guess you can figure the opposite too, simply because of how we are 🤣
This is not very fan-friendly
Apples to oranges. You go see a NASCAR event and you can see every corner from most vantage points, and the cars are much closer together. Rallying is subjectively more exciting but if you want to watch one in person you have to spend hours waiting in the woods and then you get to watch each car fly by one at a time for a few seconds and then it's over. I'm a fan of both disciplines and I'm about as minimal a fan of NASCAR as possible, but I definitely understand why it's so popular. It's also easier to follow when your gut is full of miller lite.
Can swear they make an electric picture box where you can watch stuff like this on, lol. Can only imagine if something like that was as big of a deal to watch as Nascar :|
Watching motorsport on video isn't really comparable to seeing it in person.
ever go to a nascar event? no? then shut the fuck up. its about the number of people who can watch without dying from being hit by a car. now go to a nascar even and shut your hole
This just kept me glued to the screen.. nothing but sheer thrill...I was too tense thoughout...but what at excitment at the end.. So bad for David.. Bravo Travis... This video is absolitely a masterpiece...
Wow, the 800 horsepower Subaru is truly impressive! Congratulations to the entire team for their hard work and dedication.
It has been a pleasure watching this young man grow.
I am in awe of the record run, the cars and production quality of this video. Very emotional, great job.
The production quality on this was on another level
got goose bumps and was already on the edge of my seat from the intro
Great to see Pastrana do so well... man's come a long way
Pastrana can do it all man

This is the best video i have ever seen ! Better production then most tv shows, and those cars just sounds so dirty
What a race, that's just awesome, cheers Travis 👍🏼😊

Holy crap, the production value on these is out of this world. Love the narrative built into each one.

Unless you do Isle Of Man TT...
Pure goosebumps. Well done in every way.
Awesome editing and camera work, loved every second. But gosh damn, 800hp... I kinda... Really want to drive that... Just the sound of that engine, truly magical. I wish I owned a Subaru.
800 were the 2 cars between when Higgins and Pastrana. Both the Subaru cars ran the GRC engine which were 600hp.
Rimelight Ah, thanks. Wasn't paying attention and just heard 800hp and thought it was the Subarus. Even still... 600hp...
simon19920 800hp is toooo much for me 😂 I don't want to die
that's the impressive thing about such race-prepped cars, they are built to be incredebly safe, you look at some crashes, with "normal" cars you wouldn't stand a chance, but out of these cars you get out and walk away with no thing whatsoever
any_given_grind makes you wonder the safety of all those airbags and crumple zones
Pastrami GREAT JOB AMIGO! Been watching your love of motorsports, since you were a kid! Gifts plus Passion = Fullfillment, Race wins and a design for living. Yeehaw Buckaroo. CONGRATULATIONS!
I love this track, looks crazy as hell.
Heart rate's up and I just can't stop watching! What an amazing event! Respect to everyone involved; You've done something tremendous!
It's just driving a car. I don't know why this makes me so emotional. Lovin'it
lived in NH for practically 18 years and have only just found out about this today. of course when I move out of the country back to the mother land I found out about another amazing thing my state has. Amazing!
Epic. One word says it all. Congratulations, well done.
The hardest part of watching this video was having to clench my fists, grind my teeth, and smile all at once.
Mikey Billek I kept digging my feet into the floor trying to clutch and throttle and brake. and I'd twist in my chair bracing for turns. Fucking love it.
Mikey Billek Haha yep, I found myself breathing deep a few times. Great stuff.
... while at work. LOL!
Higgins for 2018!
The rush is pure ecstasy !
what an amazing road and beautiful nature!this seems more challenging than pikes peak!
Awesome. I love my WRX even more now! Well done :) Unbelievable driving!
Some of the shots in this are unbelievable. As for the cars & drivers . . Speechless.
holy s#!t, this had me at the edge. Good for pastrana. Glad David came out ok!
This is just lovely, him beating that record made me feel like I won with him. Just imagine how he felt
Pastrana is a legend.
Congratulations Travis outstanding performance.
That's weird... I was just at mt. Washington today and this video came up on my recommendations today after getting home, I never searched anything related to mt. Washington on UA-cam either.BIG BROTHER!!... But they are damn right, video's don't do it justice! My wife has never been so scared and we were doing 20 mph.
Apparently I Google search Mt. Washington this morning, that's why. We live in strange times.
You never know if google have everywhere you went on their database, as long as you bring your phone along
Travis Pastrana is badass, racing up a mountain and record speeds and still has time to wave to the people taking photographs haha.
That’s a great video. The preparation of those guys and Travis is awesome.
Travis is so gifted and humble. Ive watched him for a long time now and he is one of the smartly crazy talented human being and athlete of our time. My biggest claim to fame is hitting 200 mph once a motorcycle I owned. I cant imagine doing things like that for as long as he has. I love rally and F1 and superbikes. A lot of people play professional " sports " but few do this . Thank you Travis and may God continue to bless you for my entertainment !! Lol
nice! I like how he throws out a little friendly competition to Block and Millen for a challenge.
truly amazing. Deep inspiring passion. i'm proud to say i'm a car enthusiast :)
Well done Travis and Subaru team! Allow me to congratulate this video production crew! Such a professional job! Fantastic almost 23 minutes view!!
Travis, you’re a gd legend man.
Like the Nordschleif but with even more death waiting. The speeds are lower but with varying surfaces, fewer visual cues on track, and little room for mistakes makes this a lot harder I think. You run off on a rally course and it's almost always very bad, so let's throw in some cliffs for added excitement... This is some intense racing and the drivers are amazing. Great vid!
I love my New Hampshire
That run up Mt Washington was incredible, gave me shivers and the realization that one inadvertent or sudden mishap results in catastrophic situations untold.
That car of Travis' was tearing the surface off that road and the chirps of the tires on that upper section were spectacular.
Masterpiece!
Travis is one of the best of my era. No question he is and will be remembered as one of the greatest that has ever been behind the wheel. He was groomed for greatness and he has had his troubles along the way. But he has grown from them and learned from them missteps in his career. I wish I could have been brought up and been raised around the racing community but in life some time we are ment for other roads in life I know this know that I am older. If you surround yourself with people who have the means to provide opportunities like travis was presented at a early age then you have a better chance in life to become something but being born into poverty sometimes spins your life into something that you cant control i blam no one for what i have been through i just wish i would have surrounded myself with better people at a young age props to travis pastrana and all that he has accomplished in the racing industry
These cars sound amazing
I remember when Travis did his first double backflip :') Nostalgia hits
IKR??!!!! Damn, is this the same person? haha!
im so proud that i chose an STi, amazing car, amazing brand
it would be if the car was an actual sti, it's been modified so much the only thing left it shares is a couple of body panels from the road car, it's like claiming your mr2 ferrari replica is like the real thing.
@@shroomzgames7370 you probably drive a 98 civic
Kevin Vizcaino lmao
They are cool for rally, but horrible to use daily... I'll pass.
Until head gasket go boom
Excellent job.. Nerves of steel.. Well done!!!!
Great viewing.....
Fantastic Subaru performance and superb video. Very thrilled
This shit gets my heart racing more than any TV show
This just goes to show how Subaru is one of, if not the best, all around car manufacturer to date. From a young age I was always drawn towards rally racing and tried to watch it whenever it was on T.V. in the late 80's and 90's. Subaru quickly became my favorite with the Two door Impreza coupe 2.5 RS, which is still my favorite car to date. I had the pleasure of owning a 2000 Impreza Outback Sport 2.2 liter non-turbo which was a blast to drive, but left me wanting the 2.5 RS even more. One day I swear I'll finally get my hands on a coupe. The whole style of that car is just aggressive, sexy, and all around bad-ass. I wish they would release a new version of the Impreza two door couple but using the 2000 aesthetics with updated internals and upgraded motor. Nothing beats that AWD power that only comes from a Subaru. This video was awesome and I'm glad Travis set the new record. I would love to drive rally for Subaru, That would be the ultimate dream come true. So yeah....Subaru...awesome.
Fantastic....
It's amazing video, I've been watching it time a and time again .
Bravo to the narrator too.
Thanks for the ride...! Great Video!
"if you're going fast enough to win an event, you're going fast enough to crash in an event"
this narrator makes me feel like i'm watching an episode of unsolved mysteries
My boy Travis being good at everything he does, as per usual
This production is top notch, makes me proud to be a subaru tech 😎
Damn the music is freaking amazing 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼❤️❤️❤️
Two surfaces make this a really interesting event you are either gonna be using gravel tyres on tar or slicks on gravel, cool compromise to work around
I really enjoyed the callout to Keb Block and others to the mountain, the video was a great watch!
I have respect for Travis Pastrana in all hes done. Man of many talents. I know people who know him. Never heard anything bad, I think hes one of the few good role models for kids out there.
outstanding video production, you've got a new subscriber! now I want a Subaru
Literally the greatest youtube series ever
Amazing speed and agility! I want a car like that ❤ 🔥
Congrats to both Subie drivers, even though one made a tiny mistake that flipped him on his lid, with (luckily) no injuries. Very neat to catch up with a Vermont name from long ago, John Buffam.
