I like this technique using the rounded bit first and then detail bits to define the facial features. I always pick up great tips from watching you. Unfortunately Power carving for me is on hold till warmer weather. So back to my ho hum knives and gouge chip carving in the house 🤣... Thanks again for sharing and be well

Thanks Linda for the feedback, just a preference for me to use the round burrs. Some like the flame burr for starters. I guess
it’s personal choice, knife work is something
that shouldn’t be ignored, I applaud you for
using them. As far as gouge tools, I’m interested in those and need to look into it.
I hope you are having success with your wood carving. 🌝

Thanks Mark, In hindsight it might look like a gnome, no hat though, just a demo on the face. 🌝

Thanks Aiden, I usually and most often start
with the eyes. Creature of habit I suppose…
of course it’s good also to have flexibility.🌝

@@wood-psyche absolutely but I just think it might be worth trying as I have difficulty especially with the eyes so it might help to try this method can't hurt to try .

@@aidenfletcher6503 I can cover eyes in a video if you want, this kind of feedback actually helps me plan future videos. I sometimes get lost in my own work at times,
much like a ship without a course.
